Here's something for you to think about: Obediently using businesses that don't pay business tax, like Starbucks means that they don't contribute anything to society, like funding schools and hospitals, whereas if you bought your coffee from reputable places that do pay tax, we'd have better services.

I refuse to use DoorDash or GrubHub for the simple reason I am expected to tip PRIOR to them providing a service. Do you tip your hairdresser BEFORE you get your hair cut? Do you tip your waiter BEFORE he even takes your order? Of course not. I will drive to our favorite pizza place and pick up the order myself. Gal at the counter LITERALLY turns around, takes FOUR steps, gets my pizza out of the warming oven and takes FOUR steps back to the counter. I put my card in the machine and click "No Tip". She gets this really pissy look on her face, but before she can say a word I put up my hand and said, "Don't bother. You did absolutely nothing worthy of a tip. Nothing. A trained monkey could have handed me a pizza".

So done with the tipping for nothing b.s.

Call your congressional representative and demand that food service workers be paid full wages.

When you slowly realize that you are getting absolutely no service, or the barest minimum, you'll change your tune. Because face it, you're not "standing up for the underpaid", you're just cheap. The shifting of a human invention (clock) to accommodate the significant natural changes in hours of daylight between seasons, especially the farther from the equator you live, makes complete sense.
