One person’s trash is another’s treasure, and the ‘Dumpster Diving’ subreddit believes it quite literally, fully embracing the saying. It’s an online community of over 130k members that’s been celebrating the cool things (including pets!) found among the trash since 2009, the year it was founded. With a tagline like ‘Fun with Garbage,’ there’s no way that somebody wouldn’t be intrigued to open the lid and take a peek at what’s going on in the group!
The folks over on r/DumsterDiving are sharing their intriguing finds, and we’ve collected some of their most interesting photos to share with you Pandas. Not only are the pics the perfect metaphor for the fact that Lady Luck can smile on you at any moment, but they’re also a reminder to protect the environment. After all, why buy something new when you can reuse a perfectly good item?

Found This Rascal Next To A Dumpster, She Made A Great Addition To The Family And Is By Far My Best Dumpster Diving Haul
You are so lucky to have found this little sweetheart and she is so lucky to have found you I hope the both have along and happy life together you deserve it. I also hope that the person who dumped her burns in Hell.
Those eyes! how could anyone leave her behind!? You can tell how thankful and full of love (and mischief!) she is towards OP. Here's hoping OP and pupper have a wonderful life together. :3
I'd dumpster dive every night if I had the possibility getting you best dumpster dive Congrats. and Thanks for not leaving the poor critter there!
I have a black garbage kitty, she's 13yrs old now. I found her in the dumpster at around 12weeks old. Best thing I ever found in the trash!
Tonight's Find
Laziness had nothing to do with it plain cruelty is what it amounts to. And you should be proud of your self for rescuing them!
Load More Replies...The last cats my family had were dumped behind some bins as kittens. They were rescued and my parents got them from the cats protection league. One of them lived to the grand age of 18
Years ago I took in a pregnant stray - who may have been dumped because she got "knocked up." She had five kittens in my bathroom cabinet. She lived to be at least 18. Rest In peace and love, Ragamuffin.
Load More Replies...Without their mother they'd have been put down. Some idiot brought me 3 kittens once who were to little to be without their mother after trying my vet office I tried the shelter they said they'd just put them down. I told then that's terrible and took them back home. I bottle fed them, washed them gently in the sink, and when they were old enough I found homes for the 2 boys. I kept the girl, she just turned 15 in June.
I hope their mama didn't just keep them next to the dumpster and is now wandering the streets searching for her babies.
Poor babies. I saved my little kitten after someone had dumped her in the woods with her siblings and mom (who was pregnant). Some people have no hearts
LIL BEANS. I hope all kittens are still ok and doing well. The risks with neonate kittens are so high. :( raising neonates is a demanding job but so worth it, if anyone ever is doing it, I suggest Kitten Lady for advice ;)
I Found Her Dumpster Diving This Morning I Was Able To Find Homes For Her Two Sisters But Nobody Wanted Her. Looks Like Now I Have A Cat
Bet she was telepathically bending peoples minds to get people to reject her. YOU're the ONE she wanted.
If I was in OPs area I'd have taken her in a heartbeat, what a sweet lil baby! Congrats on the new addition x3
She is beautiful and no one wanted her? She is beautiful and is going to be a really super adult
Find me I'll take her in a New York minute! Congratulations on keeping her!
According to The World Bank, the world generates a whopping 2.01 billion tons of municipal solid waste each year. Around a third of that isn’t dealt with in an environmentally safe manner. High-income countries might account for 16 percent of the global population, but they generate 34 percent of the total waste.
Globally, each person creates anywhere from 0.11 to 4.54 kilograms of waste each day, depending on where they live. The situation is bound to get worse as the world’s population increases and more nations become developed. By the year 2050, the amount of global waste is set to grow to 3.40 billion tonnes.
Found In The Alley. It Weighed A Million Tons, Because Those Pillars Are Real Marble
Wow! This is in great shape! (I realize it was made to last!) Great find!
You wouldn't expect something that looks so old and expensive to end up in an alley somewhere, do rich people leave Easter eggs for dumpster divers?

