Enter the r/traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns subreddit (or r/traa for short), a place where transgender people can make fun "of themselves, others, and the situations they find themselves in." Known as one of the most legendary trans-centered communities, it is dedicated to posting meaningful content ranging from serious, to relatable, to completely hilarious.

Ever since its creation in 2012, r/traa has become a true powerhouse with more than 297K members posting memes that have something to do with being trans, or about the trans community. The subreddit asks its subscribers not to be too political and simply have fun. Many people share posts about the struggles they run into every single day, from transphobia to transitioning and many more.
Still, their take on tackling such serious issues is to disguise it with humor. This isn’t the place to argue but rather to embrace the weirdness, absurdity, and hilariousness of random situations that trans people find themselves in.
Being one of the most popular online trans-oriented pages, the subreddit is also dedicated to building a supportive and meaningful community, not only serving memes. One of the moderators told Mashable: "When I started, it was a lot more edgy memes. Now it's more like a place where people can leave events, support others, and comfort others while seeking humor."

The moderator mentioned that they’ve noticed an increase of younger users who are feeling more open in their lives to come out. At least to come out online, and that's why a lot of trans people turn to the r/traa subreddit.
Such online communities are great for people who might not be ready to talk loudly about their struggles but need to vent and let those feelings out in some way. It allows people to know that there are others like them who are going through the same issues in their everyday lives. This creates a sense of belonging and reminds them that they have a place to turn to.

omgosh... Mine were SO put out by my asking them to stop calling me by my childhood nickname. I cannot imagine what would be the response if I changed my name entirely. They wouldn't care if I were trans, but the name change would make them crazed.
Yes! My sister decided to stop going by her nickname after about 4 years and my parents still took ages to let it drop. They would have been able to accept the name change easier if she was trans though I think which is weird.

I'm still in the closet (even though it has holes) and even though I have supportive parents, I'm scared I could be faking it or that I could be injured (or even killed) if I try to be my preferred self out in public. I also don't get much dysphoria, probably since my parents taught me that clothes don't have a gender and neither does long/short hair. But I'm still scared. I've told some friends to try and get used to it, but now I'm even questioning the name I chose. But, I'm proud of Trans people, whether they be masculine or femminine. I wish it wouldn't be so difficult to be yourself in this world.

Let me say to you the thing that finally woke me up: a cis person probably thinks about being the opposite gender with about as much mental energy as they wonder what it might be like to be a lamp post. If you find yourself questioning your gender, even slightly, it's worth it to take a deeper look. You might be trans. You might be agender. You might be genderfluid. Until you look inside yourself, you can't know for sure. And whatever you turn out to be, there will always be those who will support you.

We still have such a long way to go. I always comfort myself that the younger generation is leaps ahead of everyone else in their comprehension of gender/sexuality rights and issues. You guys will change the world for the better, the world that my generation and my parents' generation made so crap!
I'm old enough that I remember when coming out as a guy man or a lesbian was still considered shocking, and watching that become a rare moment transform into something that (for the most part where I live) is now considered no big deal. I love seeing the strength and bravery of the Trans, asexual, gender fluid, and other marginalized people gaining strength and being supported as their fight is gaining support. I can't begin to imagine the hardships, struggles, and fears myself, although I have close friends who have (or are) going through it. But I'm just hoping in another few (short) years this will all be viewed the same way being gay is now, like it's a natural part of life and humanity.

I have looked through multiple LGBTQ+ dictionaries, and feel that Faesari is the best term for me. (Mostly Agender with a connection to Femininity). I'm still finding myself every day, and I support those who are in the same position as me, or even just people that support people LIKE me. What? How the heck would not having gender built into your language make you LESS open to gender fluidity? It automatically allows you to think in less gendered terms overall, so that is actually one positive we have going for us. America's problem with gender fluidity does not come from the language, it comes from our Puritan Christan values, which permeate almost all parts of our society.
