New York comic book illustrator, writer and producer Tom Hunt, the person behind the popular web comic series Scarecrowbar, likes his comics like I like my coffee: dark, simple, and with a strong taste. So get your daily dose of strong punchy comics based on everyday life. Who knows, you might even find them oddly relatable.

Comics like these don't go unnoticed here at Bored Panda, and we highly suggest checking out the first part of the same series, which you may find here.

This is why we need term limits and mandatory retirement age for politicians. They don't have to face the consequences of their decisions. They live for what time they have and not for the future. Seriously, at 80 years of age does anyone think they care what happens in the next 5 years?

Here are some of Tom Hunt's influences that he's been willing to share with us in an interview from a previous post. "The trio of cartoonists that opened up the world of webcomics to me were Ryan North, Anthony Clark, and KC Green of Dinosaur Comics, Nedroid, and Gunshow Comics, respectively. Anime Club by KC Green remains one of my favorite things ever made.

One of the greatest modern comic masterpieces is Pictures for Sad Children, of which I drew a lot of visual inspiration, especially early on. Recently, I’ve been enjoying Close Your Eyes Look At The Mountains. Juniper Abernathy may be making the best comics in the world right now, everything she releases is gold."

A woman would always stand in front of the hospital with a box and a picture of a "sick boy". I saw her again, after like 5 years, with the same picture. She did not appreciate me saying that by now the boy is either cured or dead and she should download another picture to scam people. She wasn´t there when I let about 30 minutes later. Damn scammers.

This is a scam. The corporation already donated to the nonprofit (for tax breaks not out of the goodness of their heart) and are just asking customers to reimburse them.

Not how it works at all, it shows up on your receipt as a donation so must by law be donated. The company trying to donate then use the funds individuals donate to reimburse the business is tax fraud and would land anyone involved in prison the very first year

As for how much time it takes to make a single comic, Tom said that"it depends, as I imagine it does for most cartoonists. Sometimes I tinker endlessly trying to find the right punchline. The best comics are usually the ones that come naturally on the first pass—though those are rare. I’m lucky to have a few friends I demo every comic on before posting—without them I’d be lost."

American here (take a breath). I consider myself close to the center but tend to lean a bit left, and I listen to both sides because I try to stay informed. That said, I truly blame the media for intentionally trying to keep us divided. Why? Because they tell people what they want to hear. CNN, FOX...two sides of the same coin. For the record FOX can $uck it but I still listen to hear what they spew, as painful as it may be. And again, as an American in MN, shout out to the BBC. That seems to be my neutral zone.

Many in Europe think in the US democrats are the left and republicans the right, in the sense that they are understood in Europe. That is not the case. The case is, democrats are the right, and republicans are whatever it is that is to the right from right. Like quite a way right from right.

This is so true. And I find the US has a lot less nuances in political ideologies as well than we do in France for exemple. There isn't even a name in English for what would be closest to my ideas. In the US it seems everything is just in plain black and white, and it got me very confused at first when I moved there.

The GOP have successfully turned the US into the largest banana republic in the world. Actively and openly stopping people from voting and disrupting the democratic progress and shamelessly push themselves and the top 2% while letting the rest of the country go to hell is the act of dictators, not democratic patriots.

I'm American. I remember one yr our teacher had us raise our hands and close our eyes and counted the number of democrat and republican students in highschool. It's was 50/50. Then he handed us a test asking us to pick a or b core values. Every last one of us was scored democratic core values. I was republican at the time I was told rep equals less government control. Now watching women rights go down the toilet and GOP trying ban slavery being taught schools. And the house of republicans voted 93% yes on if they should ban birth control. Our dem president clearly has Alzheimer's and the GOP has full control of the USA. Anarchy is my political party.

When it comes to inspiration,"a lot of it is having imaginary conversations in my head. Following the threads of your wandering thoughts until it unveils something that makes you laugh. Some of my comics have been called 'political' to which, sure, sometimes I’ve been overt about that. But I guess that’s just because it’s at the forefront of my mind at the moment. I try to stay honest to wherever my headspace is at."

Sooooo true, people who have only ever worked 9-5 jobs tend not to realise that sleep patterns need to be shifted around for people who work shifts! My parents used to call me lazy for sleeping in until 10am and I'd have to explain that I was working until 11pm, then I had to have dinner and then wind down with TV just like everyone else, so it ends up being like 2pm by the time I'm sleepy enough to go to bed. Which is perfectly fine because I wasn't at work againuntul the following eve!

Republicans in power celebrated the SCOTUS decision as a win. Democrats in power celebrated the SCOTUS decision as a "great opportunity". Both parties are gross. If America can't get a third party in power soon, it (being America) will do down as a failed experiment in the next 50 years.

Unfortunately it is not that easy. Due to lobbying and dark money in our politics it is the people with the most money wins. This is why we are where we are. Both parties have problems, but the GOP is not even hiding the fact that it wants to bring us back to the dark ages and get rid of democracy. Vote Blue, than we might have a chance to fix things.

