People Are Sharing The Worst Scandals That Happened At Their Schools, And Here Are 40 Of The Darkest Ones
Every school has a story to tell. Whether it's about their students fighting, falling in love, or the staff members doing those exact same things, there's plenty of drama. And who better to talk about it than the people who witnessed it firsthand?
Interested in these stories, Reddit user u/Lost-Warning-2588 posted a question on the platform, asking: "What's the worst scandal to happen at your school?" And their curiosity was awarded. Below, you will find a collection of some of the darkest answers people left in the comments. Tales that, I'm guessing, were supposed to stay on the premises.

First week of high school. PE class, the first section was swim. wasn’t my class, but the class after. This kid was playing a game with his friends in the water—who could hold their breath the longest. He was going up for air and hit head on the pointy part of the gutter, and never made it to the surface. Friends didn’t notice, teacher didn’t notice. Eventually football players coming back to the locker rooms noticed. He ended up dying. Teacher was fired although I wouldn’t fully blame him as he was attending and teaching kids who didn’t know how to swim or weren’t strong swimmers. One adult for over 60 kids?? That’s the schools fault
All at fault. Teacher should have noticed if the pool was empty, class does seem large, but should have had a buddy system or something to help keep track of students. Such a unnecessary accident.
Plus you just don't let kids go into the water if you cannot supervise them. Simple as that.
Load More Replies...Sorry 1 person for 60 rowdy kids who cant swim? Thats bullshit. My stepmom has 3 kids and she wont take them to the beach without grandma to help, because 1 person cant reasonably look after even 3 kids in the water. Forget the time, it takes no time at all for someone to drown, 1 moment of inattention and thats it. How do you even keep track of 60 kids on land? This litteraly wrongful death and completely the fault of the school. They failed to act in a reasonable and responsible maner.
Am I the only one thinking "pointy part of the gutter" ? Why was that a thing. All the pools I have been in are smooth transitions with nothing to catch yourself on. This sounds like a terrible design if someone surfacing for air can hit themselves on it.
some pools have bars running round the edge for kids to hang off, these can be placed in front of the water gutters, I guessing that's what he hit. BUT your right there are still no pointy parts
Load More Replies...Very tragic. I would have to say the school was at fault. No teacher should be in a 60 to 1 ratio with kids in or out of the water. The schools expectations are way to extreme. Definitely worthy of a wrongful death suit but that doesn't bring this precious life back.
That's what I was thinking. Who regulates these things there? In Australia teachers aren't even allowed to have ratios that high on land, it's more like 1:33. In the pool the classes are run by the local pool and their ratio is like 1:10.
Load More Replies...1 teacher, 60 kids, no other lifeguards, that's a recipe for disaster! The teacher shouldn't have been fired, the district should have been sued. I was an aquatics professional for about 15 years. I was always taught the max recommended lifeguard to swimmer ratio is 1:25, although admittedly not all facilities enforced it strictly. And teaching the largest class size I have ever seen was 1 teacher to 10 students, although with beginners 1:5 is more reasonable, and in a swim team sort of situation with competent lap swimmers you could probably go a bit higher. Also there should always be a lifeguard on duty in addition to the teacher.
not sure on this one- I used to teach swimming- 60+ kids in one session perhaps but there would have been assistance. no way would this have been legal. Plus last thing you do even with able body swimmers is check the pool is clear.
Your teacher definitely isn't fully at fault, but he is partly at fault. He shouldn't have allowed kids into the water if he couldn't watch them all.
*laughs nervously in hopping into the pool specifically because my teacher told me not to

had a strict dress code that if the girls broke had to change into clothes provided by the school. turns out vice principal had a camera going in the dressing room...
Ah yes, the schools with rules about women dressing decently time and time again turn out to be run by perverts. It should be obvious, if you see a childs shoulder and it makes you lose your s**t, guess what? Its not the girls fault, theres something wrong with YOU? Shes not trying to seduce you, youre just a filthy pervert.
Ours was strict enough that we had to have specific school brand underwear, and they checked too. You got detention for not following dress code, no changing or sneaky cameras afaik. I don't blame anyone for breaking it, the school brand bras never did stock a bra size that fit.
Well, if this person knows about it then obviously the vp was caught.
Load More Replies...Devious bastard. So did ours skirts below the knees, no jeans on guys, no slacks or jeans on girls. Any deviation you were sent home boy did we deviate!
Why no jeans, and no pants for girls? Was it a religious school? Why not have an actual uniform? It makes things much easier, as it is not one person's idea of 'reveling' driving it. And you don't have a difference based on what your parents could afford because everyone has to have the same?

