People sure do love to take pictures of silly cats. So much, in fact, that a survey commissioned by a cat litter company found cat owners taking an average of 7 pictures of their adorable cats per day. Per day. (But cat owners aren’t the only ones—check out our lists of dog Snapchats, too.)
If you’re a pet owner, you’re probably nodding and saying that sounds about right. Even if you didn’t take any funny photos of the light of your life today, you probably can’t find anything on your phone without scrolling through the dozens you took trying to get the right shot a few days ago, so it all evens out.
Of the millions of pictures out there of funny cats getting stuck in inexplicable places, being jerks, and charming us into letting them use us as beds for hours nonetheless, we managed to limit ourselves to, oh, just 12 dozen or so of best snapchats.

Basically, for as long as we as a civilization have had cats, we have been carrying them around like babies, complaining about how they won’t help out around the house, and making them wear goofy hats.
Accordingly, for as long as we have had cameras, we have been taking hilarious photos of them and accompanying them with funny captions.
It’s likely that any form of visual expression we invent will be used for cat pictures.

In 2018, Snapchat gave a shoutout to this huge part of its userbase by debuting filters for cats. It doesn’t look like these are still available, but while you wait for Snapchat to bring them back or introduce another round, you can try out this cat filter (for human faces).

I don’t find this hilarious. This cat might be fine but cats can have same kind of allergic reactions as humans and suffer the same consequences if they don’t get help in time. Also this is really painful for this cat as well and he needs help to ease the pain and swollen parts of his face. ALWAYS GO TO THE VET.

Who says they haven't been to the vet already? He's probably fine, just needs to wait 'till the swelling dissapears. But you're right, going to the vet after a bee sting is absolutely good advise.

I had a conversation with a friend that told me this stray orange cat would show up on her doorstep every evening when she came home from work. She'd feed him, pet him..let him lay all over her couch. Then every evening around 8, he'd stand at the door waiting to be let out. She said, this went on for several weeks. Then one day she was driving home early and saw the same cat sitting in the window of the neighbors house down the street. Clever little bugger was working the neighborhood getting free meals and lots of attention.

Had a coworker who had a cat that was indoor/outdoor and would sometimes not come home for a few days. One day he showed up and had been neutered by someone else in the neighborhood. I guess that's where he was going when he would disappear for a few days and they even named him something else. The cat was probably regretting his decision to be "adopted" by the second family....but glad they were responsible and got him fixed, unlike my co-worker.

When I was young, we had two black cats, Rock and Roll. Well Roll always visited a house down the street as it seemed that she didn't like other pets in the home. It happened so much my mother just told the people to keep her as that is where she was happy.
Anyway, we're not going to run out of cat Snapchats any time soon. Happy scrolling and upvoting!

My cat brought home a small rat once and kept bringing it back to me if it walked to far away from my seat outside... I guess he wanted to know why I wasn't killing it. Stupid humans!!! XD

I wish my 5 did this! Instead they hunt, bring the mice in my house live and then play with them and so the mouse has a chance to run away and I'm stuck having to get people to find the hiding mice (I'm disabled so can't get them myself) because I don't want the mice slowly dying of thirst!

My black cat sits directly (like 6 inches) in front of the TV and stares intently. More ignore it. And years back, I had one attempt to catch Beverly Sills (from the top) during her farewell concert. Another crawled all over the TV looking to get at the bird on the screen. (There had to be an opening somewhere--the bird got in there!) Cats!

My cat Gracie was shunned by our other two cats so she made friends with our guinea pigs. She would visit with them and I swear I could see them communicating in a friendly manner without making any sounds...lol.

OMG - We just recently got our first cat, so I started reading all about cats... I was SHOCKED when I found out they don't just pull out the nail, they chop off half of the toe when they declaw! So cruel! I'm so happy this is becoming illegal in more and more states now.

Cats don't always mean to scratch. They just have very sharp claws. My senior pats my face to get my attention and has been know to draw blood. The solution is to trim his claws, being careful not to cut into the quick. Just take the tips.

Exactly! My cat loves to snuggle and stretch in the lap of anyone she likes but unfortunately her sharp claws tend to come out while doing so. She’s so sweet though.

Awwww!! My cat is about to turn 20 & he does resemble this fellow here. He stopped grooming himself about 3 years ago. No matter how much I brush him, his fur continues to dread up. I think he prefers it like that. He's exceptionally picky when it comes to food & my absolute favorite is the fact that he has 1 whisker that's in a zig-zag shape. He looks like he's on the verge of death but I think he's got another 5 years left.

Actually I don't think it's a special breed - it looks like an ordinary european short hair cat. But I agree, the legs are too short. I guess it's a genetic disorder like dwarfism... Genetic problems can happen in every animal or human... I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, cats can have this, too...

I have two cats and they get three meals a day. One is pretty chilled when it come to food, but the other one complains if I am even a little late. She acts as if she has not eaten in weeks: "Where have you been? Can't you see that I'm starving?!?".

For those who don't know: a couple rushed to the airport but unbeknownst to them while packing their cat sneaked in the luggage. Obviously during security it caught the attention. The good news is their friends picked up their cat at the airport and they still made their flight!

My last cat was perfect for that. He loved eating spiders, so if there was a really nasty big one (we don't have venomous spiders in the wild here) I'd just say, "Dizzy, want a spidey?" and he'd run up and eat it. My current cat just waits for his servant (me) to remove it ...

It's hard to tell but this cat looks like a Persian or another squashed faced breed, which all tend to have discharge from the eyes that stains the fur. It can be difficult to clean depending on the personality of the cat involved. i.e. some enjoy getting their face cleaned, some will rip your head off if you go near them with a damp cloth. So there may not be anything wrong with his eyes, it could just be that he just doesn't like his face rubbed with a cloth.

I don't know how scientists haven't proven that cats understand mirrors yet. My cats freak out instantly at cats through windows but never, ever cared about themselves or each other in mirrors. (And I can guarantee that Frost Claw never saw one before we had him.) They do use the mirror to spy on each other though.

I agree, kittens and puppies react often to mirrors and think they see another cat/dog but they grow out of it. My dog used to watch me via the mirror. I personally think it's more that they don't care that they can see themselves, they are more outwardly directed than humans could ever understand.
