"Yeah! I Kept Them All"
He's thinking "dammitdon'tcrydon'tcrydon'tcrydon't-" and I love that
I’m not gonna lie, this made me tear up! For a middle schooler to keep all those notes really showed that she appreciated all of them at such a young age. Sometimes stepparents don’t get enough credit for stepping in but this proved to him that she loves him too! Love his reaction!!! I’m not crying, You are! 💕😭
Beautiful way to show him how much what he did meant to you. He showed you how much you mean to him.
Parents often aren't sure if they're getting through to their kids -- especially approaching and during teen years. Well, Daddy, YOU SURE DID!
Today I Found Out That The Overnight Security Guard At My Work Knits Boots And Mittens For Premature Babies At The Edinburgh Royal Infirmary
Aight so who tf is saying knitting isn't "manly"?? Imma beat you up
This is adorable. Knitting and crocheting have both been proven to be very meditative and relaxing hobbies.
I love crochet but sometimes it makes me want to tear my hair out. I don't know how it can be meditative when you have to pay constant close attention or you completely screw up the pattern. Ladies who say they crochet while watching TV mystify me. What exactly are they "watching" that they can crochet at the same time? Knitting is even harder for me and would give me a heart attack, I'm sure.

When all the topics on the news speak about calamities, our thoughts get dark and counterproductive. In order to keep yourself on the bright side of life, there are some things you could do.
Forbes suggests limiting your news intake and choosing a single news source. Another great tip is looking back to the past. Think of all the hard times we've been through, from 9/11 to the 2008 financial crisis, and tell yourself you made it.
The next tip reads as follows: “watch a funny video,” and for this one you know where to look at. Bored Panda is known for the most liked collections of the funniest and most wholesome things on the internet. Scroll through our never-ending selection here to get those feel-good vibes back on track.
Parents Must Be So Proud
Remember Americans that you dont own the country, your ancestors invaded it. The vast majority of Americans are migrant of from migrants descendants.
Dude you're wasting your breathe, the amount of entitled Conservative rednecks in this Country is appalling.
Load More Replies...This is the America that I love to see and not the one with morons protesting because they want to go to the hair salon.
This is truly beautiful! To anyone who says that immigrants and refugees do not contribute to their adoptive homeland , I really want you to stare long and hard and these photos. Remember that your ancestors were likely immigrants, migrants, or refugees at one point or another.
I love this story because mine is very similar. I was born in a refugee camp along with 3 siblings. My parents came to the states with $0. I was the first in the family to graduate with a BS and then an MA. I was a police officer and now I am an elementary school teacher. My siblings all now have degrees and are productive members of the society. All these negative comments shows just how entitled some born citizens are. It's easy to talk trash when you were raised in privilege.

I Told My Grandma I Was Bisexual A Few Weeks Ago And Today She Gave Me This. My Grandma Made Me A Rainbow Sweater
Not all older people are conservative wackadoodles. One of my favorite things about my ex’s family was her grandmother seemed to be a quite rational and straightforward woman, rather than conservative and “surface-focused” like the older women in my own family.
Load More Replies...The most beautiful thing about that sweater is the unconditional love that was put into it. It looks so comfy! What a wonderful woman!
I recently came out as bisexual and my mom is the only one I've told so far and she's supportive
Forbes list also suggests “taking advantage of found time,” “supporting your local favorite businesses,” “sending gifts in the mails.” It’s also a perfect moment to practice random acts of kindness as seen in this post. This Husband Spent 2 Years Planting Thousands Of Scented Flowers For His Blind Wife To Smell And Get Her Out Of Depression
I hope this will be me and my future hubbie. Little Girl Thought My Wife Was The Princess From Her Favorite Book
My wife and I got married last February and during the photo shoot this little girl and her mom happened to be walking by. The little girl thought my beautiful wife was the Princess from her favorite book (the one she's holding). My wife gave her a flower from her bouquet.
Omg for a "happy" post I'm crying an awful lot. Well, time to read the rest!

