Firefighter Holding A 2-Year-Old Child Of The Man He Saved From A Fire, When The Man Was 2 Years Old
I was friends with a volunteer firefighter who saved a child about this age in a raging fire that took lives. It took days before they realized the sacrifice and joy of this one particular action.
I honestly need more completely good, and downright amazing stories in my life. It is a total tragedy, but someone saved/protected another's life. Things happen when they are bad you want people like this. Police, firefights, and paramedics do not get enough "thank you"s.
Today, After 841 Days Of Treatments, My Son Rang The Bell. He Is Now 100% Cancer-Free
Thats over 2 years of this childs life. I hate it when such stuff happens to children!
That's a beautiful bell ring of victory, because kiddo pinned cancer's shoulder to the mat for the 1... 2... 3...!!! Live happy, young man :-)
One of mynfriends has a 3 year old who was diagnosed 7 months (when he was 2) with cancer in his kidney. Itbhas since spread and he now has tumors in his brain, legs and a few other places. About 12 hours ago he was rushed again into hospital as a previous tumor on his shoulder looksblikebitbhas come back, or that it has spread to his bones. All Ibwant for Leo and his family is for him to ring that bell, but it is a very long road and mught not happen.
I will keep your friend, their son, and you all in my thoughts. Childhood cancer is a terrible thing. A very good friend of mine has had multiple types of cancer 3-4 times since she was a child and she keeps kicking its butt every time, she's in her 30s now!

She said to return it, that "anything else would be a downgrade" because of what this little dot means to her. So I am returning this $8k upgrade and I'm taking her to Korea and Japan this winter instead for the same price.
This should be at the top. The world needs more people who care more about the love than the price tag.
I think he does care abo the price tag if he bought her the ‘upgrade’
Load More Replies...I fully understand her. The first ring is the one which symbolizes all the memories and their unique moments of loving relationship. The second one is just a shiny piece of jewellery with no further meaning. Make many happy memories on your vacation!
Excellent trade IMO diamonds are just shiny overpriced rocks, but a trip to Asia will be a lifetime experience.
Load More Replies...This is more of a humblebrag than a wholesome post. To me anyway.
I find it cute but that may be just me
Load More Replies...I actually have a similar story with my fiance. I just gave him a random ring I had at home and didn't even know where it came from back in the day, as a symbolism so he knows I won't give him up despite all the issues and can always look at it when he feels bad. I've recently offered to buy him a better ring made of dinosaur bone (he likes dinos), but he declined because the random ring means more to him
Bless him for buying it, and bless her for refusing it. My eyes are suddenly blurred...
Making memories with $8000 instead of blowing it on meaningless stones is so much more better!!
I'd rather go on nice vacation than getting a big ring any day.
Similar situation for us - when we became engaged, we were both in college and there was very little money. He bought me a small solitaire engagement ring, and after 42 years of marriage, it's still the one I wear every day. He has 'threatened' over the years to buy me an upgrade, but don't want anything big and flashy. The ring I wore when I married him IS my wedding ring, and can't be replaced.
One important reason why we, as humans, love wholesome content is because it helps build and reinforce hope. Psychologists really can’t overstate just how crucial it is for us to feel like there is a chance the future will be better. Interestingly, researchers have also found a connection between hope and creativity.
After all, making something new means committing to the possibility that his unknown thing will turn out well. Positive thinking, which can be toxic in a few instances, ultimately helps keep our minds active and helps us maintain our desire to keep trying.
That Must Have Been Super Emotional
When I was younger my mom died in a fire. All the video and most photos were lost. Didn't think I would hear her voice again. Friend found a random video he took of my birthday and it had her talking a bit, was amazing. This was all before cellphones with cameras were around.
I am so sorry of your loss. I am really glad that you found the video ❤️. I hope it gives you comfort in difficult times. I lost my mother too when I was 19, and I would really love if there was a recording of her somewhere with her voice. If I try hard enough, I can still imagine it, but after nearly 20 years, it’s getting difficult.

