Yeah, I used to do this...but then my cat started gaslighting me, and would 'remind' me repeatedly. If you're distracted and half asleep, you'll be asking yourself didn't you already take your medication this morning. Better to use a weekly pill planner.
This. My cat gets treats at a pretty consistent time every day. But she runs up and starts shouting at me every time I am within about 10 feet of the cabinet where the treats are kept. If I took a pill every time my cat reminded me, I would be dead by mid-afternoon.
Load More Replies...My dog can be trusted to do this.. my cat would intentionally OD me to get extra treats!
Thank you, no else mentioned that but that was my first thought as well
Load More Replies...Truth, tho I'd still have to remember to do it at all that time and remember to treat the cats, then when the cats remember but I still don't then I'm sitting there talking to my cat about why he so talkative
getting all those cat looks, rolling eyes, about how you can be so dumb. Luckily adorable too, so they forgive you.
Load More Replies...I have a Pom who gets a piece of cheese everyday around 11 am. I've never been allowed to forget my 11am pill.
Until the day you take the cat treat and give the cat your medication.
Our society tends to be obsessed with efficiency nowadays. We want phones that can serve the purpose of a computer, tablet, television and professional camera, we order our morning coffee before arriving at the shop so we can be in and out the door in 30 seconds, and we hardly take in the world around us when walking down the street because we are too busy multitasking. But despite wanting to do it all and all at once, wouldn’t it be great to save a little time or energy when we can? Then we might have time to, I don’t know, stop and smell the roses?
That’s what “life hacking” is all about. If a product or a change in your habits can give you a few more minutes in the day, that time can be redirected towards something you really enjoy. Those extra ten minutes can be used to put more effort into preparing a healthy dinner or spent relaxing with your partner on the couch and recapping your days to one another. It’s 2022, and it is incredible how advanced technology has become. Why not take advantage of it to actually better ourselves and our lives?
I can concur. I had an ok mattress, the sleep was pretty good or so I thought. When I bought a really good mattress a couple of months ago I realized how crappy I slept!! Now I wake up so refreshed and not sore at all!! Best decision of the summer :)
Agreed! As soon as we got a good one we layer on it & said "what have we been doing all those years?". Also- you only get one back- you are saving future you money on physio & other bills
Load More Replies...You spend approximately 1/3 of your life in bed. Don't scrimp on a mattress. How much did your car cost vs. how much time do you spend in the car?
me at 20: goes 24 hours without sleeping and drinks a lot me at 30: dies when I sleep slightly wrong
equally underrated is the heated mattress pad. Running it costs pennies per month in electricity charges, and you don't have to heat the whole room. 81XJPiJERS...abf4d5.jpg
I'm going to order this for my mum. She's so forgetful and muddle headed. Perfect for those who take meds at specific times.
Good idea if you are not interrupted right when you open to bottle to take the pill.
I feel like this would be me... a lot. Except I interrupt myself.
Load More Replies...If a person is forgetful and confused, even a time telling cap will not convince them
These would have been really nice during chemo when I had a hard time remembering when I'd taken my antibiotics late. The chemo really makes you scattered.
This would've been great after my shoulder surgery and I when I couldn't remember whether I had taken my pain meds or not because I was loopy as hell.
Now, let’s be clear, a lot of the time life “hacking” is not actually hacking at all. It is just optimization and increased efficiency. The word hacking has a negative connotation from its association with computer hacking and other illegal activities, but that’s not what this thread aims to celebrate. The Twitter users that contributed to this list were simply looking to share the products and tips that they have benefitted from. Sure, nobody needs these products, and certainly not all of them. But they have been tested and recommended by others, so if something stands out to you that might solve a problem you are often plagued by, why not check it out?
And I know what you might be thinking: “I already own too much, and I do not need to buy anything else.” I completely agree! As a people, humans consume and purchase way more than we need. However, some of the photos on this list might inspire you to come up with solutions for common problems with what you already have at home. For example, the “hack” of placing Command hooks on the side of your trash bin to keep the bags from falling down could easily be done by attaching something else. Anything you have laying around the house that would be just big enough to hook the trash bag handles would be perfect. No money required.
really? my company hands them out to field workers who drive to customers locations- handy if you're involved in a prang!
Load More Replies...I've always wanted one, but in addition to good footage., it would also upload the fact that I am an atrocious driver. lol
I got a Tesla a few years back. If you don’t know, the lane assist/driving assist features use 8 or so cameras to navigate. Those same cameras are used as a dash cam (and surveillance cam while parked). Saved me and my insurance company $1400 or so for repairing a door ding on the then less than a month old car new. Someone chose to park next to me on a windy day when my car was parked in an empty portion of the parking lot far from the restaurant entrance. With the video the sheriff deputy was able to get the lady to give her insurance information. Bunch of interesting things being caught on cam at wam bam Tesla cam on YouTube.
Have you ever wanted to spy on your spouse phone or wanted to monitor their phone. you may want to know what is happening in their life or how they are communicating with someone else or maybe you want to protect them form their ex either way. you can contact kelvinethicalhacker@gmail.com talks about it with kelvin. you want to hack your husband whatsapp account, text messages on iphone or android phone remotely and provide ways of doing it without installing any software on the target devices you want to get complete access to whatsapp, facebook, kik, viber, messenger. text messages and other app on the phone. you can reach out to him for better information.