During His Wedding Photoshoot A Groom Saves A Boy From Drowning
I think if I was his bride these would be more precious to me in the future than wedding photos. You don't get pictures of character too often.
I live in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Over 50 years ago I was a near drowning victim. A complete stranger jumped into the community swimming pool in the dead of winter to save me. My mother never got his name. I wish I could thank him.
I'm sure you paid it forward in different ways many times. And that's how you thanked him.

Load More Replies...It's sad that this is the exception. Who WOULDN'T have gone in to grab the kid? What kind of sick creep would refuse to help?
I think it's more about how he did it himself in his nice clothes, instead of yelling for someone else to come help. Like obviously you're not gonna let the kid drown, but to jump in without a second thought to preserving your dignity is a sign of character. Like the story of the Good Samaritan.

A Hero Can Be Anyone, No Special Powers Needed
Wanted to give a shout-out to this girl. No idea who she is, but we are in Wrigleyville on the rooftop of Old Crow Smokehouse. There was a blind Cubs fan trying to hail a cab for several minutes until the lady came up and asked him if he needed help hailing a cab. She stood there with him until one pulled up. Awesome to see such kindness in a world that the media portrays so much hate in. Share freely in hopes that her kindness spreads.
How freaking awful that no cab stopped for him?! It must have been obvious what he was trying to do. Glad she helped him out.
The media needs to focus on the good. This is tender and we can all learn from her example.
Wholesome Landlord
You are very lucky to have a landlord so kind and understanding.
This is beautiful, I myself own a duplex home in Miami two units both rented out. They are struggling just like the rest of world is now. Before they got to tell me I told not to worry about paying me rent for the next 5 months! And not to worry about back pay it's ok. And before you ask no I'm not rich and no I don't got it like it that. But growing up in the south Bronx I knew what it was to struggle and have nothing. It's the least I could do I wish I could do more for my tenants but at least they don't have to worry about losing their homes!! Pay it forward I love my fellow man and woman! Always be kind and always show love!! Everyone stay safe!
I've read about businesspeople like you. You may never be rich, financially, but when you leave this world, you will be loved. And you will be remembered.
Load More Replies...Wish mine was like that. Told him I needed a temporary reduction, spread out payments. Something. "I need the money. I'm broke too." Now I've got a loan to pay off to pay rent off.
Is it not possible to do that business without being broke? Is it only possible to make money via f*****g over the tenants and being a slumlord?
Load More Replies...I Love It When A Neighbor Kid Knocks On The Door And Asks If My Husband Can Come Out And Play
I love it! My aunt is the popular "kid" herself despite the fact that she's in her 60's.
Load More Replies...My dad was like that. When I was growing up he loved playing with all my friends. We had a garage attached to our house (not all houses in our estate did) he would organise a party in our garage every Halloween and would bring out our old record player ( it was the early 80's) and play the music. At work he was the one who came up with the idea and organised for the company to have a Christmas party for all the kids of the people who worked there. He even organised a Santa and bought all the presents for 300 or more kids. He did the same for the kids on our estate, hiring out places for a Christmas party for us and organising a Santa and presents for us. He even rented out a reel of cartoons for the weekend ( the company's party was always on a Saturday and the estate party the next day). He even put his skills into helping organising my birthday parties. The best part is, he LOVED it. he was the biggest kid there. He was brilliant.
My 88 year old Dad used to play baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates. When he was younger, the neighbor kids would knock on our door to ask if he would come out and hit some balls with them. I have memories of him doing this and giving the kids pointers on how to be better players.
The little boy next door when I was a child use to come to our front door and smush his little face into the window and ask if Kenny could come out and play. My dad's name was Ken. <3
The little girl next door to me at my last house would catch me outside before I’d go to sleep after an overnight shift, and she’d keep me on the porch for HOURS reading jokes off some taffy wrappers to me!! Ugh!! She’s all grown up with her own little one now. They grow up so quick!!

