Hers is actually a revoltingly evil story, that gets fetishized and popularized because the idea of a predatory same-sex-oriented sadist gets a certain kind of person hot under the collar. There's some dispute as to whether or not she was even the kind of killer she was made out to be, as there was considerable political drama around the acquisition of her holdings.
