What a lucky owner ☺️. As well. Just keep your eyes open when she's on the lead, if there are squirrels or rabbits in your area. Greyhounds have truly astonishing acceleration, and if you are not paying attention, you will bite the dust.

Yogurt sometimes helps, and charcoal biscuits. A lifetime of being purged before races leaves it's mark, though it's illegal these days I don't doubt it still happens. But generally speaking, their gas should be banned under the Geneva convention on warfare

My Girlfriend till I ADOPTED HER & She Became My WIFE .. And She Could Not and Be NOT,, Without a Greyhound and we had Three of them. Till King came inside that day,,, he told us something was really wrong. He kept putting his head under Debi's {my wife} hand and flipping it to his neck. Then he would Leap Forward. Her hand would slide to his butt area. And King would stick his Tail Up & Out. So her hand was stop by that area. After the third or fourth time Debi Rubbed that area. We thought his Hips were Hurting. We had some aspirins type for dogs. But that was Not it at all. Debi went to stand up, She Let OUT A SCREAM AND BANG ON THE FLOOR SHE WENT AND KING LET OUT A HOWL SO LOUD AND HE WENT DOWN ON THE FLOOR ALSO !!!!!! I adopted one a few years ago. She's gone now, but she was so full of personality. I had to take her out once a day and let her get her zoomies out, then the rest of the time she was a couch loaf. These animals need to be loved and pampered. If I could have dogs now, I'd do it again.

A clipped eartip means she's been trapped, neutered, and returned to her colony, which controls the population without euthanizing cats. The volunteers that do this will now know at a glance that she doesn't need to be trapped and spayed again, and will leave her where she is. Unless, of course, she starts acting friendly enough to go into a program to find her a home. :)

we have one of those only a tortie. she wasn't sure how to be a cat so the colony didn't accept her when her mom weaned her. I fed her outdoors for well over a year down the street and then just took her home. She's 10 now.

Needless to say, it’s important to follow the news and show our support to people in need. However, "Staying connected to the media hours a day and seeing images of violence, despair and loss can change the course of somebody’s day, week, or even life," Botwin told Bored Panda.
It seems that human beings are hardwired to feel some amount of empathy and sorrow for others going through adversities. We may not be physically present, but we still feel our hearts race and our emotions going on high alert. "People report that when they are attached to social media, they experience many more feelings of depression, anxiety, and some even develop PTSD just from seeing images of trauma," the therapist explained.

I had a Russian Blue who did the same, he would also follow us to the store, just like a dog. When he got tired, we would pick him up a let him ride on our shoulders, around our necks. Unfortunately he was stolen by a neighbor who moved out of State (a pox on her)

You are protected by a seat belt and an airbag. Your poor cat however has no such protection, and will be launched at the windshield in a collision. Although it's cute and cozy to have your cat on your shoulder driving the car it's not safe for the cat. What were you thinking? People need to stop doing unsafe things like this, or we'll see a lot more animals in the vets emergency trauma unit.

How awesome, a friend of mine has a cat who rides with him on his Harley Davidson!!! He has a little protective carrier so he can sit in front of him with his head in the wind. And the cutest little cat helmet I've ever seen. P.s he wears a little leather cat outfit with protective gear like his dad.
Hearing devastating news can lead to feeling unrest and worry, which is completely justified. Yet, we need to detect these feelings before things get out of hand. Botwin said that if you notice your eating habits changing, or that you’re struggling to sleep or want to sleep all the time — "that’s an indication that your stress levels are going through the roof."
She told us that when we’re feeling anxious, tension levels might also increase in our relationships. "For instance, some people report that when they’re really stressed out, they end up taking it out on the people that they love the most." While emotions might be heightened, it’s important to remember that our loved ones are there to support and help us deal with traumatic events, so snapping at them could damage your connection to them.
"It is so easy to get caught up in the news of the world. Being mindful and aware of how much time you spend on social media is very important," she suggested. "Even when there are horrible things happening around us, ultimately, it is still most important that we take good care of ourselves."

I've been a hooman to dogs and cats my whole life. When my now husband asked me to move in with him I said yes on the condition that we adopt 2 cats (my mom didn't want to part with the two we adopted together). We went to the local shelter and are proud parents to two crazy kitties, Jon Snowcat and Samwell Tarlycat. For "not being a cat guy, " Sam and Jon have my husband wrapped around their little kitty fingers. ❤❤❤

Quite a few years ago, I wanted to rent a flat. Checking the place and talking with the landlord, we discussed his objection to having animals. I owned a cat. Just then out of the blue a little mouse jumped us before running into a small hole. He allowed me to have my cat.