No, you're not messed up. If this doesn't tug at a person's heartstrings they have no feelings.
Load More Replies...Thank you for honoring your mom and her beloved kitty by keeping her. So many animals get dumped after their human dies, making the animal suffer not only the loss of their human and home, but throwing them in an unfamiliar place. Animals grieve for their loss too.

Her Dad Has Always Been The Best And This Just Confirmed It
Aww that was very sweet. It breaks my heart when parents can't accept their child for who they are. Those types of people should never have kids.
As a parent you are supposed to love your children unconditionally, not love them so long as they fit into the mould you think they should. I think the OP showed her parents exactly how kind, compassionate and loving towards them she is by keeping them in her life for a further 5 years after their initial reaction. She seems to be a great person despite her parents x

This Man Giving Out Over 700 "Free Dad Hugs" At A Pride Parade To People Rejected By Their Parents
You don't deserve to call yourself a parent if you reject your own child for their sexuality!
I hate hearing about people who are rejected by their "families" because of their sexuality, so I love to hear about things like this. No parent should ever reject their child because of their sexuality or any reason. To anyone who has been rejected by their family: I don't know you, but in me, you have a loving sister.
Oh yeah, there's a whole organization of parents like this. They're so awesome!
There's also a woman who's offering to come as a mom to your wedding if your own mom has rejected you because of your sexuality! The kindness of people like these is amazing!

Posts like this help me see that there is still beauty, joy, and good people in the world despite what is going on around us at this time.

I don't know when the last time this man was held and cared for physically like this; it could have been decades, and her immediate reaction to comfort him, help him put his shoes on, etc. was so genuine

When I was little our class put on "The Wedding of the Painted Doll". To this day I still envision all the toys coming to life, and this was way before Toy Story.
See, this is why it’s good I don’t have children because of all the trauma I might cause if I had a child who believed this. I would totally be placing her toys inches from her face whilst she slept so she’d wake up with a toy staring at her in the face. Or gather them up while she’s in the bathroom and place them in different positions to where they were originally lol
my cousin used to do this to me when we were growing up. She gathered all my barbies & surrounded them around me and when i woke up, she told me that they were mad at me. She constantly moved my stuffies around so freak me out. My mom bought me a "my size doll" and she had red hair...my cousin then told me that she was Chucky's sister and was going to kill me in my sleep. I made my mom get rid of the damn thing. To this day, i have a phobia of dolls.

I started to think about everyone in situations like this during this time especially kids and my heart can't take it, I see my 4yr old boy (and he's no angel) and couldn't imagine anyone going through some of the things I've read about, some kids really love school as an escape. Saw This Man Yesterday When I Was In Mecca. Letting A Cat Drink From His Palms When He Couldn't Find A Cup
St. Francis of Assisi (know as the patron saint of animals) would be proud.
Yesterday we passed a dead bird and a live bird standing over it. My husband turned the car around, parked next to the birds, and kinda shooed the live bird off the road far into the grass so it didn't get run over like other bird. Then we watched and made sure it went farther in the grass and not back in the road. A few months ago we rehabbed a hawk that temporarily could notfly.
Humanity will be judged by how we treat our most vulnerable and our animals.
A Year Ago My Little Sister Left This World. This Weekend Her Heart Recipient Met My Mom And Shared Her Heart Beat
Both of these people are so very admirable. The mother who saved lives despite the loss of someone close to her, and the man who let her know how much it meant to him.
My uncle received a heart transplant after he was past the age they’d normally give someone a new organ. But they just happened to have a heart that was below the threshold for a younger patient. That has been well over a decade ago, and as far as I know he’s still going strong. Under normal circumstances, he volunteers at the local police department doing part of their social media.
My friend's 23-y/o daughter's heart stopped. She was in the hospital and had already decided if her procedure wasn't successful that she wanted everything possible donated. Her mom told me that almost every part of her body was able to be used for restorative procedures for burn victims, cancer patients who'd had large muscles removed, organs, nail beds from feet and hands, eyebrows-scalp-eyelashes, eyes, inner and outer ear structures, bone marrow, cartilage, nerve tissue, blood, plasma, intestines -- everything except the kidneys that had failed.
Berry Budgie the man was the recipient of her deceased daughter's heart! So she's listening to it beat again.

