There’s always something people have demonized. First it was fat, then it was food additives, and lately it has become sugar. But things people see as evil don't end with our diet.
Other commonly disregarded stuff may have to do with music, like the controversial band known as Nickelback or going to psychological therapy, or not liking animals like rats, tarantulas, and snakes.
We rarely reflect on why specific things cause us such adverse emotions, so this viral thread may give us some perspective. The simple yet thought-provoking question “What doesn't need the hate it gets?” was asked by Redditor u/Alexdoesthedo, and it has clearly produced some very illuminating responses.

The rain. Rain is f**king awesome. It feeds all the plantlife, makes puddles, and my personal favourite, at night time the rain reflects light and makes even traffic lights look f**king amazing. Jesus I love rain.
Atheists. Most of us are nice, sensible good people just like you, we just happen to have different views on religion. Just like any religion, of course there are extremists that give the group a bad name, and the rest of us look down on them and don't support how they act.
Pineapple on pizza. It’s delicious, and if you hate it don’t s**t on people who like it.
Reading.
Even those who read scoff at what others read and it's not necessary.
Reading overall is good for the brain and memory. Comic books, magazines about cars or fishing, romance novels, old classics, it's all reading.
There's no need to feel shame or shame someone for what they read.
Enjoying cartoons as an adult.
Good content is good content and looking back at the cartoons I loved now and then. I do have superior tastes.
Child please. I'm approaching retirement age and I never stopped watching cartoons.
Therapy. It's never a bad thing but I definitely still know people who are firmly against or see it as a sign of weakness.
People who want to live a basic, "normal" or "boring" life. From all generations, I am constantly hearing locals/normies being made fun of for not wanting a ~fancier~ lifestyle but like... Why does that matter? Besides, just having a roof overhead is luxurious to to some people. Let others live the lives they want to.
Rats. They're some of the funniest, most affectionate and intelligent small pets, with a ton of personality, who actually enjoy engaging with people.
They get a terrible reputation for carrying disease or being aggressive- which is just not true for domestic rats. Growing up I had almost every common pet rodent you can think of, and hands down I'd pick a rat over a hamster any day.
Cats. Many people I know absolutely despise them because they think they cant love you the way some dogs can, or they remind you of the stereotype "crazy cat person" or the whole "they're all aggressive/bitey/scratchy" thing. Once I had both dogs and cats (and reptiles!) in my house - and though I love both, cats tended to speak a little louder to me. I'm part of a TNR company and ended up raising one of the cats I caught while searching for my missing cat last month and realized how sweet they can be if you take the time to earn their trust and give them space when it's asked for.
Bra straps showing. Like what? Why does it make you mad? It's fabric. And if I'm not mistaken, you're covered in it on the daily.
Sleeping with stuffed animals. You’re never too old for that.
The North American Opossum. They're docile unless threatened, and I think they are endearingly cute. They perform a great service by eating tons of pesky insects, like ticks. Added bonus, they are almost entirely immune to rabies.
Teenage girls who are obsessed with something (a pop star, a movie, a book etc). Let people enjoy things.
Broccoli. Steam it and melt a little Smart Balance on it. Yummy. Your parents didn't know how to make it. It's arguably the healthiest food you can eat, at least in the top ten.
Muslims, they are really misunderstood everywhere.
I'm in favor of practicing any religion you like, but Islam is one of the most intolerant religions to ever exist. There is no Muslim-majority country where being gay isn't hazardous to your health. There isn't a muslim-majority country that isn't a hellhole in regards to women's rights. Islam is incompatible with liberalism, the same way 14th century Catholicism is incompatible with liberalism. If you want to follow Islam, as a liberal I say you do you, but don't expect me to turn a blind eye to the religion's social problems.
Homeless people. Austin, TX just reinstated a ban on public camping/sitting/laying down, with zero allocation for actually helping the homeless population.
Sharks. They're just a well designed killing machine and the chances of them killing you are super low. Orcas and dolphins are actually "meaner" if you want to look at them in a human way, they'll purposely mess with you or hurt you. Sharks might just bite you on accident.
Hyenas. Most unfairly villainized and maligned animal in the world all because of some stupid Disney movie. They are not scavengers at all they hunt 90% of their prey and lions steal food off of them far more than they steal off lions. They are highly intelligent predators with an equally important role to play in the ecosystem.
