If seven adults can eat seven cupcakes in seven minutes, how long would it take 30 adults to eat 30 cupcakes?
Seven minutes; one adult takes seven minutes to eat a cupcake.
I can eat a cupcake and be reaching for the next one in seven seconds.
I assumed the answer would be one minute for both questions. You have seven adults, and seven cupcakes. Each adult gets one cupcake. So then you have 7÷7 = 1. Meaning that each adult could eat one cupcake in one minute. Because if they were to eat them one person at a time or take a total of seven minutes. Not to mention the fact that for 30 people to eat 30 cupcakes, based on the logic of the answer, that would be a required order of 900 cupcakes. What kind of psychopath orders 900 cupcakes sets them in front of 30 people each of you WILL all eat 30 each. The way the question and answer are phrased sets of two totally different equations.
It takes every individual person 7 minutes to eat a cupcake. So, if they all start at the same time, it will take only 7 minutes.