Right? I studied Russian at school for five years and all I know is most of the alphabet, how to count to ten and probably three basic questions to ask. Just because English is the most widely spoken language doesn’t mean it’s easy for a non-native speaker to learn.
Load More Replies...As someone who works with language and limited proficiency English speakers, this makes me so happy. I get so angry at people who make fun of other people who are attempting to learn their language.
Everyone needs to understand this about people who don't speak their language.
I'm currently self teaching myself Spanish, English is my first language
I've met so many wonderful drivers on Lyft/Uber. Some of them are up-front about still learning to speak English fluently, and that they couldn't get hired at other jobs. A driver from Serbia in his 60s had been in the U.S. for a couple of years. He had flash cards with questions on them and asked "If I wanted to play." All I had to do to win a beautiful pastry and cold bottle of juice was critique his answers and pronunciation.
I was lucky I grew up traveling internationally, I learned 2 languages at the same time, this wired my brain to pick up new languages pretty quickly. The down side is that if I don't use the language, I don't retain it for long, although certain phrases do stick in my brain. I understand how hard it is to learn a new language and feel comfortable using it. For a while I worked in a machine shop. We had people who where born in the USA, Eastern Europe, Spain and Mexico. Of course everybody was friendly, but when they were in groups with other from their country they would speak their birth languages. We had several women (who were "American"). They would complain "We are in America everybody should speak English". It took me a bit to figure it out. They were upset for 2 reasons: 1) They could not be nosy and eavesdrop. 2) They were afraid the "foreigners" were talking about them.
I ran out of room: I believe that most people who are "upset" by someone speaking a language they don't understand come from a place of fear.

You dont have to care for cats in order to help cats, you just have to care for other living beings.
This reminds me of my mother. My cat had to come with me on weekends at her house because she was a diabetic and got 2 shots a day. This was the dialog I heard one Saturday morning. "You should get down from my lap." pause "I don't like cats." pause "I have things to do." Now add the visual. The cat is walking back and forth across her lap, and she petting her with long sweeps while she complains.
He needs to talk to the cooler box guy further up about shelters...but these cats will probably be living inside and curled up on his lap pretty soon.LOL
I got news for them, he does care for the cats and they care for him or they wouldn't keep coming back. Putting out food and water for them IS an added enticement though.
Soon they will be sleeping on his chest. I didn't know I liked cats till I knew cats cause my parents didn't like them.

Such a simple gesture, but it holds so much love and meaning for me
GrandMothers are just older ladies who are wonderful at loving their grandchildren!
My grandma saved my life when at 2 weeks old my mom tried to kill me. Her plan was to bury me in the 6 foot show drifts near out house in Northern Ohio. I only know because as an adult my told me the story to prove her continued hate for me. Could have gone the rest of my life without knowing this.
That is awful! I am so, so sorry that you had such an awful mother but thank the world for your grandma!

