Here Are Some Of The Most Displeasing And Annoying TV And Film Characters Ever (30 Examples)
Every movie or TV series has that one character that gets on your nerves. Remember Skyler from Breaking Bad or Geoffrey Baratheon from Game Of Thrones? There’s just something wrong with them - their silly stubbornness, unyielding character, and zero grip on reality are probably what makes them so irksome. Although in Skyler’s case, that is the impression when you watch Breaking Bad for the first time as with further viewings, you really start to get her. However, these two are definitely not the only annoying characters on your silver screens; there are plenty more! So many, in fact, that we’ve dedicated a whole list to the most annoying TV and film characters. So, ready to get bothered?
As mentioned above, things like blind stubbornness can make a movie character an inherently annoying one; however, there are plenty more factors that make them so. One that we’d like to mention is bad character writing - how could a good actor make a persona likable when all his dialogues are as smart or as witty as a potato? This might be the case with some Twilight series characters - sorry if you’re a fan! Another thing that makes a film or series character an irksome one is their silliness - although it might be fun, once it is overdone, it just gets on your nerves. This is our take on what makes a character into a very hateful and annoying entity, but if you have your own theories - be sure to mention them in the comments section!
But shouldn’t we check out our picks of the most annoying TV and film characters first? From animated series to TV shows and to some huge Hollywood productions, it seems that no one is safe from such bothersome types. However, we still have to decide who is the most annoying one, so give the character of your choice a vote!

Bella Swan, The Twilight Saga
They picked a horrible actress to play her. Every single movie I have seen with Kristen Stewart she has acted exactly the same just different words came out of her mouth. I may be in the minority but I have no idea how she ever became a famous actress.
Maybe you could watch her other movies where she acts differently. If she was that bad she would not be getting major roles.
Load More Replies...Basic, though. Why is a 100 yo still going to school? If he hasn't learnt it all in the first 20~30 years, he never will!
IN the book the worst character was actually Lauren. She was like the Regina George of Twilight. Also wasn't a fan of Jessica, the speech at thee wedding was so bad. She just came off as a jealous nitwit.
Textbook pretty ppl are usually hired over skilled yet less appealing to look at ppl. Unfortunately.
Load More Replies...I showed my mom that Bella was on this list and she went "Yep. Top of the list as she should be."
This was a character hell I thought it was a department store mannequin
Same! People love to hate on Twilight because it was specifically written for women, and especially for teenage girls, and our culture loves to hate on teenage girls. The root of it all is honestly unexamined cultural misogyny. Anyway, I loved the Twilight books!! I'm sad to see this at the top.
Load More Replies...Dolores Umbridge, Harry Potter Franchise
Great villain but probably the most hated character in the HP fandom.
Load More Replies...There seems to be two different classes of annoying characters in this post. The ones that are annoying because they're so badly done and those who are brilliant villains done well. Makes things confusing
The title say's most hated and annoying characters. So I am guessing it is supposed to be about characters in the story, not the actors or how well they did. But, If you have a horrible character, played by a horrible actor, double points I guess!!1
Load More Replies...Agree with the comments. There's a difference between being annoying and people loathing the character. The latter just means the actors did a good job.
Great Actress! Potterheads hates her character more than the actual Villian.
Pretty sure they wrote her to be like this. She’s annoying in a way that benefits the movie and adds to the story
Joffrey Baratheon, Game Of Thrones
That young actor was so good at his job it went bad for him. Stupid people would harass him...
I met him in Dublin were he was just a normal dude with his friends, sitting next table at a Aussie BBQ joint. Dublin, and Ireland in general is great because even if you're famous, people let you live your life.
Load More Replies...I wouldn't say annoying at all.., a brilliant character we loved to hate performed brilliantly by Jack Gleeson who captured it so perfectly that people believed he was evil.
The title did does say displeasing too, which Joffery very much was!! Jack Gleeson did such an amazing job playing this character! I feel he was one of the best actors of the series!
Load More Replies...This poor kid...all he ever did was exceed at playing a detestable character and people with brains the size of a pea couldn't differentiate between Joffrey, the fictional character, and Jack Gleeson, the TEENAGER playing that character onscreen. It led him to quit acting! I hope he's happy doing whatever he's up to these days. His performance was fantastic.
That pic looks like Joffrey's being told there's a worse villain than him in Ramsey Bolton.
Or, according to this article, Bella Swan is worse.....lol
Load More Replies...I heard that too and that he was also a theology major while doing the role.
Load More Replies...Joffrey was such an easy character to hate! never understood how people would or why they transferred such hate to the actual person...madness!!!
Many people do it. I can think of many shows, The Crown being one of them, who specifically state in the beginning, that it is fiction, but everyone seemed to think it was a historical documentary. There are a HUGE number of very gullible people out there.
