Agreed! If the person is in fact a well known 'Influencer'' they should have no problem getting 10 of their followers to use the code.

This is awesome idea 🥰. I used to get that being a tattoo artist people would tell me just give me the 500$tattoo for free and I'll show everyone wherever I go... I'm like I have to pay rent and buy my kids food I can't give that away. People would be so mad that I didn't want to do that...

My career was in billing. I was an engineer and architected/coded entire billing systems, generated 60k invoices a month for a Fortune 500 company and know inside and out all the billing arrangements different customers had. One of the options was revenue sharing where the client gives us a report of their revenue based on the data we sent then and we bill them based on that. I was also selling on etsy on the side for fun. I had someone contact me about promoting my store and I told them I'd be willing to do a revenue share where I'd pay them based on the amount of traffic they generated for me and they got all huffy and offended. These sponges want a lump sum up front for putting up one tweet and then will shrug their shoulders when you get no traffic and walk away if they got paid up front.

It's a good trait to be generous - but it's also good to know when you're being taken advantage of. Not everyone has the skills to say "no" to moochers, users, and choosy beggars, so Bored Panda has collected some various tips. First, it is important to communicate the boundaries or conditions around what you are giving to them.

Last minute resort? I want to know more about this... did you FORGET to make food arrangements or did something catastrophic happen to the caterer? because in the later situation I have sympathy but your inability to plan does not constitute an emergency on our end! If that subway had known a HUGE catering order was due for that day they would have scheduled additional staff to help. Nope, no sympathy for your wait. 63 subs in a hour is better than a sub a minute, that employee was hustling for you and you have no appreciation

This should be posted at every groom shop. After working at one for a year...there should be an additional list that says "No you may not sit and watch the groomer..we like your dog to be calm for its haircut. If you haven't brushed your long-haired dog for the past 8 weeks, do not put it through the torture of having the matts brushed out..get it clipped. Please do not wait 6 months in between nail trims in an attempt to save money...you will still have to pay to bring the dog back every two weeks until the quick makes its way back enough to not cause the dogs toe to bleed upon trimming." Basically, take care of your dog....

TBH, it only cost $45 for my dog to get a puppy cut for summer. If he gets one, maybe two, of those cuts per year, it’s still less than my four yearly visits to the hairdresser. Besides, it’s like a spa day for him, at least at the great groomers he goes to. Plus, he’s so much more comfortable in the hot weather, smells great for at least a couple weeks after, his eyes and ears are cleaner than I can get them, his nails are shorter than he lets me cut them, he enjoys all the attention, treats, and other dogs, and I swear he knows how handsome he is after getting groomed! I consider it an excellent investment.

If you want to help, haggle or handout - go for it- but also know that it is ok to say "no"! Some people take generosity to mean that you can be pushed to give more and more. If someone has assumed that your niceness means that you won't say no, respectfully remind them of your limits. In some cases, people won't want to continue to have transactions after you turn them down, and that's ok.

Etiquette doesn't matter. She's family and she should have been invited to the baby shower. If you didn't want her there..then apparently you are the one with the problem and, therefore, need to get over said problem before expecting a gift. It would be like approaching your husbands ex and saying "why didn't you get us a wedding gift?"

Im sorry but as a former mechanic this is a lie. The hours they post for certain jobs are grossly inflated. They charge 45 minutes for an oil change at a dealership with an hourly rate of about $60 on average. Most people can do an oil change at home in 15 minutes. Even if you are new its 30 minutes. I can do a full tire rotation, brake pad, rotor swap in 30 minutes at home for my corolla... in the shop they would book 2.5 hours for this. The car actually sits in the back lot for 2 hours while I do 4 other cars and then I do your car. So now I have done 5 of the same repairs on cars, only spent 2.5 hours, and charged 12.5 hours making the dealership an average of $750 in that time. during a whole day of brake changes I made the dealership $3000 when we could have just been honest with the customer, charged them $35 dollars for labor instead of $150.

Like that story of the old engineer who was called in to fix a machine no one else could figure out how to fix (this is going to be a really bad paraphrase, forgive me). He walked in, looked the machine over, took out a hammer, hit a certain spot, and the machine worked perfectly. He charged $5000 for 5 minutes work (this is just a hypothetical story). When the machine owner's asked why so much, he said "$10 for using the hammer, $4990 for knowing *where* to use it."