Uhhhhh your argument to bring back democracy is to vote in more of the party who openly admits they want to control every aspect of your life? Republicans are already bad enough wanting to control a couple things but you want people who want to control everything...... the same party who still had kkk members in it until literally just over a decade ago, the same party who passed Jim Crowe laws all the way until the 60s, 40 years AFTER everyone insists democrats and Republicans just woke up one day and all decided to think the opposite of what they did before, the party that opposed the Civil rights act, the party that violently attacks people in the street, fakes the other party attacking them, the party who encourages people to shoot others then acts like a victim when someone stands up to them.. not surprised though we are talking about people who voted in Obama and Clinton then bitched when Trump reinstated their policy's just because of a R next to his name *shrug*

Creative disciplines such as this one cause a lot of burnouts, so we asked how Tom deals with his.

"Having done a lot of different types of work, it’s hard to complain about burnout for creative work. That said, every now and then I find myself in a place where I’m thinking 'I don’t really have anything to say right now'—what are you supposed to do? If anyone reading this knows, please tell me."

We also asked Tom about how people usually react to his work.

"Mostly pretty positive! Anytime someone reaches out to tell me they really like a comic or it made them laugh or it changed their mind about something—I don’t take that lightly. It really makes my day. I hope anyone who does that knows their acts of kindness make a huge difference in my world."

Sounds like me I don't drink coffee either.

"When George Floyd was murdered I wanted to scream into the universe. I ended up locking myself away for several hours to draw some comics to work out how I felt, something I’ve done since I was very young. I ended up showing a couple to friends who encouraged me to post them, so I did—and not too long after I found them at the top of Reddit. So I decided to keep going with it.

There’s a moment while illustrating when a comic crosses the threshold between an idea and a real thing. It always sneaks up on me during the process—but suddenly I’ll look up and see it’s coming to life and this is what it will look like. It’s exciting and satisfying."

Still upset my highschool didn't seem to have any sort of reunion last year or this year. It was actually something I was looking forward to since I graduated. But just like drivers Ed, it's probably another myth in this day and age, a leftover from a time when schools were actually funded and unnecessary advanced calculus wasn't a requirement because it was useless to learn outside of a college / career setting. Yet no other subjects seemed to ever get an update.

In the UK the Christmas stuff arrives in stores as soon as the Back to School promotions have finished. The decorations don't go up until 1st Nov though. It's so depressing, 4 months of Christmas adverts and by the day itself I want nothing to do with it.

If stores would have a constant (but tiny) section of holiday stuff year-round it wouldn't be such an issue. And start having the large sections of holiday stuff have a bigger overlap. It's easter? Have a small section of Easter stuff and a larger section of whatever holiday comes after. Especially true of seasonal clothing items (doesn't have to be holiday, either) we need coats and swimsuits to be accessible all year round.

Look, stores have to start selling Christmas things early so that people have time to get their shopping done. Halloween is less than 8 weeks from Christmas. All 350 million of us can't wait until December to shop or the lines will never end. Also, decorations have to be purchased well before Christmas if you're going to put them up and enjoy them for more than a few days. There is nothing wrong with any of this.

This didn't happen. Watch the tapes. A jury found him innocent after going through ALL the evidence. The news projected the narrative that their handlers directed them to, and millions ate it up. Kyle Rittenhouse fired his weapon in self defense. If he hadn't, he would've been dead. He wasn't the aggressor. Don't be a parrot. Educate yourself on actual facts before you post.

According to the Washington Post, "victim #1" Rosenbaum admitted he had spent most of his adult life in prison for molesting five preteen boys. "Victim #2" Huber spent time in prison for violating probation he was on for strangling his brother and again for assaulting his sister. So he committed domestic violence multiple times and was a parole violator, that makes him a repeat offender and a violent criminal. "Victim #3" Grosskreutz said he was not intentionally pointing his weapon at Kyle, but during cross-examination admitted that it was pointed at Rittenhouse when he was shot. We all saw the video, he ran up to Kyle and pointed the gun at him and got shot for it. Kyle defended himself and only shot these three people when they attacked him. Believe what made up story you want but the court made the right decision based on facts, evidence and the law, instead of liberal media lies.

No matter who started it the kid with the gun was in an area he shouldn't have been. He didn't even live there yet he admitted he took a gun to that neighborhood because he thought he needed to protect it from BLM members. He was probably just hoping something would go down so he'd have an excuse to shoot..