Load More Replies...He wasn’t “displeasing and annoying” he was sadistic and evil. Joffrey was a great character to hate.
Nellie Olson, Little House On The Prarie
Great definition ! Colonial Karens, the great grand-mothers of all Karens.
Load More Replies...Alison Arngrim said that people used to spit on her if they recognized her. Truth be told, I might have done it. I hated Nellie so much that I am not sure that I could have separated the character from the actor. I could now, of course. She has done a lot of good work with AIDS charities.
Never watched it, but it does sound like she was faithful to the Nellie I remember from the books.
Load More Replies...The most annoying character on tv next to Caroline Channing of 2 Broke Girls.
Carrie Bradshaw, Sex And The City
yes! plus i always thought she was a) awfully "vanilla" and judge-y of others for a freakin' sex columnist and b) kind of a crummy friend! everything was always about her dramatic a$$, yeesh... i'd take her wardrobe though lol
Load More Replies...They were all annoying but yes. This girl didn't have a single problem she didn't create herself. Not to mention how "fabulous" she thought she and all her friends were when in reality they were entitled, selfish, and judgmental.
I didn't find her annoying- I actually thought Miranda was kinda annoying
That entire show was annoying. Never could bring myself to watch it. Ads for the show were enough to make me want to avoid it.
Barney, Barney & Friends
I love you .... You love Me ... we're a happppy family ... I had that ringtone with the kid gunning him down and shouting 'shut the fluff up' many moons ago
I know I'll get flack for this, but I was on bed rest with my 2nd son and couldn't do anything, but my husband had to go to work. My 3 year old would sit next to me in bed and watch Barney or let me read to him and 'behave'. Barney was a god send and I still have a soft spot for the big purple lug.
Caillou, Caillou
It was the song ..... and now it's in my head and I want to ....arrrghhhhh SHE HULK SMASH!!!!!
let's all get together and eliminate him and his family
Load More Replies...Omfg there isn't a parent I know who doesn't hate this kid. He was always so incredibly selfish!
I do not understand this show, he is such a brat. What is the point? To teach kids that if you are a whiny brat you get your way?
Jar Jar Binks, Star Wars Universe
Watching Jar Jar was like watching a really cringy comedy from the 30s. I was not amused.
Load More Replies...The day I lost my respect for Star Wars was when they started making the sequels and prequels! Didn't watch one of them. The original trilogy was good enough for me.
Load More Replies...I love Jar Jar Binks! I am not a Star Wars fan, aside from Lego Star Wars game, but I absolutely adore Jar Jar!
Okay, he’s actually cute and fun to play in the LEGO game, but in the movies he’s the most obnoxious little sh*t to ever grace the screen.
Load More Replies...He wasn't so annoying really just couldn't understand one word he said
Veruca Salt, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory
Oh she's a brilliant character, played beautifully by good actors in both movies.
She was meant to be like this and her annoyingness contributes to the movie
Well, any character named after warts specific to feet wasn't INTENDED to be NOT annoying!
The perfect symbol of all the spoiled brats and their cowardly parents.
Those kids were all annoying. Meant to be, as a foil for the good kid.
Buzz McAllister, Home Alone Series
Right? If my brother called my kid names, he'd get a slap!
Load More Replies...Agree. Uncle Frank was a freeloading slacker mooching off his rich relatives
He gotta a nice little comeuppance. Kevin straight trashed his room and considering what Kevin went through his parents would probably fan him and feeding him grapes while the threw lit firecrackers at Buzz
Edward Cullen, The Twilight Saga
So she wrote a book called Midnight Sun. It’s Twilight from Edward’s point of view while he stocks Bella and tries not to eat/kill her. Creepy stuff
*stalks. "Stock" is a collection of things for sale, or, the wooden end of a rifle.
Load More Replies...Never saw a single episode, but if Bella Swann had the emotional depth of a puddle, and Edward Cullen is annoying too, why did every person I know nearly break down walls to get to their televisions to watch this stuff?
How could anyone make an ancient vampire seem boring? Watch this movie and find out.
Caledon Hockley, Titanic
I was so happy when he lost the diamond along with Rose.
Load More Replies...And the idiot who beloved a gentleman in in a dinner jacket would have a child dressed in rags.
Load More Replies...Oh Billy Zane! He's such a good actor, I wish we saw him in more stuff. Was great to see him in The Boys recently!
Rose not moving over to let Leonardo de Capucchino onto the floating door annoys me more
Idk why people are so hung up over the door. No matter what, there is no rationalizing much when you're swimming in below freezing waters with hypothermia. Plus, this has been solved already. I think Jack knew he wasn't going to make it and wanted to make sure Rose got a chance. You can see in the movie they both tried getting on the door and it was about to flip over, so Jack decided to be the gent and let Rose on it, which saved her life.