Teachers.
I can personally confirm that I was a piece of work in grade school - then high school. And it wasn't because of teachers - it was because of me.
So true! Living with a teacher every day, and believe me, it's not only the kids, but also the parents, the school board,....
Snakes. They are awesome pets and the super dangerous ones don't want anything to do with you. I can't stand people killing snakes they find. To me its like killing a stray dog you find. Just call animal control.
Snakes are so cool, we used to have a pet Murray darling python. Sadly she passed away a few years ago.
Trans people. Just like many other minorities, most people get little exposure to them other then what they hear and see online. Aka the trans freakouts and anti trans pages aren’t too realistic, along with the tumblr 30,000 genders people, “real” (not because of a coping mechanism or fetish, etc but fr like born that way, ) trans people irl are quite normal.
GMOs. Humans have been slowly doing that since we started cultivating crops, now we can just do it quicker. And there are millions of people who rely on GMO crops to not starve to death.
It's just Monsanto GMO seeds. 1 generation so they can keep selling them, and they don't care if their product does get into organic fields nearby. Losing natural, unmodified seeds to Monsanto's greed is terrifying.
Brussels Sprouts. You can do so much with them! Just stop boiling the hell out of them.
People with the Karen haircut who are actually normal and chill.
TV shows made specifically for toddlers. They are toddlers. It's all colors and shapes and being excited over simple things. That's what toddlers are about. YOU don't need to watch the show. It's not for you.
Nickleback - I'm not a fan, but it's just kind of generic rock music that you are in no way forced to listen to.
Billie Eilish. I don't know what it was that made people go "eeeew, BiLlIe EiLiSh" but come on. She's an interesting person and her music is genuinely good. I'm not one for forcing artists on people, I just don't get when a relatively innocuous musician gets that level of hate.
And while I'm at it: Taylor Swift writing about relationships. Just about every artist in existence has either written about their relationships at least once, or usually write about love/relationships, either through experience or generalization. Why is it okay for people like Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, or Ariana Grande to write about their relationships without much uproar, but when Taylor Swift does it? Sheesh.
Body pillows.
There's no law saying you have to put something sexy on it there's plain colored pillowcases for them literally everywhere.
They. Help. You. Sleep. Gud.
How can people hate body pillows? I have one covered in a plain white sheet and it helped me have the best sleep I've ever had. Honest to god, I recommend everyone to have one.
Veganism. We just don't want innocent animals to get hurt yet we get mocked for it all the time.
People do not hate the veganism, we hate the aggressive, "only we can save the world, you f***ng animal killer"-like evangelist vegans.
Exactly. I lived for months with a jerk that was a extremist vegan and kept bothering me about me eating "cadavers" (she called meat that to try to make it sound dirty). I hate that people, they do more damage for theircause than good. I was eating meat /fish about 2 times a week and volunteering 40h a week in a animals rescue. But I was still a monster in her eyes
Load More Replies...It's not the veganism, it's the constant talk about saving the planet, how people who eat meat are murderers and all that crap nobody wants to hear. Also, for me it's the "hi, I'm whoever and I'm a vegan". Who cares, really, unless you say that to someone who's going to feed you !
Don't talk to me about veganism if you're ending in a "I'm better person than you because I'm vegan" argument.
Yes. Talk to me if I ask and you're going to help me understand it better.
Load More Replies...I'm not vegan, but I've been vegetarian for 42 years. Number of militant vegans I've encountered in 42 years? Exactly 1. Number of meat eaters who are mad that I don't eat meat or who try to trick me into eating meat? More than I can count. People hate vegans because vegans force them to see their own cognitive dissonance. It's tiresome.
That bullshit you're spouting is tiresome. I don't know a single person who cares what you eat or don't eat as long as you aren't obnoxious about it.
Load More Replies...Here are my two cents: I'm an ethical vegan. I don't give a f... what you eat or not. I won't try to convert you. I don't care if you smoke or drink yourself into an early grave. Being 100% ethically vegan is nearly impossible. I take meds every day of my life. I have no choice and I know they are not cruelty-free. I simply try my best to participate as little as possible. Vegan options in food, clothing and products abound. My beef (pun!) with most non-vegans is how they use fallacious arguments to justify their behaviour; "not healthy, too hard, my freedom, ethical farms, etc". If you feel the need to justify your diet when I did not ask about it, you are the one with the problem on your conscience. Stop asking me where I get my proteins and Google it. Stop trying to make me feel like an asshole for having empathy. Stop asking me if I prefer animals to humans. I do. Humans are a plague on the planet.