Don't let yourself be consumed by guilt - set your boundaries and stick to them. Just because you can be accommodating doesn't mean you should. Most of us are taught it is a social norm to share what we have with those less fortunate, but giving back doesn't mean sacrificing your worth. Sure you can afford to cut a little off a price, but you are not responsible for other people's financial burdens. Remember if you give an inch to someone who is trying to take advantage they will want more.

There are quite a few users of various substances in the city center and I am often asked for some change so they can buy something to eat. Sometimes I do offer to buy them something to eat and at least nine times out of ten they insist on getting the money, except for this one guy recently who claimed he was hungry and asked for a piece of pastry. No, he was not interested in a loaf of bread. What had he been smoking? However, one old man almost started to cry when I got an extra portion for him from the takeaway. Some are for real.

There was a guy like this near the town I lived in. He would shuffle walk from the corner, up the sidewalk next to the cars saying how he was "mobility challenged and unable to work." A few weeks later, I saw him walking like he had a purpose over a bridge on his way to his usual begging spot. I pointed this out to a local police officer and told him where the guy had come from. A few days later..I didn't see him on the corner. He hasn't returned since.

On a freezing Christmas Eve, with a friend, saw a beggar. We went inside, bought him a sandwich and a hot cocoa. Had him walk to my car, where I pulled a blanket and a coat (I'm lazy sometimes and things sit in the trunk until I get around to it) out of my trunk for him. Most moving grown-man tears ever. He was legit. Most aren't. I always say "I have no cash on me, sorry." If a homeless person gladly accepts my to-go box as I head to the car, then I I know I helped someone. Otherwise, I've seen beggars who are known for faking it instead of getting a job.

While at work I noticed a young woman with her 3 or4 yr old daughter begging for money. I went to the store and bought them a sandwich, fruit and a container of milk ( more for the child than the women). When I approached with the lunch the little girls face lit up while the mother gave me the dirtiest look, took the food and hid it in the paper bag she had. I saw the women with the child for the next 3 days. When I told a cop about her she said she already knew about them and that they are actually well off, with a nice apartment. Seems her husband and her do this for a living and do quite well making over a hundred a day between them. That really pissed me off knowing how this child is growing up, and how she'll probably turn out. I'll never forget that child's face lighting up when she saw the food....

Real beggars aren't choosers - they will take whatever you offer them because THEY NEED IT. Several years ago I was on a road trip with some friends. We had brought some sandwiches and cookies with us to nom. When we were almost at our destination, we saw a roadside panhandler. Something about him gave an aura of sincere need, so we offered our uneaten sandwiches and cookies. He gladly accepted - meaning that he did need them! Instead of giving to roadside beggars, donate to a reputable charity that helps the poor, or volunteer at a food bank. Or both.

Sadly, you're even have to be careful with the charities. Often only a very small percentage of funds actually gets spent on those in need. The rest goes to "administrative costs "

I was once approached by a man in front of a pizza joint asking for money saying,he was hungry. It was payday and I was feeling generous, so I offered to buy him a slice of pizza and a coke (was going to add a cookie but didn't say that) since I didn't have any cash and only card on me. He asked me if I could get cash so he could buy Chinese food instead. My good mood soured a bit and I just gave a firm "No" and walked away.

I am infuriated with a beggar near the house. First and foremost, he has a cane he and pretends to walk with a limp. I have seen him run across the street (to avoid traffic) and seen him walk in the neighborhood- with no cane nor limp. Secondly, he will come up to your window and actually start yelling if you don't give him anything. Thankfully, he know who I am and avoids me like the plague.

I've had the pleasure of such an experience. A colleague of mine, who was in the marketing department (she was just playing Candy Crush all day long most of the times) came to me with a purely illogical and physically impossible request, for a packaging. I politely tried to explain her using her very limited technological knowledge and abilities, that it cannot be done, why it cannot be done, and that I'm not gonna waste my time doing that. I also offered her alternative solutions. Her reaction: "OK!!! Then I'LL DO IT!! It can't be that hard." I gave her my seat, took a step back and enjoyed the rest of the show. She sits on my chair, adjusts it for a minute, stares at the Illustrator window for 10 seconds and says "OK, now TELL me what to do next!!!" I burst into laugh and invited her out of my office before she deletes something important.