Load More Replies...For most of the movie he just seems like an obnoxious buffoon, but when he goes full-on violent and abusive toward Rose it was genuinely scary.
That scene where he's super aggressive to her in front of the housekeeper!!! He did do a brilliant acting job though.
Load More Replies...Andrea, The Walking Dead
Lori Grimes was much, much worse. "Oh, I think my husband died 5 minutes ago. I'll just f**k his best friend and blame it on my grief."
Andrea got done dirty on the show. I wish they'd kept her true to the source material. She and Dale were in a relationship, not just hanging out in an RV together. And she survived multiple near-death experiences that resulted in her getting some gnarly scars. She was also the one who wound up as Rick's long-term partner instead of Michonne (though that one I was ok to see flipped on the show).
Ross Geller, Friends
His entire behavior was childish and toxic. Especially his relationship with Rachel. They literally dragged each other down
Oh come on y'all. I'm not saying he was perfect but he was not that bad. Maybe I'm biased because I sort of relate to him a lot. I mean I was always sort of the nerdy friend like Ross. He is a man baby but actually hilarious and he has some of the best scenes. And the whole fiasco with Emily was well it was not her fault. She was obviously mad about the wrong name and she was scared and put down unrealistic conditions. Neither one can be blamed in that situation. P.S. Don't kill me
The entire show was about six annoying people getting into annoying situations and being annoying to one another.
I can't agree with you more. Her shrill bitchiness irritated me to no end.
Load More Replies...He's my favorite character from Friends. I thought David Schwimmer was hilarious.
Also...they were all arseholes to and about Emily! She did nothing wrong and they were all banging on about her being controlling...i know its not real, but still.
There was NO chemistry between him & Rachel. Totally didn't get it.
I always thought it was his annoying behavior that made him funny. I’d probably not like him a lot in real life but in the show he was fine in my opinion
Prince Hans, Frozen
His attempt to kill Anna didn't bother me as much, after all it is good to show kids that they shouldn't believe everyone, but his reason. What did he hope for? Being a king? Well, sorry Hans, but first you would need the wedding. He would gain nothing at all. And yes, there is always the chance to take over by force, but where is his force? He was what, 12th son? His big brother has more power and would kick him out. Or some distant cousin of those prinecesses would come and put him in place. He could gain nothing. Otherways cool character, mean and cunning, but come on, do not let her die before wedding!
Lori Grimes, The Walking Dead
Never a good sign when one of your favorite episodes is when she gets killed off.
Why is it in these survival, horror type shows and movies it's the female characters that are insufferable?
Can't fault this choice, sorry. Funnily enough she played an equally annoying character in Colony :)
Why isn't this higher?! She's the character I couldn't like no matter what!
I hated her so much when I first watched it but then I watched it again and thought she was fine and her responses to most stuff was okay ish.
Anastasia Steele, Fifty Shades Of Grey
A coworker who was reading the book when it first came out brought it to work and showed us the part in the bathtub, where Anastasia sees “how far” she can go with it, so the first thing I thought when they announced the movie was being made was that well that scene definitely isn’t getting filmed lol
Load More Replies...It seems that the whole story was wrote by a horny, hormonal and delusional teenager that had a lot of raunchy fantasies but zero life experience.
Not to mention, a horrible writer. I hate read it just to see what the hype was all about when it first came out and I couldn't get past the bad writing. I made it about 100 pages in and couldn't take any more.
Load More Replies...Such a waste of perfectly good girl porn. ZERO chemistry between her and Jamie. It was heartbreaking when Charlie Hunan backed out.
Christian Grey, Fifty Shades Of Grey
Absolutely! He's a groomer. Real doms care for and respect their subs. Grey is an absolute sociopath.
Load More Replies...I mean he's literally from a Twilight fanfiction, so this should be a no brainer
Not to mention the fifty shades franchise is sitting pretty on piles of money. Society is such a joke.
Load More Replies...He’s creepy and abusive. He’s not a romance novel hero, he’s the unsub on an episode of “Criminal Minds”.
Have you seen him in ´The Fall´? Belfast strangler, much less creepy than Mr. Grey here. Anyway, this actor has a ´thing´ for this type of roles.
watched him in "Wild mountain thyme" (first and only movie of him I ever watched) as I gather its not like Mr. Grey at all. but I liked his character a lot.
Load More Replies...I tried to watch the 1st movie & it was unbearable, couldn’t make it all the way thru. Everything is such bs! Unrealistic portrayals of bdsm & power tripping rich guy seems like he’s sweeping this Niaeve girl off her feet & into a life of luxury but is really grooming her. Signing a contract that he can’t do whatever he wants to her body. It’s not sexy imo, it’s misogynistic & f’ed up & rapey 🤮
The Annoying Orange, Annoying Orange
One of my old partners left a cheap half broken bluetooth speaker at my house. I hid it in a duct at my work and used to throw random Annoying Orange songs on to screw with my co-workers.