There are fallacious arguments on both sides. PETA has lied to the point where they are actively harming their cause. Eat meat or don't, but don't pretend that the biggest environmental hazard right now is animal husbandry, when all farms pollute, and some crops that are propping up meat free markets like soy and rice are not sustainable and pollute a bunch too. It won't fix the world/global warming if everyone stopped eating meat tomorrow. There would be other issues. Not eating meat is an ethical/moral issue not an environmental one and that's fine, that's your prerogative. But don't pretend there aren't justifications on both sides and that one is inherently better than the other. People always justify the choices they make.
Load More Replies...My cousin is vegan and she's a perfectly fine human being, there's nothing wrong with veganism, just the annoying people who happen to be vegan.
I don't hate vegans (my sister is vegan, and I've ate a lot of tasty food, it just isn't a diet i can have full time personally, it doesn't mean I hate animals, I love them.), I just hate pushy people. If you're a vegan who tries to force veganism on others using hatred and being so high and mighty... just stop. (people like goddamn "Vegan Teacher" need to just f**k off honestly)
I don't hate Vegans for their choices nor would I ever abuse or intimidate them. I hate Vegans who think they have the right to hate, abuse or intimidate me for my choices.
Judgey militant ANYBODY. Have an opinion? Cool. Try to use it as a weapon or shove it down my throat? We have a problem.
Load More Replies...not because they steal and murder innocent pets on a huge basis?
Load More Replies...I don't hate on Veganism, I hate on The Vegan Teacher who is just a physcopath
I don't hate vegans in general. I hate extremist vegans that try to dictate what others do and act like they are better than everyone else.
A debate doesn't dictate anything. It's just exchanging views, grounding them on facts, and drawing reasonable conclusions. If this debate isn't comfortable, it may have to do with the side chosen to represent. OTOH, no animal who is used in the production of clothing or food can even dream of a life where the only thing forced upon them is aknowledging facts and taking things serious. The suffering of nonhuman animals isn't irrelevant. The other effects are neither, but let's keep them aside for a moment. There is no dictatorship of any vegan over any meateater whatsoever. There is, of course, something good about not causing harm, and something bad about causing harm. No more, no less - how is any of that preachy, dictating or self-righteous? It is precisely nothing more than reasonable conclusions drawn from poven facts. There isn't even any reason to go beyond that, for that would, as we all had to experience a few times, discredit veganism in total in too many people's eyes.
Load More Replies...it's Veganism.....not vegetarianism.....vegan's won't wear wool, which is crazy stupid, because allowing a sheep to go without being sheared is actually animal cruelty! And how is it any better to eat an apple that you pick rather than one that rotted and fell on the ground? The tree doesn't hurt or have feelings!!
PETA - People Eating Tasty Animals - these a*sholes are such hypocritaes. One of the founders of peta was a type 1 diabetic. Guess where insulin came from -- animals.
Vegan is the term given by native people for the village idiot who couldn't hunt, fish or ride.
As many have said, people dont hate that they eat a vegan diet. They hate the condescending lectures they like to give, and the moment they start doing that, they open themselves up to legitimate criticism.
Vegans and vegetarians are totally fine! It’s the gluten free when you’re not actually allergic to gluten that use to drive me crazy! Running events in restaurants and hearing that when it was a fad drove me crazy, you have to take it incredibly serious and then the guest just ends up ordering something with gluten in it anyway. When guests want a vegan and vegetarian menu that’s totally fine And pretty easy to do!
No one is hurting my hens. They get food, water, shelter, and protection from predators. They also have free range during the day. In return they give me delicious eggs. But according to vegans I am a bad person. So sorry, no sympathy for the crap that vegans get. Your diet your choice. You do Not have the right to criticize my diet, which is My choice. Too many vegans give themselves a bad name for trying to make other people feel guilty about what they consume to stay healthy.