I've had this experience many times as an artist. One of the media in which I work is art jewelry. At one show, I had a unique necklace made with semi-precious stones (lapis, malachite, turquoise). With the time invested to make it and the cost of the materials, marking it at a bit under $100 was not making much of a wage for me. One snitty visitor to the show said, "Who has $98 to spend on a necklace??!!". I said, "Who has time to spend several hours and and a lot of $ to make a unique, one-of-a-kind piece like this? You can always go out and buy the supplies and do it yourself if you think my price is exorbitant." BTW, this show was at a famous venue in the Hollywood, CA area, where people buy a made in China, mass-produced polyester scarf for $400 and think nothing of it.

I used to be a professional seamstress. Many times, a person would really get upset at my estimate or price for a CUSTOM MADE Garment! My time, drafting the pattern, fittings, ovethese and (very) small profit, seemed to offend them. Now, I only made clothes for myself and family.

Some people are just not worth your expertise, some do not even see the difference between what they just made and what you made for them, because they are style blind. Even so, a warning sign, if someone says 'just do what you feel and make something of it' or 'don't put too much time in it, do something quick' then you know it's time to kindly say 'move along'

Lastly, don't feel bad when you shame a freeloader. We should always treat others with respect but in some cases, you need to be extra firm. "A freeloader really cares nothing for your needs and thoughts, even if they convince you that they do. They also rarely care for normal social etiquette."

The expression 'Beggars can't be choosers'? first recorded into print in 1546, when it appeared in a book of proverbs compiled by John Heywood. The first form was written as 'Folk say alway, beggars should be no choosers.' Another similar proverb from a different angle is, 'If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride,' which is more rarely used.

Good point, but I was thinking more in terms of helping the farmer himself, he keeps any money, pays me with a place to sleep, a ride on his donkey, a bowl of rice, more of a barter situation where we could both hopefully profit. Frankly, a lot of Americans are concerned about not allowing immigrants in. They make up a large portion of the manual work force, doing what others refuse to do. The wages aren't that bad either, $12-$15 in some areas, just nobody wants to work in the onion fields.

I explained this to my brother, very succinctly, after he expected my widowed mother to pay for his family's European vacation, 'because [I] had gone." And I said, 'Yeah, and I took out a loan against my retirement to do it, too! If I can't afford something, I don't do it!' Turns out he'd been scamming her for almost 15 years, so he and his family could take nice vacations.

A pool is a major liability in the US. It is considered a dangerous enticement in the law's eyes. You are required to fence it in with proper height fencing with a proper climbing deterrent gate that is locked at all times. Even if a child trespasses into your yard and defeats every safety system installed to use the pool and drowns, you are responsible.

My mother's next door neighbors almost had to get rid of theirs because the neighbor on the other side would send over her 8 year old to swim, and it didn't matter if they were home or not, or if the gate was locked, because the little nuisance would just climb the fence! Fortunately, the family with the 8 year old had to move first.

There are many times where I have walked past a piece of art and couldn’t believe the prices. And you know what I do, don’t buy them. A lot of time, practice, training, patience and effort went into the art and that’s not including tools and equipment etc.

I am a crafter who makes a lot of things by hand. I have worked hard to learn different techniques for different items. I get questioned on my prices all the time. I am not that expensive either. But the one thing that cracks me up the most is the ones that wander by my booth and proceeds to tell me that they love my stuff but they know someone who can make it cheaper and then has the balls to ask me for a discount! Fkrs! I tell them no and suggest they ask their "friend" to make the item for them. Stupid fkrs!

I used to think cake makers/decorators were ridiculously expensive. But now I know why. I have started to attempt cake decorating for relatives and the amount of money it costs for all the supplies like fondant, the cake stuff etc it all adds up and that doesn’t include the time, effort and patience it takes. I could never do it as a business because of all that. It is more of a hobby for me.