Scrappy-Doo, Scooby-Doo Universe
Prince Charming, Shrek Series
I always thought he looked exactly like Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister from Game of Thrones). He'd be a perfect live action Prince Charming.
That was my first thought when I saw Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones. "That is Prince Charming!" His sister seemed to agree :-)
Load More Replies...Viserys Targaryen, Game Of Thrones
It was even better in the book. "I WILL GIVE YOU A GOLDEN CROWN!"
Load More Replies...I gotta downvote this one. No matter how annoying he was (and he was), his death made up for it a hundred times over!
Cousin Oliver, The Brady Bunch
I didn't see it until your comment. Now I can't unsee it! Ahhhhhh!
Load More Replies...This trope is literally called "Cousin Oliver syndrome" for a reason. It's similar to "Jumping the Shark".
On the plus side, though, he voiced Michaelangelo in the Ninja Turtle movies from the 90s.
He's also a killer musician!! He's been in a ton of LA based bands.
Load More Replies...Pat, Saturday Night Live
Back in my university days I know someone who sounded and looked exactly like Pat. And this was their regular behaviour. It was weird.
We still don't know if Pat is male or female, but i guess nowadays it doesn't matter. It's a Pat.
I loved their significant other "Chris" played by Dana Carvey, lol
Load More Replies...It should’ve been a one and done. Originally it was a funny concept how people would try to get Pat to slip, but you can’t drag that out and worst make a whole movie about. This was in the SNL phase where they took a good initial concept with good reception and made a whole movie out of them. Pat, Stuart smalley, Night at the Roxbury (which was the most consistently funny of all of them) and Ladies Man
But Night at the Roxbury was an awesome movie I loved that one. SCORE!!
Load More Replies...Dora The Explorer, Dora The Explorer
guys it's a kids show of course you're gonna be annoyed she's asking obvious questions!
She’s the only reason that I can say “Hello, My name is Dora” in Spanish. I won’t hear a word said against her
I only saw her once or twice on TV as I was baby-sitting my nephews years ago but yes, I found her extremely annoying and to this day I still cringe when I see her picture.
Dawson Leery, Dawson's Creek
Kimmy Gibbler, Full House
Oh, come on - she was great playing that part of an annoying girl, chasing Jesse all the time)
Yeah, she doesn't belong on this list. She's a good and funny quirky character.
Load More Replies...The actress was great at playing the character, but the character is one of those that as a parent you would say “why don’t you sleep over at Kimmy’s house this time. It will be so much fun!” 😇
The only character on that show that I liked! They were terrible to her for no reason!
Yeah, and the actress who played her agrees it was wrong how everyone treated her like trash and made her feel unwelcome.
Load More Replies...What do you mean? I think that Kimmy was amazing and a great character!
The Cat In The Hat, Dr. Seuss' Cat In The Hat
IIRC, the actor did this because he lost a bet. Or was under a contractual obligation.
I loved most of this movie. The infomercial is hilarious and I love the kids. Win-win situation!
Dr Seuss books are classics of childhood literature. This movie? Absolute c**p.
Skyler White, Breaking Bad
She gets way too much of a bad press. Yeah she was a wee bit annoying but you know what? Don't blame her for the way she reacted to her awful husband. He was a liar, a thief, a murderer, a drug kingpin and ruined everyone's life. I think some of her behaviour can most definitely be justified.
I fully agree. Plus, the actress is phenomenal. Put yourself in Skylar's position, too. Personally, I think Marie Schrader should be on this list instead of Skylar (I haven't read the whole list yet, so maybe she's on it, idk, yet).
Load More Replies...Not exactly sure how people expected her to act. I thought she acted very realistic.
She's another one I hated first time round but then I watched again years later and felt she was just a flawed character reacting to terrible things happening to her in a realistic way. Dunno if this means I've become more of an a*****e as I've got older or if certain female characters are demonised unfairly and I can see it more clearly now lol
She was an interesting character, I thought; she had mental horizons about an inch high and that's why she fell for/stayed with WW,
I used to work at AMC in the height of Breaking Bad and one day she was there and we shared an elevator together. She was very charming and sweet, but I couldn’t shake the character from my head
Jacob Black, The Twilight Saga
I’m team “run away Bella, live a life away from all of them. Leave the child
Load More Replies...He imprints on a child and promises to be everything she needs while waiting until she’s of age, including being like a brother to her. That’s a perfect description of “child grooming”. Just imagine the man who you always thought of as a brother suddenly starts demanding you put out. It’s disgusting.
