Probably had to place the column there for symmetry with another one. The trim carpenter actually did a beautiful job. Time to move? You've gotta be kidding!
Nope, as a former trim carpenter, You sometime have to do things a bit creative. Doubt there was a way to make this trim in a perfect corner.

I coulnd't stand that! I would cover the problem with a plant in front it.
I would have to hack away at it until I had made another.design or chop the whole thing down. Of course I would put another brace up but maybe no corners. I could not live with it.....I would have an OCD brain blowout.

It's in a house. Polished treated wood. I'm pretty sure the guy probably cleans his floors from time to time.

I guess this might be good for kids. My little sister (8 years old) was sitting next to me and she laughed like a crazy person when she saw this :-D I don't know, I thought it was creepy at first, but now I really don't know what to think about it when she found it so funny :-D she said that their smiles look like rabbits and Sponge Bob :-D I love children's imagination :-))
