I have to agree with your sentiments. I always wonder the same....especially like, why are babies born with diseases and pain? They did nothing to deserve that....why are children being killed daily? They have done nothing wrong.

Religion really screws with women's rights. I was told once, by a chauvinist Christian that women have different rights, but they are still equal rights.

I work in a restaurant too and they are rude.

Which is morally superior, though? Subsuming morals that have been imposed on you by a church, or developing your own morals based on the idea that you should treat others the way you would like to be treated in similar circumstances? The latter actually requires self-reflection and thought, and can be modified as the times change. The former merely requires blind obedience and, apparently, judgment of others.

For me, it was a claim that animals have no soul. and I am absolutely sure that they have it, both reason and soul, and more than some people.

The night my mother died her dog would not allow me in her bedroom, even though she died in the hospital. He grieved himself to death and died 4 months later. Tell me he didn't have a soul. My own dog, lay in front of the room where my mother stayed in my home and cried for days. He also grieved when my MIL died. They had pure souls.

That is a bunch of nonsense and that person is full of crap. Dogs don't have to do anything like that because they are already sinless.

My pastor had this belief. As an avid animal lover, I hounded him for a year until he finally relented. I argued that animals have pure souls as they do not sin, love unconditionally and will sacrifice themselves to protect/save their people. When he changed his mind, he said, " I cannot imagine you being happy without your animals. So, in order for your soul to be at perfect peace and joyfulness, there must be animals in heaven." Years later, I heard him use that same logic to console a little girl who just lost her dog to cancer.

well the Catholic church at least takes the opposite view. Pope Paul VI (1963-1978) said “One day, we will see our animals again in the eternity of Christ. Paradise is open to all of God’s creatures.”

Why does anyone feel a need to say sh*t like this? Jesus didn't die to save dogs from their sins. I'm pretty sure dogs can't sin. No sin, no fall, no savior necessary.

I've always understood it to be like this; animals don't have souls, but animals are a gift from God to mankind, and an important part of creation. He loves them too, of course they are in Heaven! I cant picture a Heaven without my gigantic, fluffy kitty from childhood. He'd better be there, that's all I can say.

Every pet I've ever had, right down to my hamsters are there. Mitzy, Pepper, Morris, Katy, my Little Lucy Loo. How can they say that?! It wouldn't be "the good place" if there weren't animals.

I'm christian and I don't believe that heaven exists.

When my dad was a kid, he asked his catholic grandma about Ghandi. Her response: "he was a great man, but he wasn't catholic, so he is in hell". My dad pretty much checked out of Catholicism after that.

My daughter lost her brother, my son, when she was 10. He was 6. She went to a "Christian" bible camp one summer and asked one of the leaders if her brother was in heaven because he was only 6 when he died. The woman told my daughter that her brother was in hell b/c he hadn't accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. She cried the rest of the day! What an evil person to say that to a child!

I stopped going to church when the pastor told me my still born twin was in hell for that same reason. I won't accept a god that punishes babies for eternity.

It's obvious that animals have souls. You can feel their souls. If anybody doesn't sense the souls of animals then they are just insensitive to their souls or blind to them. In the Bible it says "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord". How can anybody or anything which doesn't have a soul praise the Lord?

I second that. If the heaven they are preaching doesn't accept my cats, my dog and my parrots, then I won't go to their so-called heaven

the f**k? if there even is heaven, dogs would most definitely go. they are the most wholesome things on this planet (red pandas are a close second, in my opinion). us humans are s**t (well, not all of us, but so many more are shitty than there are painted out to be, regardless of religion/race/orientation). sorry if this was a rant but things like this is why i want to leave catholicism (i was born into a catholic family. have gone to catholic school my whole life. i still have 3 years to go before college. yeah i dont think that being bisexual and not supporting the religion i was born into help me, especially since my parents aren't the most liberal...yeah they're kinda conservative and we're in california. southern california.) s**t that was too much but thats my rant. sorry

If there is a heaven, I’m pretty darn sure there will be a lot more pets making the cut than people.

I believe in the religion that states "Your path to heaven is lined with all the animals you've ever met." Sounds a bit Buddhist but seems a perfect assessment of our "humanity".

That's made-up crap. The Bible doesn't say anything about pets. Where the Bible is silent, we can't speculate anything. I believe I will see my pets in heaven. By their reasoning, babies who die wouldn't go to heaven either.

Nobody "has" a soul. I *am* a soul. I *have* a body.

I would think God gave us pets to love and comfort us..why wouldn't they be in heaven. The bible says the lamb will lie down with the lion (maybe it's not metaphoric) I'd like to think that heaven is full of pets, everybody enjoy slurpy kisses and terrific purrs.

This is such a stupid claim!! Even Martin Luther himself said, when asked if there are dogs in heaven 'Do you think heaven is a barren place?' And why would a dog or indeed any animal end up in hell? that makes no sense whatsoever. I am an angostic but I truly loathe people who just take whatever sick idea comes into their head and claim it's dogma.

See - this is where I & "religion" have to part. So - the little bush man who's never heard of Jesus, but has lived a good & honorable life, won't go to heaven because he hasn't accepted Christ into his life???? Go f*ck yourself Christianity.