Yes! What the heck was that all about. I’m surprised that they didn’t cut that out of the film.
Load More Replies...So, the three main characters were all hated? How did the movies do so well?
They weren't hated. It was a teenage flick and a huge hit. I was entering teenage years when the Twilight era hit and it was just EVERYWHERE. Cinemas, bookstores, TV, magazines, you name it... you looked anywhere, and saw something Twilight. The main three were huge stars and most of the girls were assorting themselves into teams Edward/Jacob. It was the usual tennage girl magnet. When you are 10-14, the movie and the characters look cool and mysterious, you don't really know better.
Load More Replies...13yo me had a huge crush on Jacob. Years later, adult me watched the movies again. YIKES. HUGE YIKES.
He was fine till the renesmee thing happened. Till then I was always team Jacob
My young teenage girls were discussing having Edward’s head on Jacob’s body. Told them off for objectifying them, obviously, I mean we’re all thinking it, but we don’t say it!
He may not be able to act his way out of a paper bag, but he is foine!
Mutt Williams, Indiana Jones Franchise
maybe if he was played by a different actor or was written differently. The character could have taken over the franchise but of course it would never be as good, right? Who could possibly be better than Harrison Ford/Indiana Jones?!?!
I never understood this character at all. The casting seemed to have wanted someone young and relevant but SLB is neither.
I think they were trying to pass the torch. Reboot the franchise with a new lead.
Load More Replies...I don’t understand this one. The Indy story ended when they rode off into the sunset in Last Crusade.
This should be higher. The character was awful and so is the actor. Now I'm going to returnto my selective amnesia where this movie never happened.
Larry Bloom, Orange Is The New Black
He was a sweet little boy who thought he could change a bad woman through the power of love He wasn't annoying at all just an airhead
Biff Tannen, Back To The Future Trilogy
I don't find him annoying. Also Thomas F. Wilson does not get enough credit for the different versions of Biff he played throughout time. Griff/Biff/Mad Dog etc, all good.
Biff was an amazing villain. The way they wrote in a scene where Biff was drunk driving and got in a wreck and he blamed it on George. Played very straight. “Who’s gonna pay my cleaning bill?!”
That's what villains are supposed to be. Annoying and disappointing certainly not. In the end you both hate and pity him, for he was just another bully
Load More Replies...President Alma Coin, The Hunger Games
HOW can you hate Julianne? In any role? Ok, there was one - that b***h in Savage Grace.
That isn't an "annoying" character; that is a villain. Come on, people.
Rico Suave, Hannah Montana
Totally irrelevant, but I was wondering: is your screen name a take-off of Debbie Harry?
Load More Replies...Never watched this show, but if they didn’t use this kids name to get in a Gerardo cameo I’ll be very disappointed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8_f3kJOX_8&ab_channel=EduardoVega
Howard The Duck, Howard The Duck
Howard the Duck is one of my favorite movies from childhood. We're really missing out by making everything CGI instead of using puppetry like this - there's just something so much more tangible about having something real there to act with and against.
Anyone, man or duck, that can get new wave half naked Lea Thompson to want to hook up with you can come to my birthday party.
Boss Nass, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
But he was voiced by Brian Blessed! One of the greatest British Comedians ever!
Randy Pearson, That '70s Show
Honestly, they were in a tough spot on the show. Ashton Kutcher was gaining massive popularity with Punk'd and Topher Grace just decided to up and leave to pursue his solo acting career (and didn't even have the grace to reappear for the finale even though everyone else did including Kutcher, whose star was most definitely rising faster than his). They felt like they had to introduce some generic, goofy white guy to fill the void. Enter Randy 😒 Let's just hope they've got the good sense to keep him away from the 90s Show reboot.
Newman, Seinfeld
Ah ah ah...you didn't say the magic word...ah ah ah
Load More Replies...Francie Jarvis, Gilmore Girls
Lorelei is worse to me. But she raised Rory so yeah, bad.
Load More Replies...Little Nicky, Little Nicky
Yep same insta-avoidance of any movie he's in just like Mike Myers :)
Load More Replies...Oh god this one. But Sandler is playing some Andy Kaufman long game. His comedies are terrible, keeping in mind he is/was a comedian, but make serious bank. Then he is consistently good in more serious roles. You’re the embodiment of irony Sandler!! Billy Madison and happy Gilmore are classics though.
Kim Bauer, 24
Yes. One of the best things about the last season with Jack Bauer("24: Live Another Day"), was that she wasn't in it.
Will Schuester, Glee
Really? You have Will on here but not the psychotic Sue Sylvester or the supremely annoying and self-absorbed Rachel Berry?
Rachel first. Sue was epic. Will was just a cardboard cut out with terrible hair
Rachel Barry in all the seasons. Her voice is great but her character was bad.