VERY good of you to check if she was a lost pet. A lot of people would say "I guess I have a cat now" without thinking twice about whether that cat might have an owner.
This was posted on Reddit 2 years ago. They won't see your reply.
Load More Replies...I know I say this all the time, but here is another example of why everyone should: (a) keep kitties indoors 100% of the time, and (b) get all pets microchipped. Kitties who go outdoors can get lost or be injured; they also kill huge numbers of songbirds, chipmunks and other small wild creatures - not out of meanness, but just because of their instincts, which they can't help. Then, too, if your beloved dog/cat/rabbit/etc. is microchipped, rescuers can easily reunite you should they get lost.
Absolutely. I said the same thing, and I suspect that we will both be downvoted, but I don't care. You're right. I'm right. This isn't "opinion". It's fact. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out indoor cats live 10--15 years; outdoor cats - 2-5 years. Do the math.
Load More Replies...Poor baby. Kudos to the OP for checking if she had a home, and for reuniting her. I just hope that she is back safe and happy and loved now!
My Sister had a cat that she absolutely loved so so much. She went for a wander a few months ago and hasn't been seen since. I'm sure somebody found her and kept her but my sister still misses her so much. I wish people would check that a cat is a stray and not a lost pet. We live in Ireland and we have that Facebook site where people can report lost and found cats it would be great if everyone who found a cat used it.
Should have kept her in. More likely she's dead. All sorts of predators and disease out there. Why are people all shaken and rattled when they let a cat out, and it disappears when common sense says keep them in.
Load More Replies...One of the biggest problems contributing to climate change and pollution is the massive production of single-use plastics and packaging. If products were built to be used and reused, we’d be in a far better position to deal with the climate crisis.
Greenpeace explained to Bored Panda that it’s mainly corporations that bear the biggest responsibility for changing how plastic is used and produced globally. The role of individuals is still important, however, it’s important not to lose sight of the big picture and where the biggest impact could be made.
Husband: “Honey It’s Just An Empty Case, I Am Not Climbing In For That.” Wife (Me): “Just Get In And Get It The Case Might Be Worth Something, Plus I Have A Feeling.” Who Was Right? Well It Was The Wife Of Course
That very even orange color to the body tells me this is an inexpensively made, mass produced student model. The bow, if it is wood rather than plastic, might be worth more than the violin.
Not to mention the chinrest, tailpiece, fingerboard and tuning pegs are all precisely the same reflectivity and shade of black indicated they are all the same chintzy black plastic.

In the end someone else took it, restored it and a year later he will probably sell it cause he found out it costs quite a lot! Probably i wouldn't have the money to restore it myself but still it hurts...
Judging by the blue fingering guides (?) this is likely a student violin, so maybe it isn't worth a whole lot (it depends) but still a great find!
Found This 1934 First Edition Mary Poppins In The Trash Of The Building I Work In
Great find not because of its possible worth - just because it's a book!
I have the 1962 edition on my bookshelf. Looks almost identical except it's a beige cover instead of blue. Was a birthday gift to my auntie from my great grandmother.
Looks to be 1st edition 8th printing (US) so could be worth a lot! edit: same copy on Ebay is going for $450 !
I think anyone who enjoys reading Mary Poppins is worthy of being a friend.
We Are Such A Wasteful Society, This Was Found In One Cee-Vee-Ess Dumpster
They aren't allowed to donate and they aren't supposed to allow anyone to dumpster dive for them. If anything is wrong with the candy they can still be sued even if they weren't legally bought. A few bad eggs ruined a lot of charity.
I knew someone who worked for a company that had to go pick up and dispose of items from stores. Usually the food was mislabeled and supposed to be destroyed but perfectly edible. Like they forgot MILK on the ingredients. We had a lot of snacks. You don't want to know what happens to the cleaning supplies....

