Sometimes, the best content isn’t the thing staring you right in your face. At times, the comments people leave underneath social media posts are the real treasure—whether for good or for ill. If a post gets more replies than likes, or a post comment gets more attention than the original post, then that’s what we call getting ‘ratioed.’ [Adjusts thick glasses and checks ‘Urban Dictionary.’] At least, that’s what the kids say.
Social media posts with the worst like/comment ratio and most epic or spiciest takes get featured on the popular ‘Successful Ratios’ Twitter page. And we’ve collected their best posts to share with you. As you’re scrolling down, upvote the tweets that you feel had the biggest impact, and be sure to let us know what you think of them. We got in touch with comedy writer and Twitter veteran Ariane Sherine, from the UK, to have a chat about social media comebacks. She explained to Bored Panda that editing your tweets for brevity and clarity, while also focusing on reply speed can help your comments get a ton more attention online.
"Make them [the tweets] short and snappy," she said. "After you write a tweet, go through and delete any extraneous words. Speed is also essential—the quicker you can reply after the tweet is posted, the better, as more people will see it."
The comedy expert pointed out that "most people on Twitter are lovely," so you shouldn't be afraid of others sharing their opinions about your posts. "I find you get back what you put out—post negative tweets, you attract negative people, and the same is true of positive tweets."

I feel like we shouldn't be so quick to label things abuse because it can make real abuse seem like crying wolf. But I do think it's super controlling and the kid is being micromanaged to an unhealthy level. It probably makes him feel distrusted and he won't know how to self-regulate well later on.

Wow. This is how I grew up! That does get to you with anxiety when getting older and the "jail-feeling" will never go away. And (at least for me) I still ask for permission on everything and dont do stuff I want cause it feels like I do something wrong (but its not). I feel so sorry for this kid.

However, that doesn't mean that there aren't any trolls on social media. "I do get the odd troll, but I just mute them," Ariane told Bored Panda that the best policy, troll-wise, is to ignore them. In other words, don't feed the trolls. Don't give them the attention they crave so much!
We were also curious to get Ariane's opinion on how Twitter might change if Elon Musk really does end up buying the social network.
"I genuinely have no idea. I do hope he won't bring Donald Trump back as he suggested. I've quite enjoyed the respite from his unhinged ramblings!" she said that she hopes Twitter will continue to be a Trump-free zone in the future as well.
The idea of the ‘ratio’ and getting ‘ratioed’ in the context of social media posts and comments was born in 2017, and generally meant that the greater the ratio of replies to likes or retweets, the ‘worse’ the comment is. In other words, it’s a way to measure how outrageous(ly bad) a post might be. On the flip side, it might mean that the comments underneath the original post are just that much better and more creative.

As someone who will never agree with Mandatory service BUT understand that it's normal for citizens there, I just want to say 99% of us BTS Army are more pissed because Sports fans and Classical Musicians that have less achievements have been exempt but BTS who have an order of cultural merit for spreading Korean music worldwide aren't given the same treatment just because they're idols. The ‘Successful Ratios’ Twitter page has amassed a following of over 243.3k people. Taking into account that it was created only just over a year ago, in September of 2021, that’s quite an achievement!
Plenty of folks love a good laugh and to read some spicy social media comments, so it’s no wonder that ‘Successful Ratios’ has such a solid following. It’s also proof that even the most unlikely posts can sometimes go viral on Twitter. And that good comedy is almost always appreciated.

If they're attacking a beehive, scissors kill them better than a flyswatter. You obviously can't spray poison at them without aerosolizing it into the hive & on bees. Dunno about your other two questions, though screen location doesn't really matter much to an insect with compound eyes & 360° vision.

The hornets we have in Germany are actually harmless. As long as you leave them alone, they won't harm you at all. You can even walk up to their nest (up to about 2m). A few hornets will fly up to you (reeeal close - like up to your face) to check for danger, but then they will fly back to the nest.

