But what if I tell you that this is not just a feeling? Sometimes, the universe plays an evil game with us by targeting one person and making it rain all over their head. In fact, there’s a whole corner of Reddit, “Eff You In Particular,” dedicated to precisely such instances.
The community describes itself as “the home of photos, GIFs, and videos of people/things taking comical injuries/beatings/general physical discomfort, while being singled out,” and it really feels all too relatable.
So scroll down through this painfully funny “been there and done that” collection of pics that make you wonder what are the chances... Proving the chances are pretty darn high.

We all have days in our life when the going gets a bit tough. One problem or mishap comes after another, making it feel like the whole world has turned its back against you. All jokes aside, this state of being can be truly detrimental; anxiety creeps in, leaving you sleep-deprived and exhausted. It’s only fair to blame it on bad luck, but is it really a matter of luck we’re talking about in such a case?
We reached out to Dr. Lise Deguire, a clinical psychologist and author of the multi-award-winning book “Flashback Girl: Lessons on Resilience From a Burn Survivor,” to find out about navigating the miserable times. “There are days, weeks, months and even years when it seems like everything possible goes wrong,” Lise said and added that in her practice, her clients experience this, “and we wind up joking that they are like Job, from the Old Testament.”

Lise continued: “Sometimes life is like that, but there are ways to cope. Maintaining a sense of humor is key, as well as maintaining a sense of perspective. Even many truly unfortunate people still have blessings in their lives. When we are miserable, we tend to focus repetitively on what has gone wrong.”
The clinical psychologist explained that “it will improve your mood to turn your attention to what you do have. Also, remember that life goes on. You won't always be unfortunate; it's a phase.”
Still a better use of the money than the Musk/Bezos space-d**k-measuring.

When asked about the luck factor, Lise said that it can certainly seem that some people are much unluckier than others. “Life can be random, and tragedies can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Still, we can make choices to improve our "luck." Choosing supportive friends, making time for the people we love, saving extra money for the future, eating healthy foods... all these are examples of ways we can improve our lives.”
According to her, in the long run, “it can seem like we are ‘lucky to have good relationships, savings and good health, but probably we did little things to help us attain these blessings.”
For some reason all I can think of is water being forced into his lungs and sinuses with a high pressure water hose. And that is exceptionally painful.
How is it fun? That water pressure is enough to damage eyes, peel skin and drown that man by forcing the water to mouth, nose and lungs.

I almost washed my best friend overboard once while we were swabbing the decks of our Oil Drilling Rig.I had a two inch fire line charged and I would use it to rinse the decks, we all started hosting around and Scotty rushed me with a mop, I opened up on him with the firehose, knocked him down and then proceeded to spin him around on the deck in the soapy water. Before I could understand what was happening, Scotty washed up under the safety guard around the rig and if he hadn't grabbed a piece of metal and hung on, he would have fallen about 120 feet into the Gulf of Mexico. We were still just teenagers, so we always did fun stuff, but we never played with the fire line again. I lost Scotty three weeks ago, he had a difficult life, but he lived it to serve others. You're A good man, Scott-O.
Calm down, Karens. I'm sure the hose isn't turned to full pressure. I mean, you can see in the picture that one of the other adults, presumably one of the victim's buddies, put the kid up to it. I'm sure dude was just fine. Soggy. But just fine.

Not funny, people have gotten really hurt from that - like losing eyesight.
This made me wince. The guy shouldn't have been standing where he was, and those kids could have used better supervision, but getting shot in the face with a high pressure hose and knocked overboard could have killed that guy. I hope he's OK and wasn't too badly hurt.

You may notice yourself emerge as a stronger person. It is useful to remember this to help get you through and also that any situation is temporary.”
First of, wherever things feel like they're slipping out of your hands, you gotta let them go. Calming down is key, and so is the realization not everything’s in your control. Tell that to your inner perfectionist!
Secondly, when you feel miserable, you really want to become your best friend. We tend to lose faith in our capabilities when we are faced with challenges. We also tend to put the blame on and even hate ourselves in crisis for being weak and not in control. Such behavior makes things much worse and we slowly turn into our own most brutal enemies.

As cliche as it sounds, little things do wonders, like connecting with good old friends or doing activities that you like. People’s positivity will surely reflect onto you, and it’s a timeless way to make yourself feel better.
