Artist Redesigns One Movie Poster A Day For 365 Days, And They’re Better Than Original
Sydney-based graphic designer Peter Majarich clearly likes movies. So much so in fact that he's decided to set himself a challenge. He's redesigning a different movie poster every day though 2016, and as you can see from his awesome artwork, he's doing a brilliant job of it.
The challenge is called, rather unsurprisingly, "A Movie Poster A Day", and while the concept is simple to comprehend, it's considerably harder to execute. Majarich has to find an innovative perspective on some of the world's most well-loved movies such as The Godfather, The Silence of the Lambs and Se7en, while at the same time trying to maintain the essence of what makes each movie special. It's no easy task but so far he's on track to complete his challenge by the end of the year. Check out some of our favorite below.

I've never heard of this film, but is it about surgeries and/or a hospital?
It's about a man in a canyon who manages to get is arm caught against a stone wall by a giant boulder, only to have to saw it off with a pocket knife.

Schindler's List
Oskar Schindler had a list of Jewish workers that he intended to move from a concentration camp commanded by Amon Goth to a munitions factory ... Goth believes it is to seclude them from the camp, but in reality, Schindler wants to keep them from being sent to the gas chambers in Auschwitz by registering them as a viable workforce for the German army ... the hidden nature of his list is why his name is obscured in the title above ... the intention had to be kept secret lest Goth would have discovered his true intention and had all the Jews in the factory exterminated ...

I Am Legend
This one doesn't fit. It makes it look like this is a war movie. It doesn't remind me of a post apocalyptic zombie movie.
I think this poster relates more to the book.

I don't think so, unless you have seen the film.

wouldn't you say a desert is wild? But i agree, this image looks really lonely and desperate. Artists love of negative space is coming on to hard here.

i disagree with the use of a shallow water diver here. Need a deep water diver in a pressure suit. Small thing, but it irked.
Gattaca
Fahrenheit 451
Office Space
Ghostbusters
Cool Runnings
Birdman
It's a quote from the movie and they spell out bird man in the quote

yeah, this isn't even the right Rita Hayworth poster from the movie :-(
The Ring
Flatliners
DWhy did the artist use a calligraphy vector brush? ruins the defined width stroke of the heart monitor.
Critisize it when you make all the poster he/she put the time and effor in to.

The Dark Knight Rises
American Beauty
Lost In Translation
High Rise
Donnie Darko
American Sniper
this feels like a designer who didn't know anything about the movie, just took the words in the title, and made a literal poster with those words. Weak. There were some pretty damn poignant moments in that movie that could have been cleverly displayed... weak weak.
Die Hard
The Kite Runner
Godzilla
Anyone else notice that some of these are just posters behind the same background.
The Karate Kid
Three Amigos
The photo-shopping could have been much better. ie....Chevy Chases arm just doesn't look right.
