A year on from Donald Trump's inauguration women has taken to the streets once again, as a follow up to last year's Women's March.
Proving that this women's equality movement here to stay, thousands of women turned out to voice their displeasure with the current administration in Washington D.C. and just like in last year's anti-Trump protest, they have made some hilariously creative and clever protest signs.
It has been a tough year for many of these protesters, who have seen attacks on their reproductive rights, the rise of far-right movements and an immigration reform that is dividing families as well as the nation as a whole.
Despite this, the gender equality protests took place peacefully and with optimism and good humor that bodes well for future female activism. With more women now signing up for office than ever, and the rise of movements like the 'Me Too' campaign highlighting the insidious mistreatment of women by powerful men in Hollywood, it seems that women's voices are being heard in the fight for a fairer, more equal rights. Especially when the displeasure is delivered with the help of passive-aggressive, yet hilariously funny posters.
Scroll down to check out some of the wittiest, most creative and funny signs from the march. Let us know what you think in the comments, and don't forget to vote for your favorite!
Donald Trump tweeted out his support for the march, despite the fact that many of the protests were directed squarely at him

THIS IS SOOOOOO MY FAVOURITE!!! (Sorry about the caps, but I just got so excited...)
Yup. How dare he think Norwegians, (who are pretty civilised and educated and caring of the poor, and democratic (google) probably at the moment one of the best countries to be born into) would want a compliment from the prick Trump? Sorry about the whole paragraph in brackets, i got carried away by my annoyance.
Afraid that for there to be gun sense in America, Our lawmakers would have to have Common Sense.
Where Pankhurst started. It has never stopped. I'm 62 and still pushing. Could write a bloody novel, same as most women of my generation. Sad thing is that even after 'equality' laws, women the generations following me are still fighting for the same rights. Believe me ladies, it is happening, but much more slowly than we would like. keep it up. All of you. It's important !!!!!!
Excellent! More people need to realize that "government by the people" is how you get "government for the people". There's nothing special about people who hold political offices. They're often the more bold personality types (and often, power-hungry types), but that says nothing about qualifications. People need to stop presuming that they can't do any better than "the guy already in office". We need people who are motivated to serve the public; to do the work, for the right reasons. Not people motivated by the desire for attention, power, influence...
Yes--Let's get out and Vote! And volunteer to help others register to vote and get to the polls.
AND Mike Pence, he is certainly very bad and depending on how you look at it, worse (his stance on gays, trans people and such.)
I think it was Mother Theresa who said, "I won't march against war, but I WILL march for peace".
Sadly, she does have a point. But, to be exact: white women *voters*. Not white women overall (more people should be voting; the percentage of voting-age Americans who actually vote is shameful). Also, misogyny is misspelled on her sign. Still, the point is valid. I'm constantly amazed at voters voting against their own interests, most shockingly when women support Trump. I guess the white women were able to overlook the racism with less discomfort...
Load More Replies...What about the 20% of BLACK MEN who voted for racism? Yep, one fifth of black male voters chose TRUMP. Jordan what about them?
Ok. I'm no Trump supporter and I do get your point, but I feel obligated to interject and say that I highly doubt 20% of black men (and whomever else) voted "for racism" (or "for misogyny" etc). I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they probably voted for what they felt were very valid reasons, not, "hell yeah, go racism!" ...and who's to say these 20% of black men still support Trump? All I'm saying is the blame game via generalized blanket statements is counterproductive and no better than what Trump supporters say about non-supporters.

I'm sorry to ask, but as I am French, I seem to miss something here : it is the second sign on this post that mention "white women".... by percentage... and the comments also mention "black men" or other types of ethnic groups (which is already shocking to me...). I don't understand how come you people can know what percentage of men/women voted, and even less how you can know what color their skin is......... and I also am pretty sure that "white women" aren't the only women that voted for Trump..... stupidity, naiveté, discrimination (racism and misogyny included) exist everywhere, whatever your social class, origins or skin tone are.
What about those black women and men who voted Trumb? Shouldn't they be held accountable. All the more i see this weird trend by many black people to point the finger and blame white people for everything. I think there is a real issue of racism in the US that it's going both ways though. Many black people are extremely racist and hateful towards white people. The thing is, while you are permitted to speak and condemn racism toward the black community, black people have all the right to be racist.
One sign says you are fighting racism, then the next uses racism !:)
I thought the march was against Trump and inequality, not against each other, just saying
This is what pisses me off! Yeah, I'm white, but I will march until every last bit of Trump's administration is OUT of office. I just wish white people weren't as stupid as they are.
Very sad. I'm Blue in a Red state and I know that the women around me at the polls were voting for that fat pig, Trump. I know that people here are extremely bigoted, religious, and ignorant (and yes, they do seem to go together, don't they?), but there has to be a way to get these women to wake up and see reality.
OOOOH WHO ARE YOU WHO ARE YOU WHO ARE YOU? WHO'S THIS KID WHAT'S HE GONNA DO? (Love the sign, too, just could't resist singing.)
Seriously, stores are locking up Tide Pods because people are eating them. THEY ARE FOR LAUNDRY AND OUR PRESIDENT LEACE THEM ALONE
Intersectionality is a theory which considers that the various aspects of humanity, such as class, race, sexual orientation and gender, do not exist separately from each other, but are complexly interwoven, and that their relationships are essential to an understanding of the human condition. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intersectionality

Why these things won't happen in India? Why people wont react to government in india ?
These are great! WOMEN ROCK! I think my favourite (oh, SO hard to choose!!) MIGHT be "I'm ovary acting". But I love a lot of them.
2018 and we're still deciding if nazis are bad and if everyone should have basic rights
Why is everyone getting so offended in every comment section?? It’s just a protest! ENJOY IT.
For anyone else wondering, the T-shirt worn by the bearer of the (awesome) "Respect my existence" sign appears to be similar to this one: 754788c2c0...1c5354.jpg
So glad to see that the trolls are the vast minority in the comments. For every troll there are many more intelligent individuals expressing a genuine point of view in a diplomatic way. Way to go, Pandas!! <3
It will never die. Feminists will never stop fighting.

Load More Replies...It's not about just having rights... It's about keeping them. How often do you see a room full of women in government deciding what men can and can't do with their bodies? The government is currently trying to take rights away from women. They're trying to make sure insurance doesn't cover birth control. They're trying to take away funding for Planned Parenthood. Among other things to numerous to sit and list here. And on top of that, it's not just about rights. It's about empowering women who have too long been in the background of our own nations. Right now, we have a man in office who is a rapist, and who has been accused by over 15 women of sexual assault, and it's time now for women to stand up against this nonsense. These marches address that, too.
Load More Replies...Yes, Trump and his followers are absolutely an embarrassment.
Load More Replies...Examples? I don't see any such signs in this article. Your comment isn't really about this article, so I think that's why you're getting down-voted. (Not by me, BTW)
Load More Replies...I thought feminism was about supporting all women even if you don't agree with all of their views. I'm curious to know what you think is the right way to reach gender equality - can you expand on that? It seems like you're worried about how men will react to the signs and protests. I don't think we care about that anymore.
Load More Replies...So, basically, another white male who's afraid that, some how, he will suffer in a world that actually treats women as equals to men. Maybe the signs aren't for you. Maybe you need to do some serious reading about how women are NOT, in fact, given equal opportunity. The messages of the signs seem to be going over your head. Or you're willfully rejecting the point and creating a strawman argument against feminism...
Load More Replies...What are you talking about? How exactly do you bar conservative women entry to an effing march on public spaces?
