50 Quirky And Extraordinary Moments Of Everyday Life In Japan By Shin Noguchi
There is something extraordinarily magical about Japan and its culture and Japanese photographer Shin Noguchi proves that through his photo series of everyday life in Japan. He catches the peculiar, surreal, and strangely beautiful shapes and situations that occur when people don't think anyone is watching.
Noguchi, himself, describes his street photography as an attempt to capture extraordinary moments of excitement, humanism, the way of life, and beauty among the flow of everyday life. His approach to photography art is discreet, poetic, and enigmatic, which allows the artist to find the subtleties and complexities of Japanese culture without relying on staged, no-finder, or hipshot photography.
Explaining his philosophy, he says, "Street photography always projects the 'truth.' The 'truth' that I talk about isn't necessarily that I can see, but they also exist in society, in street, in people's life. And I always try to capture this reality beyond my own values and viewpoint/perspective."

Sooooo ... I'm the only one bothered by the unevenness of the tiles ... OK ...
I think they wanted them to go diagonal, but had to put them straight. So they layed them ever so slightly in the right direction. One after another. I hope this is understandable. Didn't know how to write it. But look at them. All go in the same direction

All square images and a bright red round image as the contrast. Outstanding.
I'm just glad this isn't in China, that dog would be boiled alive shortly after this photo.
When you feel like someones watching you and you turn around and see this :)
Is this a photo of a Japanese person? One of the things I noticed when I was in Tokyo is that NO ONE crosses their legs on the subway. I think it’s because crossed legs stick out more and others may trip or bump into them. Maybe it’s just in the more crowded cities that no one crosses their legs?
well you gotta be able to move around... im sure there are about 15-20 failed attempts within 2-4 seconds. bubbles float around and if the camera is manually focused on the girls it's pretty easy to do. Keep snapping until you get 1 good one!
Load More Replies...So perfect. Depth of field is just on the window and both faces are beautiful
This is wrong. Why is the dog on the other side of the glass when he could be playing with the girl?
I think I need the soundtrack to Howl’s moving castle behind this one: magical

It'd be way more than just wet! On a field trip, we planted some seedlings by hand. There's a reason we did it barefoot; if that kid stepped into the paddy, he'd lose a shoe. 😂

I lived in Japan for two years, and never saw so many dogs. I'm guessing the photographer likes pets, so there are more pet photos than expected.
Oh no no it's a female dog's 'strawberry'! And as far as I know they are often dark. My chihuahua has the same fur/skin colour :)

You do not photograph people's faces without prior permission (If you know all the customs, and care for them) so you'll notice how good Noguchi-san is at avoided the problem.
