This TikTok Challenge Is Making People Cry After Seeing People Recreate Pics With Their Late Loved Ones (20 Pics)
Coping with the loss of a loved one is probably one of the hardest things humans can ever do. In fact, one study suggests that out of 200 consultations with GPs, a third of which were of psychological origin, 55 were identified as resulting from loss. It hits hard, changes lives, and takes years, if not forever, to heal.
But some people have found a unique shelter for their grief online. A new series of videos have been circulating around on TikTok showing people recreating pictures from the past. In emotional snaps, many are struggling to contain their tears as old images with their loved ones who are no longer among us come back to life. The captions that read “I miss you every day” remind us just how powerful and time-defying love can be.

As a parent who also lost my beloved daughter at only 4 1/2 months, the pain of losing someone who you were only just getting to know, but loved with every part of your soul, is beyond unimaginable. Time may pass, but that loss stays with you forever. Just know your beloved little angel is waiting for you to come home when the time is right.
I'm so sorry that happened to you. My boys are my sun, moon and stars. My brain literally will not allow me to imagine something horrible happening to them. It's like a mental breaker box that keeps me from self destructing. That is an unbelievably heavy burden you carry. I hope you are finding moments of peace. **hugs**
Load More Replies...I am SO SORRY for your loss! Parents should never lose their children. Although I don’t know how you feel, I’m heartbroken still to try to imagine. My thoughts are with you.
There are rarely dads who express themselves about their sadness when their baby or child are dead prematurely
Bored Panda reached out to Kylei Wang, the woman behind this emotional TikTok video, who shared her story with us.
This particular TikTok came to her through inspiration from other creators who also used this same sound to recreate pictures with their lost loved ones. “I had recently lost my grandpa about 2 months prior to making my video, so I wanted to do something to honor him and share with the rest of the world,” said Kylei.
A college student in her junior year, Kylei told us that making the TikTok was a bittersweet experience. “The feelings from losing him are definitely still raw so recreating a picture from the last time I ever got to see him was emotional for me,” she confessed.
What took you so long... I didn't make it past #2! (I thought I was badass because I held strong through #1!)
Load More Replies...Kylei said that losing her grandpa during the coronavirus pandemic was particularly hard because “I was not able to travel to see him for the last time. A lot of me felt separated from my emotions and especially in the beginning, it didn't quite feel real.”
The hardest part for Kylei was to accept his passing, but talking to her family and friends helped to cope with the grief. But she managed to remain strong and hopeful. “Knowing that he's in a better place also eases my conscious. I also believe that someday I'll be able to see him again,” she concluded in emotional words.
you can literally see the pain in his eyes this is heartbreaking
This thread is devastating why am I reading it while trying to work D: D: D:
This got me right in the feelings, my 15 year old dog passed away this year on my birthday.😢
Sorry to be rude, but compared to the loss of all these other people, a dog feels almost offensive to what others have lost. To be fair, I wouldn’t know because I don’t know what this girl has gone through with this dog, but To some not knowing the whole story of this might find it a little insensitive.
Dogs are still loved ones. I lost a small dog named Oy, and I'm sure it wasn't as sad as what these people have gone through, but it still hurt. I had that dog all my life. Literally.
Load More Replies...I misss my Grandpa toooo. he was like a father too me and ohh sooo much more (:))
Ouch - - that looks a lot like my granddaughter, who is blessedly alive & healthy
Oh look someone making an unnecessary statement for affect and an argument. Move on Cole, we get it, your needy and want attention
Don't worry about Cole. He's a cold hearted prick who probably never loved anything or anyone
Load More Replies...You don't. You just keep on existing until you get to see them again.

Load More Replies...I couldn't stop watching. I hurt for all of you and know how you must feel. I've lost pets and family and, really, all you want is just one more second one more minute. Can't type tears are in my way.
you brought up feelings that i pushed down years ago why now im crying looking at pics of my mom.🎗
To all those who have lost a loved one: I cannot express my condolences enough. I myself have lost pets and a great-grandmother, but that must be nothing to losing a child, parent, friend, aunt, etc. I am deeply sorry, and wish you the best in life. XO
These pictures really hurts because recently, my grandfather has passed away. He was in pain for since January and his mind and body was gone when he died. I'm just glad that when he passed, he wasn't in pain and he passed in his sleep. He was always a role model and the reason why I have a big love for history. The only thing I regretted is that I couldn't see him and couldn't physically attend his funeral because he is in Vietnam, while I'm studying in the US. Love you so much ông.
I am so sorry! I wish you the best of luck. And please remember, your grandfather is in a better place now. RIP
Load More Replies...WHY!? I don't understand why you would do this. Maybe I am still learning to cope with the loss of a loved one but this seems like a morbid attention grab more than a way to honor or remember someone. I can't imagine ever reaching the point where I would want to do this or share it.