In general, so there is video proof to protect you in the case of an accident or incident. Otherwise both parties can claim to be the victim in some/many cases. In the same vein, you have proof as a witness to someone else's accident/incident. Also, there are insurance scams involving cars to protect against amongst other things. You may never actually need to use your dashcam footage for anything but the one time you do, you'll be so glad you had it.
Load More Replies...I you invest in a good bed, it'll be the best investment for your back for years!
Mom has a saying "Two things worth investing in are beds and shoes - if you're not in one you're in the other"
I bought an expensive mattress I really couldn't afford few years ago. I have zero regrets. And zero aches and pains when I get up in the morning.
But not too good of a bed I made that mistake never wanted to get out of it
Might try if it's fish hanging around, or burned something
Load More Replies...Not understanding why you'd want to get rid of the smell of tasty food and replace it with vinegar? I'm confused
There is no smell of vinegar. It just eliminates other odors. I use it as laundry “softener”. It gets rid of any excess detergent, brightens colors and eliminates any hair adhering to the clothes. Plus, my washing machine doesn’t get all gunked up with normal laundry softener, most of which are made with animal fat.
Load More Replies...But... what's wrong with the smell of food in the kitchen? I actually love it when my entire flat smells of delicious food I've just cooked :D
If we make pancakes, the hiuse will smell like grease for about a day. I personally don't thibk it smells s good s the food does or Tastes
Load More Replies...Why TF would I want my house to reek like vinegar after cooking a delicious meal?
Why take the smell away? Nothing as welkoming as the smell of good food after a long day away at work! Its the smell of love and caring! 💖
The only times I can imagine that you'd want to get rid of cooking smells are either if you burn your food, or if you are trying to sell your home and are expecting buyers to come through at any moment.
Well my mom hates the smell of ground beef when it cooked, she loves ground beef but the greasy smell of it when it cools upsets her stomach
Load More Replies...You also don’t have to agree that all of these hacks would change your life in particular. We all have different preferences, priorities and skills. If you are a professional chef, you might not need a chopper blade because you could perfectly dice an onion in your sleep. However, if you love to cook but hate how much time it takes to chop veggies, that might be a great solution for you. And not everyone needs a picnic blanket that folds up into a tote bag, but if you are an avid picnic-er, I can personally vouch for the beauty of that product.
We all love to peruse the reviews of a product before purchasing it, but it can be hard to even trust those. There is no way of knowing if the company is paying employees or friends and family to post glowing feedback, but why would a random person on Twitter try to trick you into buying a product? These first hand reviews are trustworthy, and they might introduce you to products you had never even heard of previously.
HECK yeah another reason to want to keep working remote. My bidet at home or the most cheep toilet paper ever at my office. O_O
Load More Replies...Besides TP economy, since it uses so little water -women usually need to use a lot of toilet paper, for obvious reasons- you also lower the risks of a**l fissures and hemorrhoids quite a bit. Improper TP usage (too rough, too dry, too harshly used) is the lead cause of fissures.
Load More Replies...I've never tried to use a bidet. This may sound very ignorant, but doesn't that spray leave your bum wet? What then? Dry it off with TP or what?
Some of the fancy ones have little blow-dryers. Mine doesn't, so a blot with TP works
Load More Replies...Enjoy having freezing water aimed directly at your balloon knot at 6am in the dead of Winter.
Lol, had these growing up in the 70's, 80's they fell out of fashion like a lead balloon and never made it back. If you have a fairly large chunk of change you can get a Japanese toilet that has the waterworks and more built in. My friends elderly mum has one, never thought i'd have toilet envy! It was £6K though, so not on my shopping list for another 20 years.
We got ours for less than $30 on Amazon. It's an attachment for the seat. No electrical, not super fancy but is amazing and I will never not have one again.
Load More Replies...Or... You could buy a travel bidet for around € 5 to €12 and have that joy wherever you go ;)
Weeds in your driveway or between paving stones? I use a stronger solution than normal (around 20%, ordinary vinegars are 5 or 7%) because I need less. A small spray every 3-5 days for a while. With 5% solution you need a couple of spoon fulls on each plant so still not much.
Thanks! Everyone around my neighborhood uses weed killer, which is also crazy toxic and causes cancer. If vinegar works, then so much the better. I'll have to pass that info along!
Load More Replies...My dad just passed away a few months ago, but back in the 60s and 70s, Vinegar was the answer to everything according to my dad. My favorite was putting Vinegar on a sunburn. Thanks for the Vinegar post... it brought back funny memories.
Reminds me of My Big Fat Greek Wedding where the dad believed Windex was the answer to everything!
Load More Replies...Have gnats in the home during the warm seasons? Take a bowl, apple cider vinegar, add sugar, and dish soap. The smell/sugar attracts the gnats, soapy water sticks them instantly. We do this every year when gnats start coming in with the heat. It's awesome.
Absolute classic commercial parody. New "Shimmer" is a floor wax! No, Shimmer is a dessert topping! No, it's a floor wax! Dessert topping!.... Hey, calm down you two. New "Shimmer" is both a floor wax AND a dessert topping!.... Mmmm, tastes terrific!.... And just look at that shine! SNL season 1! My kids nearly hurt themselves rolling their eyes when I hand them the chocolate sauce and tell them to clean the floor.
