Which Is The Better Option To Read?
I'm a bookworm - I honestly think I comprehend better with physical books - plus, I love the smell of book pages and enjoy turning pages. Digital books can't provide any of that
I now need so much light to see that a backlit screen is the only way I can read before bed, as I've done since kindergarten. I can't imagine using the spotlight I'd need for a printed book and ever falling asleep!
Load More Replies...The only advantages to digital books are 1) backlight for reading and 2) the ability to tap a word for definition, translation, or Google references. I've been known to tap many a page in a paper book like a goof.
Ability to increase font size. Being able to continue reading on another device when out and about. Ability to have 1000s of books on a small tablet.
Load More Replies...My arthritic hands get too achy to hang onto a book. The tablet is a godsend.
Digital only when the environment isn't suitable for a physical book. Like on an airplane.
Why isn’t it suitable to read a physical book on an airplane ?
Load More Replies...I love paper books. But my wife told me: Books or me. Because the space, the dust,... I chose her and took half of my books to a local library, where they were very well received. Since then I have been using e-books and I see a lot of advantages.
I love having a gazillion titles on my paperwhite, but if I read something on it that I want to reread I get the paper copy.
I travelled a lot, sometimes for years at a time. I hated leaving behind good books and despite trying to part with them, I always had at least 4 or 5 in my backpack and the extra weight and space was just silly. I get why people prefer physical books but I'm so used to readers that I won't go back.
REAL BOOK !! end of discussion!, proper books ,digital ones are the work of evil !
Explain please how digital books are the work of evil.
Load More Replies...It would have been books, but my eyes are going and I need a larger print now.
The best ones are called "page turners" for a reason... I prefer physical books but can see the appeal of the practical e-readers.
Physical books every time. I read books to get away from looking at a screen.
Ebooks are great for travel and for people with vision problems. Otherwise I don't get how they're an improvement. They're also terrible for reading in bed. The last thing you want is all that light right before you sleep.
Sick old (F77). Severe end stage arthritis in hands. Holding a book is t*****e now. Degree in English lang and lit. iPad has saved my sanity
Ha! I can't afford that many physical books but I have a whole library (or even library if you have borrowing privileges) on my digital screen. Plus the internet. Great if you have the money to buy everything you might be interested in, but not all of us can afford the $$ or space to keep physical books. Now I don't have to go out of the house if I take a yen to re-read something. Digital was a game changer.
Depends. I can't buy my kinds of books where I live, so I order some hardbacks and download others.
I like the feel of paper books but they do take up a lot of room and, more importantly, I can't adjust the font. For the legally blind, digital books are a godsend.
Books have always been big part of my life and I prefer physical books. But I love to have the option of digital books too. They are especially handy while commuting to work and travelling. Especially as I am annoiyingly fast reader, and I would have to pack a pile of books to every trip.

Load More Replies...Super bonus question: Time travel back to the 1980s or to the future to the 2070s? No return.
So many divisive opinions: forks up or down in dishwasher? Front to the shower or turn your back? Wash hair first or body first? Leave your printer on all the time or not? Hats or not hats? Ketchup on eggs? Critical questions, people!
Up, depends, hair, yes but it turns itself off, yes, absolutely not.
Load More Replies...Nothing wrong with pointless questions sometimes. Better than an excess of celebrity stuff or showcasing the rotten people that exist, right?