After 10 Years Of Being Homeless, I Am Holding The Keys To My First Rented Property
🎉 Whoooo!! Great job! It's hard to get out of the dumps! But ya did it! Keep going! You're doing great!
Many years ago, I lived rough. I will never find the words to fully express my joy and the peace of security having a key to your own place brings. I wish this for all the homeless people to feel.
Fu!<ing rock and roll!! Getting your own key is just the best, upward and onwards my friend!!!
One important part of hope isn't just “teaching” us about the possibility that good things can happen, it’s reminding us that they have happened. Unfortunately, our brains can be a bit selective with what they remember, leading to us “conveniently” forgetting the good things we’ve gone through and just focusing on the bad.
These Are The Headlines We Love To See
My 8-Month-Old Daughter Woke Up Smiling After Her Brain Surgery
From OP on Reddit: "She was born with an abnormality in her brain that caused her to have up to 80 seizures a day before they found the right meds or up to 20 a day with strong meds. The best course of action was to remove the abnormality that was causing these. We’ve waited months and been so worried and stressed but everything went well and she’s proven everyone just how strong she really is. - They managed to remove exactly what they needed to and have checked with multiple MRIs. - She is on a lot of pain relief but hasn’t had a single seizure since her surgery. This is the first time in months she has been seizure free for even a day!"

I have a friend who got into a terrible car accident a couple years ago on her 16th birthday. Medical professionals use a scale from 1-5 to describe going unconscious from a head injury. My friend went a 5, which equals if you’re lucky enough to survive you’re going to be a vegetable for the rest of your life. She woke up after two weeks! Two years later, I celebrated her 18th birthday with her a couple weeks ago and she is head injury free after a miraculous recovery! God is good! God bless those doctors!
UPS Driver's Animal Encounters On Their Route
Only naughty goats that can't stop headbutting people have to wear the balls of shame! :) Or the noodles of shame - some goat owners use cut up pool noodles.
Load More Replies...My dog loves to see the UPS truck come. He runs outside and hops in like he is ready to go on an adventure. I have to get the biscuits out to get him out of the truck. He does not do this for any other vehicles including my own.
Of course not, UPS trucks are the only ones where he's chased with biscuits to get OUT of it! 😂🥰
Load More Replies...It is important to remember that hope can be problematic in large “doses” as some people, overwhelmed by positive emotions, can start to develop unrealistic goals and expectations, which will just come to harm them in the long run. This is why real stories are important, but they need to be “tempered” with the help of a specialist, like a therapist, if a person is really going through a depressive spell.
It's Been Nearly 4 Years Since I Was Diagnosed With Stage IV Cancer. As Of February 22nd of 2023, I'm Cancer-Free

With depression even a few seconds of cheer counts. Great idea. You've given me a few. Thank you, and good luck.
"You are never alone with a rubber duck." (Doulas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guid to the Galaxy)
Got to admit, I keep waiting for a tracking tag small enough to keep in my daily dosette box (because I put it down and forget where, or forget to take it with me when I go out). But knowing me, I'd swallow the dratted thing, and spend the next few days with the delightful job of trying to retrieve it. Absolutely the same with this otherwise delightful ducky

One of the comments posted on Reddit by guardiandolphin says "I knew a woman who had breast cancer and when they removed her breast she started going around shirtless cause “ain’t nothing there to gawk at” lmao"
Load More Replies...Researchers have also established a pretty strong connection between hope and not just mental health, but physical as well. People dealing with recovery after injury and illness tend to always do better if they demonstrate or report feelings of hope, versus feelings of intermittent sadness. So when you are looking at a list of wholesome images, perhaps bookmark it for a rainy day, it could actually help.
My Sister Saved Three Squirrels From The Hurricane And Named Them Alvin, Simon And Theodore

The Lengths Moms Go To For Their Children
Can someone tell me WTF was the country where the literal hospital just steals away the babies with disabilities from their mothers like some modern Sparta and gives them away?
Misdiagnoses that ended in institutional living, made by arrogant doctors who dared you to disagree with their expert opinion, was more common than most know. But considering that up until 19999, these "experts" thought babies under age one didn't feel pain, I think more patients should question their opinions.
My parent did something similar. After the birth, I was placed in a hospital for terminally ill newborns, where "they waiting to die". My parents visited me every weekend and when they saw I was getting better, after 9 months they took me home. I realize that it was hard for them, but they taught me how to be independent very early and I did naturally without any issues.
My Dad Spent Over 20 Minutes Writing This Graduation Note For Me. Writing Is Extremely Difficult For Him But He Still Managed To Write This On My Card. I’m Keeping This Forever
He was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2009 and has had 3 brain surgeries and a lot of radiation.
I have a few bits of my dad's writing from after his accident. His brain damage was catastrophic, but for the first few years after he came out of his coma, he could still write a word or two. He had multiple strokes after that, and died 21 years after his accident. I lost "my dad" on the day of his accident, but I treasure each bit I have left of him from before - and after - his accident.
He sounds like a wonderful man. He clearly raised an amazing daughter, because your comments always bring me so much joy and information, and you are always respectful. May he rest in peace.

