I saw some dog drawings one day, and I thought, "Hmm... it would be fun to make a centaur from a dog. I bet someone did it already!". I googled and found none. Surprise! So I decided to do a couple of mythical creatures known as battledoges. I thought of a fantasy world where these cartoon dogs could exist and what professions they might have. Soon I ended up with a whole pack of cool drawings. I posted the cartoon characters, and people liked them. I was very surprised.
Things got rolling, and now I`m collaborating with amazing guys from Punga Miniatures, and soon we will launch a Kickstarter for D&D "The Deck of Many" battle dogs project by Cardamajigs. Also, there is an idea for a tabletop game.
And it all started from a simple and goofy 'what if...' idea of these mythical animals.
So folks, if you are inspired to do something unique, do it and share it with the world.

They are warriors indeed but I had one, among many, that had a softer, caring and sympathetic side that would make a good barkeep. I had another one that that would tell a sad person to just suck it up and get over it. He'd suggest we go for a walk, chase cats, and impress our admiring fans. :-)

Creating unique characters is all about imagination and experimentation. When I thought of dogs as centaur-like creatures, I couldn't believe no one had done it before.
Inspiration can come from anywhere, and just like those rare and extraordinary breeds of dogs, sometimes the most unexpected ideas stand out the most.

These are super cool and I love the artwork, but for some reason I cannot define, I find the additional appendages unnerving.

You are used to the Earth-type of 4 limbs. Being a fantasy/SF type, the 6 limbs don't bother me. Just out of curiosity, do the 4-legged, winged dragon depictions also bother you, or is it only the mammalian types that do?

The creepiest thing about centaurs is they have two rib cages. Centaurs really don't make any anatomical sense to me. Why not have an exoskeleton? Mammalian bodies have so many weak points.

If I remember correctly, centaurs arose from somebody seeing one of the Eastern nomad tribes coming for them hell-for-leather, and didn't bother to stick around to catch the details. So what got reported to (Ancient Greece, I believe) was the man/horse hybrid. And as far as thee human face--there's a reason why ugly is called 'horse-faced'! (I love horses, but pretty-faced they are not by human standards.)

In a story I wrote about these drawings, I had a character be a boarder collie. He is a blacksmith! Collies take up quite a few characters lol

Love it! The only thing missing is a brave Border Collie (maybe a military commander) and a fleet-footed Shetland Sheepdog. This one will be on my gift list!

I heartily recommend you turn this into some sort of video game. Something WOW or Skyrim-like, but with these dogs as designed. The player can choose his or her own breed and add/change clothes/armour/weapons as the game goes on. That'd be cool. Great work

This could be a great cartoon, in the same vein as Thundercats. Could be mystical, historical, touch of futuristic. Wondering what new breeds will be incorporated in future episodes would be fun. Love the centaur look. Gives it a unique weirdness and would make the animation, Battles, and fighting skills really interesting. You should pitch it!
