We all felt, at least once, that our problems have become big and heavy as dinosaurs. To overcome this deceiver proportion, I think it helps to lift our eyes to the sky. “Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us” said the great Carl Sagan.

While this is a big perspective, there’s also the small one, equally beautiful. Using our eyes or adding a lens for details, we can take a look at the universe beneath our feet, in grandma’s backyard or the city park. It abounds in life, colorful, diverse, complex, fascinating life.

My god I love these guys. Robber Fly. When I was little, and one would find me, it would follow me for about a block before getting bored. I used to have wonderful conversations with them.

awww... I love these guys. this particular branch of the spider species with the spikey legs and the large soft abdomen. I had a hobby of feeding them every time I would see one. I would find something to toss in it's web, then make sure it didn't escape until the spider nipped it and spun it up.

I remember catching grasshoppers as a child. It was fun to chase them and catch them, but it wasn’t interesting the way catching a frog or lizard or snake was interesting, so I always just tossed them back into the field.

Blurg... I hate these guys. always sucking the life out of my strawberry plants. It's a good thing my aphid lions (ladybug larva) live all around me in the Rhododendrons. :D
