“Life is too short to get a real job,” says Elia Colombo, also known as Gebe, and we are nothing but grateful for his unusual motto, as it got this Italian artist to where he is now. Gebe combines his passion for graphic design and philosophy to create thought-provoking, cool drawings.

The freelance designer, illustrator, and self-named ‘free spirit’ turns his views and observations into colorful conceptual deep drawings that hold a mirror to social problems, pointing out its flaws with a fair share of humor and irony. Gebe seeks perfection in simplicity, which results in a minimalistic and provocative satire in an image.

In his polished illustrations, Gebe reflects on controversial topics, such as social habits, media, religion, and self-love making us face the harsh reality of today’s world.

These clever illustrations provide quality food for deep thoughts, so we hope you are hungry!

Hey everyone! Please help and donate to raise for my two daughters Quinceañera! They are twins and have always dreamed of sharing a quince. Unfortunately I can't afford one, but really don't want to disappoint them. Please help! https://www.gofundme.com/TwinQuince?sharetype=teams&member=1140042&rcid=r01-154338856616-749d2237bf524aab&pc=ot_co_campmgmt_w

I dunno, these things are not as bleak as it makes out. Giving birth, a good childhood, an education, Family, a rewarding career... when these are done right, they are kinda awesome. What else am I supposed to be running off to that is so amazing anyways?

Not everybody wants all of these. Yet society ‘forces’ you to have a family. If you don’t do/want that, you will be constantly looked and frowned upon and questioned all-the-time. Believe me, I know.

This may not be what this is trying to get across, but it makes me think about school teaching us calculus but not how to do our taxes (or other things similar to that). Sure, we may feel good learning things that may or may not help our fancy future careers along, but wouldn't it be better to make sure we get what everyone has to do as an adult first?

I see this as being about mindfulness. Our lives are so busy and crammed with stimulation. Take a break, give yourself some wholesome nothingness. Pray, meditate, run, immerse yourself in a hobby- do something that gets you into that pure flow state when you are thinking about nothing.

I find it a smidge ironic that there are so many anti-education drawings, and yet this one values reading. Obviously, people can learn to read without going to school, but that's the best way to reach the most people. (And as an avid reader, I love this one, BTW.)

    Lulu Huffington

They aren't anti-education drawings. More anti-standardized education. Anti-take this test in order to move on. As someone that learned to read before grade K (I also taught my son to read when he was 3), standardized schooling is not right for everyone. To believe that everyone learns at the same pace is ridiculous. And that's how many public schools function.

Basic education is very important and by basic education I mean primary/elementary school and secondary/high school. You don't have to go to college or University if you don't want to. Stay in school, kids.

I know this is going to be down voted but children in poor countries (and some not so poor) would give their left arm to be able to get the opportunity for an education.

True, but that's cuz of how poor they recognize life to be without it. They see it as a beacon as hope. Imagine if schools actually worked better with students, were more interactive and didn't force everyone to be on the same pace when they might not understand it. If that was the education system, more countries might be willing to fund them and more students, even in poor countries would be able to succeed :)

This is totally my current situation. I tend to hurt or cut myself everyday. My depression never stop. Everyone thought I just act. Then, why with those scars on my wrist ? I tried to talk with my friends, but they don't seems to understand. And yet, they thought it was not a big deal. Then, when I try to talk with my family about that, they even mad at me. Almost every night, I'll cry myself alone with those blood dripping from my wrist. That the only thing make me feel alive since I feel the pain. Life is totally unfair.

If she's smart and thoughtful she'll be surprised that you remember something she liked from a few months ago. If she's vapid and shallow she'll just toss it to the side and pay no mind to it.

Does everyone forget that the original Cupid was naked too? Wasn't he called Eros in Greek? I'm just saying, all of y'all taking notice of it's groins and getting defensive are the only ones who've got thoughts on it.. nudity shouldn't be shamed just because there's a select few that are s****y perverts. If someone is obsessing over the groins, f**k them up. If they do t care to even notice them, calm yoselves. The human body is beautiful, the ancient romans and Greeks knew that, that's why their art was so legendary and beautiful haha

Wouldn't schools help to develop someone's creativity? E.g. literature and art classes. Wouldn't they help someone to develop their carrier and contribute to society? E.g. become doctors, architects, builders, historians, teachers, translators... There are things to improve in school system in all the countries like teaching us useful things needed in life, e.g. how to treat each others, how to look for a job, how to do our taxes, how to recognize scam, how to find our potential, how to keep motivated, when to seek professional help...

