Oh, man... I am losing it right now. I would absolutely give my life to save my daughters. I didn't even know that I was capable of such a pure form of love.
Load More Replies...I was born with Neurofibromatosis(specifically type one) which is a genetic disorder.. My grandpa who was not my Biological grandpa died in April 2016 and when I read the program from his funeral I burst into tears. It said in lieu of flowers to please donate to The Children's Tumor Foundation in his memory. My grandpa loved me so deeply and dearly and I knew that but I hadn't seen him in a few years due to me developing such severe fatigue that I no longer attend family functions. When I read that part in the program it felt like him telling me "I love you" one final time. I knew he saw me as who I was and not Neurofibromatosis but yet he still had my back 100% he wanted me to be free of my pain and the chains of Neurofibromatosis. That one little blurb in his funeral program showed me that. I honestly had no idea just how much he loved me and supported me and I will never know but this showed me that his love for me was infinite. He was a wonderful grandfather.
I hope you are alright and can lead a good life. All the best for you
Load More Replies...Awwww... I have a friend whose mom was pregnant with her and got diagnosed with cancer. She chose not having treatment over having her. She passed when she was a newborn, and I told her that as a mom myself, I would've made the same decision. I'm going to send her this... it's so completely accurate. annnnd.....damned onions!!!
While many of us experience wholesome moments in our every day lives, we often don’t think to share them online. Maybe we smile to ourselves in the moment and tell our roommates when we get home, but it’s easy for the joy of an unexpected sweet moment to be fleeting. “Ah, that was nice,” we think. Then two minutes later we're back to being stressed and yelling at other drivers while stuck in traffic. But making an effort to actually share the good things that happen to us can help elongate the joyful feelings and spread them along to others.
Aside from the initial warm feeling we get from reading uplifting stories, consuming positive news can actually be good for our health. According to child psychiatrist Dr. Jonathan Nehrer, the simple act of smiling can lead to more positive thinking and act as a coping mechanism for whatever issues we’re battling at the moment.
"People were clowning this man because he had a pizza and flowers for his lady, riding on the subway. Calling him lame because he couldn’t afford something better... Half of you dudes wouldn’t even go this far for your lady, effort is way more valuable than the price of material things. Salute to him, and | bet you he has a very happy woman at home"
You come to my door with flowers & a pizza instead of a night out at a loud a$$ club or a fancy schmancy restaurant & you’re a keeper.
God yes. Food and good company, nothing better
Load More Replies...Wth? Pizza and flowers is the cutest idea I’ve ever heard of. What a lucky S.O he’s got
I don't believe this for a second. Not sure what subway this is but I lived in NY for 5 years. People carry everything on the subway. No one would blink an eye.
Maybe they posted it somewhere and ppl on *the internet* made fun of him
Load More Replies...I like the simple things and would absolutely love it if my hubby surprised me with flowers and pizza.
I had ONE guy in my life of 42 years get me REAL flowers. I'd be married to him if he hadn't passed away.
I'm at the point in my relationship that a bag of Reese's pieces and some pads means a lot more and makes my girlfriend happier than flowers or jewelry hahaha.
While many of us know the negative effects of consuming too much disheartening media and getting stuck in the cycle of “doomscrolling”, we can easily shift our mindsets into more positive places by consuming happier content. In fact, mainstream media outlets are getting on board with the desire for positivity by introducing “good news” sections. These can be found on the Daily Mirror, Today, the Huffington Post, The Washington Post, the BBC and more. Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, author of Happier, told The Washington Post, “While I don’t recommend burying our heads in the sand and ignoring what is going on around us, we should certainly limit our consumption of bad news and expose ourselves to uplifting content.”
I mean sure, but also we create a welfare system where no one has to live on $20 for the whole month. She's 92. She shouldn't need charity.
Load More Replies...That is lovely but a bit sad. What happens to Edith for the rest of the months with only $20?
If she had to manage with 20$ for some time already, she probably stretched the 600$ she got at least into 12 months, if not longer. Or she could afford something she needed now. Like... a washing machine, or a stove. There is always something. Maybe she just saved it for worse days.
Load More Replies...I was at a grocery store around Xmas time, it was late, I took out 200$ to add for my rent, I put it in my small purse, as I walked out I fumbled for my keys in my purse as it was very cold, when I got home, I couldn’t find the $, looked everywhere, even back in the car, nothing, the next day I called the market and told the manager what happened, if anyone turned cash in from the parking lot, she said since it’s cash it’s probably gone, told her I just had my fingers crossed that a Good Samaritan turned it in, I was bummed out for weeks, that was part of my rent $ that I worked hard for, but something in my head kept telling me it was ment to be, maybe someone else was having it worse was really needing that for the holidays
Ok...I like the story and the generous gesture of the post but.....why can't people just do something nice without having to tell everyone? Kinda loses points for me
I once found a wallet in a shopping cart around Christmas. It had over $1000 in it..I looked through the wallet and found several business cards that were the same so I called the number and asked if they lost their wallet. I told them I'd meet them in front. she came running up sobbing because that was the cash she had taken out to buy her whole family Christmas gifts. She wanted to reward me and I said absolutely not, and I would just take the good Karma. When I was leaving to go home, a car ran the red light and almost smashed into me but I was able to react and it just missed me. I saw that as my payback.
Aw, so sweet. I have a story as well, a girl shared how when her cat was sick and not eating she cried, because she thought her kitty would die. The cat ate a little bit and when her human cheered up she ate some more, to make her happy. The cat lived and since then every time the girl cries the cat brings a bit of her food and eats in front of her, to cheer her up.
When I was pregnant with my first, we had two German Shepherds. The male would stick close to me to keep people away, while the female would keep circling to keep other dogs away. Once I gave birth, they transferred that protective instinct to my daughter. They were the Best Good Dogs Ever.
This is the sentence I say most in my life, - "we don't deserve dogs."
The Washington Post even features an experiment on their website where readers can turn on their computers’ cameras and watch a series of “positive and neutral videos” while the camera tracks their facial expressions. They call it the “joy-o-meter” and its goal is to measure viewers’ happiness through emotional recognition technology. “For the positive videos, the average viewer expressed happiness throughout 39% of the video,” the website states. And in one video featuring a “camera-ready dog, participants smiled throughout 80% of the video”. You can try the joy-o-meter for yourself right here if you’re interested.
And this is when I realized that I wont be able to finish this post. Stupid onions...
If a smile could ever convey the true meaning of love, her's does!
That's so much kinder than hauling a sick, old, tired dog around for "their" bucket list.
Does anyone actually do that, though? A lot of people get rid of elderly dogs, sadly. And not everyone can afford a pool. Making their last years good ones should be a thing anyone is allowed to do, regardless of how much money they have, especially due to the rate of abandonment of senior dogs since they're no longer seen as "desireable" when they age. My first dog stayed with us since we rescued him at three from an abusive owner, and we kept him until he was sixteen years old. He passed a few days after his birthday (he had heart problems). He didn't have a pool, but he sure was happy, spending his final days with us, being spoiled with attention. Heck, the day he died, our uncle was here, and those two ADORE each other haha. I'm sure he was happy, too. Anyways, point is, I dont think its wrong for someone to adopt a senior dog. Part of me wants to make a senior dog sanctuary in the future, a place for ones whose owners don't want/can't take care of anymore to live out the rest of their days loved and well cared for.
Load More Replies...In terms of what makes people smile the most, the joy-o-meter found that pet videos yielded the most positive reactions. But light-hearted memes and sweet videos aren’t the only resources online that can be beneficial. Exposure to constructive journalism can also be helpful for inspiring readers, compared to most news which tends to discourage audiences. Jodie Jackson, author of You Are What You Read, told The Washington Post that constructive journalism “makes us feel more empowered because it gives us three key psychological ingredients: optimism, hope and self-advocacy”. “It helps build resilience,” she went on to say.
That's sweet. My cat and I can both see, but in the dark I can't see and my cat can. He doesn't warn me.