My middle school banned hugging and hand holding during course changes because it blocked the hall. In protest all the Eighth Graders stood up and hugged each other during their lunch period. A bunch of students got detention. Made the cover of the Charlotte Observer.
People are applauding this but I don't get it. Hugging and hand holding wasn't banned entirely, just during course changes because "it blocked the hall". Blocking the hall is a bad thing, it makes people late for class. Wouldn't you be annoyed if you were walking down an aisle at a store but couldn't get to the stuff you wanted because people were hugging or couples were walking hand in hand?
So just ban blocking the hallway and punish people for that.
Load More Replies...Guys, I'm not sure, but I think this is it. What are the odds of having the exact same info? => https://www.huffpost.com/entry/north-carolina-eighth-gra_n_1943507
Load More Replies...Not too lang ago on BP: Meme about how annoying kissing and hugging students in the hallway are. For exactly this reason.
My middle school also banned hugging, but because it "excluded people" because people would only hug their friends. Not sure how they thought banning hugs was going to fix the issue really....
I think that's one of the reasons my school gave. They revoked the rule pretty quickly.
Load More Replies...Sometimes i feel like schools are run by people who genuinely are sadists who hate others. Its almost like those are the kind of people who would find being in a position of power, where they can abuse those who cant fight back a perfect job. Kinda like someone whos extremely violent and likes degrading people and menacing them might be drawn to be, say, a police man? Naw probably just coincidence that so many teachers and priests are pedophiles and so many police men beat up and kill people.
Senior year, there was a freak snow storm in April, during which the quietest & nicest stoner in our class went missing. A day later they found his car in a ditch, and a week later when the snow melted, they found his body. He’d crashed and, in his presumed high af state, gotten out to walk for help with no coat on. He eventually found a telephone pole & sat down against it to rest and was believed to have frozen to death in the storm. Seeing his mom at her only child’s funeral still haunts me.
That's not a dark scandal. It's heartbreaking to be honest and should not be in this thread
IF YOU DRINK AND DRIVE YOU'RE A BLOODY IDIOT! IF YOU DRIVE UNDER THE INFLUENCE YOU'RE OUT OF YOUR HEAD! Two of the biggest traffic ads we have in Australia.
Load More Replies...I knew a man whose son got drunk and couldn’t sort himself out enough to get inside the house. He died of exposure in his family’s garden.
Long story short the principal got arrested for hiding cameras in the bathroom this was back in elementary he was a total creep
I hope that before going to prison he got neutered…with two bricks.
This is why people who focus on stranger danger bug me. Crimes perpetrated on children are almost always someone they know who was grooming them and their family or had access to children. Bottom line: sadly, predators go where their prey is.
Seems like a security officer needs to check the school for this invasive device.
Not that scandalous. A friends stuff kept going missing, like books and pens. It didn't stop even after multiple complaints from him and the teachers didn't really care.
His mom screamed at the teachers and the principal did her own "investigation" and concluded that it was a boy who stole from that guy.
The principal decided to call the male students parents to talk to them.
After a year, it turns out that the thief was a girl and she yeeted the guys stuff out the window because the guy was bullying her.
But someone else was falsely accused of stealing. I can't cheer this one.
Load More Replies...As a female I was bullied by two guys one was the Vice Principal son (he could do no wrong of course) I reported him and his cohort after they beat me up in the back parking lot. I did no good. I bided my time I was a strong girl into sports. I waited until they did something in the school - at my locker bending over sonny boy pushed me head first into the locker I regained my composure picked the little bastard up by his shirt which tore and shoved his entire body in my locker and shut the door. That got a laugh. I of course was tossed out of school but a teacher defended me and called the kid a little SOB who should be kept on a leash. he was fired. The brats dad was promoted to principal. That's how things went in schools in the late 50's!
Oh the secret pleasure she must have had, every time one of his pens went flying through the window. I can really feel this one.
When in middle school, the school forced us to give our phones to the vice principal, and they would stay there “locked” during the day. They got stolen. Around 120 smartphones
This is exactly the reason why I never gave up my phone. I always just hid mine in a secret pocket in my schoolbag.
Same here I don't understand how people can be so glued to their screens they break the rules for a overpriced piece of tech
Load More Replies...This is why some schools have phone lockers, tiny little lockers for the phones
But is it not possible to break in to those aswell..?
Load More Replies...I graduated from high school 13 years before the first cell phone hit the market. (Edited to correct a typo)
Yeh like, how did we cope lol. I remember going home when it got dark (in summer) and my parents couldn't get hold of me and didn't know where I was. I got picked up by Military Police more than once 😂
Load More Replies...I had a boss who tried this but the place where I worked was such an unmitigated disaster I didn't trust my phone would be safe. I told her I left it at home and she couldn't believe it. It was in my purse - and I just never used it at work. That should be the standard anyways - not having to treat employees like children.
Yeah I have heard of some childcare workers having to do this. I personally (I'm a kindergarten teacher) can't understand how you would have time to be using it when not on break, children are time consuming. Mind you I have only really worked in sessional kinders (where the children are 3-4 year olds and the longest session is 7 hours). If my one 2 week placement in the babies room when I was studying is anything to go by, that can get very boring, especially if they are all asleep, but that's when you are supposed to do paperwork.
Load More Replies...Taking phones from students is all fine and dandy until a type 1 diabetic that has a dexcom ends up in a diabetic coma from either too high or too low of blood sugar. My sons dexcom notifies him of highs and lows through his phone.
Surely that would be exempt? Then again, from what I have read on this site, American schools don't always take these things into account.

The principal slept with a student and his nudes & sexts were leaked
What a vile pos preying on the students 😑! Damn what's wrong with these people!
This seems to be happening more and more. I was so shocked when one female teacher was sleeping with a 13 or 14 year old boy. Like that's just a baby!
Load More Replies...That's called rape. No sense for euphemisms here. There's a major power imbalance. A student cannot consent with their principal. You had a principal rape a student.
Yeah, and very likely the student was groomed first.
Load More Replies...Yep everybody knew it but back in those days privacy could be kept private - which means no proof available!
Other than the fact that the principal was a pervert for a start, he was also a low IQ idiot for second, for actually taking photos, and keeping them on his phone is even dumber, for third.
why teachers do that like your suppose to teach students not fill em
Our geography teacher slept with a six-former, and once she'd passed A levels, she moved into his flat . . . school happy, parents happy and because she was over-sixteen, nothing the law could do! Quakers!
My former high school got on the news for having a history teacher lie for four years about being a decorated war hero. Guy claimed to have not one, but TWO Purple Hearts, among other things, and never even served a day in the military. (Edit: I can’t directly link to articles because of doxxing, but I’m sure you can find it on Google.)
But it gets juicier: The truth came out because his ex-wife exposed him, sending evidence he was making it all up to local news stations and the school. Why’d she do it? The history teacher was having an affair with another teacher in my school.
We had a lot of weird teachers at my school, but I think this story shows just how much the administration hardly vetted teachers, like holy sh*t. We also had a guidance counselor get the boot for being a racist, but that’s another story that didn’t get as much publicity.
It's a shame the racist counselor story didn't get more attention. That probably directly impacted students a lot more than a teacher lying about his past and having an affair.
Kinda like Bill Clinton vs Trump. One of those killed 800 000 americans, openly bragged about sexually harassing women, and was a POS racist against mexicans, and the other got an affair with a subordinate. Guess which got the Peach? The one who did the least damage.
Load More Replies...i would rather hear about the racist counciler like what the f**k he be saying like talks normally to a white kid but when an asian comes in he starts singing ching chong
When it comes to children some "PEOPLE" are very "ATTRACTED" to professions that include kids!
As someone who has worked in the school system, there are A LOT more relationships and yes, even affairs, between teachers than students have any idea about.
It's because we work 60 hour weeks and our colleagues are pretty much the only people we see.