This is the kind of CRAP that is destroying our beautiful planet
Stores are not allowed by law to sell expired food even if it is candy.
The only legal (USA) expiration dates are on baby food. The rest are "best buy dates" put on the manufacturer to boost sales.
Load More Replies...I used to work for Casey's, and unfortunately we were told to do that all the time. Our manager just had us all take the majority of it home and give as much away as we could, because tossing it in the dumpster was ridiculous.
A lot of supermarkets would prevent this haul from being of use for anyone by deliberately puncturing all the bags or destroying the food they are throwing away. Luckily, more and more supermarkets come around and donate their leftover or unseelable food to foodbanks.
They also do it when a product has been recalled for safety reasons, which isn't uncommon. I'm sure these are fine but I would just check before I decide to eat it.
Load More Replies...The convenience chain where my son works only sells food made that day. They donate remaining food to charity but lately no one has been picking it up so employees take it home to their families and pets.

Saved From The Landfill This Weekend!
All that thrown away makes me sad but happy that it was saved and eaten. Not wasted
That is enough to feed an army of homeless people
Load More Replies...With all the food banks around, how can someone throw this much food away and still sleep at night?
One of my old employers had an in business store for employees. They sold possible neccesities, gifts and food. At the end of each day the owners made the sales clerks throw out everything edible whether it was past the sell by date or not. Boxes and BOXES of prepacked sandwiches juice/milk bottles and fresh (completely unblemished) fruit just thrown out. We tried to lobby to get permission to take it to a homeless shelter. The answer was no because they didn't want to be liable. Didn't take us long to say f**k em and do it anyway. Got caught. Got fired. But for a few glorious weeks that homeless shelter was a fricken party at dinner time. 10/10 would do again.

I've worked in restaurants: it's entirely possible those 'perfectly good' fruits and vegetables were tossed b/c they had liquid from chicken or pork contaminate them, possibly with extremely unpleasant food poisoning.
Would love to know the story... these foods look fine to sell so not sure they would end up in landfill in my country...more info...pls....
The sad reality is that until government makes donating financially more rewarding than write-off as loss (= throw in trash to destroy) the companies never will stop doing this. They literally get tax reduction for the amount the thrown in trash goods are worth at their cost of production or purchase while donating isn’t tax deductible. For example when a factory produces more than planned for the day they literally throw the over-production in the trash and write it off as a loss and the tax reduction gets them the cost of production back. Make donating the extra the financially interesting choice and turn binning into a cost and it will augment the charitable stance of companies. My brother drove the dumpster truck for a while. They cannot save even 1 pack of discarded same day produced Kelloghs for example because the company must destroy the goods to receive the tax reduction. My brother quit his job as it’s heartbreaking knowing this compared to how many people in need there are…

“As it stands, plastic production could double within the next 10-15 years, and triple by 2050. This is alarming, especially if we are to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees. Plastic is an important part of moving away from fossil fuels, combating climate change, and protecting communities."

Found This Beauty In A Jewelry Box Mixed In With A Bunch Of Fake Jewelry. 14k Yellow Gold, With A 1k Tanzanite Gem In The Middle, Surrounded By 23 Genuine Baguette Diamonds. Having It Appraised In 2 Days
Hold onto that sucker until you get a really good price! Tanzanite is increasing in value, has been for some years. Apparently the existing mine or mines are played out, and nobody's found a new source in a long time, so the gems are gaining value because people are realizing how scarce they are.
Yes and no. 24 June 2020, a new record for the world's largest rough tanzanite was set after a small-scale miner, Mr. Saniniu Laizer, mined two stones of 9.72 kg (21.4 lb) and 5.1 kg (11 lb) and sold them to the Government of Tanzania through Ministry of Mining for 7.74 bn Tanzanian shillings (US$3.35 mn) surpassing a record of 16,839 carats (3.37 kg; 7.42 lb) stone mined by TanzaniteOne in 2005. Total reserves of tanzanite are estimated at 109,000,000 carats (21,800 kg; 48,100 lb), according to a report published in 2018. Block C, by far the largest site, has been estimated at 87,100,000 carats (17,400 kg; 38,400 lb) with a Life of Mine (LOM) expected to last until the 2040s.