Load More Replies...If you’re looking for a book to read to help convince you of the impacts positive media can have on your life, I recommend checking out The Power of Good News: Feeding Your Mind with What’s Good for Your Heart by Hal Urban. The book likens how we nourish our minds to how we nourish our bodies:
“Urban explains why, due to neuroscience as much as economics, the media—left, right, and center—focuses mostly on negative stories. And he describes the psychological toll this takes on our mental health. But he’s not suggesting we ignore these stories, just that we vary our diets…We can find countless signs of progress and acts of kindness all around the world if we know where to look. And there are positive aspects in our own lives—family, friends, beauty, generosity, and progress—that we take for granted. Offering techniques he road tested as a teacher for thirty-six years, Urban helps readers become a conscious consumer of information, balancing sources like food groups.”
I was told by a dog trainer that some dogs take your socks or shoes because they smell like you. For them this is the most valuable thing in the world, so it must be valuable for you as well. :-)
I wonder if this is why my dog will steal my slippers but instead of chewing on them he hides them in his bed. If I can't find one of my slippers all I have to do is shake out his blankets and there they are
Load More Replies...I give my dog treats and sometimes she stashes them for later. Every day that I go to work, when I come home, I find her excitedly waiting at the door, and a few of those stashed treats I gave her, are now sitting on the entry mat. I THINK she thinks that leaving her treats at the door like that will make me come home
I have a cat that does this but she brings me her toys. Pets are the epitome of unconditional love.
Dirty socks are so thoughtful. Especially if his "collection" includes a match for each of the socks he carefully harvests.
When I was pregnant the first time, our German Shepherds would come sit by me when I was morning sick and lick my face after I was done.
My pupper does this but with his favorite toy: Mr. Bill. I came home after wrist surgery and wake up on the couch with Mr Bill tucked in beside me. And whenever I'm sick there's Mr Bill. Good boy, Munchie
I had two dogs. A chihuahua who was my absolute fur baby and a hyper, very naughty, non affectionate fox terrier that my son left behind after leaving home. I tolerated him, fed him walked him, tried to train him etc. My chihuahua died. I was devistated and couldn't stop crying. That little foxie crawled up on my lap, lay down and stayed there for hours. I love him and I still have him, he is 15 now!
And they look so incredibly happy!! I want this one day 😊
Load More Replies...Now I don't understand, this is just nice photo of people in love :))))
Likely commenting on how people with any kind of disorder are often infantalized and called "cute" because of the disorder. Transmen deal with the same issue, sadly (hence why I understood it was referring to infantalization with the quote).