Nobody hates veganism. They hate vegans. Specifically, the ones who attack people the way right wingers attack gay weddings.
My brother went vegan for a completely different reason. It was the only diet that his digestive system could deal with.
As a vegetarian/vegan (don’t eat dairy during the week, eat dairy during the weekend) there are a few vegans who I cannot f*****g stand. I’m looking at you, Vegan Teacher...
This is rich people talk. My life is what ppl would call vegetarian perhaps, but that's cause meat is so expensive! Let's first solve the world's hunger problems and THEN talk about this bullshiet.
... the world hunger problem wouldn't even exist without this bullshit. It's the westeners' meat, and the meat of the raising chinese middle class, that eats what elsewhere could feed multiple times the amount of people, but as long as these problems are seen as opposed to each other, there will be no solution. Ignorance is strength. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Does that ring with you, huh?
Load More Replies...It is not about your food choice,it is just your snobbish attitude.I am talking about those "i am better than you" vegans
I can attest that when me and my daughter were going vegetarian and trying to go vegan she got a lot of flack from her grandparents on her dad's side. She couldn't just have a nice dinner with them without them trying to get her to eat meat and warning her about malnutrition, and boasting how they convinced their niece to start eating meat again. There are extremists on each side, and they're both terrible people to talk to.
Seriously, the extremist nonviolence towards help- and speechless animals is nothing anyone should be afraid of. The extremism on the meat-side is nowadays called "normal" - merciless exploitation for the least and last penny to avoid to spend, mest being cheaper than vegetables by subventions and exploitation of humans as well is the standard, anything less violent, anything less cruel is a rare exception that, one could think, is only done to point to it in debates. Also - my Grandma tried to trick me into eating meat one time. I left and told her I'd not come back if she ever does that again. She didn't. Sometimes, what appears extreme is just right and nothing else. Like in that case. I wouldn't visit them anymore, they're toxic, but that's just me.
Load More Replies...Veganism is still not great unless you're growing all your food. It's better to get meat and veggies from ethical local farms. They don't torture animals and the carbon foot print is significantly smaller than that quinoa you're importing
Only a vegetarian, and the few vegans I know are really nice. I live in a small town and I occasionally get an overly defensive meat eater who seems angry I don't, but probably like the bad vegans it's not typical. I do think there is a paradox in loving all animals and eating meat, but maybe it's because I don't want any harm to come to what I love. I'm a vegetarian and by no stretch would I say I love all animals, all is a lot.
Same. I've met more meat eaters that seem offended that I won't eat meat than extreme vegans... not a ton of either extreme thankfully but jeez. Eat your steak and leave me be lol it doesn't bother me.
Load More Replies...I feel plants are a "life" too. To live you must consume something elses life force. It does not matter if it is plant based or not to me. The important thing that should be adressed, is how we treat animals in life and in death, not weather we eat them or not.
Be a vegan if you want - I don't care. Just don't tell me I'm wrong and try to change the world
Nobody hates veganism or vegans, just those who label non-vegans as murderers who will destroy the world. My answer to those is usually 'If you love animals that much, why do you steal their food?'
It's true ... I heard about my menu from vegans about three times In my whole life... Now I am a vegetarian for four years and I hear something from meat-eaters almost every week.
I've got nothing against vegans - my sister & her family are vegan & I always make sure to have some dishes that are vegan when we have family dinners. What I can't stand are the vegans who think their way is the only way & are willing to get in my face about it (big mistake). I will eat what ever I m***********g want and hope you feel free to do the same. A world without bacon or steak, yeah right.
I can always tell if a person is a vegan within the first 30 minutes of meeting them. Because that is how long it takes until the proudly notifying me of the fact. If I am eating, it will take less time...
Meat being way too cheap and being produced under sometimes horrendous circumstances is the real problem. Also American size portions where they think it's normal a serving of meat it at least half a kilo. And the fact that the rain forest gets cut down for soy to feed cattle in Brasil. And pollution from all the excess manure in mega pig stables for example.
Eat your salad, run a lot and do it early so's we can have some piece and quite.
Well, say the same about people who eat meat. I mean, we don't want the animal to suffer though. Plus animals eat other animals.
And we meat eaters don't want to be preached at or made to feel guilty (which this post has actually done). Works both ways; you do yours, I'll do mine.