Load More Replies...I’ve never watched this show, but in this pic he looks like Kirk Cameron which already makes me wanna punch him. Poor Mike Seaver
Connor, Angel
When he came back for the last episodes he wasn't so bad... but I hated him through the rest
I was so fking happy when he was written out. Pity they didn't kill him off though
Justin Hammer, Iron Man 2
True. I later watched him in Three Billboards and he was brilliant. Hated him for Iron Man.
Load More Replies...Character is the worst, but I wouldn’t classify him as annoying
Pearl, SpongeBob SquarePants
Being forced to watch these with my kids I spent a lot of time working out how Mr Krabbs and Pearls' Mom managed to procreate
The theories are that he adopted her (do you really thing crab x whale would work?)
Load More Replies...Pearl is the type of girl who'd wind up on MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen.
Helen Lovejoy, The Simpsons
I do think of them. I think "I'd wish they'd shut up."
Load More Replies...Pitka, The Love Guru
This entire movie not just the character. It should be cut and thrown into the center of the sun.
Judith Harper, Two And A Half Men
Do you blame her, though? After over a decade with Alan, I'd be a neurotic wreck too.
Vicky, The Fairly OddParents
Amber Von Tussle, Hairspray
When Trump wouldn't concede that he lost, all I could think of was Amber Von Tussle clinging to her throne with her tiara and roses...
She was supposed to be cringy. That was John Waters intention. John Waters is a troll god. He can create characters who are so repulsive, but at the same time you're like, "Yeah I know folk like that".
Everyone in the Hairspray remake was terribly annoying. I do not recognize that movies existence.
Janice Soprano, The Sopranos
So was her brother and mother....and uncle....it was the whole family.
Load More Replies...She want even the most annoying character, but close. That award goes to The Rolling Stones tattoo on her boob.
Backpack, Dora The Explorer
backpack shouldnt get any hate...another character though?...I'm the map I'm the map I'm the map I'm the map I'm the map I'm the map I'm the map I'm the map. Burn it.
I don't remember which character it is, but one of them always says, "Where we go now?" Good job being an educational kid's show.
Fabienne, Pulp Fiction
Frederick Chilton, Hannibal, The Silence Of The Lambs
The last line in the movie, which actually referred to him, however, was gold. "I would like to chat longer, but... I'm having an old friend for dinner. Bye." Anthony Hopkins deserved that Oscar for that line alone.
Anthony Hopkins is one of the best actors of all times. I don't know if there is a movie where I didn't enjoy him.
Load More Replies...Is that Raul Esparza? Aka Rafael Barba from Law & Order: SVU? He's such a great actor.
Yes, and he was incredible on Hannibal. Ever heard him sing?
Load More Replies...All three actors who've played Chilton have made him totally loatheable so kudos to 'em all
Denzel Q. Crocker, The Fairly OddParents
Georgina Sparks, Gossip Girl
Wait... is that Dawn Summers, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Michelle Trachtenberger? Same actress made this list twice? I never saw Gossip Girl, but the reason she was hated on Buffy wasn't anything to do with the actress, simply a bad concept for her character. The actress handled a tough assignment well.
Rachel Ferrier, War Of The Worlds
Oh come on. She was a 9 year old kid. And she was WAY better than most kids in apocalyptic movies
I thought she did amazing for her age! Especially when she acted traumatized
Austin Powers, Austin Powers In Goldmember
Neither can I. Just the photo exasperates me so much!
Load More Replies...Never thought these movies were that great and Mike Myers supposedly is a real jerk to work with.
Ed Peletier, The Walking Dead
i was very happy when he got what he deserved
Load More Replies...Nute Gunray, Star Wars Universe
I don't know why you are being downvoted. I agree with you about the blatant racism.
Load More Replies...Jill Sadelstein, Jack And Jill
Darren Wilden, Pretty Little Liars
Sakura Haruno, Naruto
Walden Schmidt, Two And A Half Men
John Gilbert, The Vampire Diaries
Ivy Dickens, Gossip Girl
Kate, Days Of Our Lives
And Drake Ramore was trown down an elevator shaft
Load More Replies...You show me a soap opera character that isn’t annoying and I’ll eat my hat.
Diego, Dora The Explorer
Who is it who is entering every Dora the Explorer character to this thread?
Janice Hosenstein, Friends
I liked her, she was a wee bit nasal, but at least she wasn’t Ross.
Jenny Schecter, The L Word
OMG. Pretty much every character had a reason to want her dead. Some of the c**p she pulled was awful.
Carla, Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen
The Governor, The Walking Dead
Definitely not annoying, just totally psychotic and crazy (and very well acted)
Not annoying really, considering all that Negan did and everyone loves Negan
I hate Negan. I can't believe that someone around Negan wouldn't have just killed him at some point. he was too awful to last as long as he did.