No idea why you kept it? 14 year old you did a beautiful job, you made a beautiful thing, certainly worth keeping for its own sake. Now it just has a new purpose.
Sentimental items you keep, now I’m sure he’ll keep that for his own children
You must’ve subconsciously known that it was going to be for your own future child, so that’s why you held on to it all those years.
You knew you made it for your child, even at 14. I’m so glad you were able to become a father. You seem like a good one.
I try to teach my 6 year old and 9 year old that it's the little things that we should cherish the most.... so happy for you to be able to realize and cherish why your inner being had you keep that wood work project!
While the internet is an amazing resource for just about everything, when we’re looking to boost our feel-good hormones in ways that don’t involve screens, Henry Ford Health has got us covered. First, let’s break down the four key "happiness-boosting hormones”: dopamine, serotonin, endorphins and oxytocin. Dopamine is the “happy hormone”, which provides the high feeling we get from falling in love, being praised for a job well done, and countless other pleasurable experiences. Serotonin, aka the “feel-good hormone” is needed to ward off anxiety and depression. Easy ways to boost serotonin are getting a good night’s sleep or enjoying the great outdoors. Endorphins are famous for providing that great feeling we experience after working out, and they act as a natural painkiller. Lastly, oxytocin, or the “love hormone”, is known for creating bonding and attachment and spikes when we experience intimate touches like cuddling or kissing.
And the "You did so good!" I know they told them

In case anyone is wondering, those are mudskippers. They can survive in water and on land. Quite interesting if you want to look it up.
Thank-you for the info....no seriously no sarcasm, I was actually wondering what they are so you saved me a Google. 🙂

Yeah I didn't know they had alcohol issues either. I'm glad they shared, there's so much shame about it
Load More Replies...I feel like this needs to be a normalized thing. When you make a reservation there should be a non alcoholic option for those that aren't looking to be around alcohol. Yes it's a little extra work on the staff, but this would be wonderful. And it's easy to say oh just don't open it but if you're struggling it can get the better of you.
Seriously! Because even a non alcoholic could be tempted...or someone depressed...or teenagers with their folks.