Eat what you like, but for the love of sanity stop preaching about it. No-one cares about what you eat, what you don't eat, and why that makes you special.
It's like PETA people holding a rally and you see they're wearing leather shoes. Hahahaha!!!
I'm going to say it. I dispise vegans and veganism. I personally barely eat meat products, but what I know for a fact is veganism is responsible for a horrendous amount of social, economic, and environmental fallout. What they buy into is marketing, and the IDEA of not being cruel. Environments are destroyed to feed this privileged demand. And don't get me started on "vegan leather" it's plastic!! Eat local, in season, and treat meat like a rare treat and go to a local small butcher.
I truely think that everyone should at least try a vegan meal. I am not vegan, but so much of that food is good and so full of flavor! So many people will not even try it at all, they just think it is too weird. (Although many already do eat vegan food such as Oreos, but that is not what I mean)
I did. my "woke" brother cooked me a vegan breakfast of "eggs and sausage" tasted great. left me in the damned bathroom for 2 days
Load More Replies...I dont hate veganism, I hate certain vegans that force veganism on their obviously carnivore pets and force veganism though social media while also calling people that arent vegan "animal killers" and calling them names. That's a wee too aggressive dontcha think?
Yeah, the people who peacefully opposed slave ownership have won in the end. Before they won, of course every slave had to stay on the plantation and accept his fate as negro, and not bother good, ethically flawless slave owners for their slave ownership. And then, they just talked when they were asked, and the slave owners listened and decided not to own slaves anymore, and then everybody clapped and they all celebrated. With Celery for everyone, as much as they could eat, and racism was washed away. Every history book tells this story, it should be a model to us to live by! Animals don't die from the lack of violence they receive. The demand for meat and other animal products does cause suffering. How can this be excluded from criticism? Why is criticism towards this atrocity connected to "feeling superior", even without anyone claiming that?
Load More Replies...Meat eaters most of the time don’t hate vegans. You don’t want to hurt animals, cool. I like meat, you don’t. The type we hate are the ones that judge US based on our choices. I’m not a murderer. I don’t work in a slaughterhouse. If you don’t want to be judged, don’t judge us on something that’s literally about what we eat. Come on.
Vegan dedication is admirable (not the crazy, lecturing kind that I’ve only heard about and not experienced). I’d give up meat, etc. in a flash but I wouldn’t know what to make for dinner for my children. I rely on meat and animal products. I’m too tired and busy to learn a new way of cooking and shopping. Thing is, the meat and animal products are already there in the market, so I’m not really going to be saving any lives by not buying them, am I?
You can be a vegan. I don't care. But shut up when I am enjoying my steak.
I don't knock vegans but could you please stop letting everyone know you're a vegan. It's like crossfit people. You don't have to announce to the world what you are.
It's not veganism that's the problem. It's that you have to mention it a hundred times a day that we're sick of. I'm saying this as a vegetarian, as well.
I am not a strict one, but I prefer veggies to meat they just taste better1
Well...in my country veganism is looked with humor because vegans claim that there are vegetables, plants or fruits to substitute anything you could get from meat. Yeah, that is true, says science, but in some cases you'll have to eat over 200 kg(440lbs) veggies to substitute 150g(0.34 lbs) meat. That is phisically impossible. The point is - eat how you want, but do not try to prove, that you are improving world. You are spreading malnutrition.
Maybe don't be so judgemental and self righteous about it? I know, I know, "not all vegans. . "
How do you know if someone is a vegan? Don't worry, they will tell you. Won't be too long they'll be walking around in pairs knocking on doors asking if you'd be interested in learning more about the Church of Vegan Life.
I really don't hate veganism, in fact I kind of admire it. I can't get over my love of eating meat and I truly believe veganism is definitely the more moral position. But the loud, obnoxious, condescending vegan makes me want to murder animals for spite.
i'm a vegetarian, but evangelist vegans make me sick. my cheese isn't hurting you.