maybe the least some schools could do is promote their students' creativity by NOT HAVING UNIFORMS! i know the excuse is 'to prevent bullying', but i have never heard of anyone in real life being seriously bullied for their clothing. honestly, it just gives idiot kids a chance to find something better to bully someone about. it also promotes normalization and some schools even prevent simple things such as socks with designs or hair dye. maybe the reason why so many people feel lost is because they were never given a chance to find themselves. i know some schools, such as the ones i have attended, were public and open to any kind of clothing, hair dye, socks, etc., but a lot of them are basically choking creativity. (this has nothing to do with learning by the way. learning and school are good in many ways. this is just a con among many pros.

I think it's trying to show something broader - to think outside the "basic" education and question concepts and ideas even if they are taught to you. Education often doesn't cater to who you are specifically. I don't think it means education is bad just the fact that it cannot be as open and individual as it could be.

I don't think they mean to say education is bad. It's just not what it should be. Schools focus on the wrong things that typically cause students to feel like they have to be similar rather than unique because they might get bullied for it. In the end, it causes students to try to be more like their peers, have the same education level, similar or even the same clothes, same learning pace, similar or same interests. Doesn't really let students branch out with their individualality as much as it ahould

It can also be taken to mean that we should respect ourselves , no matter our organs (can't see what's there), and not take sexuality for granted. Appreciate sexuality for the gift that it is, the gift that you are as a person, and don't feel that you have to give of yourself to anyone and everyone. This could go the other way, appreciate it when someone gives themselves to you!

Am I the only person who sees this as valuing female sexuality and body parts as objects? (It, not her) Keep on appreciating the overly sexualized female body. Doesn't show her head or anything of real value. I think the value in this picture is what it doesn't show. The concern is in how much woman try to take someone else's image of what they are supposed to live up to and make it theirs instead of figuring out what they want to stand for and blocking out the consept that any part of you should be considerd an "it" to be appreciated. (Without trust and consent of course)

Nawh, I think it's expressing how school can be seen as a jail to many students. They're forced to go and learn things they don't find use for for a while. They are told they HAVE to go and have no choice. Just like jail when you're caught doing wrong. Maybe we should better our education systems and teach students to wanna go rather than that they must or else. Might be more successful haha

Ik everyone sees this as a slam of some sort against apple users, but what if they were trying to illustrate how nowadays in society, we don't appreciate what we have, we find appreciation in things from our pasts, maybe things that brig is nostalgia? Based on the deep concepts this illustrator typically shows, I feel like they have a deeper meaning than just apple products. It could even have two meanings to please different crowds- the more perspectives that you have on a single illustration, the more people it'll reach and impact afterall haha

Other platforms are good and more flexible and enjoyable. Apple is fancy. That's why they sell. People will pay top dollar to look fancy

Just because someone slapped that price on it, doesn't mean it's gonna sell. One presumes it's a poorly done criticism of Apple computers. Nobody who buys them considers them bruised and blemished like that. It isn't marketing blinding them. But if you're so shallow that you can only judge a thing by one metric at a time (here, price), you'll never see. Don't jeer at people who can judge things with more depth.

Have you guys been in a situation where you are typing a bit too fast and you accidentally don’t hold the shift or ctrl key down long enough to press the letter key, and you either type a lowercase letter, or nothing happens at all? For me this has happened too many times.

All these "oMg pHoNeS aRe eViL" things are so dumb. When books were first created, people protested, saying it would rot your brain and that we should remain using scrolls. We can see where that went. Just accept change. Nothing is gonna destroy humanity anytime soon. Without the Internet or tech, there would be many more people dying. Tech saves lives.

Totally agree that some schools are horrible places -- but not all. Education is the way out of poverty for most people. I understand fully that artistic people have a hard time in a rigid, structured setting, and the world really does need more schools that accommodate the artistic children, but the idea that school in general is a bad thing is just sad.

OKAY, we get it! The artist hated school, it didn't suit them, but at this point after 4? 5? examples we KNOW.

I don't really think they see education as a bad thing guys haha. Just that it causes students to become more like each other. Students want to become more like their peers. They forced to attend (or else they're punished) and then they learn many things that they feel they won't need at least until they're much much older. They end up wanting to be more like each other, how they dress, their level of education, their learning pace, and even what they should and shouldn't be interested in, even if it is okay to do so cuz they don't wanna be seen as different or an outcast