I love signs like this :) My mom died and I was flying to visit family. I hate flying and when I went to buy snacks in the shop in the airport, one of those Coca Colas with names on them was sitting on the counter. It was "Shirley". That was her name, and not a very common one anymore.
She wanted you to know she was watching over you and the flight would be okay ❤️

There are plenty of easy ways to get a spike in these hormones, including exercising, going for a hike or swimming in nature, and experimenting with aromatherapy. If you’re looking for more relaxing options, try taking a nap, getting a massage, meditating or listening to music you really love. As Dr. Farvah Fatima of Henry Ford Health shares, “There's no right way to boost any of these feel-good hormones. Instead, the key is to tune into your body and notice how different activities make you feel, both in the moment and in the hours afterward.”
When my friends bring up the whole I don't like small dogs thing I'll show them this 😂
Good for you!! Too often people don't bother to train small dogs very well, because they are less dangerous than a bigger, stronger dog can be (so consider it less necessary). So people see them as yappy and bitey and unpleasant. Trained properly they are a delight! I have small and medium dogs and I train them! They are not yappy or badly behaved. Well, one is traumatised and a bit difficult but he loves people, the daft thing!
Load More Replies...No words can adequately describe how CUTE that pupper looks!!! Bravo, person who hair styled that fur baby!!!!
My wife does the same! She maintains her fluency in "Spanglish" (she hails from Jalisco). When she sings English language songs and can't pronounce or doesn't know a word, she will seamlessly insert a phonetic equivalent without missing a beat! I love when she sings. I will never say a word to her.
Aww that's really lovely. I'm married to an African who's first language isn't English. He says the funniest things like for eggs he calls them chickens children and for toes it's finger legs. I love it and love him for trying.

I wish someone loved me this much to sing in the other room or next to me and not give a damn how they sound. That's my hope. 🥰😍
During recent years, largely due to the pandemic, many of us have become acutely aware of how constant exposure to bad news can negatively impact our mental health. However, one famous actor realized this issue and decided to use his massive platform to spread some positivity. On March 29th, 2020, John Krasinski, famous for playing the role of Jim on The Office, launched a web series called Some Good News. The premise of the series was “a news show dedicated entirely to good news”, and it featured Krasinski at home during the pandemic, inviting various celebrity guests to join in on the conversations.

I’m five foot tall and people have very kindly done this to me a couple of times. It’s a small gesture but so appreciated.
One time I was sitting next to a very short girl at a play, and a tall person sat in front of her, I asked her if she wanted to trade seats because nobody was in front of me, and I was shocked by how surprised and grateful she was. Her reaction made my day