"Through the years, I have met so many clients that have adopted cats and dogs, and then have told me it’s changed the course of their lives moving forward. When people struggle with things like depression, anxiety, and PTSD, they use their pets as a source of comfort and hope," she told Bored Panda.
"In my life earlier, when I was in recovery from extensive childhood abuse, I adopted a dog. On many occasions, I had a choice to act on feelings of self-destruction or look at my dog and say she is the thing that needs me, and this is why I will continue to take good care of myself. Just a helpful hint..don’t let her spend too much time outside in the sun. Pure white cats are more subject to develop skin cancer. My friends cat Luna had to have the tips of her ears removed due to this issue

we had a senior cat named Kitty. she was so perfect. after we lost our dog, and adopted a kitten who ran away and never came back, she was the medicne we needed. Espcially my mom. Kitty would always sit next to her. and my Autisct brother sadly she died of cancer. One thing i learned from a co worker is that cat's usally won't let you know they are sick. so who knows how long she had been suffering just to keep us happy. Took her to the vet and docs surpsied she lived this long considering how much the cancer spread. It was time to put her down, mom assrued her that we'd be fine and thanked her. Guess thats all she needed to know cause even before the doc put her to sleep,she passed quietly... it still makes me sad honestly... but thank you Kitty. (after words we got a dog named Cooper. he was shy at first but now is a happy bow who loves sun bathing and food.) Edit: this cat reminds me of her casue that was what Kitty looked like

When I adopted my kitty at six months, he’d also been in the shelter for five months. He literally didn’t know how to jump up on things. He kept trying to eat all of my other cat’s food, and all we had to do was feed her in a shelf three off the ground. Only worked for a couple of months though. He became a champion jumper and irrepressible counter surfer! He was my best boy!

I rescued 2 cats from a neighbor that left them they had grown up in the same house. Even though she's tiny and hes big they Chase each other through the house and have a great time. It really increases all the happiness in the house.

Give it a month. Betta color up intensely as they adjust to proper surroundings. Always use a heater set to a minimum of 78°F and watch out for that plant- it isn't a true aquatic.

So, you work at home? And does your boss monitor your activity? Then you know what to do: train those sweethearts to pound the keyboard by telling them they mustn't touch the keyboard. It gives you ample opportunity to go to the toilet, get a sandwich and make coffee.

Sometimes I'm a bit jealous when I see those cut rescue cat pictures. You see, when I adopt, I adopt the more difficult cases. My last one Tijgertje lived in the attic for two weeks before he showed himself downstairs. Went up often to search for him (didn't find him at least three times and panicked) to sit there and just talk to him. Much later he managed to go outside through a chipped cat flap (how?) and went missing for a day and a half. Had a cat missing report filed for him. Found him while pushing some logs back in the pile firewood: mieuw... He is still a very nervous cat but does lay beside me nowadays, as long as I don't move...

Some useful tips, adopting siblings are great, however, they can be a bit tougher to train because they have such a strong bond. When you walk them, put one on each side of you, same for training. Good luck and congratulations

Can confirm with sibling pups. They’re also likely to develop separation anxiety over each other so it’s good to train them to know that it’s okay if they aren’t with their sibling

Please don't do this. Those feeders turn into 2 foot fishes or you'll stunt them and they'll die quick. I have "feeder comets" that I've had for a decade and they are in a 9 foot (800 gallon) tank and 500 gallon 2 person tub. I have around 9 of them, 4 off them were rescued from rescuers that had this same idea. Please be prepared. My largest is 25 inches smallest is a dwarf and 9 inches but fins make it 16. Goldfish are truly pond fish not meant for traditional (mass marketed) aquariums. Black moors, bubble eyed, fantails and pearlscales are really the only goldfish that can be kept in normal home aquariums of 30+ gallons.

I used to get feeder fish for my snake. There are lizards that will eat feeder fish too. I bought some as a check to see if they would survive in the pond I made. I have one that is now 5-6 years old. It over winters in the pond. I keep a bubbler or water circulator of some kind running to keep oxygen in the water and to prevent it from freezing completely. We live in northern Ohio. It has been joined by a couple Koi.

Apparently you can use them as "feeder fish" to live feed other fish, although I read that they have very little nutritional value and it's better to feed pellets instead. And way less cruel.

I started to have night asthma attacks and found out I was allergic to cats and dogs shortly after welcoming the fourth cat of my life into the family. It didn't even cross my mind to get rid of her. I'm going through immunotherapy and am using an inhaler but I cannot imagine my life without cats and pets. unnamed-62...7cfdb1.jpg

The cats remind me of my bois. Urianger and Alphinaud were 1-2 years old when we adopted them, they are now 3-4. I was the first person Alphinaud reacted positively towards and my husband looked at Urianger, urianger meowed at him. The shelter introduced them and both boys were indifferent to each other and only interested in human attention. Now they sleep against eachother all day when they aren't demanding attention. We were gonna adopt 2 girls but the lady fetching them for us was dumb and insisted we only see one at a time, and it wasn't until the next day the shelter tried putting the girls together and they immediately tried to destroy eachother, and we had to come back and find new friends. Alphinaud is the first cat I have ever known to hop up and get in my face for cheek kisses. He will head bonk me till I start overly dramatic kissing his cheek and he will merely and start purring so loud. It's like he had never been loved before >.<
