It's insane and spoiled to expect someone to get you a thing for an occasion they weren't invited to! It's like expecting someone to get you a wedding present without inviting them to the wedding

If you have teh knownledge, you can use it. If you don't have it, you'll pay for it. You choose how. Lerning by self or using others skills. Simple.

I remember a guy who approached me asking for money to buy a bus ticket. I didn’t have any money on me but I did have a spare bus ticket. I offered him the ticket and he just rolled his eyes, said no, pffft and walked off.

There was a guy like this near the town I lived in. He would shuffle walk from the corner, up the sidewalk next to the cars saying how he was "mobility challenged and unable to work." A few weeks later, I saw him walking like he had a purpose over a bridge on his way to his usual begging spot. I pointed this out to a local police officer and told him where the guy had come from. A few days later..I didn't see him on the corner. He hasn't returned since.

A guy stopped me walking to work, said he ran out of petrol asked for money, genuinely didn't have cash on me, he then asked if I had a card and would go to cash point with him and withdraw money for him... Not going to lie, it scared the s**t out of me. People can be a******s.

Real beggars aren't choosers - they will take whatever you offer them because THEY NEED IT. Several years ago I was on a road trip with some friends. We had brought some sandwiches and cookies with us to nom. When we were almost at our destination, we saw a roadside panhandler. Something about him gave an aura of sincere need, so we offered our uneaten sandwiches and cookies. He gladly accepted - meaning that he did need them! Instead of giving to roadside beggars, donate to a reputable charity that helps the poor, or volunteer at a food bank. Or both.

I am infuriated with a beggar near the house. First and foremost, he has a cane he and pretends to walk with a limp. I have seen him run across the street (to avoid traffic) and seen him walk in the neighborhood- with no cane nor limp. Secondly, he will come up to your window and actually start yelling if you don't give him anything. Thankfully, he know who I am and avoids me like the plague.

I dont think the lady in my incident was a fraud however super rude. She asked me for a cigarette when i walked in to the liquor store and i walked back to my car and gave her one. Then when i came back out she asked me for another one, because I told her i didnt have another to give she called me the N-word and other not so nice names. There has been a few times me not giving someone money or cigarettes have come with rude reactions and now I dont bat an eye about not giving them anything.

I guess the guy with the sign doesnt have a job then unless he makes money out the people his warning about the guy with a gas tank

My sister watched a "homeless" guy in a wheel chair begging for money. When she came out of the store a little while later, there had been a staffing change. Now a lady was sitting in same wheel chair begging for money. Apparently the first guy walked away when lady came walking up to do her shift on the corner.

Don't ever give money to homeless. If you want to offer something keep non perishable food and drink and offer that. Of they are actually in need, they'll gratefully accept it. If not, they are frauds or looking for beer or drug money.

I don't know why your wasting your time doing that. It's not going to do you any good. It may help not getting him money, but it would waste my life and precious time I have!

A few days ago during my lunch break (1pm) I was sitting in the park and there was a group of chavs/druggies who often beg for money and they have a small dog with them. One of the girls said "a man gave me a fiver (£5) for the dog (to buy it food for a few days, not to buy the dog).. Do you want me to go get some beers with it?"

I had just had lunch, I work downtown, and had half my sandwich in a togo box as I could not eat it all. Walk passed people that are homeless, or just beggars. and he said "boy am I hungry" I offered him the to go box, and he said "Naw, but I will take a couple of bucks for a sandwich" Just shook my head and walked on....

Way to go!

I will offer food to them or their family if they come into where I work. Only one has taken me up on it. Everyone else just wants money. Nope sorry.

I never help these people unless I can clearly see that they're disabled. I f*****g hate when I see young healthy looking people begging for money.

There is a panhandling operating near my house. A man in a green coat, jeans and brown boots stands on the median at a stop light with a cup and a cardboard sign trying to get people to open their car windows. Three times I have been waiting at this intersection and have seen the man trade off with another man wearing the exact same outfit. There are at least 3 of them taking turns trying to scam people.

Had one with a disabled vet sign. I am a veteran, and I offered him a ride to the veterans home where he could get a place to stay, hot food, and medical. He laughed in my face and said "you have to have actually served to get that help, I just want the money." (maybe not exactly that, but essentially the same thing. I still see him on that corner...

Perhaps he has earned the money. If they stand on the side of the road day after day and hour after hour they put in plenty of time and effort but have not one iota of shame or embarrassment for choosing to beg when th3y could just find a job that actually contribute s back to society as a whole.

Basically why I stopped carrying cash. I can honestly say that I don't have any. And - SPARE change? Yeah, because I've got so f*****g much of it I have some to "spare".

My husbands' sister and her spouse were drug addicts and did stuff like this. They also asked for a place to stay after my husband returned from military service (he didn't know about their drug habits) and offered a temporary stay at his apartment. When he went to work, they took everything he had that they thought valuable and sold it to a p**n shop. They stripped him of almost everything and left him there, owing money to the apartment complex for missing items and repair, along with getting evicted. His sister even got his mother to call me and ask for money for their children. I said no, she yelled at me and hung up (his mom was an alcoholic and drug addict when he young).

It's been a long time since anyone has asked me for money but I usually gave something if I could afford it. Usually I'd give to a woman before a man, but I mostly quit when I discovered how crooked some of these people are. Help is out there and I've pointed out help available to many people. Unfortunately that's not what they want. They need money for liquor or drugs.

This is infuriating.

Fat homeless people are the worst. How “hungry” can you be?

I've had the pleasure of such an experience. A colleague of mine, who was in the marketing department (she was just playing Candy Crush all day long most of the times) came to me with a purely illogical and physically impossible request, for a packaging. I politely tried to explain her using her very limited technological knowledge and abilities, that it cannot be done, why it cannot be done, and that I'm not gonna waste my time doing that. I also offered her alternative solutions. Her reaction: "OK!!! Then I'LL DO IT!! It can't be that hard." I gave her my seat, took a step back and enjoyed the rest of the show. She sits on my chair, adjusts it for a minute, stares at the Illustrator window for 10 seconds and says "OK, now TELL me what to do next!!!" I burst into laugh and invited her out of my office before she deletes something important.

How about be grateful for what you get.