Two teen pregnancies, same dude
Let me guess "abstinence only"? This feels more like a failure of the educational system than a scandal.
We had one like this. Unfortunately, while I was class rep, I didn't know about it as I probably would have ended up being kicked out of school, but I would have torn the principal a new one. You see, the girl was "asked to leave so she can focus on her pregnancy", the guy got to graduate. Still pisses me off and it was a decade ago.
Two teen pregnancies, same PE teacher. He married one and the other killed herself. Religious schools are fked up man
In my school a 14 year old got pregnant by her 22 year old bf. Apparently she lied about her age. Don't know if police were involved or anything but years later they're still together and had 3 more kids.
What am I missing here? Teenage boy makes two teenage girls pregnant, why are some commenters blaming the education system? How can the school be blamed because of the sexual indulges of teenagers? This is an honest question, as I do not understand.
A sixth grade got pregnant at a school in my district (Halloween party)
Lol. There was a kid in my town who was a friend of a friend named Joey. By the time he was 20 Joey was baby daddy of 10 different girls. TEN.
My cousin definitely did that. 2 kids, a month apart. He had 4 kids and an ex-wife already by the age of 20 and is expecting the 6th kid, now from his 2nd wife (the 4th woman to become a mother thanks to him). My aunt and uncle work day and night mostly to pay for their grandkids' pensions. Father, of course, absent and unemployed.
In 1999, four girls from my high school went on a six-week-long armed robbery spree. They knocked over four convenience stores and a bakery before police caught them. This happened in a conservative middle-class suburb, and altogether the girls got away with less than $5000, which might have been the most scandalous part. If they’d gone into subprime lending I’m sure their parents would have been very proud of them.
Hey Scipio! I am only here to reply because I saw you're using a picture of Ambrose Burnside! He was my Great Great Great Grandfather :) That is all!

My English teacher in the 11th grade was sleeping with the WHOLE girls basketball team in exchange for straight A’s. I actually failed English that year but when that made the news my school said I didn’t have to go anymore because he wasn’t doing the grading properly. Everyone who had his class got a B
Let me rephrase that: "English teacher sexually abused and blackmailed the entire female basketball team because if they didn't have sex with him, he would fail them for his class."
Thank you! All of these titles about teachers/principals having sex with students are ridiculous. They are sexually assaulting them.
Load More Replies...Unfair for the students who really earned an A to be downgraded to B over this
That's what I was thinking. There are some kids who get straight A's/strict parents/need all A's for Colleges, etc. So unfair on them!

