Today's world is practically bursting with high-quality TV series; captivating plots, stunning camerawork and those exciting yet sleepless nights that the shows are eagerly awaiting to bring upon you.
There are a million reasons why folks enjoy spending their free time diving into those fictional worlds – however, the main one probably lies within the comfort. You get to escape the big harsh reality, turn your mind off and dedicate a few hours (or weeks even) to exploring a contrasting take on life that the imaginary characters are going through.
Stranger Things, a horror hit that has been impressing fellow TV show lovers since 2016, has recently blessed the viewers with its 4th season, and to celebrate the occasion, Bored Panda has gathered a couple of memes and reactions dedicated to the premiere.

I watched that scene twice then told my mom about it and we watched it together. It was awesome 🤷♀️🤣🤣
For those who are not yet familiar with the show, Stranger Things is a sci-fi horror drama created by the Duffer Brothers; the duo consists of Matt and Ross Duffer, who are American film and TV writers, directors and producers who have created several short films, directed a post-apocalyptic psychological thriller film called Hidden and wrote and produced episodes for Wayward Pines.
Stranger Things, the phenomenal television series that managed to impress the whole world, was released on July 15, 2016. The show sparked a storm of emotions among the Netflix viewers and has truly become one of the most binge-worthy shows on the platform.
I really hope they decide to do a weekly release for s5. Yes, I know everyone would be crying over the cliffhangers it inevitably will have, but otherwise we’ll just wait probably 2-3 years, again, just to finish it in one day. And then it will just be over. I feel like it would be better if like everyone could watch and react to it live in unison, rather then just binging the end in a day.
I actually showed some self-control and finished in a week instead of one day this time and I was proud of myself...until I realized that we would have to wait a month for part two
And after watching it all in one.day we are all now waiting for the last 2 episodes like 😭
The storyline takes place in Indiana in the 1980s, where a small fictional rural town called Hawkins gets bombarded with unfortunate news; a boy suddenly goes missing, turning the whole place upside down. The disappearance then starts a chain of events, where one thing leads to another, and we finally meet the star of the show – a little girl with a shaved head and a "011" marking on her wrist.
The Duffer brothers paid exceptional attention to the details and the fans are obsessed with the '80s nostalgia of the show. Another draw is the young cast consisting of 12-year-old nerdy boys who, in reality, bring a ton of maturity with their deeply written roles.
Jamie Campbell Bower did such an amazing job and I love the fact that in his backstory he was always the bad guy and not some kid who has been through tough times and mistreated by family and society and that's why hates the world.
His entire 'monologue' where he described what he felt about people, society, rules, etc... I was sitting there thinking "Preach, brother!" Luckily for y'all, I don't have massive telekinetic mind powers. ;)
Load More Replies...That's what it is! I couldn't put my finger on it, why I loved Eddie so much. He is like a young RDJ!
Load More Replies...Apparently they shot the trailer bit before they did this scene and after they did and saw their chem, they were like Oop-
bro tbh Joseph and Grace would be such a cute couple their perfect together.
Let's not forget the true superstar of the TV series – the banging soundtrack. Throughout the seasons the viewers have been blessed with the most outstanding songs from Toto's "Africa" to Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill". The majority will agree that the Duffer brothers' music choice has, without a doubt, added a certain charm to the Netflix series and made the whole picture seem exceptionally upbeat, hyped and simply complete.
Steve wasn't struggling with dating. It is that he was struggling to find a girl he had a true connection with in his small town. There is Robin, who is gay and Nancy is with someone else. Most of the girls with any depth had already moved on to college.
Yeah, he's not struggling to find a girlfriend, he's struggling to find love. He literally says as much, explicitly, at leat once.
Load More Replies...No, the most unrealistic thing was Fred immediately finding his glasses in a dark grave.
Bisexuality is having a crush on both Steve and Robin.
Not anymore though, s4 he had a bunch of dates after he finally got over Nancy and got his confidence back
What's more is that the show is very inviting and is able to reach a wider audience with its multi-genre storyline. Though it is officially classified as a "horror drama", the series touches on a variety of categories such as adventure, conspiracy and, of course, that good old coming-of-age narrative. Thanks to the Duffer brothers and their ability to blend the genres together and create such an engaging twist, Stranger Things is watched by those who aren't normally interested in such a genre.
I loved when Eddie told Steve that Dustin constantly speaks so highly of him 🥰
Me neither, I was watching the show with my mom, when asks me what is my favorite song, I realized that it changes practically everyday
Load More Replies...I have so many it would literally be "whatever I've got downloaded." Personally I would choose Rage Against The Machine... either Wake Up (where Zach de la Rocha literally screams "wake up"), or Bulls On Parade. I think I'd do well with "f**k you I won't do what you tell me" blasting in my ears.
Aside from all the exciting details that make Stranger Things so lovable, the thing that truly differentiates the show from any other is the unique connection that the main characters have. The group dynamic that is portrayed throughout the series is heartwarming and very committed, though the seriousness of the bond doesn't stop the friends from making the audience laugh.
Yes!! And I can't find a song if my life depended on it. There's no way my friends are going to know when I don't know.
Play Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up." Vecna would explode.
Load More Replies...Is it just me or someone else also has this another issue of having no frineds , apart from not being able to decide a life saving song !?? 🙄😭
Let's take a side character with basically no contribution to the plot, and just because they can, make him a fascinating, contradicting and almost tragic character. Well done!
