So in order to thank them for making us happy, we at Bored Panda have put together a new collection of wholesome dog posts. My dog is a lab-pit mix whose big head kind of gives him away. When we moved to Canada, the vet hinted strongly to my parents not to mention the pitt part of our dog becuase they had such a bad name. The dude is so gentle he can eat off a plastic spoon without breaking it. A delightful ANGEL.

Marissa Sunny, CPDT-KA and senior dog lifesaving specialist at Best Friends Animal Society, told Bored Panda that "dogs typically see their owners as family and their best friends! They grow extremely attached to people in their lives and will remember them even years later."
If you end up on a dog's good person list, it will definitely show you; dogs typically express affection by soliciting attention, "giving kisses", and actively trying to spend time with you," Sunny explained.

For example, a comprehensive review of studies published between 1950 and 2019 discovered that dog owners had a lower risk of death—studies suggest that dog owners have lower blood pressure levels and improved responses to stress.
Interestingly, people who had experienced previous coronary events had an even higher level of risk reduction for death.

When I was younger I was deathly allergic to the touch of cats but one day I saw a cat out. So I put on some dish washing gloves and got my friend and I held it and we went door to door for a owner then we found a old lady who owned the cat and she started crying cause I didn't know at the time that I risked my life alone just so a cat wouldn't be on the streets and she invited me in and we had tea. It was very nice.

Their dog hasn’t eaten well since they brought their baby home - dog kept taking food into the living room and leaving it there. Someone suggested the dog might be worried the baby isn’t visibly eating, so is “feeding” the baby. They tried giving the baby a bowl of food at the same time. It worked!

This one reminds me of the saddest dog story I ever watched. This guy took his dog to the ocean every day because the dog's arthritis was so bad, the only way the dog could sleep was when it was floating in water. So he held his dog in the ocean for hours every day so his best friend could sleep.

Visit in-laws in Hilton Head one summer and we went to a public outdoor folk concert. Some lady in the crowd was friends with the lead singer. The lady was awful and a dog in the crowd let her know by howling right along with her. They were both drowned out my my fil’s booming laughter.

My dachshund, Sammy was like that too. He gained 5 pounds (12 to 17 - too much) so along with walks, we put him on the treadmill haha he actually loved it! He lost the weight in a healthy manner and we tweaked how and what we fed him, and got him back down to 12 and he was looking so good! He was such a handsome guy! Man do I miss him. RIP Beast 🖤

A German Shepherd Called Capitán Has Slept Next To The Grave Of His Owner Every Night At 6pm For 6 Years (2006-2012)
His owner, Miguel Guzmán died in 2006. Capitán, the dog, disappeared while the family attended the fueral services. A week later reatives of Guzmán were visiting the cemetery when they were astounded to find the dog next to the owner's grave.
The cemetery director says that the dog comes around each night at 6pm, and has done so for the past 6 years!

Ahhh, this is heartbreaking. This reminds me of Greyfrairs Bobby, a Skye Terrier, who refused to leave his master's grave for around fourteen years. His master is buried in Greyfrairs Kirk in Edinburgh, Scotland and people often leave little dog toys on the grave in honour of little Bobby. There is also a sweet statue of Bobby close to the graveyard and right outside of a pub of the same name. So many tourists and visitors have touched the nose on the Bobby statue that it has worn to burnished gold colour.

Pupper had a big exciting day. In my area, the local beach resort sponsors a yearly dog walk on the boardwalk in the spring, before the season when dogs aren’t allowed on the boardwalk and beach. The proceeds fund the local no-kill shelter. Volunteers are put on waiting lists, and are matched with dogs when they arrive to drive them to the site. The boardwalk is 2.25 miles long, so round trip is 4.5 miles. I’ve walked dogs who make the full round trip with no problem, and some who didn’t—-plus one I had to carry. The shelter says that’s the quietest night of the year, because all the dogs come back totally exhausted after their big day. Not to mention they get loads of adoption applications.

Aww I used to have a Great Dane/Lab mix that loved to cuddle in my lap. As he got older and way bigger he would keep trying, often resting his front paws sideways over my lap!

I love Rotties! My brother had one who should have been the ambassador for the breed. Sweetest dog ever, and people always shied away from hm. He had some serious medical problems and had to be put down. One of the few times I ever saw my 6'4" brother cry.

I fell out of my wheelchair in the disabled toilets of a kitty cafe. One of the cats wouldn't leave my side, even when I was being seen by paramedics. We tried to adopt him but someone had got there before us and were collecting him the next day. Now at home when I'm having a bad day sickness/ pain wise my cats all can tell and snuggle up to me. Animals are amazing

I work with a lady who has a support dog like this - she carries her bag, fetches things, opens tricky doors/does lift buttons and at home she loads the washing machine, gets pans out does absolutely allsorts, she is invaluable! She has even been known to transport important documents to our neighbouring office... Though we had to put a stop to that because they tried to steal her adorable little self 😂❤️

I used to deliver maul afoot for the Postal Service. We were forbidden to pet dogs but the animals were the absolute highlight of the job. I couldn't have made it through without them to look forward to.

Oh God, that doggie look EXACTLY like Ben, a mutt that I got for 8th birthday! Even the white hairs are exactly the same. He lived for 17 years, in the end was almost deaf, had only one eye (with a pretty bad eyesight, to be honest) but still he was the fiercest little big dog ever. This is unbelieavable...

I had a cat, Lucy, who fell in love with a stuffed duck toy when she was a tiny kitten. Lucy loved Duckster her whole life, starting when he was twice her size to when he was half her size. Duckster had multiple surgeries; stuffing put back in, seams sewn, embroidered eyes replaced, etc. He also somehow ended up swimming in the water bowl several times—-in winter he’d dry himself off on the radiator—-and quite often managed to jump into the laundry basket and be washed and dried. When Lucy died, We buried her with Duckster in her arms, so she could keep him with her always.

It breaks my heart that so many people must live on the streets having no decent housing. India has nuclear weapons, yet this weird civilization and government has no humanity in them. How can a civilization in the 21st century can continue to so called untouchables slaves and have nuclear weapons, yet is unable to provide Covid 19 vaccines for all? So many occidental companies have their merchandise made in India, but no of the benefits from worldwide trading are shared with the workers. The cast system is only a way to always have slaves for the ones on top of the pyramid. The ones who work the most are the poorest. This horrible government must change.

Dogs do not belong in the luggage compartment. They can sometimes get missed being put on the plane and get lost and if the pressures aren't correct in the compartment it can burst their eardrums. That is extremely painful and there they are in a crate all by themselves in so much pain.

Such a sweet dog, I had a dog hat was part Terrier, I named him Danny, my personal thought, Terriers are very intelligent, I wasn't into teaching him tricks, but he did some cute things, on his own, when I went out, he would stand in the window, I would wave to him, he waved back !!!

This is a picture of my dog Shilo (the Border Collie) Rua the brown dog and Toby the white dog. Rua and Toby belong to my neighbours but all three are the best of friends and always have great fun running around and playing with each other despite Shilo being nearly twice the height of them. In fact one of their favourite games is that Rua and Toby will chase each other and run underneath Shilo when chasing each other while Shilo just stands there laughing at them.
