Even though bangs are great, how they turn out doesn’t just depend on who cuts your hair (whether it’s you yourself or your trust stylist… if they’re even open during the Covid-19 pandemic). Some people naturally wear bangs better than others.

Oprah Magazine writes that you should be honest with yourself about why you want bangs: whether you actually want a fringe cut or if you simply want a change. If it’s the latter, you can always go for something that suits you better instead of going for a quarter-bowl-cut.

I Love My New Cut I Just Had To Share
Whatever length you decide to go for, bangs need to be trimmed around every two to three weeks. If you let them grow too long, soon enough you won’t be able to see anything around you (unless that’s what you’re aiming for because of how difficult the last year has been) or your hair will start curling weirdly at the ends. As someone whose sideburns start curling in a really, really bizarre way whenever they end up too long or I wash my hair, I feel this pain.

I feel like we’ve all done this at least once, though, especially during the pandemic (from buzzcuts and trims to bangs and ‘I’m-never-leaving-the-house-again’). Dove celeb stylist Mark Townsend told Oprah Mag that it’s very noticeable when bangs are uneven because they’re right above your face. So they need a professional’s touch.

Good decision. Bangs bring more attention to your amazing eyes.
However, if you’re not afraid of experimenting a tad and you’ve got the self-confidence of a star, go for it! But in that case, if you plan on cutting your hair and trimming your bangs quite often, it’s probably not a bad idea to invest in some quality tools. Why settle for a pair of rusty and wobbly kitchen scissors when you can get something ideally suited for cutting hair? We know, we know, it’s the skill, not the tool that’s important, but why make it harder for yourself to look beautiful?

Like the bangs - would take about 3-4" off the length of the rest of the hair to properly set off your face. You're very pretty. Don't let it all be about the hair.
Celeb stylist Laura Polko on the other hand believes that heart-shaped faces are wonderful when it comes to matching them to any type of bangs. They’re also a youth-focused hairstyle, so they’ll end up de-aging you quite a bit. Of course, your wardrobe and body language both have to fit your youthful and energetic hair!

Finally, here’s a very practical note: you’ll want to take extra care of your forehead after you get a fringe. Your skin might break out because your bangs, with all of the wonderful products you put in it day-in and day-out, will be touching your forehead. So exfoliate often and do whatever it takes to make sure your pores are open and unclogged.

You can take it out and put it back in if you need to put on lip product, and eating/drinking would take like three seconds of practice. If she's kept it then she's probably comfortable with it.

I've had bangs my whole life, yup, not one pic without them. They're just part of me. Straight, jagged, fluffy, curled etc... I'm always shocked when they're in style because I never think of them as out of style.

Speaking as a licensed cosmetologist once again I loved all of the pictures. The one mistake most people make when giving themselves bangs is that they cut them too short, didn't see any of that here. If you are unsure have a professional do them or always start long and proceed slowly from there or get some false ones to try them out for awhile. Do you 😀

I always think I want bangs, then I get bangs, then I wake up with said bangs sticking straight up or over to the side then after 10 minutes of fighting with them with a blow dryer or curling iron, I remember why I hate bangs.