Load More Replies...I use it to rinse my fruits and salad veggies. Look at the dirty film on top of the water/vinegar soon after you do it and you’ll see why.
Sunburned skin? Pour white vinegar over it after showering. Takes the sting out.
Stainless steel pan with egg stuck, white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda.
Vinegar can do alot, but it eats away at limestone tiles, so don't use it on those.
I keep a big jug of white vinegar just for cleaning. I'd add cleaning coffee makers, calcium-clogged shower nozzles, gunky flower vases, and mirrors/windows to the list as well.
Just had a conversation with my husband where he "can't" use these, they "don't work" as good as paper towels ...so we need to buy paper towels again. Compromise? We buy him one roll just for him. It's still less in the end.
I'm at the point I only use paper towels for things that can't go down the drain, like motor oil
Load More Replies...Cloth napkins yes, Microfiber anything is a no in our house. They are plastic and break down into microparticles. Plus mind always get buggered up after one wash and they don't do a good job IMO.
This! I have some bamboo ones that are amazing. They are soft at the touch but super scrubby. I've banned paper towels and I use kleenex only when outside. At home I use cloth handkerchiefs.
Similar to this I use an old towel cut to the size I need. Just stick them through the wash when used, costs are minimal and they last for ages. 😀
I have always done this. I also use the old burp cloths from my son when they are stained. Those cloths are very good for cleaning and I don't have to throw them away.
I have never understood why people spend a fortune on paper towels when there are cloths! Seems big in America. I have never bought paper towels.
Puppy-poop and pee. Dog-barf. But other than that, there are thousands of optional altwrnatives
Load More Replies...Part 2… Is cloth more environmentally friendly? If you who think the answer is “yes,” let’s investigate this... In the US, households are responsible for 20% of greenhouse gases. Laundry accounts for 8% of this (or 1.6%). Paper production is .6%. Yes, only a small fraction of laundry is washing rags/napkins. However, detergent ingredients & microfibers that end up in our water systems cause irreparable damage. In the US & Canada, the paper industry uses sustainable forest management practices, which actually reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 14%, making the paper industry carbon neutral. What should you do? Aim to do what works best for you, but in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Don’t feel guilty if you use paper, but do try to purchase recycled paper products. Reduce harmful chemicals by purchasing greener environmentally friendly detergents and cleaning supplies. Wash cloth products in cold water and wash full loads. These steps will help!
Best would he to cut something you already own and have used to the end of its use for napkins/cloths. That way you also avoid the footprint a new (especially cotton) cloth will leave
Load More Replies...So, I’ve done the math for those of you who want to know… adding in the cost of water, electricity, and laundry detergent… it costs me approximately $1.90/load of laundry and I wash about 60 rags/napkins per load. That’s about 3¢ per rag/napkin (not including their actual cost). I buy Costco select-a-size paper towels, which end up costing approximately 2¢/2 sheets. For napkins, I like the cheapest ones I can get at Walmart ($2.98/500 count or .005¢/each… you can use 5 for just less than 3¢). Cost wise… it’s better to use paper towels for small clean up jobs that won’t use more than 2 sheets. And since I typically only use 1-2 paper napkins… they’re also more cost effective. Larger clean ups need cloth rags! In terms of being environmentally friendly… look for a Part 2 post.
Although this list features many of the best products people have purchased that have made their lives easier, the idea of life hacking can extend far beyond physical items. Of course, optimizing your life does not need to require spending any money at all. It can involve adopting routines like waking up earlier in the morning to journal and meditate before starting your day or taking advantage of the time before work to go to the gym. Meal prepping, buying food in bulk, washing the dishes while your dinner is in the oven, and setting a reminder to clean your apartment at the same time every week are all small lifestyle habits to pick up that might feel like “hacks” when you realize the benefits of them.
If you ever used a car in Southern Europe you will aprecciate this. The car gets so hot and you can't even touch the handles if left in the sun unprotected. We also have additional smaller ones for the side windows
Try living in Florida..if your car is parked in the sun, you can end up with a nifty scar in the shape of a seat belt handle.
Load More Replies...I don't have a functional AC in my car here in Virginia. During the summer, the window shade can make the difference of 85 degrees and 120.
An absolute necessity in Arizona!!! Was lucky to get a good one at Costco this year.
If you live in Texas, you can't go without one, unless you like third degree burns on your hands from touching the steering wheel.
Our side-mounted windshield shade is great, No hassle to install and no separate storage space needed! Amazon carries them: https://www.amazon.com/Dash-Designs-Retractable-Windshield-Sunshade/dp/B01MUBQWHG/ref=asc_df_B01MUBQWHG/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312061982315&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15971763410113710113&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1021338&hvtargid=pla-567939730216&psc=1
Nah!! You are left with the hot to touch shade inside your car. All it does is store the heat :-( I use a synthetic 'Fleece' blanket on the outside of the car window fixed by shutting the passenger doors on it. In REALLY hot weather, I use another blanket over the car. The real advantage is that the blankets are insulting and do NOT get hot to the touch
I like the tp holders that are just a long fancy looking hook that you slide it down on.
I have a similar tp holder now. I can't tell you how many times that spring loaded insert from my old one shot behind the toilet.
This pot and pan holder is possibly the thing I miss most from my former marriage 🤣🤣🤣 It's the best!!!
