I find this to be a clever juxtaposition. When you stop to think about the original American Gothic, now throw in Kim and Kanye, and you can't help thinking about the TV series... everything just became a lot more creepy and unpleasant.
It's an insult to hard working farmers and their equally hard working wives. These two are like cancerous growth , just feed off the workers.
