Dying Piglet Abandoned At Shelter Goes Through Miraculous Transformation

Meet Cherry Blossom, the piglet who has suffered a lot in life. She was dropped off at a shelter being very ill. “She had an incredibly severe case of sarcoptic mange…,” Jen Sale, CEO and founder of Sale Ranch Sanctuary, told The Dodo. “If it’s not treated, it can be fatal.”

Her owner is thought to be the man who brought her in, even though he said she was a stray he found. While no one can tell the exact reason for the piglet’s mange, the rescuers believe it to be terrible conditions in which Cherry Blossom was kept. “Most likely she was born into overcrowded, filthy conditions,” Sale said. “As a baby, her immune system was still developing, and she kind of got walloped.”

“When she came to us, she was in such excruciating pain that she had shut down,” Sale said. “You could see the most incredible sadness and uncomfortableness in her.”

Sale added: “She still wanted comfort from us… Even though she was in so much pain, she’d snuggle up and want us to rub her belly. She’s just a testimony for how forgiving and loving animals are.”

After two months of treatment and lots of love, the piglet is completely healthy, her hair grown in and skin totally healed. “The transformation really is amazing.”

Everyone Stop all the Self-Hatred, for heaven's sake! Granted there are some of us who are disgusting creatures. But the overwhelming majority of us are caring and loving people, capable of doing wonderful things. And saving this poor little fellow is just one example of how wonderful we are capable of being. Think positive and start looking at the best in us, or you will only see the ugly and terrible everywhere you look. Even I love you all, and wish you the very best. Now go out and do something positive for others. Bless You All!!

God bless sanctuaries like the this one! As humans, it is our commission to treat animals with kindness & dignity--wild, pets or farm.

I totally agree BC. We are able to do wonderful things and most of us, like the sanctuary above are willing to do the Lord's work. G-d bless them all.