Load More Replies...Dawn Summers, Buffy The Vampire Slayer
No! She was amazing. She was a teenager who was going through some tough stuff
Load More Replies...Urg she was SO annoying! Buffy had to take care of her, take care of her mom's funeral AND saving the world countless time, she DIED TWICE while doing so, at just like 21. Willow had to battle with magic addiction in consequence of using dark magic to bring back Buffy from the dead , Xander had to struggle to make a living and help saving the world in his free time and Dawn was like "boohoohoo I'm not the center of the attention". Well, it was a cra**y time for everyone, everyone tried their best and I think they did well considering their young age and global shi**y situation. I was so mad she stayed after the end of season 5. Should have remained a key.
She was very young. She had just lost her mother and essentially her father too. She had lost all of her caregivers, because Buffy was off saving the world (rightly so). Then of course finding out about the key. It was a lot for her too. Besides, which teenager isn’t the centre of their world? That’s exactly what being a teenager is for.
Load More Replies...Miley Stewart, Hannah Montana
First couple of seasons Hannah Montana weren't bad but Disney just had to milk the series as much as they could. I didn't like her as much in the later seasons.
Jack Sadelstein, Jack And Jill
Mary Corleone, The Godfather: Part III
Again, I think this one comes down to the portrayal rather than the character themselves.
Supposedly Rebecca Shaffer was up for the part until her death. Sofia Coppola has found her calling as a director though!
Load More Replies...It’s a shame the director putting his daughter in a role and is 80% of the criticism of GFIII
Bradley Martin, Bates Motel
Izzie Stevens, Grey's Anatomy
Susan Delfino, Desperate Housewives
Erica Kravid, Heroes Reborn
Jenna Marshall, Pretty Little Liars
Oz, American Pie Franchise
Please, if anyone was annoying in American Pie, it surely was Stifler. Being a sexist predator isn't cool now and wasn't cool then.
Stifler, then Kevin, then that little pie-f****r Jim.

Staff Sgt. Sean Dignam, The Departed
No way! He's the only reason Matt Damon's douchebag character gets his comeuppance!!
What?! He has, arguably, one of the best lines in the movie. "Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe fück yourself."
I didn't like him at first but the ending was totally worth it. He killed it! ( Pun intended)🤭
Excellent portrayal of the stereotypical Boston Assshole. And that stereotype is not entirely without merit.
Walder Frey, Game Of Thrones
Nah, he was just taking his frustration at Harry Potter, out on the Starks.
John Lutz, 30 Rock
More like John Putz, am I right? I'm kidding. I haven't seen 30 Rock yet.
Meg Masters, Supernatural
Seriously?!? Anyone who calls Meg "annoying" has either never seen Supernatural or is missing out on the details, because she was one of the best characters in the show! It's a shame she was killed off in season 8; I know Rachel Miner was diagnosed with MS, but I would've liked to see more of Meg as an ally of the Winchesters.
Henry Mills, Once Upon A Time
I think because he was finally an adult, and it just didn't seem right
Wendy Torrance, The Shining
Nah she's fine. Also after what Stanley Kubrick did to Shelley Duvall her performance shouldn't be criticised either.
Kubrick turned the strong female character that Stephen King developed into a sniveling whiner. Wendy Torrence was portrayed much better by Rebecca De Monay in the mini series which was under the creative control of Stephen King. He also made Jack Torrence a nice man who wanted to be good but was plagued by demons that were stronger than him and which led to his demise. However, at the end he sacrifices himself to save Danny which brought him redemption. It's really a great book.
Thanks for sharing this... I never read the book but I know S.King was very dissatisfied with the movie, and it makes sense knowng this.
Load More Replies...I used to think this... but I rewatched it a couple of years back after coming out of an abusive relationship and it changed my whole feeling about her... the scene where she's waving the baseball bat at him actually gave me nightmares
She’s a frustrating character. She made me feel like when I’m in a dream and my legs aren’t working to escape the monsters. A brilliant portrayal.
The first time I watched The Shining when I was a teenager, I found her annoying. The second time watching it as an adult, I feel bad for Wendy. She goes through a lot with what's happening to her son and husband. Shelley Duvall looked genuinely scared out of her mind. It's a shame what Kubrick did to her though.
Stephen King allows too much creative control in his films. He do not believe that he would have chosen someone who embodies the term "victim" in a way that not many people could empathize with her. I understood later on that Stanley Kubrick basically terrorised her throughout filming.
Roman Pearce, Fast & Furious Franchise
Honestly, I watched only the first two films and had a bit of a crush on Roman and Dom. Couldn't help it, didn't watch the rest hundred movies. Does it get THAT bad? :D
No it doesn't, Roman is definitely the funniest character in the whole franchise, wasn't annoying at all

Book character was goodish- movie character was terrible. Team Katniss Stays Single all the way.