Amen to the slide out racks. Just be sure to buy the sturdy ones. The cheap ones will come off the tracks and warp once there's more than a saucepan in it.
We bought a new house this year and the first thing we did was put in those toilet paper holders. Amazing how such a little thing can be such an improvement.
I need that pot rack! The older you get, the more you need ease of use!
These are just melamine foam sponges. You can get them in bulk for way cheaper. Im talking like 20 cents US a sponge.
Came here to say this. I got a huge package of them for super cheap (when I say huge I mean huge in the way that it's been well over a year and I have yet to run out of them)
Load More Replies...Some mom used a Mr Clean cleaning sponge on her child to scrub off something like markers or temporary tattoo. The sponge is not just a scrubbing sponge that's just the right size for the job but it has all kinds of chemicals the work to remove soap film, mold, dirt and any other things you need to clean. The next day the mom had to bring the son to the emergency room. As the micro abrasive texture of the sponge completely covered his arms with rash like openings on all the surfaces of his arms, then without having intact skin, the chemicals were able to be released and get into his skin. So basically he has abrasions all over his arms, then compound that with chemical burns. All from mom thinking it was just a special designed sponge that you could scrub every surface really well because of the design of the sponge.
There are no chemicals in it. It’s a material called melamine & rubbing it on skin would cause a reaction due to friction not chemicals
Load More Replies...These are the best way to clean the white rubber on converse and vans!
Don't do what I did when they first came out... I had paint on my arms from painting walls. Used Magic Eraser to remove the paint from my skin. Burnt my skin - looked like road rash. Hurt badly. Instructions that were listed said good on leather, no mention of skin. Really regretted it.
They are Malamine sponges!!! Look that up on amazon.. you can find 100 of them for around $20
I just ordered some of these, hope they work. I didn't pay $18 that the link sends you to, but $6.00.
Wow can’t believe you never used these. The are great on porous plastic like out door yard chairs, fiberglass tubs, sneakers
Load More Replies...You have to be somewhat careful about which surfaces to use these on, IIRC. They're slightly abrasive.
This will take black Sharpie marker off the walls when your kid decides to draw. I swear by them!
What is considered a “hack” is up to the individual, but according to author and speaker Dr. Alan Zimmerman, there are a few in particular that we could all benefit from. The first tip he provides, in a piece he wrote for Entrepreneur, is to change chance to choice. He explains that we should all have a clear definition of what success means to us, and then we can mold our goals around it. “If, for example, your definition of success includes the development of an exciting, close marital or family relationship, then 12-hour work days are out,” Dr. Zimmerman writes. “If your definition of success includes a long healthy life, you’ve got to stop smoking, exercise regularly, eat in moderation, and get adequate rest.”
Wouldn't use either, haven't pulled the iron out in years, and I wouldn't steam my garments either. IF it needs pressing, I hang it outside the tub while I shower - done!
I "iron" things by spraying them with Downy Wrinkle Releaser and throwing them in the dryer. :)
Load More Replies...What is this strange thing you're talking about....IRON??? What is an IRON....lol
I have an old Jiffy steamer (professional model) and I haven't used an ironing board in YEARS. Worth every single penny. Pro tip: ONLY use distilled water! Minerals in regular water will ruin your steamer.
I don't do either. I couldn't care less if my wrinkled clothes bother someone.
OMG, these are still a thing? I remember seeing ads for them like... I wanna say 30 years ago!
Just pop the vacuum first and it will open easily. I have a little hook on my regular can opener for that. A pipe wrench also works :-)
This. It's not that the lid is tight but it's the athmosperic pressure that pushes it against glass. just a small bending of the edge with a proper tool or with spoon or something similar and after a small "pop" sound the lid usually opens easily.
Load More Replies...It plays on the joke of "if I divorce my husband who will open my jars for me?"
Load More Replies...Gives abilities back to people who have lost them to age, arthritis, carpal tunnel. Just because you can use the classic jar opening techniques that have worked your whole life, consider there may come a day that you can't. That's what this is for! Yay! 😀
As the big, muscular guy who is now dealing with arthritis and can't grip lids very well any more these things are a game changer. I have one that is hand-held, not mounted to the cabinet, and it works great.
Load More Replies...These are sooo useful! Arthritis? Wrapped or casted wrist? Forgot to turn the kitchen light on? Love this thing.
Yes. I have a simpler, metallic one. Even my 5year old child can open any lid.
Load More Replies...I always mention these when lists like this come up!!! I get so much use out of it, it doesn't take up counter space and you can't even see it under the cupboards. My grandparents had one, my parents had one, and I've had one in every apartment/condo/house I have had since I moved out 20+ years ago
For more stubborn issues - like in baths and showers get a drain snake - £15 off Amazon, better for the environment and reusable, albeit a bit gross.
Baking soda and vinegar won't dissolve a clog; Drano is much more caustic, being made from bleach, lye, and such. Better to get a snake for clogs.
Green gobbler works really well too & it's all natural & safe for all types of pipes & clogs.
Load More Replies...Plumber told us not to do this in case of very old plumbing, because it ended up making a hole under tha bath and we had to change the entire bathroom (our house was from the 30s, in Italy, so could be a site specific issue)
Approximately 1/4 cup Dawn dish soap in toilet for about 10 minutes, then pour hot water(not boiling) in. Clears out some pretty bad clogs!
