I dunno, these things are not as bleak as it makes out. Giving birth, a good childhood, an education, Family, a rewarding career... when these are done right, they are kinda awesome. What else am I supposed to be running off to that is so amazing anyways?

This may not be what this is trying to get across, but it makes me think about school teaching us calculus but not how to do our taxes (or other things similar to that). Sure, we may feel good learning things that may or may not help our fancy future careers along, but wouldn't it be better to make sure we get what everyone has to do as an adult first?

Thats not how I’m experiencing it today. My kids have a giant touch screen board which has WiFi access in the class room. They spend more time on research group tasks then I spent on in college and are taught to dream big and get the confidence to achieve it. And they are all under 10 years old.

as a person with many suicidal and/or depressed friends, this hurt. even though I myself haven't even thought seriously about taking my own life, i know they have. please remember that suicide doesn't stop the pain... it just passes it along.

So apparently this person thinks TV rots your brain, social media makes people "sheepeople", religion sucks, and they feel depressed. They also live in the UK. My advise, stop watching crappy TV, religion isn't bad; some extremist just make it seem that way, most people just want to fit in and connect, eat more avocados, take a walk and get some sunshine. Life is all about perspectives. Change yours and it will be better.

I don't get this "artist" at all. Some images say you need to read and educate yourself more, but then when a kid goes off to school to read and get educated its portrayed as doomed and prison and confinement which makes zero sense. it's too polarized on the artists personal beliefs are, too small minded.

That would be because of how the education system fails so many people by not being prepared to cater to the fact that we all learn differently, not to mention how many kids go through large amounts of strife due to bullying and segregation. This person obviously had a bad time at school and uses their art to express this, a lot of people really lack in the understanding of others.

I get what the illustrator is trying to say about today's public education. Currently, the school systems seem more bent on creating sheep than allowing kids to be creative. If the kids don't fall into the mold of what is considered acceptable academics, then they are ridiculed, medicated and set apart as being difficult. School is now more of a military setting where everyone is expected to conform. That's why I praise home schooling as a way to let your kids learn at their own pace while focusing in on their dreams and talents. Instead of creating mindless machines that take in data and spit out expected results, home schooled kids can step outside the limitations of learning what everyone else does and explore more information to reach new solutions.
