Health authorities all across the world are declaring quarantine and encouraging people to practice social distancing by minimizing contact with other people as much as possible and maintaining a distance of at least six feet between themselves to minimize the toll the hospitals and medical staff are experiencing by slowing the spread of the novel coronavirus. And thankfully, it seems like a lot of people are taking it seriously by sharing advice on how to maintain and even improve your relationships while staying home with your significant other or by creating infographics to make the concept of social distancing easier to understand. However, some people think it’s best just to lead by example are dedicated to making the best of the quarantine period. And to our joy, they took to Twitter to share their ideas!

Some of those people look like they’re getting a little too close to each other.
Guys, you're smiling now, but wait until you can't leave your home. Social distancing, yet meeting up with people on the streets. Sure, it's fun now but... Geez, I live in Spain. We're quarantined. We might still try to keep spirits high, go out to dance on our balconies, give a nightly ovation to everyone who is working to eradicate this, etc., but it actually really sucks. Take all the precautions you can because I don't even want to imagine how the US--without universal healthcare or laws protecting workers who can't go to work--is going to deal with the pandemic...
Thank you for this circumspection. People are being way too cutesy about this. It isn't cute. And a lot of those people are not distant.
Load More Replies...I wish this was how people were acting in my city (Edmonton, AB - currently 119 cases). Had to go to the shops this morning for a few things and no one (besides myself) were maintaining any sort of distance between one another. S**t's real people. Take this kind of thing seriously... lots of elderly and immune compromised people out there!
We are keeping our distance, but still trying to help each other. There are several of us in this neighborhood with dogs to walk. We told all of our neighbors, if you need something, anything, tape a note to your door. One of the dog-walking neighbors will see it, get the note and do our best to get you what you need. So far this week, I have left groceries for two neighbors and a prescription for another. One of the other dog people has done grocery shopping for two more neighbors. We can't socialize, but we can still help.
Unless people live in apartments or places with no backyards, there's no need to walk the dogs. We have 2 dogs, and very fortunately a back yard. We just play "keep away" with toys to tucker them out. It's working. However everyone else on my street ALSO with substantial back yards are walking around, getting close with others like it ain't no thing. I do not understand it.

Please make a PacMan out of postits and see if they make a ghost!

Here in South Africa, we have just ended Day 1 of a 21-day Lockdown. I live in a retirement village, none of us are allowed out of the gates, for fear of bringing the virus in, washing hands, socially distancing. No dog-walking allowed on the streets, luckily we have plenty of room in the village, for that. In our dining area, only 2 to a table, very few in the large Lounge area, I'm feeling lonely, so BP is an entertainment.
Those people are idiots. SD means you stay in your f*****g house and yard, not meet up in public.
If you're OUTSIDE, enough distance away (more than 6 feet/2 meters, though I would be mindful of the wind), you're not going to catch the virus. The droplets are heavy and don't stay in the air past six feet (2 meters). The people who are staying far enough away are fine, and it's good for their mental health to be able to have that kind of contact with each other, so it's okay.
Load More Replies...And one of the chinese guys who came in italy to help, said that there are people still around in big numbers, and we should close every single activity for 15 days and stay at home.
I mean.... just because you cant get close to each other doesn't mean ya cant have a little get-together!! love it lol
I like this, so many negative comments. Yeah this is really bad, but if you want to keep your sanity you'll just laugh and enjoy life. Or you'll be a sad sack.
What part of wash your hands constantly, stay home as much is possible it's so hard to understand ? You can practice social distance when you go to bank, supermarket or to farmácia. None of this photos is okay. It's irresponsible because have so much we still don't know about the virus and we are so far away of the cure.
If you are shopping you can sort of use the shopping trolley to keep social distance. My local supermarket has antiseptic wipes we can use for the trolleys. ___ rural Australian.
We did all these things in the beginning in Italy. They feel kind of naive to me now. I hope they work for you and you don't ever get to the epidemic we're living here, but they're talking about curfews here now, and honestly it seems like nothing works except for staying at home.