The Harlem Shake was a craze. We had an RE teacher who desperately enjoyed being the popular teacher so he got in on the craze. Invited 40 pupils from my year to his classroom at lunch and filmed his own Harlem Shake video (which in itself would’ve been against safeguarding rules). Thing is, he also taught sex ed, so everyone got into his cupboard before the start of the video for ‘props’. The video was essentially a group of 14 year olds throwing dildos and condoms around the room while he, of his own accord, grinded on a life-size cutout of the Pope. He was suspended under investigation for half a year but surprisingly kept his job. He was lot more professional when he returned.
I call bullshit on this. In what country does high school sex education involve dildos?
They could have been used to show the kids how to put on condoms and stuff like that. I haven't heard of it either, but it's still possible some do.
Load More Replies...Why do you leave dildos in a cupboard. "And now, Amanda come help demonstrate how to use this!"
It's scary how many teachers are seeking validation from their students and trying to act like members of their peer groups. So many adults with severe boundary issues, engaging in risky behavior with children. It makes you think that maybe there should be some kind of psychological exam before you get your teaching certification. SMH
Ah, but then we would have even fewer teachers! What's worse, a slightly unhinged individual being responsible for your child's education or classes of 50? Most of us, although a little crazy, are essentially harmless.
Load More Replies...Although this is a stratospheric level of bad judgement it doesn't read like he caused any kind of harm to the students. I would say disciplinary action and some training would make far more sense, particularly if he was otherwise a popular and good teacher.
When the Religion teacher cheated on her husband with the Math teacher
All right, I’m not gonna lie, I see potential for a great joke or jokes, involving empirical data, certainty, maybe even a priest…
I might be wrong but I thought “religion teachers” were supposed to teach about the most prominent world religions. I didn’t read this as a teacher of specifically the Bible for instance, but more likely an agnostic who touches on everting, including the math teacher apparently.
Two things. Both in middle school.
I was at home on a Sunday watching the news with my mom when all of a suden my 6th grade teachers mugshot showed up and it said that her and her husband were pulled over and the police found like 6 pounds of high grade weed , lead to a search warrant for their home and they literally slept on a inflatable mattress. The whole house was a grow op. She did look like a hippy but I don't understand, she was not mellow at all. She was a b*tch.
In 8th grade, one of my friends parents had cancer, he thought it was a good idea to bring some of their meds to school and hand them out like candy. These were strong strong meds , and not all of them were pain pills. At least 5 kids overdosed 2 of them had siezures , no one died thankfully.
Little bugger needed more than a slap on the wrist!
Load More Replies...The poor parent. Having to deal with this s**t on top of being sick. And the poor kid for being so royally screwed they thought this was a good idea.
In his defense, 14 year olds are generally idiots even when they're not watching their parent die. Horrible story for everyone.
Load More Replies...Stealing life-saving medication from your own parent, wtf. Was the friend a sociopath?
@Aeon---many chemotherapy drugs are given via pill form. Those drugs help to poison the cancer cells. So YES, they most certainly are life saving.
Load More Replies...The first one, maybe she was just part of the grow operation and didn't partake of the product. The second one, that's completely crazy and sad that the student would steal their extremely ill parent's meds and hand them out to get attention and friends, put their lives in danger, and take them away from their parent. I hope they had to suffer some real consequences for their actions. That's disgusting behavior.
when i was 14, i literally published a research paper on HIV, and this kid was giving out his parents cancer meds? lmao what an utter idiot
It sadly ends up being a life lesson. A friend of mine once decided to try another friend's Ritalin. Don't take this if you don't need this. We genuinely thought he had died. I'm just the uncool kid who watched her own parents do drugs and was deathly afraid of anything not Tylenol.
Physical education teacher hit the principle on the head because he protested the students being treated roughly during sports class
I hope he was prompty fired. You don't abuse your students and you certainly don't model violent behavior against your boss.
Had a PE teacher who made a girl run laps because she said she dis not feel well. Girl died 12 hours layer in Hospital!
PE teacher hit me so hard I flew across the room! In 2001 I went to a reunion (organised by Tom Robinson . . . 2,4,6,8, Tom Robinson) and reminded the teacher (in front of witnesses) and he said he'd do it again because I'd probably deserved it! He was a vicious bully with no class and no conscience, but he's probably dead now, so I won't mention his sorry-arsed name. I joined the army and served in the infantry, he stayed bullying kids; those who can do, those who can't teach.
Phrases like that are why you get teachers like this POS. Stop treating teaching as if it's a negative, or you'll only ever have negative teachers.

Was my favourite science teacher... until we found out that he rolled up girls skirts
The head of my high school math department, who was also the head of the school honors society ,was well known for being hostile to girls in his classes and showering attention on the boys. He would invite male honors students to his cabin for retreats and make them do pushups in their underwear. These were the stories that were going around when I was in school, it later turned out, not surprisingly, that he had molested many of them. The school administration knew about this stuff and yet turned a blind eye for many years. He was allowed to retire instead of facing charges and when he died his laudatory facebook obit was ripped by former students who called him out for the pedophile that he was.
Why protect children when we can blame them istead while putting them in dangerous situations where they have no authority and then protect pedophiles instead. Bonus points when they grow up messed up and religious f***s protecting pedophiles then shame them for f*****g up their own lives.
Load More Replies...My science teacher peeked into the girls changing room, unfortunately for him one of the girls he looked at had a brother who wasn't the kind of person you wanted angry at you. He took one of the little metal stools we had to sit on in class and tried to break it over the teachers back, the teacher has been in a wheelchair ever since😂(this was late 90's, I've no idea what happened to the boy because I never saw him again after that day).
Do schools do background checks before hiring teachers? They should.

I was in 8th grade at the time, but the high school I would be attending the next year had a massive hazing scandal that made international news overnight. A group of junior girls trying to join the powderpuffs went to play football against the seniors. Instead of playing, they got the sh*t kicked out of them, were forced to sit in a huddle on the ground while paint and animal intestines were thrown at them, and one girl even had a bucket put over her head at it was hit with baseball bats. I heard later on she suffered permanent hearing loss. Someone recorded it (this was before smartphones so someone had a literal camcorder) and release it to the media. The senior girls that were identified were suspended, many of them losing college admissions, and some parents were arrested when it was found out they supplied alcohol. When I started high school we had to endure multiple school assemblies every year about how hazing is bad, and participate in week-long seminars about being more caring and considerate of our fellow students.
here's a link to the article https://www.cbsnews.com/news/15-face-charges-in-hazing-incident/
Load More Replies...One girl had permanent hearing loss? All of the seniors involved should be given some permanent hearing loss too. F*****g bitches.
Why did it take that to need to be addressed that hazing is bad. I dont get hazing. Not why people do it, that unfortunately shitty clique nature and power fantasy apropos of human nature. But why it seems that everyone knows about it and its never addressed until it inevitably goes too far. But then again considering colleges routinely cover up rapes and prevent victims from reporting maybe its not that unexpected.
I was in either 7th or 8th grade when that happened and later went to that highschool. Lived next door to one of the hazers she was. . . . Colorful
One dude who was with the marching band at my university died from hazing, though this happened years after I graduated
The school is Glenbrook North High School, if you tap the lightly shaded link under the story and go to reddit, there's a link for a story on the local news there.
Got hazed as a freshman in high school. During 4th of July parade I got dragged to the seniors float and had a dog chain put around my hands (accepted hazing in public parade because "everyone was doing it"). Walked a mile across town and was abandoned after I broke the chain off to prevent seniors from throwing me into the ocean. Had to walk two miles home with a bloody foot and one sandal because I was too scared to ask for help (before kids had cells).
That’s awful, adults should have intervened and removed you from that situation. Hope you recovered ok.

