If you're walking around New Jersey, make sure to pay attention to your surroundings, because you just might find tiny wooden people hanging around, created by a Street Artist Joe Iurato.
“One of the elements that I love about doing these smaller wood art pieces is the surprise factor. You might see it. You might not." the artist said in an interview with Brooklyn Street Art. "If you do, though, it's not something that grabbed you from across the street as a massive 40' mural would. Chances are you caught it from the corner of your eye just a few feet away, and the connection made with the work of art is intimate.”
Each of the wood sculptures is a unique short story, often based on the artist's real-life experiences. The wood carving is often placed in a way to look as if it's interacting with the surroundings and before leaving the art installation behind Joe Iurato photographs the scene.
Take a look at some of the unique artworks by Joe Iurato down below.

"Now that you have drawn me, everyone can see me just like you do my friend."
Ha, New Jersey. Now I guess we got a reason to like it lol. :p No offense to Jersians, its just that everyone seems to make fun of them for some reason...
"Look Tommy, look over there, see it's still not safe to leave our hiding place".
this reminds me of Tupac's "The rose that grew from concrete" poem/book
Not at all. This person is stoked to finally have some quiet, restful time.
Load More Replies...That ones kinda sad if you think about it, not putting their phones down around each other.
They are taking a Selfie of each other together ♥
Load More Replies...At least he has his arm around her...it looks like he gave her flowers...selfies??
it's definitely a spray paint can, not a water bottle. ...unless you're in the habit of drinking red water?
I think it's meant to be a can of spray paint in the style of the other graffiti art :)
Load More Replies...yes this is great but do we see kids doing this today, so sad because not enough
Not sure why this comment was downvoted, saying that kids aren't outside drawing with chalk or water paints isn't worth a downvote. I agree, it is sad that kids aren't outside playing.
Load More Replies...Except the father has no face! I found this one kind of creepy except for the child's smile, maybe a comment on childhood innocence, or looking up at his future self
This is strangely joyful and terrifying! He can be smiling and having fun or be struggling and grimacing. I love it!
I am leaning towards struggling and grimacing. He looks like he has a bloody nose.
Load More Replies...This reminds me of a film I saw long ago in elementary school: Cipher in the Snow
i think you mean all your base are belong to us. but wrong context.
Load More Replies...aww I just want to give her a hug and tell her that it will get better....poor baby
I️ think she has a belly ache from eating too many party treats or too much birthday cake.
And that is why he is so sad, someone has hurt him and he can't tell.
.....Remember my name, fame, I'm gonna live forever! I'm gonna learn how to fly, high!
A lot of these were sad. It's tough living on the streets and feeling like you are all alone. I got the impression that quite a few of them were runaways from child abuse. If that is the theme, then I think this a great way to raise awareness! I just want to hug them all and tell them that it does get better and that they are not alone <3
These are all amazing! I've really enjoyed the art. I appreciate that they were shared on here
The title "Artist Leaves Tiny Wooden Figures Around The City For People To Find" is misleading. After viewing the article, I gathered that this artist is just trying to bring awareness to his work rather than what the title of this article is implying i.e. a scavenger hunt for the cutouts. "Telling Stories" can also be considered as "Telling Lies". Great PR work.