That’s the thing though. You’re not saving animals. To grow the the veggies and tofu your eating, the farmers need to fertilize. Guess where that fertilizer comes from? Animals. Bone meal, manure, etc is all coming from animals, that(at least on these giant mass-producing farms) probably aren’t being treated well. And, in the case of bone meal, are still being killed. So, if you want to be a vegan I have no problem with that, but be realistic at least.
not to mention the destroyed habitats and killing of the natural "pests" in the area
Load More Replies...If the first thing out of your mouth when you meet someone is "I'm a vegan", then I don't have time to bother with you. But I would say that of many people. "I'm an xtian", "I'm a Mary Kay person", and so on - if that's all you have to say about yourself, then there's nothing interesting in your life and I don't want to know you.
Who does that? I can’t recall ever meeting a person and having them make a declaration like this straight off the bat
Load More Replies...Killing animals for food is the way God meant it to be. It's the cycle of life. Besides there would be an overpopulation of animals if they weren't. Of course they shouldn't be killed for their fur, tusks, etc. or just to kill. Vegans aren't helping anything not even themselves. People need certain proteins from animals
besides what everyone has said, also unless you grow your own vegetables, the vegetables industry isn't really doing less harm than meat industry. Well, it's debatable, but still. Not only are plants living creatures as well, who get grown and killed in order to be consumed (unless you're just taking the fruits), but also, in order to have all these fields where all these vegetables grow, they have to destroy the original whatever habitat there used to be there before, killing many other species of plants that would naturally grow there and all the wild animals that depended on it, not to mention the bugs getting killed with pesticides or any other plagues that may hurt the produce, including other plants that try to grow there but would interfere with others we consume. It's the whole fact of not recognizing plants as living creatures, or thinking that all the lives that are taken in order to have our veggies aren't as important as those of cows or chickens, etc.
What do you think do the animals eat? Or where do they live? They take up the space they are living in and also of the food they are being fed.
Load More Replies...Exactly. I literally don't understand how people hate us when we're the ones that are literally not murdering animals. Like uh, are you just jealous that you're too addicted to meat to stop killing animals?
Because you're preachy, obnoxious and simply refuse to accept that most people don't agree with you. Eat what you choose, but for Christ's sake, leave the rest of us alone.

Boy bands/ any music where the target audience is teens/young women. people need to stop assuming that anything that is liked by that demographic is stupid.
I don't think people hate boy bands per se. I think they hate the cynical manufacturing of them by music companies. 'OK, so we've got the super handsome one, the goofy one, the sensitive one, the blond one...' 'Can they sing?' 'Sing? who cares?'
Kristen Stewart--she's just socially awkward during interviews! She's a decent actress. People freak out that she's not super emotionally expressive... Some people just aren't!
Except an actress should be able to ACT AS IF they have emotions. Especially in movies....
People who lack basic human compassion. It's a sentiment that we have lost, at least in the US, and it makes for some seriously cold f**king people. Worse, it's more socially acceptable to be a cold-a-- prick than a compassionate human being. We need to fix that s**t if we want to have a functioning society...
I have battled this notion for decades. I repeatedly hear how people will "knock out" someone who so much as cuts in line from them. Or how "I just tell people how it is" without the need for tact. The entire world feels it is admirable and correct to forget about kindness, that being a bully is strong. No, it is far more difficult to be kind and concede even in the face of adversity. If you were to get slapped on the face, and then offer your other cheek to be slapped as well, you are deemed a coward or a door mat or "you should stand up for yourself". I once was punched in the nose at a dance club because the guy who asked me to dance had a girlfriend there, I didn't know. I recounted this story to my friends, and told them I didn't punch her back...100% of them said that I should have hit her..I want to know why? What in the hell would that accomplish? I know who I am, I know I am strong and I know that compassion, tolerance and kindness is what makes me strong.
Nuclear powerplants....
People freak out because of the radiation but almost everyone is oblivious to the amount of cr*p a coal or oil powerplant dumps in the atmosphere.
Nuclear waste is relatively easy to store and modern nuceal powerplants have good safety records.
"nuclear waste is relatively easy to store"? We need ways to store it for 100 000 + years, before the radiation reaches safe levels. The human race has never stored anything that long. We don't even know how we will make people aware of the danger in the future, since no language will survive that long.
Furries. Well most of them, they're actually pretty nice people.
Funko Pops. People absolutely hate them even though they're like $10 vs $100 for an actual figurine. What other people collect should be of no concern to you just because you "don't get it". People collected Beanie Babies back in the 90's for no reason and everyone was cool with it. Funko Pop's are the same thing.