Unfortunately they aren't terribly practical anymore. I have a 1929 singer portable that was converted to electric power sometime in the 1930s. It works fine, and I do use it, but a straight-stitch machine is very limiting in the types of things you can make, and the fabrics you can use.
Load More Replies...We have same exact machine/cabinet. Ours is in perfect working condition and actually sews great. They were definitely more sturdy than new models of machines. They were made to last. Ours has original accessories kit (green box with zipper foot, bobbins, etc) and we even have the instruction booklet it came with. It was my husbands great grandmas machine she used to sew on.
My grandma left me hers when she died and it's fabulous. Still works perfectly, too!
My Grandmother threw her's away, she was a selfish 'person'

We have the same exact one. It works perfectly & it still has all original accessories & paperwork. It was my husbands great grandmas machine she used to sew on. Its our prize possession. The item itself is not extremely valuable as there was many made, but most do not work or have complete accessories.
I have one of these. With the right needle, you can sew leather. I have saved a lot of leather jackets, belts and pants with this. Can't imagine how many garments have been made on this wonderful invention!
It’s Amazing What People Will Throw Away. Late 1960s Schwinn ‘Fair Lady’ Cruiser. My Wife Needed A Bike And Absolutely Loves It!
I had a bike just like that when I was a kid, and at that exact time in history. Mine was also yellow, but the banana seat was black and yellow and I had a white basket in front. Plus, straws on the spokes (multi-colored, cut about and inch or two, slit, and arranged on the spokes like a sunburst) and a baseball card attached to make it sound like an engine when the wheels were spinning.
I remember this “ banana bike “ my lil brother wanted a bike so bad, my dad found this for him , fixed / cleaned it up real nice, he didn’t want it because he was embarrassed( he wanted them dmx bikes) until all the girls on the block wanted to borrow it, of course it was his favorite bike then
These bike are so coming back in to style. Well anything retro for that matter. This is great.
Banana seat, those high handlebars, sissy bar....those were great bikes! I love hearing they're coming back!

Much better than the glass. I am no fan of glass or mirror top furniture. It’s a pain in the ass to clean, especially in the corners, shows dust and fingerprints immediately, and can break way too easily. Plus I think it’s tacky—-probably because it was too popular, so too common, and there were too many cheap knockoffs around when I was younger. So, with that much over-saturation, I just had more than enough of it, and my opinion hasn’t changed in forty years.
Even though i like glass furniture they are indeed not practical!! Good thing is that i realised that when renting so i didn't bother buying any glass furniture in my own apartment

When I was growing up we too had two TVs stacked like this. The bottom was a fancy 19" color TV cabinet that had no sound. On top was a 9" B/W from the thrift store that the V-Hold was broken but the sound worked fine. The kids were the remote and we all learned how to turn both dials at the same time so dad could switch between football games. It may sound horrible but the memories are nothing but warm fuzzies for me.
My family had a similar TV console growing up. My dad pulled out the TV tube and all of the rest of the guts and re-lined it. He made it into a liquor cabinet!
We had a version of this in our house when I was growing up, though ours wasn’t as wide. This one’s credenza-sized. I’d say it’s probably late sixties vintage, possibly very early seventies (‘71 or ‘72 at the latest).
Drove Around Picking Up Pallets People No Longer Wanted And Made Myself A Headboard Out Of Them
You would pay a pretty penny for a handmade wood headboard like this. Just a suggestion for a side business if you ever need to make a bundle of extra cash.
Those pallets have been used and re-used, chemicals spilled all over them, for years, and now they're right next to your head.
I would rather be afraid of all the mold they have accumulated. Those wooden pallets are usually for transporting dry goods, so the chemicals wouldn't be such a problem. But I've seen so much mold on them in my life.
Load More Replies...Careful of all the toxic chemicals used to preserve pallets...or spilt on them!!
People keep saying this, but it just isn't true. The only "toxic chemical" ever used for treating pallets was Methyl Bromide, and it was outlawed more than 15 years ago. Every pallet is stamped, and that stamp contains who made it, and what treatment method was employed in rendering it insect-free. 99% of pallets you'd find out and about are marked "HT" They were treated by blasting them with heat in an oven. They are perfectly fine. The only ones to be leery of are any with stains on them.