I had the same thing when I waited tables at Kip's Bog Boy years ago. I worked 2 stations, cause I was that fast. One employee had this family come every Sunday with 4 kids, total brats. The parents just hid behind their newspapers and ignored the punks throwing food, screaming, stabbing each other with utensils. I had seen this for a few months. My coworker asked if I would take the table, she couldn't put up with them again. This guy was not known as a good tipper either. I walked over, pushed the kid standing in her chair down, and asked when they were having. When each kid started screaming, I gave them The Look and said, I will walk away and come back when you can sit in your chairs like ladies and gentlemen and speak in a normal tone of voice. I came back with coffee for mom and dad. Then went to each child for their order. When they behaved badly, I told them we weren't having any of that, sit down and behave! When there was screaming, I told the kid he could go outside if he

The thing is some shops price match so telling them you can find the exact same product cheaper online or in another shop can be a huge benefit. Quite often they can offer you the same deal or sometimes even 10% cheaper.

It just happened to me. I got prescription for contacts and of course they wanted to sell me the contacts. I wanted to give them the business (local store, etc.), but online price was so much cheaper, which I apologetically explained to them. They price matched and I got them there. I also got two extra sets of contacts (no charge) and some solution. I love them and will not go anywhere else now. I do purchase all of my glasses there :)

Not only that but sometimes people forget that you get instant gratification of getting the part sooner, you are also covering for the shop owner getting the part and for it to take up space. Learned that when I started crafting and working in accounting.

I can relate. My ex & I ran an auto repair business. I can't tell you how many times people would pull this kind of s**t. My standard response was "Well, if you can find it cheaper on your own that's great. We will not guarantee or warranty the part you provide. If it breaks or fails after we install it, that will be entirely your fault & we will not repair or replace it free of charge:. Sign here: _______________________

Usually the parts that a shop sources is backed by a guarantee, and/or they can get a core charge by returning your old part. Buying something “cheaper” is often just that and interferes with their business model. Don’t expect a warranty when providing your own parts.

Why do people ever think that it's ok, ever, to shame anyone in public, on social medias? Not even stranger, let alone spouse, child or friend. If someone would do that to me, we wouldn't be friends or in touch anymore. If you don't like something about me, talk to me, don't try to shame me online in front of everyone. So rude and disrespectful!

First World problems! Some people have no pasta (no matter what shape) and would be grateful for any sauce ( even out of a jar) This man is an ungrateful oaf and I hope his wife leaves him.

You keep saying, "boxed" and "canned" like she was supposed to get up at the crack of dawn like your Nonny did to hand roll the pasta herself and stew the sauce for 10 hours after she went out to the garden to pluck the plump, ripe tomatoes from the vines she's been cultivating for years. Did she also grow the garlic, oregano and peppercorns herself? Where do you keep the cow that she milks in order to make and age the parmigiana she needs to sprinkle on top for you? Sounds like Mommy's boy needs to grow the f*** up!

The only difference between the two pastas is the shape. The dough recipe is the same. So she used sauce from a jar. It's understandable if she worked all day at a job too. He's lucky she made that much for him. He can just go hungry or cook his own dinner from now on. What an ungrateful bastard!

Even if she's stay-at-home, who has the time to make it from scratch? My childhood dated from before jarred sauce (if you could even find it, or afford it!) We got pasta once every 2 months or so because the sauce took forever, used all sorts of stuff, and you ended up with maybe 4 cups of sauce (if you were lucky) because of course it cooked down *into* sauce. I am properly grateful for canned and jarred sauce. It was a major undertaking--and still used a lot of canned stuff!

I have a tip for those with little to no income who want to read books: GET A LIBRARY CARD. If your library doesn't have books from a particular author you like, you can message them to suggest they acquire books from that author, they often take suggestions into account when purchasing new books. Don't read pirated books if you can't afford to buy new ones.

Yeah they can totally get the books in through interlibrary loan or if it is a much requested book they will often buy a copy. Libraries need support

Ugh. As an author, I feel this on all levels. I normally try to explain why people shouldn't utilize pirate sites by asking the reader: Would you break into my house and just take whatever you wanted? Because book piracy is STEALING FROM ME in much the same way. Ever hear of a library, turdface?

$100 for wedding models and access to the food, entertainment, possibly a dance with the bride? Sounds like a deal. Probably an open bar as well. Make sure you uber home. Think of it this way... you now have all of their wedding pics and you know the bride is going to want those photos. Yeah, I'd pay them the money to take the photos. That's just for taking the photos. Nobody said anything about giving them up after taking them. Set your own price.