There was tons of hate for beanie babies and their collectors. Most of what I see regarding dislike for funko pops is ire towards the producer of the entertainment for taking such a lazy option for merchandise instead of somehow "awarding" dedicated fans. Note, this is explanation, not opinion, you can pry my Harry Potter funko from my cold dead hands.
Indians. Yes a proportion of men are horrible here, and there's crimes against women and all but not all of us are Simps or predators. We are 1.4 billion, so even if 5% are criminals it's still 70 million people.
Imagine Dragons.
They were the Nickelback of the 2010’s.
It’s time to pass on the torch of hatred for a new overly mediocre band with bland and generic music that all sounds the same.
Seriously? Didn't even know that people hate them. So many fantastic songs ❤
People who work with fossil fuels, My grandad drives a fuel truck for work to deliver fuel and he stops at a gas station and occasionally some A-hole decides to go off and say your polluting the environment and your making it worse, people like my grandad do the job because it provides food for the family and it’s something they have a lot if experience in, that doesn’t make them the target to bully
The Last Jedi.
And this isn't even that true. Objectively speaking it was a massive success that the vast majority of the audience and critics enjoyed. But the people that hate it seem to think they're the majority in the Star Wars fandom and act both like a smug majority and a defensive minority.
It's a good blockbuster movie that has great actors, themes, cinematography, and effects. Sure it has some plot conveniences and physics bugs but for the love of the Force you'd think the people that point those out had never seen a movie with plot conveniences or physics bugs before or consider a completely tight plot or perfect adherence to space wizard logic to be the most important things in a movie."
"It's become such a toxic thing because a lot of the people that hate it hate it with a radioactive passion that ruins Star Wars discussion for everyone else (8 hour video on how TLJ is a cinematic abomination, really?)
That's not even getting in to the people that sent the actress that plays Rose death threats. Though I think every sane person that has an opinion on TLJ can agree that those people are insane children.
I guess you have to be part of the fandom, most I ever heard in regards to this movie is "it's a new Star Wars movie". I've seen it, I remember thinking that it was way too long (nearing the end I couldn't remember the beginning), and I don't really recall that much from it.
MSG. It’s like salt but on crack and exploding with flavor.
I can't believe I'm saying this but... Cyberpunk 2077.
I'm not going to defend the state of the game at launch at all because it was absolutely horrible. But I've noticed the conversation has trended from "The game underneath is good but it's technically f**ked up" to "the game even when fixed is still just half a game".
I know people were expecting a lot more RPG elements, but IMO the game when it works is a pretty good game and I feel like a lot of people just want to bag on that game that haven't even tried it.
And I say that as someone who thinks The Witcher 3 is super overrated and wasn't expecting to even like CP2077.
I dislike it because I was looking forward to it for so long and then they made it 1st person only and I’ll never be able to play it without throwing up, I dislike it because it broke my heart. :.( (yeahyeah I know about the mods)
Speaking as a comic nerd, Superman. Maybe a niche thing but he's either dismissed as a boring one note OP god with no substance who can just beat his way out of any situation, or a boring cornball with no edge to him. Both very incredibly wrong, for different reasons.
i prefer jane foster and if you don't know who that is too bad for you
The Star Wars prequels.
The Prequels were terrible. They turned the mystical Jedi into basically the Gestapo for the Republic. the Jedi are a police force that have no oversight, can execute someone they suspect of heresy without a trial (not that heresy should be a death sentence). A Jedi makes an order for million (billions?) of soldier clones AND NOBODY BATTED AN EYE.
Fortnite as a game, the community deserves the hate. Fortnite’s premise is interesting and creative mode can lead to amazing results. The community though...
What part of the Fortnite community? I would consider myself a member as I play nearly ever day, what did we do wrong?!
TikTok. Sometime it does, but most of the time it doesn’t.
I've learned a lot from TikTok, like products, hacks etc. It's like every other tool, it's the way you use it.
People who text one sentence at a time send Because I don't think of one big paragraph and then send it to you send I live in the moment and text how I think I'm carrying on the conv when new ideas appear in my head send And sending them straight away so I have your attention as if I'm talking to you send As I think you're likely to click off after reading one sentence so I try to keep you there send I don't plan my text it comes out random so I'm typing as I think- like I said. Who does walls of texts anymore? Most don't read or forget to reply. send I love receiving texts this way.