Fabric/sewing scissors. It's a super common design and not really worth keeping if you don't have a use for them.
What's the point of discounting someone else's find just because they saw beauty in a common object? My favorite aunt had a pair of these 60 years ago and I always thought they were marvelous; I loved seeing them here!
These "stork" scissors were invented by midwives in the mid 1800s to cut umbilical cords. That little dip in the neck was for wrapping the cord before snipping farther down. They were then embraced by embroiderers and seamstresses because the shape is perfect for cutting cloth.
I have two pairs of these, they're sewing / embroidery scissors 😅 maybe the ones on the photo are vintage or sth but mine were super cheap from a fabric store.

I read an article not too long ago that spoke on the fact that many items considered past their "sell by" or "best by" dates, are quite safe to eat. Especially canned foods which as long as they're not rusted or dented, are fine for years past those dates. However, in the attempt to get people to throw it out and buy more, they use these dates.

Why Would Someone Throw This Away??
I think a lot of these finds were dumped by burglars who wanted big ticket items to fence.
I was just going to type that. I used to live in back of a row of businesses that were closed all weekend and many of the dumpsters were used as drug drop off points, stolen goods drop off points, people would steal purses, wallets, loot cars, and just throw the stuff away. Just be careful if you find something wonderful like this. It might be stolen and someone might be watching to see who picks it up.

Socks are one of the most sought after items at homeless shelters too. They could have even reached out to a local shelter and I'm positive someone would have picked them up if they were too effing lazy to drop them off. That's just evil to me.
This bothers me so much... the colossal waste, when there are people in need of these items.
I don't understand why non perishable items that aren't damaged don't just go in the sale.
Even if you mark them down and the shop has already payed for the item, putting them on sale isn't free, and therefore not always the most profitable model. The production cost is only a small part of the real cost of selling an item. You also have to pay for the stockpiling of the item, and for the staff to put it on display, guide the potential buyer, and handle the item during the selling process and perhaps also if it is being returned. All that cost time and money that potentionall could be spend on another product with at higher profit margin. Hence the best option can sometimes be to just cut the losses and move on, instead of trying to squeeze the last penny possible out of an unpopular item.
Load More Replies...WHY??!!??! It would have taken 1 quick phone call to a local charity of any kind to come pick it up. Man…. This hurts my heart.
It's problematic when you start underbidding your own marked by giving something away. Some highend brands' entire business model is based on their items becoming atractive since they are a way to show off how much money you have. If such products became cheaply available, e.g. by giveaways of unsellable items, their percieved value would plummit. Itwould hurt the business as it would no longer be able to charge premium prices. Likewise if they happen to produce items with minor cosmetic faults, it is important that those are removed from circulation to secure the qualtiy associated with the product will not suffer. Hence some companies actively destroy unsellable products instead of just giving them away or even allow someone to rescue them from their dumpsters. This is a sad sideeffect of the fact that the interests of a business and society does not always line up under a capitalistic system, and the free marked may therefore end up generating problems instead of solving them.

When I get a gift card (even if it has the value written on the actual card, particularly if it doesn't) I write the remaining balance on a small post-it that I stick on the front of the card. Where I live gift cards aren't legally allowed to have an expiry date anymore and can be refilled (usually). This is a recent change and I am super glad it happened. I used to use up a gift card and the cashier would keep the card and I would have to ask for it back because they didn't always know you could reload it. Train your cashiers to know this stores!
Maybe whoever threw them out figured they had little value on them and didn't know how to check the balance (maybe they aren't tech savvy or don't have access to a computer or don't know how to look up the balance and didn't feel like calling the number on the back - if there was one) so they didn't see the point. I cry in agony when I see books in the dumpster on this post, why do people do that?
I know this is off-topic, but I just finished watching a true-crime YT video about this hiker who's hike-name (nickname that hikers use) was Mostly Harmless. The weird part was no one knew who he was. Like, at all.

