Hippolyte Bayard, a pioneer of photography who claimed to have invented photography earlier than Daguerre, was one of the first to stage a shot. His “Self Portrait As A Drowned Man” was a reaction to not being recognized as the first photographer.

The dog is simply too close to the camera for its shadow to show on the picture, I guess it would have been right under the frame level. No photoshop needed here.

It's running up and incline. You can't see the shadow because it's below your field of view.

this is the only photo, to me, that actually looks like a giant dog and not just that the dog is closer to the camera as with the other photos

Pug! I love how pugs sit! Every pug I've ever lived with, every pug I've ever known, they all sit like this. I just can't get enough of this photo! I love everything about it! Bravo!

Sitting this was I'd a sign or back end pain or troubles. Pugs sit this way because of bad hips. My husky/pit sits this way too, because of her malformed pelvic bone. You can ask any vet or animal chiropractor and they will tell you sitting like this is the first sign something is wrong.

Um, we barely understand the world we live in. The science our top minds know is still scratching the surface in the grand scheme of how the universe works! And to claim man and beast 'support each other' is absolutely ludicrous; as an WWF supporter I can tell you one thing for certain: Man does NOT support beast in third world countries, where innocent animals are being killed to make medicine or for poaching. SOME people support beast, and many beast support man, but this is not a given fact; the vast majority do not.
