Art can be made out of all kinds of materials, from clay to wood to metal. However, sometimes people come up with a different type of canvas for their artistic expression.
Like this Italian artist who uses food to create intricate, detailed, and beautiful carvings from food. Daniele Barresi creates these artworks from all kinds of foods, but today we will be focusing on everyone's favorite superfood—avocado. Daniele manages to turn these delicious treats into intricate sculptures that you would probably feel bad eating.

How does he keep them from turning brown while he carves these masterpieces?
Reminds me of those mirrors with the carvings around the frame
This guy has too much time on his hands. :C I wish I could devote enough time to do something as beautiful as avocado art.
If I tried carving something like these, I would end up with guacamole.
How fast is he carving these? I would think they would be brown by the time he's done.
The true definition of art, in that you only have 10 minutes to appreciate it after having made it. Also, isn't this just a terrible waste of one of the most water- and labor-intensive nuts in the world?
It's sad that they have such short life spans. I would want to keep my avocado forever
I wonder how many avocados are used to make these? They are so sharp and uniform. I wonder if he mashes some like dough, then carve out some of the filigrees and placing them. If he slices that avocado open and just does these, I am amazed and thrilled!!!