One day, while out with her and her SIL, she called me on it after I ordered the salad bar and she and her SIL order ribeyes. "Why do you always order the cheap stuff?"she asked.. I said "I feel guilty about ordering too much when someone else is paying." She said "That ends right here.." turns to the waiter "She'll have the ribeye too."

Saw a news story once about a woman having a birthday party for her daughter. She advertised it as a build a bear party, where everyone would build their own bear. The catch, after they were all made and paid for by the parents, she collected them all saying they were for her daughter. Even after the complaints and the children crying she still had no shame. I assume that little girl lost a lot of friends (as she didn't seem to care, as long as she was getting bears). To add insult to injury, the parents all chipped in for the little girl's bear. You just can't make this stuff up.

One time another group under my employer was working over the holidays. I came in one day and helped out a bit, then decided to join them for lunch. I knew they were all being paid for but I assumed, since I'm not one of them & was only there that one day, that I'd be paying for my own food and just enjoying their company. I got more food than I needed so that I could have leftovers. But then their boss went and paid for me! I tried to reimburse him but he insisted, since I work with them a lot and had come in over Christmas after all. He wouldn't let me pay him back. I *did*, however, insist that I pay the difference between a normal-sized meal and what I'd actually gotten. I can't imagine being the sort of person who would do otherwise.

That is so wrong. She should be ashamed of herself. I once worked in a law firm. The building manager would cater in BBQ once a year for everyone in the building. This lady came prepared. She brought at least 10 to go containers. She would be 1st in line to pile up a big plate. Sat down and ate. Once she was done, she got up and started to pack her containers. Some people told her that there were more people coming to eat. She said "they had their chances. You snooze you lose!" So the next year, they hid the food and brought more out after she left. She found out so next year she came back after about 30 minutes. The next year to had a big sign up said Please No To Go. She still did it. It was embarrassing.

Argh. I see people on social media asking "anyone got any kittens looking for homes". You just know they want a really cheap one or they'd just go to one of the many rescues places that have plenty. If you don't want to/can't afford to pay a reasonable amount for a kitten/puppy, then you can't afford to feed it properly and keep up with it's vet checks and any treatment it might need.

When I looked after the kitten section of the shelter I would deal with people who told me that they got a FREE kitten in the classifieds. I pretended to be impressed....did you get a free vet check? Our kittens come with a free vet check. Did you get free vaccinations? I give all outgoing kittens their first shots. Did you get a free de-worming? I de-worm all outgoing kittens. Just how free was this kitten you got? A lot of pet food companies give us samples to pass out as well. This is why shelters require a donation.

We had a woman that complained constantly about the grooms her dog received. She never brushed her Shih Tzu, so the dog was always matted. She'd drop the dog off when we opened and would always be 30-60 minutes past closing when she came to pick him up (11 hours we had the dog..walking and feeding it. And all this for a discounted groom (normal cost was $47..she was charged $25.) The owner of the shop came in to see a groomer struggling with brushing matts out of the dog. She took over the groom and shaved the dog down. She said, if the dog owner had a problem with it..to tell her she was not allowed to bring the dog back and that she was trespassed from the store. She's now blacklisted from several groom shops for similar behavior. Poor Dog...

I was at a Ross Dress for Less and a woman was arguing with the cashier because the hat she wanted to buy was on a sale rack, even though it was not on sale. The price difference was $1. It went on for at least ten minutes when I finally slammed a dollar on the counter and told her to STFU. She left without the hat.

The ironic thing about this type of behavior (paying in coins, to make a point) is that corporate/gov't agency doesn't care. The cashier does. The ultimate in passive-aggressiveness.

True story - I was in Target getting Starbucks before going shopping. I was behind this lady (prob in her 40's). She was well-dressed. Mind you, it's in a very nice neighborhood. The houses a block away are millions - in the Midwest. She kept arguing with the barista about the price she paid for her coffee LAST WEEK. She said she paid only $2.80 at the other Target and she was charged - get this - $0.15 more here. She demanded to know why. She yelled at the barista and said she would call corporate on her. The whole time the barista was super nice to her. Then she said as long as the barista was there, she would never come back. Unbelievable

More than once in San Diego I've had a presumably homeless person approach me while I'm leaving a restaurant, ask for my leftovers (leftovers I usually planned to eat for lunch the next day), and after I've given it to them and walked away I hear them yell back that whatever I'd ordered has x,y,z in it and they don't like that and then watch them throw it in the trash... Then they proceed to ask the next people to come out for their leftovers. I stopped giving my leftovers away after the 4th time this happened since wasting food is something I really try to avoid and going out to eat here is so expensive that I often plan to use my order for two meals.