Girl A decided to fight girl B in class. Girl A ripped girl B’s real hair out, broke her nose, and crippled her. Girl B was sent to the emergency room. Girl A was suspended for 2 weeks. They were both in 7th grade.
Girl A should've been kicked out of school and at 18, Girl B should sue Girl A. Unfortunately this is kind of common too. Around 15 years ago, 2 middle school girls agreed to meet at a park to fight. In the fight, one of the girls punched the other in the head. When the fight ended and they both went home, later in the day the punched in the head one kept complaining that she had headaches. She was taken to a hospital and before the day was over she died.
Sounds like girl A should have gotten some time in juvie for crippling another child, considering she started the altercation also. That's horrifying for girl B.
the OP said "Oh, I think she bashed her head against the floor n stuff".
Load More Replies...Girl A got a mere 2 weeks suspension? This should be considered a huge jail time, let alone mentioning expulsion from the school.
Girl A(high schooler) came to the jr high-school and punched girl B(pregnant) in the stomach because girl B was carrying girl A's bf baby. Girl B done molly whopped and slammed girl A's head into a 2x2 metal pole... this was in '97 and the sent is still there to this day.
Junior high? That means pregnant girl B was probably THIRTEEN years old!

Load More Replies...The principal and a counsellor at my high school stole all the funds the band had raised for new marching uniforms. Equal to about 2 years wages for the average worker at the time. the counsellor was allowed to teach English at another school and the principal was demoted to VP at our fiercest rival school. The scandal was that they got off with basically a slap on the wrist.
These people will always get caught eventually, especially the small town government workers
Our accountant stole a bunch of money ($2 mill, I think) over a period of around 10 years. People were suspicious but he was besties with the head of school, so he went unchecked for a decade.
If this had happened in the Netherlands they would have stolen quite some money. Even a primary school with as little as 500 students has more than €1 million on their bankaccount with the start of the school year.
🤔 They should explain more. Stole from the Student Store, or the PTA Bake Sale, or Lunch ticket proceeds, or School Dance proceeds, or, ? Schools don't hold a large of money just for nothing cause they're not a for profit business after all.
It doesnt say that it was a public school. Private schools are a for profit bussiness.

Don't forget that many teenagers (especially boys) are basically narcissists, and anything that happens to others just doesn't affect them emotionally. After all, it would 'never' happen to them. It generally doesn't clue in until they are well into their twenties.

Really? This is your contribution to the conversation? This is all you had in your mind and heart to share ?
not really sure how visiting a concentration camp had anything to do with weed....maybe your brain forgot that,?? visiting a death camp is what the kids need to see...reality and history cannot be lost.

Principal of the HS and Director of Athletics got caught embezzlingmoney from the school to their bank accounts. They got caught after 50 k went missing from the schools bank.
Bomb threat. Got sesrched whenever we went in, metal detectors, bomb dogs, the works.
Couple kids invited an African American into their twitter group called "Golf N***as" and were saying stuff like "Repeal the 13th" to her. She tracked down the school and made a complaint. Made local news.
I hope those children suffered. I applaud the young woman who made the complaint.
I hope those children's parents were read the riot act because the kids learned their racism at home, for the most part.

Had a completely psychotic vice principal known as Blinkey when he was mad at you he blinked with every word he said was not very bright either! He hassled so many male students they banded together and set his care on fire 2or3 times. These guys weren't really bad he just picked on them. Teaches parked behind the school well he thought if he got permission to park in the street in front of his office which he did this would stop! The idiot never thought to turn the desk around so he would be facing his car so it continued. he was the laughing stock of students and teachers. He went on to become principal of that school. And 3 of the boys became cops in the same town!
OP said in the last incident that the students got two days suspension and shunned by other peers at school. Sounds odd to me, when I was in school, suspensions were usually a group of 3 to start but things can change, I guess.
Seriously. My first HS had 13 bomb threats in one year. Every last one was called in by a student trying to put off a test or hide the fact they were skipping school. Had more scandal when it came to holidays.

Man they have some low life news, complain all you want to my school.
In my county, there were a ton of bomb threats at local high schools. To the point where it was interfering with student education, because they had to evacuate the schools every time. As it turns out, kids were just doing it to get out of school
Some dude with a tiny little pecker sent a picture of it (unsolicited) to a girl, and she sent it to all his friends. Wasn't long before like half the school had seen it.

Exactly! D**k pics are just plain gross. Men need to stop assuming women like them.

She could have been arrested for child porn, it's a felony to send those types of pic if the person pictured is under 18 and it doesn't matter if you are also under 18, it's still child porn. (United States)
At the very least at least make sure your not f*****g yourself over when you send nudes
When I was in 5th grade, the male teacher I'd had in 4th grade was fired for helping a high school cheerleader undress. Looking back, he was a creeper.

