This Instagram Account Is All About Empowering And Entertaining Women, And Here Are 35 Of Its Best Posts
International Women's Day is on the 8th of March, but one Instagram account thinks that we need to expand the occasion and celebrate it all year long.
It's called 'Unwomanly', and as its bio says, the account is dedicated to sharing entertaining and educational content on female empowerment.
From dating to careers and everything in between, 'Unwomanly' touches on a wide variety of subjects and paints quite an inspiring picture.

"Women's empowerment involves a radical shift towards knowing our gifts and strengths and then fully embracing them to boldly show up in the world," Logan, author of the 'Self-Love Workbook For Women: Release Self-Doubt, Build Self-Compassion, and Embrace Who You Are', told Bored Panda.
"No longer playing small to make others comfortable or holding back due to internalized negative beliefs about ourselves as women in society."
According to Logan, who has developed strong clinical skills providing therapy in a variety of mental health settings for over two decades, it's important to remember that fully embracing yourself does not happen magically overnight.
"It takes consistency and intention," she said. "The first step involves believing you matter enough to learn, grow, and create a self-love practice. This repetition allows us to rewire our belief system and change the way we see ourselves, creating a new pathway for authenticity and living in your whole truth."
"Challenging and releasing negative self-doubt and critical self-talk makes space for self-compassion. Learning to set healthier boundaries, talking more kindly to ourselves, prioritizing self-care, and digging in deep to heal those wounded parts allows for the resiliency and consistency that it takes to show up and share your light in the world," Logan added.

I wonder how she'd react to the fact that some girls (like myself) grew up without a father or man in their lives and just figured out how to open jars by themselves?
Or that some grew up with a dad(like myself), but figured out that it's just so much more rewarding to do things on their own, rather than waiting hopelessly for a man to help them :)

As a female minister this is my proudest moment. When I go visit the elderly, and women as well as men asks me, "before you go, could you please help me open the jar in the fridge?" I love being able to help.
As a single woman in my fifties, I only really regret not being married when there's something I need on the top shelf at the supermarket. If I wasn't 5ft2 it wouldn't come up.
I taught my daughter how to open jars so she wouldn't need a man if that was her choice, I'm her dad. 😁
The real trick is to just use your left hand. It changes the angle you're applying force just a little bit and can make opening a jar easier
There are times I've tried both hands, both over and under the lid position, using the grip mats, and tried poured boiling water on it and tapping it on the benchtop and the seal still won't come undone :(

You would be amazed what I do to open a can without asking the two men in my house. Hot water, banging, hurting the f**k out of my hand.
A rubber band around the lid and one around the body really helps get a jar open. Makes it more grippy.

If a grown a*s woman couldn't figure out how to open a jar without the help of a man, she shouldn't have kids so she won't pass them her stupid genes. Take a spoon, insert the tip (that's what she said, by the way) between the lid and the jar, pry the lid with the jar, you'll hear a satisfying POP and the lid will come off easily.
Just bang the edge of the lid on a hard surface, breaks the seal and opens easily...my food tech teacher taught me this over 20 years ago, works 95% of the time
I do more for my wife than just open jars....I also open Gatorade bottles!
Honestly though... real talk... I can't open jars to save my life. I have held off on making dinner until my neighbour could open a jar for me. Like when my husband isn't home... I just stare at the jar with great sadness.
Usually I'm pretty good at this, but once I got one even the tools wouldn't work on. Living alone with my dog (he was no help), but fortunately in a busy area. So I took a beer outside and offered it to whomever could get the jar open. Only took a couple minutes, problem solved!

In order to achieve gender equality and make all of these pictures a thing of the past, countries across the globe must increase the number of women in government, ensure education is accessible to all women and girls, create free or affordable child care so that more women can participate in the labor market, and provide access to safe reproductive health care.

It's so weird that we call it 'losing' your virginity. You didn't lose anything, on the contrary, you gained something: you have gained a new experience, nothing was lost. Imagine if we called all significant new life experiences losses: if we called going to school for the first time 'losing your toddler-phase', going on a holiday without your parents for the first time 'losing your parent-dependance', moving in with your boyfriend/girlfriend 'losing your aloneness', going to a music festival for the first time 'losing your silence', walking for the first time 'losing your crawling days'. Weird, right? We view those as gaining a new life experience or entering a new phase in your life, so let's talk about sex that way too. Also, I dislike the emphasis on only intercourse. I think, having someone else give you an orgasm for the first time, or you giving someone else one, is just as much a significant new life experience and start of a new phase in your life as having intercourse.
Megan Logan is happy that things are finally moving. "Women have far too long held themselves back with internalized shame-based beliefs from society and cultural imprinting," she said. "We continue to embark on an ever-evolving employment journey. Through the different stages of life and over time, the self-love journey never ends."
"I believe women have become tired of constantly nurturing others without replenishing what makes their hearts and souls happy and fulfilled. While self-empowerment is an individualized journey, it happens on a collective level as well," she said. "As more women do their individual work, self-love can radically change the world we live in. I see this happening all over the globe. My first book, Self-Love Workbook for Women, has been translated into over 18 languages! How amazing that women all over have empowered themselves in learning to evolve and grow!" she said.

I'm so angry when a woman/mother/grandmother votes to restrict her own rights & the rights of their mothers & sisters & children. And they say they believe they are doing the right thing. For whom?
The fact that you can be intimately assaulted at any given moment in a public place pretty much informs our behavior as women. Every single woman I know has been sexually assaulted, from public boob or butt grabs all the way up to gang rape. Every. Single. Woman.
Men need to hear this more often. Not only public sexual assault, but I know many women who were sexually assaulted by family members as children. It happens so much more than people realize because we don’t talk about it.

Sorry, I stopped reading these about half way through. IF you do not want men thinking you are a dumb female wanting sex and saying no as a come on, DO NOT ACT that way!
I was asked by my doctor the other day how old I was. I'm 29. He then proceeded to inform me I still have time to have children. I told him I didn't want any. Then he said I must want children. I told him I'm too sick(not that I need a reason), he told me I was not too sick. I have depression, anxiety, severe PTSD, and I'm on 4 medications and have never been able to work full time because of sickness. But this guy who met me five minutes prior knows that I must have children and that I'm obviously capable. My doctor of all people. I almost wanted to cry cause it's a sensitive issue for me. Screw that guy.