Why do people think it's okay to look for the cheapest option possible to babysit their kids. Aren't their children's safety and well being worth more to them?

About the same that teacher's get paid to watch 40 kids, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for 9 months...... think about that...

Actually, most of those salaries cover the entire YEAR, not just the 9 months. That's even less than you think. Or they don't get paid those 3 months! So they don't even really get a vacation; they're trying to make ends meet.

I had someone offer $75 a day for 24 hour shifts taking care of her mom...who was showing signs of early Alzheimers. Also wanted two to three days in a row. Hard no.

Don't get a cat if you can't take care of her and expect your neighbors to provide food and supplies. Don't have kids if you can't take care of them and expect someone to do it below minimum wage.

Hopefully he dumped her a*s, what an absolute b***h. My wedding ring and engagement ring came as a set and cost less than $250 (for both). I absolutely love them but even if I didn’t it is the symbol behind them. My hubby would be in a lot of trouble if he spent a ridiculous amount on jewellery for me. Even our wedding cost around $5000. It was such an awesome day.

I'm married for 7 years, both of us never had a wedding ring. And we are not planning to get one. Legally, rings are not needed to be declared married. So, we just decided to don't need them.

I was in the navy and a long time ago I was buying my future bride an engagement ring in Hawaii (my ship was there for war games). I got her a cute little ring that had a single diamond and Hawaiian flowers engraved in it. It was a few hundred dollars, all I could afford. One of my friends (she just recently got engaged) told me that the budget a man should spend is a quarter of his annual Salary and showed me her ring with the huge diamonds on it. I proposed to my girlfriend, she loved it and we have been married for 12 years now. My friend on the other hand broke up with her fiancé.

1: Rummaging in the personal space? Not acceptable. 2: it could be his mother's ring kept for sentiment. 3: Engagement rings really the meaning and feeling is the important part.

Also, she wouldn't be the first woman to find an engagement ring in her boyfriend's possession, only to learn later that it was meant for his other girlfriend.

I had this happen, I was selling a nail polish wall rack/shelf.. Now the woman knew how much it was because I advertised it with a price and when she messaged me she asked for a $5 discount, which I did. Anyway when she came to pick it up she asked how much it was and when I told her she tried haggling me down even more because she didn’t have enough money. Like wtf.

I had this happen too. Lady picked up a couch for $200 and I loaded it in her truck for her. She handed me $50 and said I needed to take it since its already in her truck. Lucky for me she was still on my property so I stood in the driveway so she couldnt leave and pulled my gun on her... after all this was theft on my property. She called the cops on me and when they showed up and saw the communication threat, she was arrested.

When my mother in law had a stroke and had to go into a nursing home we had to clean out her house and had an estate sale. We priced things with very reasonable prices, but we weren't giving her belongings away. I could not believe how many people wanted to haggle over a quarter on something. I finally had enough and started telling them to hit the street walking that we didn't need their money that much. I totally agree with this person if you agreed on a price then pay that price when you come to pick it up, if you aren't willing to, well then hit the street walking.

Happened to me once. I was selling a tablet and said my price was firm. After ignoring all the people offering less than half my asking price, someone agrees to the price and comes to pick it up. They brought half the money they needed and then tried to steal it and run without giving me any money. I snatched it back out of their hands and closed my door. Dude literally stood there for half an hour begging me to please give it to him cause his kid was sick and really really needed it. I laughed and laughed until the cops showed up and removed him from my doorstep.

I actually had a guy standing on the corner at Granville Island in Vancouver, begging people for a dollar so he could buy a beer. He said "I'va had a bad day. I need a beer. So if you could spare a buck, I'd really appreciate it. And if you want to just buy me the beer..I'd be ok with that. We can sit and talk..but I really need a beer. Can someone just spare a dollar?" I walked up to him and said "I appreciate your honesty..here's $5..get two beers." He responded with "Bless you ma'am! I thank you and my liver thanks you." And off he went to the nearest bar.