I'm somewhat middle height, and I've done this for a little shortie at a concert before. It was her first one, and gosh dang it, I'm not going to let my big head spoil popping her concert cherry.
I always seem to land behind jumbo people that don't show the same courtesy :(
I'm a jumbo person... Depending on setting I might give that courtesy... Issue is, everyone want to stand in front of me. I understand that, but do ppl understand that halfway through the concert I'm at the back of the audience?
Load More Replies...My ex-wife and sister are both 6-8” shorter than me. At concerts I would always put them in front of me directly if there was a hole so they could see. Or would trade places if theirs was blocked and mine wasn’t. That gesture had me enjoying a lot of awesome performances of the back of someone’s head. 😊
I'm sorry; I read surfing instead of suffering at first and was taken aback. Who doesn't like baby turtles surfing?
THIS is the reason we should all get our s**t together with plastic - single- and multiple-use
Some Good News ran for 9 episodes, featuring a long list of celebrities including Brad Pitt, Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney and Malala Yousafzai. Krasinski also used the show to raise over $2 million for various charities including Direct Relief, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Trauma Free World, World Central Kitchen, the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, Toys for Tots and the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund. Despite being produced for and uploaded to Youtube, Some Good News received over 72 million views and 2.58 million subscribers during its first eight weeks.
Baby donkeys are adorable, and so are these gorgeous baby goats. You got the important part 100 % correct <3
Ummm community farm worker here... definitely goats. But still super cool.
Thank you for adopting and for giving this precious little bundle of love his fur-ever home.
They know. They just always know when they’re with the right people. Doggy’s well and truly home, safe, well fed, warm, and so very much loved now, hence the ear to ear grin.
We tend to associate finding sources of positivity with something to do in our personal lives, but why not incorporate it into the workplace as well? Paola Cecchi-Dimeglio, CEO and founder of People.Culture.Drive. Consulting Group, wrote a piece for MITSloan Management Review sharing tips for how employers can boost employee morale through sharing good news. She mentions that employees tend to imitate the behavior of their supervisors, so it’s important to set positive examples and encourage sharing uplifting news. Paola also mentions the value of regular social bonding opportunities to help employees enjoy their work environment. Lastly, she shares that guiding workers towards mental health resources can help reduce anxiety, and helping employees develop start-and-stop rituals at work can make it easier for them to find a healthy balance between work and personal life.
I’ve wanted to be a cat (or dog, or wolf) since I’ve had conscious thoughts, sooo XD
I’ve always said when I die I want to come back as one of my cats—-impossible , I know. So let me come back as a cat who belongs to someone like me, who treats all her babies, two-legged and four-legged, as her most beloved children.
I’ve always wanted to be a sea sponge. Just absorbing water and doing whatever else sea sponges do ! Yea
actually, it's not manipulative capitalism.... I've never seen a hotel give away anything for free that it didn't feel was an absolute life-or-death necessity. So, to get something as random and silly as a rubber ducky, I would say this hotel in particular is more bucking that capitalist trend.
Many hotels do this, they also encourage you to take the shampoo and soap packs/bottles, because they will have to be replaced after your visit anyway. It's their way to stop visitors from stealing other stuff like towels or bathrobes
Anything with the hotel's logo, the pen and notepad, tissue box, ashtray if provided, are often written off as advertising
Load More Replies...Funny but everyone needs to spay or neuter all pets!! There are too many animals seeking adoption already.
Its unlikely thisll occur, but itd be such a better ending if they ended up keeping the kittens, since they didnt neuter the cat
Load More Replies...Amazing. xD. Do get your pets neutered or spayed if you don’t plan on breeding them (With another person intending to breed their cat.) though. (Also, I spelled neutered wrong and auto correct changed it to “buttered”. AH YES, DO GET YOUR PETS BUTTERED. aDDS FLaVOR- just kidding but still xd.)
Or you could both spay and neuter your cats so there won't be more unwanted kittens.
As someone who is constantly taking in pregnant cats... this isn't as wholesome or cute as some may imagine. SPAY/NEUTER YOUR CATS/DOGS!

Fail. But achievement. It is rare to see smiles and laughter in older photographs like these. I think these capture unheeded frivolity beautifully and sincerely.
They're so cute! These old portraits always look so serious, it's nice to be able to see how 'normal' they were too.
That is just lovely. It was considered rude to show your teeth in a smile for photos back then. They're adorable.
Probably be easier to just put photos of them in there......

The third cat gravitates toward my husband just like the dog. Basically we have four animals who love both of us, but we each have two who consider us their favorites. We just love them all with a heart and a half.
And they won't even bombard us with some tissues

Yeah, I don't get this. She caught the cat and took her veil off?

Thanks! So sweet and a nice price (23). Pro tip for sharing links: everything after the question mark (in this case it's after tower) is messy and unnecessary (ooo, if I had a nickel, lol).