OR. Do NOT put muck down your kitchen sink. Use a strainer and put the muck into the compost bin or the rubbish bin.
Yeah except this can actually make clogs so much worse!!!!! If you don't use enough vinegar or you've got a grease clog or a bad clog this will turn into a fucken rock & completely block your drain. This exact thing happened to my mother after she saw one of these stupid fucken posts. Cost her hundreds to fix it because she had to pay a plumber to come out on a holiday weekend when she was having family over. This works for stinky drains but that's it. I would NOT EVER DO THIS! Unless you wanna risk having to call a plumber anyway.
Dr. Zimmerman also says that changing convenience to conviction can be an important life hack. He provided the example of a successful insurance salesman who always wanted to be a doctor in a third world country, but following a career path in sales was much simpler and more convenient. This led him to absolutely dread going to work and always wonder what could have been if he had taken the harder path. Not every single life hack is about saving time or money; sometimes, we have to weigh the pros and cons and decide what will make us happier, healthier or more fulfilled in the long term.
But... a dryer sheet is going to ruin the wool balls. Even just 1. They cover everything with a thin layer of oils. Most sheets are toxic, too and leave chemicals behind.
Yes, please! Don't use dryer sheets or fabric softener, folks!!
Load More Replies...This is an absolute lie to say "cuts drying time in half". This whole dryer ball thing has been debunked many times. Here's an example: https://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/gadgets/reviews/a4795/4334763/
No one has mentioned the millions of people in the US who live in communities with HOA's that ban clothes lines.
I make my own with off/old socks ball up cover with a leg from old tights sorted ,
I use these and they're great. I've found that I like my clothes to only have a light scent rather than the strong smell of fabric sheets. I use Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Liquid Peppermint Soap as my laundry detergent. So using that and these wool balls my clothes come out soft with a very slight minty smell.
I have these and agree! When I can't hang my laundry outside it is nice to have these in dryer!
Dryer balls are great. I never had static since using them. However I only have the pointy plastic sea-urchin ones.
We have some of those too and they work great, but we don't use those as much since we love our wool balls...
Load More Replies...I've been using them for over a year. Haven't noticed any difference from drying without them. Vinegar is a natural fabric softener, unless you live in an area with extremely low humidity, as I do. I have found that nothing works to remove static electricity in my dried clothes. Summer humidity is higher here, so the vinegar does the trick.
It's one of those "pregnancy" body pillows, thus the comment about not having to be pregnant to enjoy it. It's curved to fit.
Everybody, you need this pillow that I haven't named or described or put up a proper photo of!
The original tweet has a full pic of the product with the product name. BP just posts the screenshots that crop the photo
Load More Replies...I bought a pillow like this with birthday money on Amazon UK (PinkFroggie brand pregnancy pillow) and yeah, I'm not pregnant, but it's the BEST purchase I have ever made! I have never slept so well in my 39 years, it's like being hugged to sleep :)
Mine is a U shape so it isn't the same type as in the picture.

Yes! Renter’s insurance will even cover off-site storage units. Unfortunately, I know this from experience. Lol
If you rent, don’t you have to carry renters insurance?? or just where i’m from?
In most cases it's up to you to get it or not. I have to!
Load More Replies...Most landlords of "nice" apartments/condos/houses require it. IMHO, it's a must.
My mom first started me with a policy when I was still in college after one of the residence halls burned down (not my hall). 16 years later I still have a policy! It costs me only $14/month.
Next, Dr. Zimmerman recommends changing from education to empowerment. We should not limit ourselves based on what education we had access to, or what we did not have access to. We can take responsibility for our lives and career paths, and if we feel we are lacking something, we should go after it. Don’t allow yourself to feel bogged down or burdened by limitations you create in your head. Enroll in a course for something you have always wanted to learn, or hop on Youtube to gain a new skill. Libraries and the internet are filled with more information than we could ever need, we just have to get curious and start looking.
If you hold a chef's knife like this woman, you'll increase the chances of cutting off your finger. Grip the blade just above the handle with your thumb and forefinger and wrap the rest of your fingers around the handle. You'll have better control over where the blade goes.
Buy frozen chopped onion. It's slightly more expensive, but you don't have the waste of onions sprouting before you get around to using them. The time and discomfort they save you is a gamechanger.
Or buy less expensive regular onion that hasn't sprouted yet and freeze it.... Durr...
Load More Replies...Another helpful tip for after you've cut onions or handled fish: squirt some shaving cream on your hands, rub it around for a bit like hand soap, then rinse it away.
OMG They make tampon warmers? Wait, can't you just hold one in your hand and warm it up. Wait, really, so is a tampon warmer something I need or not? STOP MESSING WITH ME BECK!
Load More Replies...Really? I've never had mould on my toothbrush, I close the toilet lid before I flush, and even if there are poop germs on my brush, I'm still alive. It you're that worried, an egg cup of Milton would be cheaper
Agreed, close the damn lid! I'm literally the only person I know who does that. Everyone else strongly prefers firing off a fecal cannon, covering the entire room and everything in it with a light dusting of fecal matter. But at least they didn't have to touch the lid.
Load More Replies...Has this really "changed your life"? Were you getting sick from toothbrush germs before you found this product? Would a simple covered toothbrush holder be just as effective?