Once Again! I Am Saddened By This, But What’s Really Sad, Is Others Might Say “I’m Gross To Take Stuff Out Of A Dumpster” All The While I’m Thinking, “No The System Is Gross That I Even Have To”
While, normally I agree with not wasting stuff, this could because there was a recall on it or something was wrong that they needed to throw it out.
Usually when things get mass tossed like this it's because they over-ordered that product and it went past it's best by date before being bought. Most things past their best by date are perfectly fine for quite a while afterwords, but stores can't sell them since their considered to be expired

Our Assistant Manager suggested we donate the food to a local shelter before it warmed up too much. He was immediately shot down and we were told to throw it all out. It was still within a safe temperature, in fact, still frozen. But they wouldn't take the risk that a hungry homeless person would sue them if something was off. It was disgusting and painful to have to put it all in the trash compacter.

Pulled A Fully Functional 3D Printer While It Was Raining. All It Needed Was New Filament. One Of The Best Things I've Ever Found
Maybe it ran out of filament and he assumed it was like inkjet printers, meaning it was cheaper to just buy a new one than getting more "ink". I lived with the same guy for 3 years in college and we picked up a used dishwasher together when we first moved in. When graduation started coming near, we began arguing over who got to keep it. Final solution was we gave it to his mom. She had raised 7 kids with some of them in their mid 30s now without every having one. His mom still makes him a special meal every spring to thank him.
I Go To A Private School, And Many Students Are Very Rich And Very Wasteful. I Found Everything I Am Wearing In The Trash At The End Of The Semester (& Like Half My Closet Lol)
Good for you! But don't they comment on your clothes, like "Hey, that looks like something I was wearing last semester!"? Or won't they recognize their clothes? (genuinely interested)
Chances are that they do not even remember what clothes they had last month, let alone last semester.
Load More Replies...I always attended classes year round so the end of spring semester was a goldmine. So much was left behind a small industry was built around it in the town. Most leases were 9 months and ended the day after graduation. A couple days later, landlords would hire students staying for the summer to clean out the places and put everything on the lawn. Part of the pay was you got to keep anything you wanted. I got everything from unopened liquor and food to rifles, sectional furniture, and computers. There were multiple shops in town that had warehouses and they'd cruise town with trucks and buy pretty much everything usable for ridiculous prices (I'll take all the furniture for $100, all the coats for $30, $20 for that kegerator, and $20 for the video game system with all the games). They'd then sell what they got to the stores that couldn't afford warehouses. Come August, all of them would sell all the "trash" back to the next bunch of kids moving in.
Hey, if you’re going to dumpster dive, you may as well do it in the best neighborhoods in town—-I mean, just imagine the quality of THAT trash! Imagine the treasures one-percenters throw in Park Avenue or Rodeo Drive dumpsters!
The college students at the end of the year threw everything out the windows and the stuff was fair game, got a coat and it had 5 dollars in it.

A lot of companies set it way ahead of the actual date because of liability, but then the store has to throw it out because they obviously can't sell it anymore. My husband is a master at this. He’s in pest control, and I can’t tell you how much stuff customers were throwing out and let him have over the years. Because of his ability to take things apart, clean them up, diagnose the problem, order replacement parts, and put them back together, he has gotten a bunch of FREE stuff: a nice table saw with extra pattern plates (only used twice before it stopped working), leaf blower, trunk-sized gas generator, one of those old-fashioned barn fans and a similar vintage barn heater, and various kinds of power tools. He’s also gotten old furniture that he refinished, and is now in our house. Amazing how some people just throw things out that still have lots of life and use left in them!
People throwing away fixable electrionics seems so weird and stupid, but I think we've all been brainwashed by producers in thinking that when it's broken it can't be repaired or it''s too expensive to do so and therefore it's cheaper to buy knew stuff.
You don't even really need to be a technical person to diagnose the problem. 80% of issues can be figured out with your nose and your eyes (and screwdrivers), most of the time you can get lucky.

We Stopped By Krispy Kreme Dumpster Just For The Hell Of It. None Of These Were Out Of Date. We Got A Little Too Excited
Valentines day: a great excuse to make loads of pink food and then bin it the next day
Found This Mint-Condition Ti-83 Plus At The Dump Yesterday. Still Costs $140 On Amazon!
If you are the type of person who wants one of these, you are the type to figure out how to program it. These are the babies of the numberphile. A 'normal' person taking HS math can get a lower end model that will do everything they want for $10-20.

