If you think that fashion is a young man's game then take a look at these pictures to see how wrong you are.
They're part of a series called "Advanced Style: Older and Wiser" and the man behind the camera is Ari Seth Cohen. The photographer travelled the world, visiting countries including South Africa, Sweden, Italy and Australia, in order to prove that style has nothing to do with age and everything to do with attitude. All of his subjects are 60+ years of age, but we're sure you'll agree that it isn't their years that these photographs highlight but their impeccable sense of style.
The photographer has recently released a book showcasing his best pictures. It's available to buy here.

I want to be like this beautful lady When I get older and wiser x
Then that's a marvelously fit and pretty pooch with her.
Load More Replies...These models are beautiful, but thin, most people over 65 are overweight
The petticoat, blooming bag, wicked ankle-straps, picture hat ... BAM! Gorgeous.
Tall and very slim. Not like most seniors. She does look beautiful though ????.
Would love to hang out with this guy! Bet he's got some stories to tell
No it's not Jenny Kee! But both ladies are very cool :)
Load More Replies...Love the newsprint jacket paired with drop earrings that look like comic strip decoupage.
With that coat you always have something to read while waiting in the doctor's office. LOL
Living the dream... how we all want to end our days... Lovely leathergoods, great pins too xx
Those clothes would upstage anyone else--younger or older. She looks like we just happened to catch her between tennis lesson, painting class, volunteering at a women's shelter, and meeting her best friends for drinks.
Phenomenal. If you cant use youth and beauty, use style and impact. Very strong.
I guess it's way easier to be stylish when you have the money to buy designer clothes :P
I'm glad they included the men. I like all of them.
Load More Replies...If that’s Vivienne Westwood then that’s a nice look for her she usually dresses horribly. Which I don’t get because she makes beautiful clothes. It’s a head scratcher.
Load More Replies...I think it would be ultimately kewl to see her walking down 5th Ave!
Valerie Von Sobel is her name. She runs a wonderful foundation and lives in LA
Load More Replies...at first because of the hair and those glasses i thought she was a boy
I love everything here but the dress. It looks like it's made from cloth napkins...
Love the look. The hat reminds me of a dandelion ready to blow the seeds....
And some people say pink is for only girls. And here totally rocks in it.
Pink was originally only for men, as it was said to resemble the stains a man could have on him after battle. Blue was meant only for women, as it was thought dainty and reminded people of flowers. In the late 1800s, clothing companies started warring with each other, trying to decide once and for all what was for boys and what was for girls. Needless to say, it wasn't "settled" until near the middle of the 20th Century. Hell, "manly" men who went on to become revered U.S. Presidents back then had pictures of them wearing pink dresses as babies. It's hilarious how people now put so much "gender" emphasis on something that started as a marketing ploy...
Load More Replies...Disproving that ridiculous myth that older women shouldn't have long hair down
A bunch of older people I know have long white hair and they all make it look super amazing.
Load More Replies...This is the same lady who was wearing the Adidas high tops. I think she is beautiful and in such great shape. She looks like she does yoga as she is toned but not too muscly. I wonder who she is???
Her name is Sarah Jane Adams, and she recently signed with Grey Model Agency in New York
Load More Replies...This beautiful lady listened when we told her to stay out of the sun...perfect skin!
That moment when an elderly woman is fitter than you...what's your excuse?
A fusion of classy with accents of pizzazz!! This is a lovely stylish couple!
OMG, they have to be going to a Haloween party. At least the 3 on the left. But the outfit on the right is ME.
Another nice looking outfit. I would definitely wear something like this.
Well those question marks were supposed to be <3. Bored Panda doesn't like emojis. I need those shoes in my life.
Load More Replies...some of these ladies would have nailed it with a little editing . Like those shoes are killer but with that bag and earrings and shirt no . Just my opinion though .
Ditch that jacket as men in flowers don't do a thing for any ladies. But like the rest.
I think it's part of the dress itself look at the shoulders
Load More Replies...This is the only outfit in the whole bunch that makes sense. Well kinda maybe.
I like the "neckpiece" the best! Also, she looks magnificent; wish I had her legs :D
Full marks for the necklace, think how much better with 3/4 or elbow sleeves.
Her hair is really pretty; most blues or purples turn an unpleasant shade of grey. Not the "stylish" type.
No no no! There's a difference between being stylish and chic and just look like you worked on a strip club all your life - and never retired....
MAGNIFICENT! Not many people could rock this, but I think she does.
Love the vibrant colors, but could never get away with the yellow. Washes me out or something; not a good look on me, sigh.
I admit I couldn't carry off the hat in a million years, but it's cool.
ya gotta be kiddin. I would never go out in public looking like that or my friends would have me committed. I am a stylish senior and not a bag lady.
I adore her unposed attitude and outfit that looks genuine, not like it'd been styled by a professional. Pretty gal, too!
love those boots! this was her style before "the young people" started wearing it. if she wants to tigger, let her. who doesn't love tigger?
green's one of the most difficult colours to wear... expecially when that bright, definitely not for everyone. she's rockin'it
Lovely. Sadly, I'd be the one ripping the sleeves right out the door...
So, how do you know she's not sporting money too?
Load More Replies...I probably couldn't keep the scarf on, as I have scoliosis, but Love the Look!
Are you this rude and negative in real life, or just on the internet?
Load More Replies...These women are friends of mine, and are absolutely delightful. They have fun with their clothing, and don't make negative remarks about people who don't dress like them.
I couldn't carry off any of the hats but love the combination of styles!
Sorry, it wasn't, that's a Vlisco print, made in Holland and something I liked very much. Boght it and had it custom made. You women are very catty. Pity you for being so mean.
Load More Replies...I agree that the hat detracts somewhat from the ensemble, but it's still striking.
Load More Replies...I'd really like to see this suit with a navy fedora; bet it would be amazing!
Load More Replies...It's not about whether you like it or not ... it's about style and obviously the winner of the cats playing with ball of yarn t-shirt goes to Elizabeth Gorman
Nah, that's just the reflection of your small mind.
Load More Replies...A bit too much black for me, but if it's her style, it's her style.
Stunning once again! The contrasting fan & bag are perfect accents.
What on here do you like? It's sad to read so many unkind comments.
Load More Replies...The glasses freak me out a bit, but hey, I'm not wearing them.
awesome jacket! love the attitude of her pose. beautiful and classy
It doesn't even have anything to do with this picture!
Load More Replies...The Queen of England should look up this lady and have herself re-looked. Much more fun than her actual look.
The Queen of England has always been an old bore...Stylishly speaking
Load More Replies...I think she would look much more beautiful if she would smile in one of these pics. Before you say it, I know, she is supposed to look tough in this one. But darn, I would like to see a smile.
Why do you bother looking and commenting, if you hate these pictures so much?
Load More Replies...do your thang girl! i love the earrings and bracelets. not the combo i would choose, but she is doing HER thing.
She reminds me of Anna Piaggi...Style is not caring about what people think or what the fashion norms are .....it's becoming art and to make you smile
I get a kick out of what must be eyeglass cases as her necklace!
Why don't you just go take your rude comments somewhere else?
Load More Replies...Are they real people walking down the street or model and designers? I love the Chanel lady in the wheel chair!!
Every single one of them....Beautiful! Love the clothes. Love the style.
Amen to that. I'm 74 and still rockin' (and I don't mean in a chair on the porch!)
Load More Replies...Www.advanced.style is where you need to go for more inspiring pics. The author has 2 books out on the subject of stylish seniors!!!