Cuz the death count from toothbrushes is soooo high! Seriously an unneeded gadget.
That is some unecessary recource usage... why should I sanitize my toothbrush if only I use it?
What's it gotta do with only you using it? If it's left in your bathroom it'll get covered in toilet germs and then you put it in your mouth.
Load More Replies...Save yourself some money. Close your toilet lid before you flush. Also, get a bottle of Listerine. Pour some into a glass and rinse toothbrushes and combs in it just before you use those. It'll definitely help.
We have 4 cats, so we use a robot vacuum cleaner ( we've named him Vinney....) at goes around our house at 10am each day, and you wouldn't believe the amount of cat hair he picks up each day..

Do these work any better than they used to? Had one 30 years ago and it wouldn't pick up anything.
I have this exact same make, but 8n blue and grey. Lifesaver for parents and OCD people like me lol , good idea for future parents like my fiance and i though lol 😆
I splurged on the Dyson dust buster. I've had it 5 years and it picks up dust I didn't know I had!!!
Dr. Zimmerman also suggest that people who want to “hack their life” shift their wisecracks to wisdom. He explains how many people love inserting their opinions on topics they have no knowledge or understanding of. So it’s best to take advice from the average person with a grain of salt and consult professionals or trusted individuals when you really need some guidance. “I tell my audiences that people have a constitutional right to their ignorant opinions, but you have an entrepreneurial responsibility to ignore them,” Dr. Zimmerman writes.
The paper towels are backwards. Instead of absorbing, they will exude from that position.
Or you can just put your mouse on an analog wrist watch (if using optical mouse).
I got the same results by putting my mouse on top of a non-digital watch. The moving second hand registers on the mouse's sensor
Or just need to go to the bathroom often because of IBS or something and don't want to get bitched at for doing something perfectly legal and not time thieving.
Man. I feel so sorry for those employees who need such a thing to not get bitched at for a toilet break or lunchtime etc. (yes, i know it can be used for downloading, too.) that's more like a prison than working!
This would be a terrible idea if your company uses MS Teams. Can you imagine? Your little green light would always be on and your boss and coworkers would think you're available for chat, phone call or meeting. Ooops!

yep, I got some from the 1990s and they work very well.
Load More Replies...People used to braid fabric over wire hangers to do the same thing. Works great!
They keep loose clothing from slipping off like wide neck sweaters and silky tops..
these are the absolute best! very slim but strong and they don't leave marks on your clothes like the dreaded wire hangers
I use these!! They won't leave those obnoxious bumps in the shoulders of your tops. Love them!!
Lastly, Dr. Zimmerman says we should all change patience to persistence. He explains that those may sound like synonyms, but persistence requires a more active role. Many successful individuals have shared similar sentiments, including Albert Einstein when he stated, “It's not that I'm so smart; it's just that I stay with problems longer." We are all capable of accomplishing great things, but we have to know when embarking on a task that it may take lots of persistence.
I thought people light candles because of the ambient flame? I do and I also hate scented candles, so that's not for me. 😅
I can't tolerate most scented candles. Way too much smell. But i love candles for the light, just like you
Load More Replies...I have one of these at the office, but I thought it was a mug warmer. For keeping your cup of tea hot.
YES these used to be sold as mug warmers. People quit buying them and voila, candle warmers. Actually they work great as candle warmers and no open flame.
Load More Replies...With this thing I may just be able to afford Yankee Candles... are they as expensive everywhere?
I got my great aunt one of these with a fancy candle from Bath & Body Works when she was moved into an assisted living center (they're not allowed open flames in their individual apartments). She LOVES it. Says it's so nice to walk in and have a great candle smell again but no fear of her forgetting about a lit candle.
Just my thought. More electronic trash for the landfill too🙄
Load More Replies...I have one of the wax holding ones. That way, when the candle is burnt out, I cut up the leftover wax to melt in it for scent. Those in the photo above are just those (coffee/tea) cup warmer things we had in the 80s.

Load More Replies...Water activated lmao. Like, get it wet and use it to wash your face. Yeah, that is how wash cloths work. Very innovative.
They are different from wash cloths though. Here is a link specifically how they work: (mainly though what is different is the friction of the cloths, the long fuzzy fabric, and the absorption of the fabric) https://labmuffin.com/how-make-up-remover-cloths-work-and-review/
Load More Replies...I use a little sponge to remove my eye makeup. It was designed for this purpose and and with water and a little bit of coconut or olive oil it works like a charm. I would never want to do without it again. Yes, I have to clean it but that's all. Before this I used disposable cotton pads and somehow always managed to have some fuzz in my eyes ಠ_ಠ Not to mention the waste every day.
I use these to clean my glasses, they work way better than other fabric
Its more than a wash cloth though! Water and a regular wash cloth do not remove eye makeup the way this does. Its like voodoo or something! Its supposed to be in place of make-up wipes. It does have a bit of a pull on your skin so I put a little bit of philosophy- purity on the cloth but just a few drops. With a wash cloth I would need a teaspoon at least to get off all the eyeliner, mascara and foundation.
Same! Visit their website for recipes and ideas, such as using the cooker to make Japanese cheesecakes and sponge cakes, too.