I was in fourth or fifth grade and someone sketched in the middle school bathroom not to go on school Friday, 'or I will bang bang.' This was then brought to the attention of the county and state police, and we didn’t have school that day, and the police searched everyone’s lockers for a firearm
We've seen too many warnings where the students followed through on their threats.
Load More Replies...My 2nd HS had one of these threats. Happened not long after Columbine - I think within a couple of months after. Schools weren’t quite as paranoid about shootings then, so classes weren’t cancelled, but only about 25% of students showed up to school that day. About that time, trench coats were banned.
This happened too in my area in Germany 2009.. school shooting awareness was a big topic at that time and our school was trained what to do, in case some shooting is going on. So two girl from the Gymnasium in the neighbour building wrote some threads and a potential date in the bathroom stall and police etc was involved and later the girls got suspended.
Sadly this has been happening more and more recently, this just happened at my school last month for two days, and it’s happened to many schools in my area.
This happened at a high school in my district like a month ago :/ along with several other shooting threats at all the schools at my district and around the county. Luckily, they found the kid who was making the threats and they got arrested
Now they put it on TikTok and nationwide it tries to give the students the day before winter break starts an extra day, goes to show the same trick, different way to import it. Dumb parents/schools still fall for the act.
I think I read somewhere that teens brains are finished being made yet.
During middle school a few kids sold weed and someone that bought some smoked it in the building which was just stupid, the kid that sold it to him didn’t want to get in trouble so he pulled the fire alarm so people wouldn’t find the kid, we all got to go home afterwards
I don't know if this still happens, though I wouldn't be surprised if it did, but I know for years and years the state university campus in my town would quite often have students get exams rescheduled by calling in an anonymous tip about a bomb threat. It happened so frequently that everyone knew about, joked about it (even those who didn't go to the school), because well, it worked. Even though the school knew that it was exam week and unprepared students or those who needed more time on that final research paper were going to do this, they still had to treat it like it was serious; close school, send everyone home, reschedule exams, etc. The school and police knew that it was 99.99% likely that it was a student trying to get everyone more time to study, but they couldn't risk that 0.01% chance that it was real. With the days of smartphones I would think it'd be easier for the police to find and charge students making the false tips so I don't know if it still happens.
Oh, and like, this is something that happened often enough that the local news basically stopped reporting on it after awhile. LIke, once everyone figured out what was happening, it was just like, oh, yeah, another one? Well, it is exam season. Let us know if you ever actually find something.

Load More Replies...It may seem fine to you, but middle schoolers are 11-13 years old. NO. I do not want my 11 year old child smoking weed. A law that disallows 12 year olds from smoking weed in school is far from a "ancient conservative law"...it is one that makes sense and based on science...which has shown us that weed DOES have damaging effects on the brain if you start smoking it before the age of 17. I have NO issue with adults partaking. I am all for it, actually, cannabis has helped many immensely. But lets not go too far and start inflicting damage with such a hands off, "who cares" approach with children who aren't even in their teens yet!

Kid made a chlorine bomb and threw it in the trash can at lunch. Lockdown, bomb squad, every single kid and faculty member out on the field in 95° weather for 2+ hours until parents could show up to pick up their kids.
One of our teachers used to send one of us up to the staff room to make them a cup of tea. That is until one of the boys was interrupted putting "special", let's call it cream, into the tea.
Not on the same scale, but one year a student wasn't paying attention in chemistry, but decided to take one of the metals they were working with with him when he left class. He stuck it in his pocket. If he'd been paying attention he would have known that it was sodium, or potassium, like, one of those metals, the kind that are dangerous and acidic and react violently with water. Which he found out when it started burning through his pocket, so he panicked, went to the bathroom and threw it in a toilet, where it reacted violently with the water and blew the toilet up. Not a big explosion where people got hurt, but it scared the s**t out of that guy and he got in huge trouble. He didn't get kicked out or anything because he wasn't actually dangerous or anything, just a huge dumbass who had definitely learned his lesson.
Along the same lines. Chlorine gas and mustard gas are their own weapons but do similar, atrocious things to the human body.

My husband had a true fire take place in his school when the weather was -30. Turns out the part of the drills where you can't stop and grab your jackets were true. So many kids standing outside in winter almost as close to a burning building as possible to warm up and nobody making plans to find shelter for the kids. My hubby lived a block away and told teachers he was going home. The teachers threatened suspension. He went anyway.
This happened between my sister and brother graduating, so it would have been 1996 or 1997. The HS Ag teacher started dating a student at some point. Everyone knew about it and the parents consented. Our HS was (and is) small enough to still participate in Senior Trips, and the AG teacher went along as a chaperone when his GF was a senior. They shared a hotel room, when I believe the student was still technically a 17 yr old minor. At the time I remember my parents being rather put off by it, but they still hired the guy as a summer farmhand. I don't remember if he was fired or stepped down, but by the time I made it to HS we had a different Ag teacher. They got married and had a child, divorced maybe five or ten years ago. Their kid goes to our HS now. I don't know why it wasn't a huge deal at the time, but no one really raised a stink or threatened to call the authorities. Today it feels like a case of grooming by a predatory farm boy.
Different times. Not that the 90's condoned an adult having a relationship with a minor, but I can imagine how the mindset also wasn't so strict about it as it is now.
different times indeed. in elementary school in the mid 80s, my gifted class, about six students, took an overnight trip to Carlsbad Caverns from Albuquerque, NM. we were from a poor part of town and not many of us had much money. the rooms were like a Motel 6, two double beds each. my room was my 2 best friends and me, and our teacher. i shared a bed with our teacher, and apparently kicked her all night. 🤣😭 this would NEVER EVER happen now. not EVER.