Ugh. People who use 10 texts to say what could be said in one drive me nuts. I have better things to do than tend to my phone for half an hour while you send me a single smiley face emoji or a thumbs up. Just because you have nothing better to do with your time doesn't mean I'm not up to my elbows in washing up water, or trying to read without constant stupid interruptions.
I think a lot of people hate these things because media and the internet tell them to.
I'll add introverts. It's okay to be an introvert, you don't have to be an extrovert, introverts can be fun, too an it took me years to realize that.
I love my introvert friends! I'm a socially awkward extrovert, but I'm a heck of a lot more outgoing than many of my friends.

I love spiders. I prefer they don't sneak up on me but I never kill them. Certain types are put outside, others moved to near a window if I'm not sure if it's a house spider or outside spider 🤷♀️ I'm allergic to mosquito bites so they do me a big favour :)

I will add: innocently staring at people shouldn't be that bad. We are visual and curious creatures and sometimes we just want to look with wonder or appreciation at someone else, but it's always perceived as creepy/perverted, and unfortunately it often is. I often check out someone's hair, shoes, backpack decals, facial structure, clothes etc. but terrified that I'll be "caught" appreciating their style or something. For this same reason, I never compliment strangers the way that I want to.
Now you need to take into account that the other person doesn't know your thoughts. Many do stare with creepy intentions. And also that no everyone is always waiting for compliments. Having some empathy about that would make it easier to understand how it's not appreciated to stare. Also, what you personally want should never be at the cost of discomfort of another.

All of these that where mentioned just remind me how great it is that people enjoy different things. A lot of things I wouldnt learn or hear about if someone didnt introduce me to it. What a boring world it would be if we were all the same, acted the same and liked the same things. Love and embrace our differences but try not to be an asshole if someone is not like you or likes things you dont.
i know one mineta from mha there is worse perverts yet the get love
Boomers/Millenials/Karens. Particularly on this site. In fact, let's just ban these terms completely and try to see the individuals around us without prejudice.
Just because someone doesn't "embrace" something does not mean they HATE it.
FURRIES ARE MISUNDERSTOOD. NOT ALL FURRIES ARE PERVERTS. NOT ALL FURRIES ARE INTO HEAT. NOT ALL FURRIES ARE LGBTQ. HOW DO I KNOW? IM A FURRY. I HAVE MULTIPLE FRIENDS WHO ARE FURRIES. ALMOST ALL OF THEM ARE STRAIGHT. GET THAT GUNK OUTTA YOU. But if the reason you dont like furries is because you think that kind of stuff is kinda odd and you're just not into it, you're fine, have a nice day.
I will also add: Lilly Singh. Why is she getting all this hate on the internet? She's worked hard for her success, and anyone who is insecure enough about themselves to criticize her humour, doesn't deserve to watch her videos. As long as what you're doing is not hurting anyone it's fine.
I worked as an hourly worker in some chemical plants & refineries... I got a bachelor's degree in humanities... It was so useless that I couldn't get a job selling insurance on commission with it... so I went to work as a workin' man... I was hated everywhere I worked because the workers didn't have any education beyond high school, and they were jealous and offended that I would dare to work in "their plant". They would tell me to my face that I was a fool for working there with a degree. I got tired of telling them that I was making three or four times what I could get with the useless degree...
I got my AA in social science and humnaities becuase after basic training and tech school I only needed 6 classes to finish it. I went on later and got a bachelors and masters degree in computer programming and IT. Most of the AA was the general ed stuff that all degrees require. Not a useless degree.

I would add K-Pop, J-Pop, and C-Pop as well! I enjoy this music and I'm teased and judged for being interested in different cultures? Same when I listen to any music in Spanish or French. I'm always judged for listening to different languages and I don't understand why. I showed a friend an English version of a K-Pop song and they SERIOUSLY enjoyed it, but when I showed them the original, they were disgusted that I had "tricked her into listening to that stuff." It makes me really upset that fans are teased and judged for listening to this. It's our musical taste, and no one is asking you to be a fan, so please just respect the fact that WE enjoy this. Thank you.
uhh you see there are no problems when it comes to k-pop its just the fandom has toxic stans :(