Load More Replies...Best purchase I made last year. There's I timer I can set. I cooks congee without requiring me to constantly run up to the pot to stir and make sure it's not burning. I can steam a fish or veg while the rice is cooking. And the rice will be kept warm until I plate my food. Saves me a lot of time, stress and pots that I don't have to wash anymore.
I have a microwave rice cooker, I cooked most things in it when I was at Uni and didn't have a stove. Pasta/Rice/Veggies - very handy.
Same, we still cook rice and pasta in the microwave all the time and it comes out perfect.
Load More Replies...Yes to the rice cooker and no to washing it for me personally. I like sticky rice so I do not wash my rice.
Why pay for an appliance that is rarely used or used at all? A saucepan, well-rinsed rice, water, and a stovetop work just fine.
I'm just putting this here because I will never not think of it when someone talks about cooking rice "When making rice, rinse it thrice" - I'm not sure who told me that but it has taken up permanent residence in my head.
For us pot users, a nice clean river rock about the size of a fist put on top of the lid will bring up the pressure inside the pan just enough to keep rice from sticking and cook better.

I wish I could take melatonin, but it gives me intense night terrors.
The reason you need a subscription, or why it is illegal, is due to the dose amount. Every one has a different amount needed to reach what would be his or her natural amount. There is no one dose works for all like taking aspirin. You can do real harm to yourself trying to self medicate with melatonin.
I tried the oil for my horrible insomnia and had high hopes it would help. It did not work and I reached a whole new level of wide awake that no person has ever reached before without massive amounts of amphetamines. Then I reached a whole new level of pissed because now I'm stuck with a bottle of CBD oil that's good for absolutely nothing and it's not very cheap. I was so alert that I didn't hardly blink I honestly believe and was like that for about 10-12 hrs. Apparently you can have that type of rare reaction. I did research it before buying but it's so rare that I never dreamed (no pun intended, I'm too tired) that I would be in that lucky 2%.
Load More Replies...Seems like a lot of waste. But there are silicone toilet brushes that don't get so dirty.
After using the toilet brush, I prop it between the lid and seat so it is not being put back in the holder while the brush is still dripping. I also keep rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide in the holder.
Load More Replies...JuSt tOsS tHe diSpOsAbLe PaDs - it's 2022 FFS, time to stop using all these disposable items.
Omg just rinse your toilet brush after use like a normal person. You don’t need it sterile if you’re not planning to lick it. What careless waste.
I keep all of my units charged and in each vehicle. That way I always have one and could help someone else if need be. An old unit stopped being able to jump a battery but otherwise works. So now my daughter uses it to keep her toddler calm when the lights go out. (it has a 110 outlet on it so daughter can plug a light in for toddler)
These are also great for heavy or big earrings that are just on a hook, they tend to fall out of my ears, as when you move the earring would press on my shoulder or jacket collar etc, pushing the earring out. So I bought the silicone backings for them and now they stay in place.
Just make sure that that they're actually silicone, especially if you intend on leaving them on for a long time. I bought some a while back that were rubber instead of silicone, put them on a pair of handmade solid rose-gold hoop earrings that I slept in to make them more comfortable... and they hardened. They stuck to the earrings. I couldn't get the earrings off. I managed to get one of them off, carefully cutting the rubber off. And then I asked my father to help me with the other one... and he went and cut the whole flipping earring in half. Real solid rose-gold earring. I was less than pleased, to put it mildly.
We have a Sam’s membership, but the thing that prevents me from shopping there often is that I don’t have the space for all the bulk!
We loved Costco. But we moved to a smaller house and we lack storage space. No where to put 24 rolls of TP and paper towels!
We have discount stores like Best Before and Foodez here, saved ton on tinned food and toiletries
METRO is similar for us Europeans- it's mainly a restaurant supply store, but you can get a free membership card (at least sometimes) even if you're not registering it under a company name. Lots of cheaper products, bulk items, specialized items, and their kitchenware is cheap and fit for a professional kitchen!
These can be tricky. My mom once borrowed one of these but with a handle you spin and you need upper arm strength for these babies, especially for hard veggies
i have one that works with electricity - best thing i bought for the kitchen ever!

Load More Replies...In reality you are rubbing your floor with warm water and not really doing much else. I bought one of these and tried it, and ended up taking it to bits to fix it. From an engineers point of view what you are doing is heating cold water to make steam which travels down a small plastic tube to the cloth. What happens then is the steam hits the cloth and turns back to water which cools. The steam is often concentrated in the middle and the fact you can touch the rest of it shows how cool it is. This means you can do just as good a job with a cloth run under a hot tap.
Have a different model. When there's a pet stain for example it totally and easily does its job! Love it
Watch out if you try this on wood floors! Make sure they’re well sealed first.
Please only use these bags if you MUST. Instead invest in reusable containers and bags. It will save money, and is far better for the planet.
I already clean and reuse my cheap generic ziploc bags anyway, until they just don’t come clean anymore (several reuses later), then they get pitched. Started doing that years ago when I was young and broke, because I just couldn’t afford to keep replacing them, and now it’s just second nature to me to reuse them. If you were poor and struggling as long as I was when I was younger, the frugal habits you picked up and practiced all those years just become habits for life. FYI: when I can find affordable reuseables that won’t ever get thrown out, I invest in them. It only if they’re proven to have long lives. I’ve bought stuff like that in the past, which was heavily advertised to reduce plastic garbage, but turned out to be a waste of time, as it didn’t work. So I wait for stuff to be guaranteed to work before buying into it.