Load More Replies...FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES WITH ME The book character was great but the casting was s**t
Have you seen the movies? This isn’t meant to be rude but a question so I can clarify if you’re confused
Load More Replies...Anakin Skywalker, Star Wars: Attack Of The Clones
Okay, no. This is his character arc. You’re supposed to hate/pity him by the end, yes, but he is not the least favorite character.
No. No. No. Blame it on the director or the writing if you want to, but his acting reminded me of those old car-dealership ads where they would hire a local sports celebrity who had absolutely zero acting training. It should be terrifying to watch a "hero" descend into the abyss of hatred, but instead, it's so poorly done that it's funny.
Load More Replies...My theory is that the whine is somehow genetic. Luke whined, Anakin whined, it skipped Leia, but the whine was strong her kid too.
The entire Skywalker clan is overy dramatic. I mean - Luke astral-projects a younger version of himself into a battle, Anakin as Vader stands on top of a Tie-fighter while it lands just to look menacing and Ben jr. throws tantrums whenever he feels like it
Load More Replies...I actually liked his scenes in Obi-Wan, but maaan he was sold down the river by the p**s awful script in the prequel trilogy, poor dude.
Derek Zoolander, Zoolander
Again, he's supposed to be annoying. Also "I think I'm getting the black lung pop" will never not be funny.
He was a pretty good eugoogalizer (or however it's spelled in the script) too.

Theon Greyjoy, Game Of Thrones
Don't agree with this one. I almost felt sorry for him the entire season he was Reek
For me he wasn't annoying. He was shown to be a flawed character since beginning unlike Stark sons. He suffered, he tried to make amends for what he did and he died protecting his brother. He was also more realistic for me than say Jon or Arya. He had his demerits but he wasn't really annoying IMO.
Ruby Rhod, The Fifth Element
William Turner, The Pirates Of The Caribbean Franchise
Without Will and Elizabeth there would be no movie. Sure some might think Jack Sparrow is the hero of the franchise but there's a reason the later movies failed and that was because they removed Will and Elizabeth: the heart of the movies.
But you have to watch them all, otherwise you don't get the end of Will and Elizabeth's story.
Load More Replies...I don’t find Will annoying at all. He’s one of my favorite characters in the Pirates franchise.
Nah, I'm definitely in the 'remove Elizabeth and Will from the franchise' camp.
Samwise Gamgee, The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy
How dare you! He was a true hero and the bestest friend to Frodo (though ok he was an a*s to Gollum).
Disagree - he was probably the most unadulterated hero of the films.
Let's see...was always the first to defend Frodo, whether necessary or not(against Aragorn at the Prancing Pony, the Nazgul on Weathertop, the Gondorian Rangers in Ithilien, Gollum, Shelob, etc.); willingly went with Frodo on a journey they both knew would most likely end in death; managed, through words alone, to convince Faramir to let them continue on their quest; took up the ring when he believed Frodo had died; killed the remaining orcs in the tower where Frodo was held prisoner; actually had the will to give the f***ing ring back to Frodo; and managed to save Frodo yet again when he was hanging off a cliff inside an active volcano. Oh yeah, VERY annoying. Seriously, who put this on here, friggin' Sauron?!?
Samwise was the best character in the whole franchise. Frodo was the absolute worst.
thank YOU! every time i watch this movie i will go off to whoever is listening about all the reasons why sam is the REAL hero and frodo is USELESS. "whoever is listening" is usually just my hubby so he's probably getting reeeaaaal sick of hearing it but i feel very strongly about it lol
Load More Replies...i feel like it kind of defeats the point of the list to put the show/movie's literal antagonists
Exactly! I knew maybe one of them. But aren't they supposed to be like that? For the good of the show/movie?
Load More Replies...This list is a mess. It mixes well-written, well-played villains (like Dolores Umbridge or Joffrey Baratheon), which are not supposed to be likable, with annoying protagonists that are badly written and/or badly played. Not the same thing at all.
You as adult can't just judge any character which is meant for kids. Because kids could find them amazing and a nice behaviour pattern. Same for the teen stories characters. Maybe the author of this is a grumpy boomer xD
Can I include most children that appear in movies, the kids Jurassic Park springs to mind.
Buttercup from “The Princess Bride”. She’s useless and insufferable. When she’s not being a stuck-up brat to Westley she’s moping around waiting to be rescued.
Some of these are just written badly, like Bella swan, but some were created to make you hate them like Umbridge
Or, also missing: the woman in Stephen King's Misery!!! Magnificent performance by Kathy Bates (is supposed to be horrible and unlikeable though, so maybe not right for this list?).
