Comics For People With A Slightly Weird Sense Of Humor By Artist Aidee Sea (40 Pics)
Interview With ArtistWe always love to see new and up-and-coming artists with an original sense of humor. Since we know our readers share the same passion, today we would like to present you with After Death Comics, making its debut on Bored Panda. The creative adventure started for Aidee Sea by reading Archie comics. Eventually, this affection led to the discovery of the whole world of webcomics. Inspired by this unlimited freedom, Aidee started a journey of regular comic creation, aiming for at least one comic per week.

I like it but it would have been better if the 'SOS' was clearer in the first picture. I didn't see it until the end.
Bored Panda reached out to Aidee Sea to ask a couple of questions regarding the After Death Comics series. First, we ask how comics came into Sea’s life. We found out that: “My cousins were huge fans of Archie comics, so that was my first introduction into comics. I grew up borrowing any and every comic I could from the library, and begging my parents to buy me that new double digest of Archie comics at the grocery store. I always thought eventually I’d find out who Archie picks between the two girls.”
Same here. However, one of the earlier versions of this story had the bears simply described by their sizes, big, medium and small. They all appeared to be male and unrelated. Also, instead of Goldilocks, a rude old lady broke into their home.

Next, we wanted to know more about the initial inspiration to start creating the series. Aidee told us: “I was looking for a new creative outlet in my life and just started reading comics on Reddit. It never really struck me that ANYONE could just post their comics online and that anyone could be me.”
I’m sorry, you were instead reincarnated as a glow worm. My condolences.

Asked about how often the new strips are released, Sea answered: “At least one a week is what I'd like to say. I initially started with doing about one comic a day, then to once every three days… I have a lot more half-drawn comics or ideas that never get finished.”
He's deep faking his dad being loving cuz dads a d**k in real life
Load More Replies...We also were curious how Aidee feels having so many people following After Death Comics and having so much fun reading the new pieces. Sea revealed: “It feels great to have my work validated. I have this insistent need to express my weird ideas to people. The idea that my comic can be a part of someone’s day is wonderful. It’s a lot more effective than following people and whispering into their ears all day.”
I feel this. My Mother had the most amazing collection of VHS tapes - good movies, home-made family films, classics of cinema, all expensive and carefully kept. For years. And then she died, so sad. Even more sad when her 'life' collection ended up being 'old stuff', aka trash. I have to remember that the work she did made her happy.

Asked about an artistic background and the very beginning of Sea’s interest in drawing, we learned that: “I, like many kids, drew at some point for fun. I did it on and off throughout my life but I didn't really sit down and actually improve my drawing until about 3 years ago. I’ve always had a need to artistically express myself and found many different outlets throughout my life. It just happens that comics is the form I’m stuck on now.”
Yes, I like to be able to afford a slice of bread for dinner instead just water
Please! I can change! (They always say that but they never mean it).
Aidee continued: “I took no formal art courses outside of what grade school has taught me. I don't have the attention span to watch long videos on drawing tutorials, so I 'watched' a lot of them. I did study literature in university, and one of the courses had a section on deconstructing picture books (I know it sounds dumb but there's a logic behind it). It introduced me to how to tell a story with no words, which is really helpful.”
Finally, Sea turned to our readers: “I always have open slots for more interns. My horror comics around October always could use extra hands.”

In reality, you should wish for #2 first, then anything else you want, and then wish for #3 and then finally #1. Smarter that way. (But again, this isn’t reality)
The ironic twist to your second wish, is that it only applies to your wishes! Ha!

Load More Replies...I have a kind of perversely opposite side to me that just loves rebellious types. When it kicks in, it makes me really want to say/do stuff to shock people who really deserve to be shocked. The impulse is there, but luckily I have good impulse control, especially in situations where it would be detrimental to me if I acted on it. That exact “anti” kind of impulse would make me really love Charlie just that much more, and make him my #1 favorite kid—-because, of course everyone loves people who are easy to love. But loving someone who isn’t easy to love, maybe being the only one who does, can often be the one thing that keeps those people from hurtling themselves over the edge. Knowing 100% for certain that at least one person loves you unconditionally can be the steady rock, the touchstone, the one constant you can rely on, to keep you from behaving self-destructively.

I play a lot of video games but rarely online versions as I don’t have PS Plus as it’s too expensive. Is that what you meant or video games in general?

Therefore you’re even, and you are NOT obligated to get them anything in return. Even if they got you a gift for no reason, it’s really for a reason that’s not tied to one thing or one act, it’s an intangible thing about you that they adore. Then there’s that rush you get when you give something to someone who could really use it. A gift you thought long and hard about, after studying what the other person likes or needs. Sometimes the greatest return for giving someone a gift is the happy look on their face when they open your gift and see the one thing they really wanted or needed inside. No need for them to reciprocate and give you anything. You already got your gift.
"Any sad you can be, I can be sadder, I can always be sadder than you!"
I hate how relevant that is. I'm a fanartist as a hobby. I went to artschool, worked more than 30 years on perfecting my art. The last few months I got message over message from different platforms that my art was used to train an artbot. An artbot that now not just paints in our style it also even sometimes generates with our watermarks and signatures. So yeah... It's really heartbreaking