This may be one of the more succinctly profound takes I've read about the arts
I somehow remember a song—-I think from a musical—-with lyrics that say “I made it” or “I’m still here”. Can’t think of it off the top of my head. Back in a minute. A minute later: I knew I wasn’t imagining it! “I’m Still Here” from the 1971 Broadway musical “Follies” by Stephen Sondheim.
This is likely false. I hear that birds chirp to announce their territory, a way of saying "be careful where you zip through in the skies!" Don't trust tweets that start with "Scientists believe..." without a source.
There's a type of Fairy Wren in Australia that has a couple of peculiarities about their singing. They live in 'harems' - one male and his group of females, plus a few juvenile males. The females sing love songs to their male and wait for it to nest at night. Then they sneak off and have sex with a neighbouring harem leader, before sneaking home at dawn and then singing to their male. There was also a study done on them not long ago, about why the male seemed to be singing specifically to eggs that are gestating. The scientists figured out that when the babies are hatched, they already know Dad's voice, so they stay in the harem when they're older. I love them - I have a group of them in my garden; the male is called Diego and (all of) the females are called Frida...as in Khalo.
Load More Replies...That's nice, but I still don't enjoy being woken up at 5 am by birds singing as loud as they can
But in the morning they are fighting. I went outside and then i heard to birds having an argument lol
Tbh it's been around 10 years that I dream with a unidentified dessert I ate back in a school trip. Relatable.
Describe it. The power of BP crowd sourcing might be able to figure it out
Load More Replies...I really need to try to make my great grandmother's Portuguese sweet bread. It's been years since I've had it and it's my favorite food in the whole world. I'll need to re-write the recipe, though, as English was her second language and it shows in the way the recipe is written. I haven't attempted it though, because I'm afraid I'll ruin it.
I would 100% do this. I also crave random food/snacks I ate once before in my life (thinking about you KLM cheesepuffs on an Amsterdam-Edinburgh flight circa 2015)
I still think about curried tilapia I had at a friends house, oh I guess, 20 years ago now. I’d never had curry and thought didn’t like any kind of fish and it was amazing. I recently ran into her little bro and immediately told him I remembered his moms curried tilapia and he gave me the strangest look- ha!
I'm 45 years old and the best thing I've ever eaten in my life was homemade tahdig made by a friend of my moms- when I was 14- so I can definitely relate to this. Shortly after we ate at her home, they moved to England and our family got out of touch. I still think about that tahdig pretty frequently and have tried to replicate it but nothing has worked very well or even come close to Pamela's.
I craved the kiwi gummy candies that I found in a San Fransisco chinatown shop for over ten years. I randomly saw them in a grocery store in Sacramento, then I bought about four packs, just so eveyone else with me could try them too. (Kasugai kiwi gummies) They are so good, and come in lots of different flavors.
"I can't believe I sent my dad a picture of me at Santa Monica Pier and his response was his GTA character at the same place.. "
I read that as a "goose" sense of humour lol my bad

Do what makes you happy. I'm 50 and I still love putting together a Lego set. I don't care if others think it's childish. It helps that I can now afford the big, expensive sets I would never dare ask my parents for.

