For a long time there was an international rule how "short" the women's pants had to be in beach volleyball. Seriously, they were not allowed to wear anything longer than bikini bottoms. It was a rule violation.
It was beach handball, that is not an Olympic sport, and the rules were amended in 2021 to allow shorts. Current beach volleyball rules [FIVB Olympic rules, appendix 1-10] states only that 1) men must wear tank top and shorts 2) women must wear either of these, *as they choose*: top + briefs; one piece; half sleeve top + knee length pants; no sleeve top + shorts (same as men's); Long sleeve top + long pants (cold climate or religious reasons); Long sleeve top + briefs. The only other relevant rule is that "Athletes on the same team must wear identical uniforms (style, fabric and colour)."; the rest is just a bunch of technicalities on fabric, logo positioning and design guidelines etc

I'll probably get downvoted for pointing out the truth, but the sad reality is women's sports rarely get watched unless the female players are sexualized. As a general demographic, women watch sports FAR less than men, and men don't want to watch women's sports unless they show skin. Women's leagues make the uniforms skimpy so they can get viewership and thus attract advertising dollars. If we want to change this, we have to 1) Actually watch women's sports (especially you ladies), and 2) Write to broadcasters and their advertisers saying we don't appreciate the sexualization and want them to wear proper uniforms.
Same with ladies' running events. I wore the boy's uniform to a track meet once. I was disqualified by the same teacher who harassed me about my skirt being 2 inches above my knees. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. The double standard is disgusting! Kick out all the old men who think this is acceptable; get intelligent people in charge.

I challenged something similar when I was at school ( aged about 12 I think ) for physical education ( pe in the uk 1990s) The boys had shorts atm t shirts but the girls had knickers and t shirt. We had skirts for outside games but inside we HAD to remove our skirts and just wear our pe knickers, which I hated because of the exposure, when I challenged the teachers they couldn't give a valid reason for it so I wore my skirt

I had a pink polo... granted I mostly bought it for Breast Cancer Awareness month. F**k cancer. But I wore it on a regular at work because I liked it. This manly man I worked with asked me if my shirt was salmon because there was no way he would wear it. I said: "No. It's pink, I'm not afraid of a color." I almost bought a pink tablet, but they didn't have the specs I wanted so I have rose gold. My laptop is purple... and when I was picking out a wheelchair, I thought about maroon and my wife thought green. She then said "You know you're going to choose purple, so just get it." She was right.
Would of been nice as a boy to of learned how to cook and sew in school. Instead of just being sent out into the world to figure it out because "boys don't need any support."
I took "Home ec" classes when i was in high school. One of the few boys in those classes but I hated shop class

I find the concept of gender to be funny. My whole life I've looked somewhere between male or female. I'm not feminine looking at all despite being born female. I'm definitely not masculine either. I'm an in-between I suppose. Call me whatever you wish. You ain't hurting my feelings. I also wasn't brought up with a "this is for girls or this is for boys." My mom let me live how I wished and I thank her for that.

I think one is missing. Tell me why there is a men's and women's world chess championships? Why not just one world championship? And to top it off they declare that trans cannot compete in the woman's world championships. And after there is a backlash from that statement they have gone off to "reconsider". One can certainly argue that certain trans individuals might have physical advantages over woman, but chess? How do you come with these separations without the belief that woman are inferior mentally? Why don't people challenge that very idea?
