These 35 Photos By A Dutch Artist Look Like Classical Paintings Brought To Life
After graduating as a Goldsmith and later as a multimedia designer, Dutch artist Gemmy Woud-Binnendijk found her true passion in photography. Driven by her love for humans, animals and a strong creative urge, she brings the past to the present in her portrait photography.
Woud-Binnendijk admits that her biggest inspiration is the old master painters of the Golden Age. Combining the techniques they used – Chiaroscuro principle and Sfumato technique in this case – she creates intricate depths by using dark and light contrasts.
By layering colors and tones, she creates soft and imperceptible transitions in her portraits which you can see below.

Gorgeous! The production of these photos is brilliant! The person taking these photos is a genius. No doubt.
She looks very beautiful. The pearl earrings and the flowers in her hand compliments her so well!
2 different girls (albeit twins) 2 different dresses, 2 different expressions
adam and eve! :) I love how she's turned away from him and that annoyed look he gives her!
That's me in the corner, that's me in the spotlight, losing my religion...