I liked that character right away. He was new to the show, though, so I was worried they would kill him off...
If you're still feeling hesitant and you're not sure whether you're ready to commit yourself to the four-season-long binge-watching marathon of Stranger Things, Bored Panda hopes that this ensemble of random reactions will guide you to the right path.
Booo! No! She's the Scrappy Doo of the show and the writers wore out her welcome last season.
Agreed. She is unconvincing as a character. She is one dimensional: her entire personality consists of having a quick sass-mouth with no nuance.
Load More Replies...Are we gonna do this or are we gonna keep chitchatting like it's your mommy's book club?
Which is how I felt about Lucas the first season. At least Erica is funny.
Load More Replies...🎶🎶I don't like this Chrissy wake up🎶🎶🎶 Time to wake up, time to wake up🎶🎶🎶...
Chill we were all latch key kids in the 80's and everything was fine. Kinda.
Load More Replies...it was the 80's...none of our parents knew where we were or what we were doing
Yeah but seriously, how did Joyce and hopper know that they were back in Hawkins?
They mean that when they started watching, they were those kids ages, but they took so long to release each season 😂
Load More Replies...That one kid in the back kinda looks like will because he has a bowl cut
I ship them so damn hard. <3 (even though I know its unlikely, and if Nancy doesn't end up with Johnathan its gonna be Steve BUT I CAN HAVE DREAMS DAMMIT)
The story arc from steal-your-virginity-then-dump-you a*****e to women-and youth-respecting caretaker with self respect. Sometimes best character development is accidental.
He didn't dump her. She broke up with him. Steve Harrington is, and always will be, PERFECT!!!!! 😍
Load More Replies...They actually didn't. He was originally supposed to be the Billy and get killed off in the 1st or 2nd season but Joe Keery was too likable so they gave him a redemption arc and kept him around instead 😁😁
Thank you Joe Keery for so likeable and loveable that they kept steve.
I don't think the Duffer Bros. did anything accidental. They wrote one tight a*s story.
He played Victor Creel (the old man in the psych centre)
Load More Replies...You think Vecna is evil? Imagine introducing Lolth as the final boss in Season 5...blood bath...
Yup! Also why are you crying it’s just a little fire…it could be Vecna
She doesn’t realize because she’s watching the scene where the baby is on fire :)
Told my daughter to tell everyone I'm sick and to leave me be unless the house is on fire and you can't find the extinguisher.
Vecna is by far my favorite Stranger Things villain, he has a depth of character and isn't just a mindless or hollow killing machine, he has a purpose and is clever while being the most terrifying thing to grace my television screen.
still kinda sad after learning that suzie got screen timed
Load More Replies...Love Kate Bush, am glad that through stranger things, people who may not have heard of her are going to get to enjoy her music.
It’s re-entered the UK Charts! She gave her permission to use it as she’s a massive fan of the show.
that was the best backstory explanation ever: 001 telling 011 his story while nancy goes through victors home and learing about what happened to vecna while in the upside down being shown it by vecna himself. also that one scene where el and 001 put their wrists by each other, where i instantly thought "im the 1 to your 0. 001 probably"
Load More Replies...Also... the videocam in that one scene at the roller rink... 22 March. THAT'S WILLS FCKING BIRTHDAY AND MIKE IGNORED HIM. (ok, they said that was a mistake, but still, it would be close to Wills bday ) Seriously, Mike is my least favourite character he's just so annoying pining after El all the time like its his only character trait ffs.
TIL: All the Joppers I've seen are not typos,,,it's Joyce + Hopper. Thank you internet for clearing it up
why is it his last name and her first name though
Load More Replies...Yo, I sat down and did the math this season only to realize that according to the timeline they graduate high school like 2-4 years before me just messed me all up. So in the show, I’m like Erica’s age 🙍♀️
I had to hide behind my fingers for some of episode 1! Much scarier than previous seasons. Season 4 is so crammed with characters that the storyline is a bit too fragmented to me. I’m getting tired of El’s story and she was my favourite character previously. Having said that, it’s still fantastic and much better than the usual dross on tv.
FUNNY SOTRY: i came across this yesterday, when i was halfway through episode 4. i then realized that this could probably contain spoilers, so i binged the rest of the show with my beats at half charge (i was wearing them connected to our apple tv so my sisters couldnt hear me, who have finished already). i finished the series with them at like 5-10% remaining. fost forward to today, my beats are charged and here i am.
Did anyone else have problems seeing things? Literally, cos the some scenes were soooo dark, as in all tv just black with barely anything watchable? My tv isn't the most expensive one, but it's still good, I thought.
I have no stake in Stranger Things whatsoever. Partly because I'm a coward and Scary Show is Scary, but I just happen to miss hype trains a lot. I did see the clip with the one character trying to escape Vecna's grasp though (and they cut it so you don't know what happens from it, which is great), and holy cow. Holy. Cow. Phenomenally well orchestrated, and Vecna's makeup is seriously impressive. I have no info about him but I love what I see. To know he is just as compelling, and evil, as I've been given the impression of just from that clip is cool.
Why not? It's a closed prison. And in the 80s it was technically in USSR, so it looks similar to what one might see in Russian prison. And Lithuania got money and movie industry publicity for this. Was it also inappropriate to film Chernobyl in the same city (Vilnius)?
