Amazing that so many people are willing to make a permanent decision based on a temporary fad. Tramp stamps were all the rage at one time and now they're a mark of shame and embarrassment. Seriously think before getting permanent ink based on a trend.

I have one and will never be embarrassed of it cause it's awesome and not something that was a fad or something stupid. Also, why would anyone be embarrassed of their tattoos? They are a personal choice for most so wgaf about what other people think of them. I certainly could give a s**t What anyone thinks of my ink. I didn't do it for them or cause of some trendy a*s fad.

I guess they would have done that if it was the other hand but since in western cultures we tend to interpret from left, to right, it would seem like the plant if "de-growing" back into a seed (which would be a cool concept; tho)

As someone who has hand tattoos on both sides, the palms will only last 2-3 months at the most and the front ones needs constant touching up, only recommended if you regularly go for tattoo sessions so you can touch them up frequently. I had a devil on my right palm about a year ago and there is absolutely nothing left of it at all. Also hand tattoos are mega visible, i was already an established manager in my work place but my boss told me outright he wouldn't of employed me if i had hand tattoos years ago when i got the job, i told him it should be based on performance, ability and attitude.

I guess I'm just getting too old at 35 because most of those looks ridiculous to me. But hey, that's not my body so if it makes you happy to get a pointless doodles tattooed on you for years to come, go for it.

The simple ones will probably last, but the detailed coloured ones will fade. I have a small heart on my hand (the fleshy part above my index finger, not the palm) that is definitely fading, but it's still easy to see what it is. Had it done with my first real paycheque back in the early '80s. It was totally red with a skinny black outline then. Now it's just a blurred black line in the shape of a heart. Bought a pita lunch the other day and the young man that handed me the food had the exact same one in the same place on his hand. His was only a couple of years old and blurry on purpose, which made me laugh as we compared ink. I'm 55 and he was about 22. Made us both giggle :-)