Isn't Chad usually a negative connotation? I fail to see the negativity here. Not a native English speaker, I am trying to understand.
I think they were saying it as if the couple were standing there saying it. lol that's how I took it at least. Not that they were calling him a gigachad

Teacher Of The Year
I think there was just rare, my old school hard-a$$ math teacher took extra time to teach his detention kids long division and chess. I don't think I would have graduated HS If he didn't take his time and explain basic math to me. This was 4th grade thank you Mr. Hamrin

As a teacher, I always allowed students in middle school to rewrite an assignment and get the higher grade if they wanted. It's about learning, not an "I gotcha" moment. I said before I handed out any assignment that was graded.
When I was in grade 5, I could not fraction fractions. Kept the workbook. One night, in grade 8, the penny dropped. Did what was left of the book in 2 nights, after homework, etc. More than half the book wasn't done. Had my mother check it. 100%. Sometimes a brain just isn't ready for the info or it needs to be explained differently. Kudos to this teacher. I wish mine had been like this.

If I had the choice between going to Disney or NASA, it'd be NASA, hands down.
I really want to be an astronaut. Idk if I can do it but this story makes me happy. Just wish she could actually be an astronaut.
I'm not loving the "instead." "In addition" would be awesome. "Instead" means he disappointed the kids to make mom happy. Which I don't love.
Kids probably were happy too to 1) see mom so happy and 2) go to NASA and see a rocket launch and eat lunch with an astronaut. I like Disney but I would’ve LOVED such an experience at any age, including now as an adult and even more as a kid.

FYI regarding cats capturing, but not killing, smaller animals. Don't simply release them if there's a chance of a tooth or claw puncture because you'll be condemning the poor thing to a hideous infection and death. Any scratches/punctures need to be cleaned and watched before releasing.

Good on you! They can be uncomfortable, but I've never regretted getting mine done!
This breaks my heart. No child, or parents, should be put in a place where they have to choose between vital dental care & food, gas, etc!
Sadly it's not all ways about money. I had braces and when they took them off I had a hole develope on a front canine. My adoptive female parent was pissed so left it for over 2 years. I finally was able to fix it once I moved out at 17. Abuse sucks
Load More Replies...Hell yeah!! My teeth were jacked, and we were beyond poor. My photography teacher asked my mom if it would be too embarrassing to offer me dental care. Eight teeth removed, and two years of braces. I have never missed an opportunity to smile, since. Greatest gift I've ever received. You've got this. Licking your teeth when those cages come off is the best feeling ever.
Good for OP! We were too poor for dental care when I was a kid too. My ex-husband and I made enough money for me to get braces, but he said it was silly to spend that much money on someone my age (I'm in my 50s). When I left him, I added the cost of Invisalign to the amount I requested as a settlement. I'm SO happy with how my teeth look now! I don't hate to smile for photos anymore.
I had mine done when I was 19 years old and also had my four wisdom teeth pulled.
Honestly, I HATE that orthodontics are only covered by dental insurance in the US until someone is a teen, when a lot of people who had braces as children have to have them again as adults because impacted wisdom teeth can completely wreck all that work. My sister had to have braces 3 times in her life, twice as a child and finally as an adult after wisdom teeth surgery,. They realigned her bite and it changed her whole face for the better! I had braces just on my bottom teeth, but may as well not have because my wisdom teeth pushed them back!

"And she hopped right in!" that was the last photo in the little self published book, and the box had the toy kitty and the book in it. I'm told he asked mom, "Did the kitty write this or did grandma?" Lol
Cute but what age is your daughter that she has a phone and is devastated about not having a stuffed animal at school
She's probably a toddler/preschooler at home with mom, getting photos on Mom's phone.

It's the simple little acts of kindness and compassion, when you think no one can see, that shows true character
Hey I didn’t even notice that 😂 I guess the bathroom needs a lunch break too?

Lol. I ALWAYS crawl in with my adult son for a few minutes unbeknownst to him when he visits. He said I am weird therefore I find this reassuring.
An uncle of mine had a cat who loved to sleep on his stretched arm, all night long. His wife made him a wool sleeve so he did not feel cold during the winter. He did not dare to move!
In my family, this is what grown kids do. The come home to parents, full of intention of talking, or helping cook, or watching movies, or playing a game. Then they melt into the abyss of parent's house and fall asleep somewhere for hours, undisturbed by house sounds, and wake covered in family pets.