The Planet Is Not An Ashtray
It is amazing how many smokers think that it's ok to discard their cigarets butts anywhere. When I see one who puts her/his in an ashtray, I always feel like thanking her/him !
Maybe they think that one little butt won't make any difference ... but every little one adds up!
Load More Replies...That is disgusting. I am an ex smoker but if I couldn’t find somewhere to dispose of my butts, I would put it out then put it in my handbag.
Smoking is bad on its own, but treating the earth like an ashtray makes it even worse.
This makes me so angry!! I will see cigarette butts maybe two feet away from an actual receptacle meant to dispose of the cigarettes. Amazing that they can't walk a few feet over to dispose of them...
It is the same with trash cans. There are lazy a******s all over our planet who could give a s**t less!!! I'm with you!
Load More Replies...My hero. As a smoker, I am very conscientious of where my smoke is going so as not to offend others or set off allergies or asthma attacks. I also learned many years ago that one cigarette filter can kill an entire family of birds, so I always tear the filters off & put them in a pocket or in my purse. Just because I smoke doesn't mean I have to behave like a mongrel.
I've Always Wondered Why CPR Isn't A Core Class In High School. I Graduated 10 Years Ago And Have Used CPR Three Times Which Is Three Times More Than I Have Used Calculus
My wife and I were stopping at the store to get dinner, and I saw an older gentleman laid down in the road in front of the store, so I pulled over and rushed to his side. Another guy was next to him checking his pulse and said he couldn’t find it, so we pulled him out of the road, and immediately begin chest compressions. The two of us worked on him for about five minutes or so while a whole bunch of onlookers just stood there. The paramedics finally arrived and took over, and after shocking him several times and what felt like a lifetime, were able to stabilize him, and get him to the hospital. A police officer came over and told us he had a massive heart attack
CPR should absolutely be taught in schools, everyone should have the basic knowledge on how to save someone's life
When did they stop teaching it? When I was in middle school, it was part of the required curriculum for health and PE classes.
Load More Replies...'while a whole bunch of onlookers just stood there' - It's not like everyone can do cpr on him at the same time though
It was taught it in the 80's where I went to HS. Used it twice more than calc.
Tennessee Schoolkids Held Toy Drive For Classmate Who Lost Everything In House Fire
One of our Warriors lost all of his belongings in a house fire. His 3rd grade teachers and classmates started a secret toy drive for him to replace the toys he lost. He received the toys and he was so surprised and thankful
Same thing happened to my daughter. Our house burnt down 3 years ago. She was only in kindergarten and only 2 days later the school called for us to pick up her "school work" and the entire office was filled with all kinds on donations. We couldn't hide our emotions. The most humbling experience of my life. I will never be the same.. in a good way :)

We had a fantastic German language Professor in college named Deiter. We were always laughing in his class and we all looked forward to it. There were two older sisters in the class (in their 40's.) One was an accountant and the other was an opera singer. They made him a poster that included a poem in which key words like "snicker" and "mounds" were replaced with candy bars of the same name...taped to the poster. We also collected money from everyone and I was tasked with finding a present. Luckily, there was a Bavarian style tourist town about an hour away. I drove there and found a crystal stein with a schooner engraved on it. He loved it all!!! I miss German class!

A Florida Man Who Once Spent Christmas Without Gas Paid Off The Past Dues For 36 Families At Risk Of Losing Their Electricity
He found out who was at risk of having their power turned off and spent $4,600 making their holidays a little less stressful. Instead of warnings, the families received these cards.
When I worked at Amerigas...I learned of a couple that comes in every Christmas and donates a propane tank refill to a family in need. We aren't talking ten gallons by any means...we're talking 500 gallon tanks. I remembered earlier that week, a young woman raising 3 kids on her own, on the phone with my boss bawling that she'd lost her job and was out of money to refill the tank before winter. When this couple walked in, she immediately knew who she was putting forth for the donation.
Some day I hope to be able to do something like this. As a child we lived in deep poverty, and as an adult while we work hard, times are still tough. Stories like this make me so happy

My Mother does something similar. She is part of a quilting group called The Yeats Country Quilters’ named after famed Irish poet W.B Yeats are based in Drumcliffe, Co. They all buy the material with their own money and everything to make the quilts with and donate them all for free. The parents of the babies are allowed to keep the quilt after. Some babies who sadly didn't make it were buried with the quilt or their parents kept it as a keepsake. There is a short article here all about it and their work with the hospital. My mother is the 3rd from the right in the purple sweater. I am so proud of her. The paramedics decided that a visit was long overdue, and although David's injury required transportation to a different Brisbane hospital, the paramedics sought permission to conduct a surprise visit to his wife’s ward in Redland's Hospital along the way.
Of course, officers knew better than to turn up empty-handed and first helped David pick up a bouquet of flowers.