A man hobbles out of a bar and tells me "I don't have any money for a bus, could you spare 2€". I go "so you need the money to get home?" "Nah, for another beer". Had to reward his honesty. 😃

I would buy the iced coffee, or soda, or Gatorade for them - most times all the homeless are given is bottled water. Everyone deserves something different now and then. And remember - almost every single one of us is only one or two paychecks away from being homeless.

My daughter rented a house with roommates for University. The house was stupid expensive, as student housing goes. First agreed to split it equal shares. Then when they saw it, some bedrooms were literally twice the size of others. So they figured out square footage and paid their percentage based on room size. Kids funded by their parents got the giant rooms. My daughter, not wanting to pay through the nose (out of her own pocket), took the smallest room. However, she was the one who did all the footwork to find the place and she is/was the main contact with the landlord. Without her work, they'd all be still looking but nobody cared about that part and happily shafted her. Gotta love some people.

When my roommate and I were looking for a new home to rent several years ago, we looked at a duplex where the owners lived in the other unit. The owners would do all of the yard work and would be very responsive to problems. I was having some financial difficulties at the time due to being unable to work and shared a little information in case they might have qualms renting to me. Anyway, while my roommate was looking around, the landlady told me that my roommate should pay more rent than me because of my disability status and because he is a man, he should pay more. Unbelievable! I've never heard of landlords doing that. She actually wanted us to submit separate checks. Yeah, we noped out of that one right away!

They could offer themselves to work in exchange of money or place to spend the night. I used to receive people in my house to couch surfing and in exchange I asked the person to teach me a dish from their country or something they know how to cook well. I still know how to do a great risotto from a peruan girl mother recept.

Had a similar thing happen at college. I was sitting in a classroom and heard the girl behind me complaining to her friend about how her father got her a BMW instead of the Mercedes she wanted and she's so upset by it. I turned around to her and said "My first car was a used faded blue '71 Nova 4-door with over 150,000 miles on it..and technically it still belonged to my Dad. Be grateful you have a car." And a guy behind her responds with "Hey..you got to drive a Nova..cool! I love those cars." My friends started giggling.

Again, it's the parents fault. I would have taken back the money, the phone, the scooter, and every single luxury item and or expensive, fancy, decorative thing out of her room and I would have donated it to charity. I would have also got all her clothes and donated them too. I would have given her a 10 dollar voucher from said charity shop so that she can get something to wear for her exclusive private school the rest of the year.

I think the job posting should be clear. It's unpaid because you probably work on commissions only. Some financial advisors earn money based on how many accounts are opened or how much money they can get people to invest.

Possible reasons: - She doesn't have snow tires and is willing to risk her own life to get to work but doesn't want to risk her daughter's - She can safely get to work but her sister is somewhere with more hills / deeper snow, so less safe.

    Mascha Claessens

I usually have the opposite... the bike shop helps me with tiny things (like replacing a valve, adjusting something, etc.), I'll get out my wallet and ask how much it costs, and they're like 'oh, no, service on the house!'. I must say, that's some nice service that makes me come back to the same bike shop. Giving your costumers some trust. So, even though I would never agree for someone to give a bad review online and DEMAND for something like this to be for free (because the bike shop employee has every right to ask to be paid, obviously), I CAN understand how you can be a little disappointed if it turns out you have to pay for such a small service.

My husband didn't want to ever drive a minivan..but changed his mind when he found out we could move our entire apartment without having to pay for a Uhaul....

I have a wife and two kids and as a man I unafraid to say I love the utility of our minivan. The fact that people care that much because it is apparently uncool baffles me.

Minivans are awesome. You can move so much stuff and carry so many people! Why don't people like minivans?

When did people start to think that they are entitled to something for nothing? Is it a generational thing? I don't get it. If the shoe were on the other foot it would be a whole other story.

It's not generational, it's people of all ages. We've turned into a society of entitled asshats and those who just have to deal with the asshattery. I've had teenagers who wanted top of the line everything but didn't want to pay anything, and people in their 60's who seem to think because they're in their 60's they shouldn't have to pay for anything anymore because "things used to be so much cheaper this is such a scam." The idea that the customer is always right has ruined some people's brains it seems.

Yeah, no. You need a model so you pay $150 for the use of the model's nails. That's how things work.

Do you still accept if the Land Rover is a 2000 model with some mileage and the castle has a few broken windows?