Regardless of her age, he was in a position of authority and there are no circumstances where it would have been appropriate for him to have a relationship with her.
"Today it feels like a case of grooming -" That is exactly what it was. 100%, that child was groomed by her teacher and nobody protected her. Nobody.
Same thing happened with a high school English teacher at my school. Except during lunch they would go into his classroom and lock the door. Wonder what happened. Also, from what I've heard, now he tracks her with what looks like a dog collar. And it was totally consented. Still grosses me out
We had a computer teacher/football assistant coach who was just blasted all day, had so many DUIs he had to get rides to work, but was the cousin of the Superintendent so he kept his job. Let’s just say that when he crashed a student’s car in the parking lot because he convinced them to let him borrow it that that was the beginning of the end of it. It was a small town. The scandal is that the Super tried to cover it up by trying to convince the kid to take the heat for it. To no one’s surprise, the kid was not convinced. They let him stay on as Super for another two years.
I would never recommend a family member for a job unless I had the utmost confidence in their abilities, because their behavior will reflect on me. I’ll be damned if some fuckup relative should embarrass me, especially if I wanted to ever promoted, by turning out to be the worst employee ever. Even worse if they steal or cause any other kind of scandal.

at my old school: kid brought in an explosive new school: teacher got suspended for a year for locking a child in a closet
Bad teachers are like bad cops they just move from town to town. In America at least.
Only for a year? That teacher needs to find another career and not be responsible for anything with a pulse.
And you failed to learn capitalization and punctuation at either school.
If there is a Hell, my first grade teacher Miss Gulledge is at the center of it. I look back now and realize she hated children. She would lock kids in the coat closets, among other travesties. Luckily, my second grade teacher, Miss Porter, is still my favorite teacher after all these decades.
A overachieving student in my year went nuts and pooped in a bag in a teachers classroom.
She also thought she could run up trees.
I suspect she needed a lot more than just counselling. That sounds like either a serious psychiatric issue or serious abuse (or both).

Poor kid. That's a hell of a mindset to deal with. I hope she got good help.
We had a lad at junior school who got naked into the sports foot-bath (when they had such tings (1970's) and refused to get out, when the teachers turned-up to make him, he started throwing handfuls of his own turd at them! Always wondered what happened to him?
The 30ish theater teacher ran off with a recent grad. I was kind of pals with the student during a play the spring before the scandal, and she hosted the cast party where in retrospect, they seemed a little cozier than appropriate. As much as I'm dying for the inside scoop, I can't imagine friending her on social media and asking "So what was up with you and Mr. ___________?"
You could always see if she was not Mrs ____. One of my math teachers in highschool was a guy who got his student knocked up when he first started ( when my mom attended school) and he "did the right thing" married her and his kids were in my class. Which was awkward. Nowadays he would ( rightfully) have gone to jail for sleeping with a student, not become a "pillar of the community". And yes he WAS an asshole.
In my small red town, one principal married a graduating senior and another was caught cheating on his wife two times. The principal kept his job. That's a Conservative town.

One of my friends in high school always wanted to go TP one of our teacher's houses. He was a nice guy but middle-aged (his son was a year ahead of us in high school). Not long after we graduated, he divorced his wife and married my friend. In middle school (8th grade/early 2000s) one of the "hot" girls sent a couple nude pictures to her bf and it wasn't long until half the school had them. Police ended up becoming involved to make sure any all copies were destroyed.
In high school there was a little scandal involving the teachers and a teachers club called the "hot tub club". Faculty members that had hot tubs would host a weekly hot tub party with other hot tub owners. Turns out they were all getting wasted and having a swinging party every Wednesday. Somebodies spouse found out about it and there was a huge exodus of "hot tub" teachers my senior year.
Edit: The main people involved with the photo were reprimanded but not charged, the girl had a sit down with a counselor to discuss what happened, and we all had a big assembly to discuss the consequences that could happen if people shared those kind of images. It scared a lot of kids straight.
Nobody was fired from the school for being in the hot tub club. Teachers left because it was convenient timing with the opening of another high school, and there was constant babble about it.
Just for clarity, this all happened in a small town in western Canada. By the looks of my inbox both are not uncommon occurrences.
I honestly hope the girl actually got councelling and was not, in reality, reprimanded for sending nude pictures in the first place.
the person that spread the pics should go jail, but once you send something like that, you have to understand the consequences that can come with it
Load More Replies...That actually sounds like both cases were handled more or less appropriately. It doesn't sound like the girl was shamed but rather helped, and well, hot tubbing orgies maybe be a bit questionable, but if theyre all consenting adults and theyre not doing anything inappropriate in school, I dont think they've done anything that should be punished. Reminds me of that one teacher who was doing some softcore photos or something like that to make ends meet, then the police spied on her in her own home and she got fired. Adults are adults, they have sex, as long as theyre appropriate in school thats what matters. But here we are, firing people for being into bdsm with their adult partners while protecting teachers who sleep with their students. As always the appearance of propriety is more important than the actual thing. The swingers teachers probably have a healthier sexuality than most of the perverts on this list....
Kids have got to stop sending nudes to each other. They don't seem to understand the risks that are associated with them. If online, they never go away, they can send ppl to jail; including themselves, they can have life altering consequences; such as suicide, and they only see the instant gratification of the moment they're participating in, never the future fallout of their actions. It's too bad that text messaging and the internet doesn't have a undo button, so until then, stop sending nudes.
I tell my children to never put anything on social media that they wouldn’t be happy having up on a screen in school assembly.
Why the hell does it matter what teachers do legally in their spare time?
The age of cell phones. This didn't happen when there weren't cell phones because if you took pictures the person developing the film would see ot

A kid was busted having into the system trying to change his grades. I think there was a claim of computer addiction, but he wasn't allowed on a school computer for the rest of his time at the high school. A teacher was known for trying to pick fights with students, I called out his bull sh*t and he was given a slap on the wrist but he didn't try it again after that. There was a student who was accused of having a bomb that was a complete fabrication, outcome was ridiculously blown out of purportion (The guy was a bit of an outsider and had made a duct tape top hat, someone made a sarcastic comment about him smuggling a bomb in it, he responded in same level of sarcasm, someone gets it in their head he has a bomb and they decide to kick him out of school because of "viable threat")
Yep, at my siblings' high school one of the "weird kids" made a bomb threat because he was mad and either got suspended for months or was expelled.
My dumb ass nephew called in a bomb threat on his own phone. They called the number and guess what.
Oh gods, in my HS freshman year I was placed in the advanced class with all the popular kids (I certainly belonged there for intelligence, but was shy/a loner) and was writing a story completely unrelated to HS in a notebook. The kid in the seat next to me must've gotten a glance at it and fabricated a story about me wanting to bring a gun to school. Cue my immense shock when i was called into the principal's office--I showed him the story and was dismissed without even a warning. I dont remember if that kid was moved away from me, but he must've gotten reamed bc he never so much as looked my way again.

