This Artist Makes Uplifting Comics, And They Might Brighten Up Your Day (30 New Pics)
Interview With ArtistHave you ever thought about how words of encouragement can lighten up your mood or even motivate you to get through the rest of the day? Sometimes even simple words can charge you up when you are having a bad day, and Eckyo’s comics are here to do just that!
Eckyo is a comic artist and an online drawing teacher. He shares his works on Instagram, and to no one’s surprise, his comics have been previously featured here a couple of years ago.
"I started this comic project about positive words because I believe that the words you say to yourself become your mindset. And a good and strong mindset is very powerful energy," said the artist two years ago in his first article here on Bored Panda.

This is so true. Discipline carries you through a hard ride on your horse when you want to just stop and be that instagram princess who rides around a pasture.
I love this! And yes I do procrastinate a lot so I need to put this on my desk or something.
As I am currently procrastinating by reading this article instead of finishing my spreadsheet, I'm right there with you!
Load More Replies...We think it's pretty clear that the artist seems to be very keen on uplifting people's spirits with his comics, in his older post here on Bored Panda he wrote: "A good and strong mindset is a very powerful energy. All these positive words in my comics are very important to me and I hope these positive vibes can help others too like they help me going through my life."
You don’t have to forgive someone in order to reach a point where your feelings about them don’t control your life anymore.
Load More Replies...i hear you <3 also i'm not the only in lonely. people in loving relationships can feel lonely too, it is all about self-love first.
Load More Replies...First, we asked the artist if he had any major influences in her life that might've helped her to develop and refine his style.
"I love Akira Toriyama, the author of Dragon Ball, a legend in Japanese comics. The style of drawing in the beginning of his series was very fun and cute. And through this manga, I saw (for the first time) what is called chibi or a cute version of a character in terms of looks. From there, I wanted to make my own version of chibi-style characters."
I realized again today. People don't really care much about anyone but themselves. Get them started on themselves, and no need to worry about filler conversation.
Load More Replies...exactly. because they seem to misunderstand you even more. While silence is golden, I will only say what's necessary.
Art, in any kind of form, takes a lot of time not only to practice but also to produce, therefore we asked Ecky how long it takes him to fully finish his comics.
"It usually takes around one hour, more or less, to draw the comic. But sometimes it takes more time to get the idea when it comes to what I actually want to draw and how to deliver the message in the correct way."
Being an artist is not easy, one can easily encounter a lack of inspiration, burnout, etc, so we wanted to ask Eckyo about his ideas for the comics.
"I love to collect quotes that are meaningful for my life. I have been doing this for years already. So when I create comics from those powerful messages, it is also a reminder for myself because I realize that there is so much negativity that circulates in our everyday life. So hopefully my comics can help others too!"
Except they don't, sea salt is super coarse, table salt is extremely fine... granulated sugar is middle of the two
i'm salt-sensitive for real though, but i agree about sugar. Too much of it is not good my friends sometime look at me 0_0 when i tell i take white sugar in my tea. Why is it still for sale then?
This is not really about salt and sugar...
Load More Replies...Yes I'm often frustrated because I haven't completed something so this comic is a good reminder
I passed my driver's test on my first try today :). In honor of that, I'll catch up on schoolwork tomorrow. I bet you I can finish the year early.

As we mentioned before, sometimes creative work can cause quite a burnout, therefore we asked the artist how he dealt with that as well.
"Yes, I did. I tried to divide and arrange my time effectively. Although just for a moment, I like to sit back and do other things like read comics or watch movies. It helps me to refresh and continue doing my work."
We also asked Eckyo about how people reacted to his work.
"Most people love my comics. Lots of people send me DMs about how my comics are encouraging them, and I am very, very happy to read their messages! It's amazing how I can connect with many people through my comics."
With so many deaths happening around, it is really important to remember this. Life is not always fair. Time is not always fair. Try making everyday count. This pic is so heart touching. Artist, I thank you.
Yay! That is a good way to think about the bad days - even if it's going badky - try to make the most of it ❤️
*sigh* Sad :((((((((( Also, pls just use they. Easier and more inclusive
Load More Replies...The creative process is not easy, but there are some enjoyable parts about it.
"My favorite part of the process is sketching and arranging the scenes! I always enjoy the time when I am doing this."
We also asked about the inspiration behind the artist's Instagram account.
"I saw lots of big artists share their works on Instagram. I realized this is a good way to share my comics, because with this method I could reach so many people across the world."
...and some grass you can water all you want, it wont grow, so you have to let go.
The grassblades have faces. Awww, i can hear them all in unison. My lil bebes <3
Digital art and art, in general, is not easy and requires a lot of patience, time, resources, and in most cases even money, therefore we wanted to know how the talented comic artist started his own career in digital art.
"I started as a digital artist when I was still in college. Bought a Wacom pen and have been in love with the digital drawing world since then. Back in college, my studies were more about design than drawing but with all of this, I learned some basic drawing in college, and this has helped me to improve my own style."
Artists tend to get motivated by a lot of things such as curiosity, the search for beauty, or even meaning. Therefore, we asked Eckyo about that too.
"I love when people feel encouraged by reading my comics. This has been a powerful fuel for me constantly creating these comics for almost 4 years. And of course, this has been an amazing, meaningful journey for me. My gratitude goes towards all of my comic readers."
Similar: don't judge your behind-the-scenes against another's highlight reel.
Amen to that! But also add that some cannot remove themselves from that environment.
This helped me realize that I need to move on from some toxic friendships, thank you.
I am tired of making myself smile. Just want to give it up. [Edit: Won't erase this comment, but I'm doing a lot better now, and as I read these comments I made in the past I realize I have overcome the worst]
then don't force yourself to smile. crying is ok too (be gentle, music helps for tears) just dont stay there for too lonng. "cant have sunshine without a little rain"