I got the meme but I don't really understand the science behind it. My friend is taller than his mom and dad. They are his biological parents for sure because he got unique hair of his father (a hairstyle which is uncommon in India) and face of his mother. So I think there are more factors than gene that contribute towards height. I think even stretching exercises during teenage years helps in height growth or it may also happen because their forefathers were taller.

I don't understand how the average person can be outraged over student loan forgiveness. A- The government has already distributed that money long time ago to the schools. So no new money is being spent. B- The government sold that debt to private companies. Like mine. Those private sharks have juggled my payments to them over the decade and a half that I sent money to them where I still have tons to pay for the principle balance, because most of the money went to the interest rate. C- up to $10,000? Out of a $60-100 thousand loan? That's not a lot. Basically the only people that should be upset for the loan forgiveness, are the sharks that bought the debt off the government. Probably at discount. And it is nothing to them because the most they loose is 1/6th to 1/10th of the grand total. I don't know who the rest of the knucklenuts are, but they need to get a hobby or a life or a good sex therapist and mind their own damn business.

I think $10K-$20K is the perfect amount, not too much, not too little. One of the problems I often see with our society is that people too often only think of themselves. It's true that some people are getting 10-20K forgiven but those same people will help stimulate the economy sooner; They're also Americans trying to become productive. Also, we've all received some help that was targeted to our specific situations and not to everyone so it's not completely one sided all the time.

My question is...what will be done to fix the problem? Forgiving 10k of debt might be nice for some, but will this address the issue of the exhorbitant cost of college? It seems more of a distraction from the issue than a real solution.

The problem is near impossible to fix because to start kids are conditioned to think that they have to go to college no matter what. They teach them the field of study or the personal financial situation doesn't matter just go to college if you want to be successful. Don't worry about paying for it now the government will lend you the money. Then you end up with tons of young adults with 4+year degrees working at McDonald's or the apple store buried in debt. I'm not by any means saying college is a bad decision but your personal situation should reflect how you approach it. If you're not in scholarship or you're parents can't pay before considering loans think about getting a job that will pay in some way. Almost every company offers tuition assistance now. Also be realistic maybe college isn't for you, there's great money in the trades. Obviously there's the military too. Someone needs to teach not to go into massive debt because you think you have to go to college.

I just googled the word ratio and under the "people also ask" was the question what does it mean to ratio someone? The answer: "On the social media platform Twitter, a ratio, or getting ratioed, is when replies to a tweet vastly outnumber likes or retweets. This means people are objecting to the tweet and considering its content bad.". Hope that helped.

I don't understand why it can't be educational. Besides primitive instincts, it's hard for people to know exactly what they want. Heck, my girlfriend has only started exploring her sexual likes and dislikes since she's been with me, mostly because I'm really sex positive and her past ex's suppressed her. We'll literally watch lesbian porn just to see if it's something we'd both like to try. How are you meant to know you have a fetish/kink for something if you've never experienced or explored something? So, watching porn when dating can go one of two ways: 1. For educational purposes (self discovery) or 2. Because you partner isn't into the same stuff you like and only certain things makes you aroused. Not everyone can find common ground.

You do realize DART flew atop a SpaceX Falcon 9, right? That tweet was 100% earnest, not a dig at NASA, since it was "their" mission as well. Say what you will about ol' Elon (mostly that he behaves as if the soul of a 12 year olf 4-chan memelord and a 19th century steel conglomerate tycoon are constantly fighting for control of his body), but Space X is a solid space company who has revolutionized the way we launch stuff into space and is about to do another paradigm shift with the Starship, which is not only the first fully reusable launch platform but also capable of putting 100 tons to LEO, as much as the Saturn 5 of Apollo fame.

(1) That's not a real country. (2) When you see straight lines delineating borders, it's because there is no land mass or water body there to form a natural border. The US is not the only place that does this.

Pointless. You're judging the US as if it's a unified country when it really isn't. It's a lot more like the EU. There are some general guidelines that apply federally, but most things are left up to the states, which vary wildly from civilized to barbaric, also like the EU. As a Massachusettsan, I don't want my state to be lumped in with Florida any more than Danes would accept Denmark being lumped in with Turkey regarding "various statistics."