My highschool Guidance counselor f*cked a science teachers wife and everyone knew about it. They got a divorce. Both teachers still work at the same school to this day, and students will never ever let it go. The story has been handed down from year to year.
Yeah, one of us would have to go if that happened to me. Working at the same school would be too awkward
I do not know what the big deal is. This can happen between any people. The fact that they were coworkers is a taboo. I get it. I get it that it is even illegal in some places. But really, who GAF? These are adults. They take responsibility for what they did. They destroyed their primary relationships. And they moved on. That happens in life. If the second party cheatee hadn't worked at the school no-one would have said a thing. What, is there now a magical property of Eunuchness or something that you get bequeathed with, when walking through school gates? Meh. Humans are humans. Talking apes. If you expect ape behaviour from them, it lets you get off the moral high horse and actually deal with REAL problems like school shooters. FFS.

This was working at first and a bit "preventing cheating" until one day some guy sneaked into our highschool and came as the man who collects the phones while he wasnt, he stole the whole highschool phones and went lol

He then knocked a beaker over and it ran over the table onto a girl, and she screamed a bit, he shat himself and took her away. Got another teacher to clean it up. He wasn’t teaching much longer in our school much longer, I also heard that the girls mum either sued or tried to sue the teacher and/ or school. The acid had gone through her leggings and kinda mixed with her skin so she had to get some skin grafts to cover it.
Usually in science class we either used weak acids, or people had to keep distance when something stronger was used. Later, as I had an apprenticeship in chemical field, we were taught properly how to handle, and what to do if something happened. Asked my tutor if something ever happened, and worst was a girl getting some base into an eye, no permanent damage, but had to rinse with cold water for 15 min and she said that alone hurt like hell.
Random unwanted detail; this is why we have labcoats and you're not allowed to wear leggins or something of the sort (although I understand how in a science class not everyone in the room is wearing a labcoat the entire time).

The mom would sue the school district, not the actual teacher. In a very very dark story, a female special education student at my high school with an IQ of 40 who I knew and cared about very deeply was sexually assaulted by a male classmate who had a 0.0 GPA. The boy had been assigned to be a "peer trainer" to the girl by a counselor who thought it would "get him back on track." They were found in a stairwell with the girl agitated, shaking, and partially undressed. The worst part: When the girl's family rightfully sued the school district, the school's lawyer's defense was that the girl was 18 and must have liked it.
I vote we tie the lawyer down and dribble some of that acid from one of the above stories on his family jewels. He's over 18 so he must like it.

One of my own middle school teachers is pretty creepy and mean, and he's been reported by other girls (ones that attend in-person, as I'm a virtual student) to stare at rather inappropriate places for rather inappropriate amounts of time. Soon we all turned to see what had him so interested. The principal had (hopefully accidentally) thrown the draft of the gym teacher's firing notice in the recycling instead of shredding it. It was on the back of this kid's test. Suddenly, the whole class knew exactly what happened with the gym teacher in surprising detail.
High school in the 80s. Turns out one of our science teachers was a playboy centerfold back in the 70s. Dozens of that specific issue turned up in the school once somebody found out.
It's very unfortunate how humanity's brains are between their legs. Unfortunately it may help somewhat if schools were all same gender including teachers and faculty. Oh no that's no good, I just remembered a story where a high school girl went hot tubbing to her friend's house, and when the girl and the friend's mom were alone in the hot tub, the mom took off the bra of the girl and fondled her and kissed her. Mothers, and teachers, and faculty, and all other adults, and older kids are all supposed to protect all children, not sexually harass them.
Having had many friends in monastic schools here in SA, this is a hetero assumption of total note. It's BS. IF the opposite gender is not available, it still happens. Makes zero difference. What we HAVE noted however is that the majority of culprits are males. My solution: only let women be teachers. Simple.

Only made it less than halfway. Why there are so many perverts in places that are supposed to be 'safe', 'smart', and 'holy'? There are many rotten people everywhere. F**k all those.
People like these specifically choose places where they can prey on vulnerable people. Not just paedophiles but narcissistic people as well. The armed forces and firefighters are chuck full of them as well as it gives people power.

He always looked up girls' skirts and down their shirts as well. He ended up locking himself into the bathroom with another student and got fired shortly after (and thrown into jail). He really hated my sister, which I think was a lucky outcome, because if he'd liked her, God knows what he might have tried to do to her.
One of my own middle school teachers is pretty creepy and mean, and he's been reported by other girls (ones that attend in-person, as I'm a virtual student) to stare at rather inappropriate places for rather inappropriate amounts of time. But he's not creepy enough to be suspected by other teachers I guess.

It ranged from reading fiction to standing up for yourself to an adult. Well, her husband, the school pastor (who reported me for listening to the devil's music) ended up having an affair with a year 12 student and marrying her.
Our music teacher had sex with a 15 year old student. On his wifes weddingdress. He was fired but is teaching at a different school in northern england.
If that happens here a teacher is struck from the roll and can NEVER teach again.

I was in the class that learned about the firing first. It was common in my school for teachers to print on recycled paper. Well, we were having a math test and were told to "flip our test over" when we were done. One student flipped his test over and started snickering and mumbling.