True. Explaining yourself to people who wont understand is a waste of time.

*whips out my low-heat iron* you underestimate me (Yes you can iron paper!)
Am I allowed to take a hot iron to those who break my trust?
Load More Replies...omg nooo... it's so true. but at same time it isnt. i waant to believe it isnt, that's the problem :(
My heart hurts. I spent most of my life losing the trust I never knew my parents had in me. But, as Pumpkin Spice said, you can iron paper, and it will be as good as new.
*bites lip trying not to cry because I must be strong for those who need me*

Just remember, when they tell you that, that true men aren't afraid to express their feelings. I am sorry you must endure this, my friend. I hope that you are able to find people who will let you express things that are part of being human.

I will give you Internet hugs. Hug deprivation is absolitely terrible; I feel your pain.

Hugs to you. However bad today might seem, tomorrow it'll be in the past.
Load More Replies...I got tired eventually, so I built a wall around me with those stones to give me protection.
I did that too, when I was younger. But some of those stones were knocked out of the wall, and all my emotions escaped. It caused months of depression and emotional outbursts that frankly I have not quite recovered fully from. But it is such a relief to let down your walls, so I hope you find someone who inspires you to do just that.
Load More Replies...see the picture, he was happy when he passed the miserable bunch. What about when there is no passing them? You cant just 'don't'. Frog is sailing on a LEAF too. the only solution is to get on their wave-length and tell them : look, i've a leaf and a stick to work with here, but if being negative to me is your coping mechanism and keeps your head above water- it doesn't affect me anymore. i love and understand yall.. Rowing my leaf to better shores though - -- -
This I can vouch for. Without the mistakes I and many others have made, I would not have the wonderful life I do now. Sure, I'm still struggling, but who isn't? I can always improve :).
Dance in the darkness, sing in the silence, burn with the bitterness of that wrong. Sing of our silence, that is the Kaarenthari Song. --the Kaarenthari Song, "An Extraordinary Journey". It won't make sense as to why this is important until the book is finished, but I still like it.
How about we normalise not having to forgive people? Getting a little tired of the idea that you have to forgive toxic people, especially when they have no remorse. You don't owe them anything.
Me: Hey God. God: Hello….. Me: I’m falling apart. Can you put me back together? God: I would rather not. Me: Why? God: Because you aren’t a puzzle. Me: What about all of the pieces of my life that are falling down onto the ground? God: Let them stay there for a while. They fell off for a reason. Take some time and decide if you need any of those pieces back. Me: You don’t understand! I’m breaking down! God: No – you don’t understand. You are breaking through. What you are feeling are just growing pains. You are shedding the things and the people in your life that are holding you back. You aren’t falling apart. You are falling into place. Relax. Take some deep breaths and allow those things you don’t need anymore to fall off of you. Quit holding onto the pieces that don’t fit you anymore. Let them fall off. Let them go. Me: Once I start doing that, what will be left of me? God: Only the very best pieces of you. Me: I’m scared of changing. God: I keep telling you – YOU AREN’T CHANGING!!
God: I keep telling you – YOU AREN’T CHANGING!! YOU ARE BECOMING! Me: Becoming who? God: Becoming who I created you to be! A person of light and love and charity and hope and courage and joy and mercy and grace and compassion. I made you for more than the shallow pieces you have decided to adorn yourself with that you cling to with such greed and fear. Let those things fall off of you. I love you! Don’t change! … Become! Become! Become who I made you to be. I’m going to keep telling you this until you remember it. Me: There goes another piece. God: Yep. Let it be. Me: So … I’m not broken? God: Of course Not! – but you are breaking like the dawn. It’s a new day. Become!!! ~John Roedel~

this is so true. Especially online! Don't fight strangers online. It makes a difference, and you won't be changing anyone's mind anyway. Live by example and VOTE.
this reminds me once when i felt like complimenting my friend, i said "you have a beautiful face" which sounded funny because it was specific. I meant she is very beautiful, lol
I made my examiner chuckle while he was doing my driver's test because he asked me what the speed limit was and I replied "It is currently 45."

I'm going to see my friends again someday, and I might not be able to stop hugging them for hours XD.
Cause all of me loves all of you. Love your curves and all your edges. Love your perfect imperfections. Give your all to me, I'll give my all to you...
I agree. Not many people can choose happiness when they're being sucked into a whirlpool of depression and self-doubt.
