Even if you are not very keen on tattoos, it is very hard not to be impressed by the art of Jesse Rix - a talented tattoo artist from New Hampshire.
Specializing in 3D color tattoos, Jesse uses shadows and geometric shapes, mostly squares and pentagons, to create impressive optical illusions that reveal vast new worlds beneath human skin.
But, by all means, scroll down and see for yourself!

I can't even fathom how long this would've taken to do and the cost...far out.
It makes me kind of sad to think how much and how quickly those colors will fade, though. Ink like that doesn't last long.
Oh look guys have nipples too, why dont they cover them up? I dont get this.
Why is this one higher than #22, which is the same person, but with the arm finished?
oh wow a nipple! I think if we see a nipple then we might die or something. why do they cover uo nipples not like humans/ mammles have lived of nipples for millions of years. Seariously i dont get this. Its not like they cover up when we needed then did they?
Wow! The tonal quality and perspective make this really appear to be 3-D. I hope that he stays out of the sun, a tan would probably ruin the effect.
This tattoo looks as though a 3-D prosthetic appliance has been applied to her chest. Very epic
These tattoos are amazing. Whatever is being charged for them is WORTH IT.
You can just hear the animals in the woods calling its that effective 😊
These obviously required a good deal of time and talent, it certainly shows in the work. I just hope that I never have the opportunity to meet any of these models in real life. I would just become too distracted by the art to go about my business. (Bright and shiny objects also have this effect on me...) Thank you for sharing your art.
"Bright and shiny objects also have this effect on me" Are you a cat or a crow? :D
Load More Replies...This is really cool! But personally, it's kind of disturbing to see floating chunks of flesh
While looking at the list, my mind kept flipping between 'ouch' and 'wow.' Really pretty tattoos.
Wow, these are gorgeous. Don't mind my teasing about the nipples ;D
I like tattoos, got a couple myself. This guy is an incredibly talented artist. But the 3-D effect doesn't work for me. It puts me in mind of a gaping flesh wound.
I appreciate the artistry - but find these ugly and disturbing things to do to the human form. "What a piece of work is man..."
I started the top of the list and thought, "Yeah, they are a bit different..." Then I started to scroll down and noticed there was only really three styles. LOTS of honeycomb (hexagons), then cubes or rosettes. Look at the first three and then the rest are pretty much the same.
I hope everyone was paying attention to the whole picture on all of these. The effect he gets is fantastic, but it's clear this guy is an extremely talented artist. His portraiture is bang on perfect, and the way he uses colour is more like an oil painting than tattoo. ...///... I would literally buy a plane ticket so that this guy would work on me. The "rose window" effect is my absolute favourite.