Some Rich, Wasteful Exchange Students By My Boyfriend Moved Out... And Just Left Nearly All Their Stuff Out On The Curb. We Went Wild!
I find it disturbing that people assume others are rich, when in fact it is the opposite. Has it occurred to them, that there was either no room left to take the stuff, or they did not have the money to pay for a heavier bag at airport?
People who aren't rich generally don't own that many pairs of shoes, FYI.

They didn't even bother to pop them? Plus balloons are rubber and can actually be composted if I remember correctly.
Curb Side Find! Found Next To A Restaurant Dumpster While On A Run. Hid It In A Bush And Came Back For It An Hour And A Half Later! Probably Not Worth Much But I’m So Excited To Look Through These Legos!
There are many great things I love about legos but my favorite is how they are constantly innovating while respecting their past. You can add that lego window your grandma had when she was a kid to your Hogwarts castle kit. Because they've been around so long, its also a toy almost any kid can have because every thrift store in the world has bucket for sale super-cheap.
Load More Replies...Oh my god I would love those. I have way too many but you can’t have enough legos!
My mum works on a college for the army and on one of the weeks we’re they were graduating she saw a full Lego millennium Falcon that was just chucked out because they no longer wanted it and that wasn’t the best thing people recycled that week either

Found A Wii System In A Shoebox Along With A 26" Hd Vizio TV
I found a three-drawer plastic cabinet full of (extremely gross) Wii games, eventually I'll work up the courage to wash them and find them a new home.

I know a few bakeries, including a Krispy Kreme, that laces throw aways like this in poison so rats don't have a party. Beware
Found Her Head Peaking Out Of The Dumpster Across The Street
These are great for harmless practical jokes. I worked in a Blockbuster back in the day and we'd get the old displays. No matter how much you love Brittany, no one expects to meet her when they pop into the bathroom during a commercial break. I got myself after putting a Meg Ryan in the driver's seat of my girlfriend's car and forgetting it the next morning when she sent me out for coffee.
why do some people throw clothes, that are perfectly fine, away instead of donating them? or animals? what the f*ck is wrong with people? whenever i don't want/need something anymore i put it on the streetcorner so somebody else could have it. and when i think something is broken, i bring it to a facility where they recycle those things..
There is no answer to what kind of cruel creature could put animals in dumpsters. About the clothes, most charities in the US stopped accepting clothes during the pandemic.

First off, how DARE these people throw away ANIMALS?! Like, what?! Secondly, I am disgusted with how wasteful people can be. There need to be laws against wasting so much food and stuff! Lastly, I think I'm going to start dumpster diving! I want to find a cat, or a violin, or a ring, or an antique piece of furniture, or an old gaming system, etc.
Also I need to know where these people are dumpster diving because I've only ever seen trash in the dumpsters I've seen

I don't feel like delivering it to family if they want it bc I'm the only one w a truck and I don't want to deal w Craig's list or whatever other app. It's going on my curb w a free poster. Hope someone else loves it. My road doesn't get too much traffic so I hope someone takes it
Leather isn't comfy or uncomfy, it's what's below it. I get what you mean though, even the most expensive couch can feel uncomfortable if it doesn't support you where you want supporting
Load More Replies...I don't think items found in a dumpster are in the same category as on the curb or next to the dumpster. Dumpster items were totally meant to be be thrown out, but curb items are often there to be picked up by someone else who can use the item. We put these types of items (chairs, tomato cages, spool of chicken wire, electric mixer...) out early before trash in the hopes that someone will be able to use them. I'm sure many people do this.
We call this "curbside recovery" in my house. FYI, always ask a secondhand furniture store where they got the furniture. Odds are it was "curbside recovery" on graduation week at the university up the road.
In my country somehow you can sometimes find some books, other than that no treasures. Once I even spoke to some frequent homeless guy, which is experienced a bit and he told me that nothing valuable was ever found by him. He just picks cans and some metal trash and occasionally some dishes or something he needs, but most of all spoiled food, broken furniture, electronics beyond repair. I think we are much more poor nation :(
Makes me both sad AND angry! Why isn't there an English word for the emotion that mixes anger with sorrow?