Load More Replies...That’s the most unrealistic case of vitiligo ever - BOTH ears lose pigment at the same time, with the same edging, the white perfectly stopping in a literal straight line, yet the fur on the inside of the ear is still black? I love the look of this cat, but it isn’t real. It can’t be.
Load More Replies...I may be very wrong and I dont remember the condition, but it looks the same as what make siamese cats darker in the end-bits. Their fur change colour with the temperarure. So where is is white, he is presumebly colder
I think that's called the Agouti gene. That's what makes 'pointed' cats pointed, i.e. darker on their points. However, having a fever when a young cat can also make their fur grow in white - I had a seal point ragdoll who had little white 'spectacles' around his eyes from a short illness when he was a kitten. But I've never seen a dark coloured cat with ears this white!
Load More Replies...I'm obsessed with my cats' feet. Utterly obsessed. I can't leave them alone! I'm lucky I have three cats, so one doesn't have to put up with messing with it all the time. But I can't decide which feeties I love the most! The jet black, leathery ones... The pink with black spots ones that are exceedingly ticklish... Or, the palest pink, tiny ones that feel just like velvet. Kitty foots are truly beautiful!
What do they smell like? Greyhound feet smell of popcorn
Load More Replies...What’s so cool is when they put their paw out like that, and you gently put your finger or hand under it—-not grabbing it, just gently under it—-and they do that stretch and clench of their toes like they’re squeezing your hand or finger to tell you they love you. You can only do that with a cat who loves you. If the cat doesn’t like you, they’re more apt to turn their paw into a murder mitten and take a swipe at you to slice you up.
That's a foot. Cats typically have 5 fingers on their hands, 4 fingers on their feetsies. 😊
I read somewhere that in Japan, the lost-n-found counter actually looks after and preserves the condition of unclaimed stuff almost to a T. Would be great if such care and dedication was available everywhere.
Are gender preference differences in identical twins a thing? Today I learned... Now I have an interesting rabbit hole to go down rather than working.
yes? they're different people who happen to look alike smh

I feel the same way when I take a pic of my dog. WAY more photogenic than I am...
A guy tried to "neg" me once, saying my dog was way cuter than me. I mean, of course he was right, but so as to discourage the behavior I shot back "he's also more likely to make out with you"
Load More Replies...Yep. they are nowhere near as photogenic as this one. Cute, but not that magnificent.
Load More Replies...The one in the bottom left hand corner is real, but the other two are very well made toys. I've seen that plushie posted as a real life platypus more times than I can count!
It's a stuffed animal. This woman's work is beyond incredible. https://www.deviantart.com/yulialeonovich/art/Toy-platypus-805005706
Go figure. The world's only two monotremes are both known as puggles when they're young. Cool!!!
Just because it’s a plushie doesn’t mean it doesn’t look like the real thing.
There is a clear difference. Puggles are wrinkly, not fuzzy like this one.

We used to have a raccoon come to our house begging for food when I was a little kid. We didn't see her for a few weeks and we thought she had been hit by a car, but then suddenly she came to the door. We gave her a treat and she ran back to the woods. Then she came back with a baby raccoon in her mouth and dropped it at our feet and ran back to the woods for her other baby. She dropped him next to us and sat back a few feet while we cooed and pet the baby raccoons and gave them treats, too. After a few minutes of this she waddled up, took the babies and went back to the forest. We figured she was either showing off her babies or telling them "Here's where you get the good stuff"
Not a raccoon, but a muskrat. My husband and I "adopted" a small park with a pond, and started caring for the grounds, planting flowers that were native to the area, etc. There was a pair of muskrats that approved of our work, and every spring, after the thaw, the mama muskrat would bring her babies over to show us. She had twins almost every year. Talk about "Muskrat Love." LOL

Can I add one more? Three days ago, I had to put one of my cats down. She was 21, had been sick for some time, but it was still hard. I was ugly-crying the whole day afterwards. Today I got a sympathy card from her vet, signed by everyone at the office. And yes, I'm crying again.
I'm sorry to hear that. That must have been heartbreaking. I'm glad that the vets cared so much about your dear old cat.

As soon as I heard the key turn, I ran down the stairs and held her in my arms. I had never been so happy to see her in all my life. She's in bed now, fast asleep, and I'm so relieved that she's home.
A brilliant post. We need more of the same. Gorgeous pictures and messages
My little brother went to visit four kittens we'd dropped off at a local rescue. When he walked in the room, he was ambushed by SIX kittens: them and two friends. The shyest one, a girl, actually jumped on his head and started grooming his hair. Two of them untied his shoelaces and the other three climbed up his legs mewing for kisses and cuddles. It was fluffball chaos!
Several years ago I had ordered a new bed for our aging dog. Before it was delivered she crossed the rainbow bridge. I let the company know what happened in an email and they (Chewy) sent us a flower arrangement and a sympathy card!! Made me cry all over again. Rebecca Odom
