There are many reasons why one might enjoy a good horror story. One, for example, is the adrenaline rush after being scared. The other is that some of us like to experience overwhelming, complex emotions. It also helps that the scary stories aren't happening to you, so you can still feel relatively safe while experiencing them.

True story, my dad used to live at a lake, and right across from his house, there was a summer camp. Every year, kids would go canoeing in the morning. And every time, one of them wouldn’t bring a life jacket. The boat would tip over, and only the one with the life jacket would come back. Years later, these people were scuba diving; and when they got to the bottom, there were dead bodies EVERYWHERE. They cleaned out the lake, so it’s fine now.

i remember i was staying at my aunt s house and its known for its ghosts and weird stuff happning there anyway i was young and i dont know why but i didnt feel scared at all when i was there so it was ramdan so everyone was fasting meaning we dont eat or drink anything from sunrise till sunset so i was watching youtube and everyone was sleeping it was around 8 am then i heard somerthing in the kitchen do you know when you put your cup in the kitchen counter it makes a noise that was what i heard i didnt take it seriously at first but then i heard the fridge open and something pure like when you pure water to a cup so me being dumb wanted to catch whoever was eating in ramadan the thing is the room i was sleeping in was right next to the kitchen so if anyone was there he had to pass the room i was sleeping in to go to the other rooms and how would i know its beacouse my bed was in front of the door so i went to the kitchen and no one was there no cup nothing the thing is if it was

Something similar happened to friend who was living on 5th floor. He came home, took off his pants, smoked a joint and suddenly he saw guy outside. He ran outside screaming just to find out that landlord hired somebody to check windowsills.

I have a couple of creepy two sentence stories: I saw a face smiling through the window. My room doesn't have windows. l heard a dripping sound coming from the bathroom. The tap was turned off. My daughter told me she had a nightmare about a man with no face. I was about to tell her everything was okay, but I didn't have a mouth to do so. My mother told me she loved seeing my kids. I was just about to fall asleep when I heard foot steps coming towards my bed. I lived alone so when I realized what was happening I quickly pretend to be asleep. Inside my head I whispered a quick prayer. Then I opened my eyes just a crack that looked like nothing and I saw him a man writing something on my wall with big letters and then watched him slowly slip beneath my bed. I almost had a heart attack when I read the words, but it didn't matter a knife was already coming from under my bed cutting my flesh below my chin. It said "I know your awake." Usually that is the end of a horror stories but more is to come- She silently gasped in denial still pretending to be asleep so the man wouldn't notice and hopefully go away. But it actually made thing worst, when the man seemed to believe her, he crawled out from under the bed and, then pulled her head up so he could be 100% sure she was awake. she realized that if she kept pretending her dead husband would notice. He came for revenge.

Premature burial was a real concern when medical science couldn't always tell between death and a deep coma. The were all sorts of devices, bells that could be rung by a pully and so forth, to let someone alert someone that they were still alive. Of course, if no one was around to hear the bell....

I have a couple of creepy two sentence stories: I saw a face smiling through the window. My room doesn't have windows. l heard a dripping sound coming from the bathroom. The tap was turned off. My daughter told me she had a nightmare about a man with no face. I was about to tell her everything was okay, but I didn't have a mouth to do so. My mother told me she loved seeing my kids. I don't have any kids. I heard a knock on the front door. But then I saw the woman knocking on the wall beside me.

I was just about to fall asleep when I heard foot steps coming towards my bed. I lived alone so when I realized what was happening I quickly pretend to be asleep. Inside my head I whispered a quick prayer. Then I opened my eyes just a crack that looked like nothing and I saw him a man writing something on my wall with big letters and then watched him slowly slip beneath my bed. I almost had a heart attack when I read the words, but it didn't matter a knife was already coming from under my bed cutting my flesh below my chin. It said "I know your awake." Usually that is the end of a horror stories but more is to come- She silently gasped in denial still pretending to be asleep so the man wouldn't notice and hopefully go away. But it actually made thing worst, when the man seemed to believe her, he crawled out from under the bed and, then pulled her head up so he could be 100% sure she was awake. she realized that if she kept pretending her dead husband would notice. He came for revenge.

All of the paint bottles were relabled to the different types and when they were canned. Their scent and the beautiful crimson all of them left behind on the canvas were what compelled me to keep painting, no matter how much I miss the neighbors.

Premature burial was a real concern when medical science couldn't always tell between death and a deep coma. The were all sorts of devices, bells that could be rung by a pully and so forth, to let someone alert someone that they were still alive. Of course, if no one was around to hear the bell....