Load More Replies...Mmmm - I stopped using 3M products like this because removing them from drywall surfaces caused way more damage than a drilled hole did. It's easier to spackle and spot paint a small hole than a giant rip down to the raw drywall.
I've never had giant rips with command adhesive. Are you sure you're removing it correctly?

When I buy people flowers, I don't enter into a contract to buy them flowers for the rest of the month, year, or even their lives. :o) I buy flowers as a nice little surprise for now.
Think long walks and small children. In (northern) Germany they're called "Bollerwagen", often made of wood and quite sturdy, and in some amusement parks you can even rent them for the day. Stores not only a kid or two, but the picknick stuff you brought, too. On father's day, when groups of men meet up for walking tours they transport beer, snacks, ghetto blasters and the occasional inebriated pal with them.
Load More Replies...We have one of these in my office - when we're doing a big clean of files to the basement it really helps to not have to carry all the boxes to another part of the building. Or when I'm finally cleaning out all the old shipping boxes it makes it way easier to go to the dumpster with this loaded rather than struggling to carry everything and making several trips
You can easily make one of these! With some ingenuity and an old pillowcase, you can sew down an elastic band every couple inches to create holders you can then roll up. I made one that also has a detachable zipper pouch on one end, it's great for traveling! Just search "roll-up organizer DIY" and you should find many ways to do it!
the Pink Stuff is a cleaning game changer - it's a miracle paste and really doesn't smell at all. I only use this to clean my stove - it captures all the grease and leaves the surface perfectly clean without scratching it at all
Probably the applied pressure and heat from the material on the lower stomach
Load More Replies...Sooo these are awesome BUT they do NOT last all day for some if us. Menstrual cups are great too! I use them together!
Period undies, washable pads, menstrual cups, all great ways to eliminate a lot of plastic waste and save a lot of money! My cycle has been zero waste for almost a decade now, and it's been so much more comfortable, physically and mentally. Saved a lot on it too!
These are great if they work for you, but I call BS on helping with cramps. There's no way a piece of clothing can do that. And yes, I suffer from horrifying pain during my cycle and these don't make a difference with that. I sometimes still use tampons too because they are not enough to keep me from leaking.
I never inserted anything during my period, I used pads. Folks that used tampons always told me (sometimes aggresively) they hated pads but are now wearing underwear all day that is the same thing but you never change it? I use washable pads myself, these wouldn't work for me as even the washable cloth ones I need to change the liners on them very frequently.
Also, they are the absolute game changer for heavy nights when you are out camping and have to walk a few hundred meters to the next toilet in the morning. No more bloody trail because the tampon can't hold the sudden rush.
This is what we did as kids: Cut one of those big rubber bands (not a wide flat one, but one that’s if enough to go around larger objects), tie a good-sized knot in the end, and use that as a kind of modified slingshot instead (you’ll figure it out). After a little practice, you get really good at it. (Yeah, we were little shits.)
Hubby wanted one for ages. Finally got one and now him and son fight for possession at any given time lol
No. I mean,. Maybe if you need to make huge amounts of soup or want to freeze a ton of onions.but for us three, using this vs using a good, sharp(!) knife is just impractical. Also, the sizes rarely are what we need
I am most definitely not a fan of single use gadgets. Instead, I have a knife, and a lemon reamer. Fair enough the lemon reamer is a single use item, but it's about a quarter of the size of the one shown.
You reuse all of these things, just a wash will do.

Also, there was a big hole in the bottom of the loaf for the mixing paddle. Instead, I used the breadmaker to make dough, and then baked it in the oven. The results were far more to my tastes.
Likewise. I never baked bread myself because I hated making the dough. I get the breadmaker to do the dough and I can make twisted bread, all shapes of loaves, etc... (also does good for making pizza crust)

I bought my sister in law a small size one years ago, she's still using it regularly, and I confirm it makes very nice bread
Or, just get a wifi or phone connecting light switch. Don’t have to continuously replace the bulbs. (If possible, of course)
These always make me a little sad. I used to think these sets were such good value, but honestly, I find that... all you really need in the kitchen are two knives: a chef's kinfe (santoku or otherwise, whatever's comfortable for you), and a bread knife. I bought a cheapo bread knife at Tesco, but invested in a quality santoku knife and some sharpening stones, and I'm positive I'm not going to need to buy another knife as long as I live. The difference is really night and day!
I'd add a small vegetable knife to the bread and chef's knife. Good quality knives, plus a steel makes it so much easier, and safer to cut.

Sever snoring can be a symptom of obstructive sleep apnea, which can kill you. See a doctor.
You can actually do this with just a glass. Works the same way, and no unnecessary gadget.
But gadgets are the whole point, aren't they? Otherwise your kitchen drawers would be empty.

My robot vacuum. It does a great job on the floors but it also cuts the general dust down in the house.
For anyone who likes the Swiffer mops, try this. Cloth diapers are an exact fit. Thickest part goes on the floor, the sides come and go in the holes that keep it in place. For cleaning solution try white vinegar, diluted bleach, or even even just really hot water. You can add essential oils if you want. Just keep refilling the bottle. Been using the same one for years
