Moscow artist Anton Gudim is back on Bored Panda again with his satirical and wry illustrations. He takes simple scenes and transforms them into meaningful messages about our world and the society we live in. In his humorous comics, he makes fun of modern standards of beauty and popular trends and also creates trippy drawings with unexpected endings. You will probably have to stop and think about some of them.

"All ideas came from my surroundings. I just try to take a new look at regular things, I'm always in search of new ideas, always taking notes," the artist shared with Bored Panda.

We asked Gudim what inspired him to create these comics: "Nothing inspires me. This is the way to fight the boredom: to see something new in the regular surroundings." So just like everyone else right now, he's trying to fight boredom and keep himself busy. When describing his drawing style, he said that he tries to go with minimalistic, simple, and understandable illustrations.

Anton Gudim has been trying his whole life. He started creating these hidden meaning comics about 7 years ago and managed to capture the interest of a lot of people. Currently, he has over 890k followers on Instagram.

"I try to do about 2 comics a week, but it's so hard because I have other projects at the same time and also I have a full-time job. I draw almost everyday but for my social networks it's about 1-2 per week."

He creates comics based on life, so it's not hard for him to find topics and themes to illustrate: "Life has a lot of topics, I think there is not enough life to draw all of them."

Anton Gudim says that drawing is his hobby, he works in an office full time as an engineer. He hopes that one day he can become an independent illustrator.

"Be an artist if you want it, but you should know, that it's not simple enough. There are a lot of time of practice behind every piece of art." - said Gudim when asked if he has any advice for upcoming artists.

He also shared the struggles he faces as an artist: "Not enough time. And not enough strength sometimes. There are different days in life: sometimes you can do a lot of things, and have a lot of energy, sometimes you wake up and feel apathy. The main struggle is that it will be time when you can't create anything. And you must be patient."

We also asked Gudim why he chose to create these types of illustrations and if he gets any negative feedback on them: "I do these kinds of illustrations because I like that kind of art: I don't see enough illustrations like this, so I think the world needs it. Of course, I have negative feedback too, almost all from the Russian audience (I don't know why), it's ok because there are different tastes and different moods."

"Thank you for interest in my work and your support. Stay safe in this hard time"