NO! GUNS DONT KILL PPL! PPL KILL PPL! IT IS IN THE USE THAT IS WRONG! DONT HATE THE TOOL. Hammers can kill ppl and I don't see ppl up in arms about a "Dewalt hmr 15 assault hammer". There is no side effect of a gun. It is a EFFECT, that is what it is designed to do. A person decides to pull a trigger, not the gun. Hate the person, not the tool. EFFING IDGETS! The primary focus is to kill… bad guys. Well, that’s what they say it is at least. I personally think you should have a gun for defense, they just need to do better background checks and take them away from people with mental illnesses. Also no one needs an ar15 just a normal gun is fine

    Redpen88
    Community Member
3 years ago Created by potrace 1.15, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2017

The ArmaLite Rifle 15 is a "normal gun." One trigger pull, one bullet is fired. Background checks are already extensive. Not all mental illnesses should prevent firearm ownership. A lot of the issues stem from illegal or stolen firearms (NOT ALL, as there are cases where a legally owned firearm has been utilized) and from a failing healthcare system in which mental health is $300+ out of pocket expense and insurance (if you're lucky enough to have it) can DENY coverage claims for seeking needed help.

Wikipedia: Venera 7 entered the atmosphere of Venus on 15 December 1970. [...] The probe transmitted information to Earth for 53 minutes, which included about 20 minutes from the surface. It was found that the temperature at the surface of Venus was 475 °C (887 °F) ± 20 °C. Using the temperature, and models of the atmosphere, a pressure of 9.0 MPa [about 88 times the pressure of earths surface atmosphere, info added by me] was calculated. From the spacecraft's rapid halt (from falling to stationary inside 0.2 seconds), it was possible to conclude that the craft had hit a solid surface with low levels of dust. The probe provided information about the surface of Venus, which could not be seen through a thick veil of atmosphere. The spacecraft definitively confirmed that humans cannot survive on the surface of Venus, and excluded the possibility that there is any liquid water on the planet.

No consequences? We're having hearings! Hearings that by their very nature result in no charges unless the DOJ chooses to pursue them and so far it doesn't seem to even be paying attention, but you know... Hearings.

Letting people out without posting bail is making crime worse. There's no reason for them to show up for court. Try to kill someone? No problem! You're out in a few hours... Get caught with 150,000 fentanyl pills that could kill tons of people? No problem! Out in a few hours... "Gee... I wonder why they didn't show for their court date? Where are they now?"

One of my immediate family will go to the funerals of all the others: Chances are- that's me. I'm the youngest by two years, am afab, don't drink, eat meat but not a lot- I'm well set up to out live all of my siblings. On the other hand, based on average lifespans of each of our specific natures, I'm also most likely to die first, as the average lifespan of a trans individual is 32 years. Not due to surgerical complications or anything, just due to the transphobia and depression and anxiety. I'm 27 now, so. Let's see which one I'm gonna be.

Not really a big Rogan fan but I'm not sure that most critics of the guy have ever listened to any of his podcasts. I've listened to a few when I was interested in hearing the perspective of his guests and I've noticed a few themes. 1. Joe is regularly self depreciating, frequently reminding listeners that he's, "a professional comedian and idiot." I also remember hearing him say that he is in no way an expert on any of the topics he was discussing and that what he wants most is to understand the perspective of his guest. 2. Most times that I've heard him reference something "learned from a guest" he clearly stated who his source is and reminds his current guest that he knows nothing of the topic other than what his previous guest told him. 3. I've heard him a couple of times self-retract when he was uncertain of a topic. I've also heard him ask his producer to fact check something because he was worried the guest may obfuscating. Ironic he's being canceled for inclusiveness.

I agree. It seems there's a lot of 30 second to minute clips taken from his 2 to 3 hour long podcast, incredibly easy to take that out of context. Unfortunately there's some people who will say that context doesn't matter.

I don't pay for Spotify. If I want to listen to music offline, I either burn CD's bought directly from the artists or download over dubious websites from YouTube. Only 5 skips per month, no offline music and not being able to play specific songs without "play similar" (which is actually pretty nice, because I discover some really good artists this way) is preferable over paying 10€ a month.

I just wish I didn't have to pay to listen to my own music. I don't have premium, so all of my playlists have music in it that I don't like and have to listen to. If I delete it, it gives me another song in the EXACT SAME STYLE AND GENRE!

I know I'm weird, but I didn't used to like nutty butter cookies when I was a kid but they're okay now. But then, I'm not that big on peanut butter things.

Best would be something peer-reviewed like the Encyclopedia Britannica. Wikipedia can be changed by practically anyone. A dangerous weapon for misinformation. Even with good people on the lookout. They can't source every site or every paragraph. What would be best is if changes are reviewed by the crowd before they are in effect.

Everyone in my family always felt this way when walking up our basement stairs, but we never really talked about it until all of us kids were grown. My parents even admitted to running up and checking over their shoulders. Other strange occurrences in that house made us believe it was definitely haunted though.

well, if you're going to employ a research-and-development staff, with six-figure salaries, then they have to justify themselves somehow, don't they? Just making the product better isn't flashy enough for the advertising department. Gotta compete, y'know.
