Life can fall apart slowly over time. A few bad habits, even more bad decisions. Missed opportunities. Maybe the wrong crowd, coupled with some questionable relationships...
But other times, it only takes a moment for someone to completely wreck their life. Perhaps it was a poorly-timed comment, a "just-this-one-time" mentality, or even being caught unexpectedly on a Coldplay kiss cam. Whatever the reason, many people have managed to derail their lives at a speed, which is quite astounding.
Someone recently asked, "Who ruined their life the fastest?" and the replies sped in faster than the resignation of Astronomer's CEO Andy Byron. Thousands of people shared stories about years of stability unraveled in an instant.
From silly decisions that led to fatal crashes, acts of self-sabotage that had the worst consequences, and even dumb comments that sent careers spiraling out of control... Bored Panda has put together a list of the most sobering responses for you to scroll through while you think about your own life choices. Many might make you step with caution to avoid doing anything that could alter your path forever.

Not the fastest, but you have to credit Elon Musk for the sheer scale of his downfall.
He went from Silicon Valley’s darling genius that was going to save the world, to detestable technofa**st and one of the greatest villains of this generation.
He is now the poster child of the ultra wealthy using their money to make our lives worse.
I do feel like an idiot for thinking that there must be something behind the hype. But it was nothing more than an emerald mine.

I don't know anything about rockets, so when people said he was a genius I figured he must be a genius. Now he talks about software. I happen to know a lot about software & Elon Musk is saying the stupidest s**t I've ever heard anyone say, so when people say he's a genius I figure I should stay the hell away from his cars and rockets. - Great Quote on Musk and his cult
He was once asked in some live forum the basics on how a battery works. He couldn't even get as far as positive and negative.

Bet it wouldn't have garnered so much attention if they hadn't reacted like they did. How many of us knew who they were before? They were also in a very crowded arena, many people around who were seeing them together, anyways. Not very bright people, imo.
The silly thing is, if they hadn't reacted in such a guilty manner, no-one would have paid any attention!!
The Oceangate CEO did it pretty fast.
Praise be to Posidon, for he is great and only demands one billionaire per year be sacrificed for the benefit of mankind.
An untested sub that uses a video game controller to operate? What could possibly go wrong??
Stockton Rush was a reckless, arrogant cowboy who saw himself as a maverick and was proud of being a rule breaker even at the expense of his and others' lives.
To be absolutely fair, he had a very long run-up and preparation to set the stage for that near-instantaneous denouement.
My son. Decided to hang out of a window of a Jeep while the driver was doing donuts in the sand. The car rolled, he was k**led, no one else was even hurt cause they were all wearing seatbelts. One person in the car was going to do it, too, but Sage said "no, it's too dangerous." The irony of the stupid little fucker's comment is not lost on me. I miss him so much.
Sorry for your loss. I truly feel your pain of losing children. I lost 2.
Jeeps are prone to roll easily. Something that should be grilled into teens when they consider buying one, or anyone, really. Alas, teenagers just do stupid s**t to impress each other without realizing the danger. There was a teenage boy who died when a soccer football goal post fell on him. It was one of the bigger ones. He was hanging on it, then tried doing a flip around the bar, and the frame became unstable and fell, killing him instantly. All to impress a couple girls who were with him. Tbh, I didn't think they were that prone to toppling over.
I cannot imagine the pain of your loss. My sincere condolences.
I ruined my.own life the fastest. I went to a doctors appointment for chronic pain, was prescribed opiates in about 5 minutes. That's all it took to utterly ruin the great life I had and alter it.forever
Thankfully, I'm coming back strong now.
Went to the emergency department with a gut infection about 3 weeks ago.. the doctor asked what pain killers I wanted. I said, jokingly, I dunno, what have you got? Sent me home with with 20 oxycodone. Didn't ask if I had a history of a*******n. I might be a grey haired old lady, but grey haired old ladies get addicted the same as anyone else. I don't do well with opiates, but he wasn't to know that.
Opiate don't work on me. I might as well be taking a sugar pill.
Load More Replies...And now every doctor is so gun shy about prescribing any controlled substance that people like me can't get the relief we actually need.
Yes. Sitting here now i know it's stupid to take too much medicine. But once that opiate hits my system I'm a different person. Was taking oxy for cancer and started taking way too much, hallucinating. This would be a long post indeed if I described my hallucinations lol, another time. Then the withdrawals were pretty nutsack too. Still in pain but I have kids, gotta have my brain :)
I swear the most seductive thing about the pills is that feeling when you are pain free.
Load More Replies...America seems to have a massive problem prescribing opiates. Because of this, I can't buy my painkillers for my migraines in Australia, and have to see a doctor every time for a few pills.
Yet my husband has his wisdom teeth taken out in Australia, came home with a box of oxy.
Load More Replies...I was prescribed an 8 day course of Vicodin. 80 tablets. 80. 10 a day. I gave them to my wife, and told her to hide them, and only allow me one if I am sobbing with pain. My grandfather was an alcoholic, my father was a d**g a****t. Keep that s**t away from me.
10 a day? At that rate, the Paracetamol knocking out the liver would be my most pressing fear, as this stupid combination med has both, that and Hydrocodon, I think. Which I don't get - if a patient has a reason to take two pain meds, they can and should be prescribed and dosed seperately of each other. Mixing them only makes all their issues tied together, and makes one's limit the other's as well. I don't see any value in those combo pills that would outweight their plethora of disadvantages - Vicodin is cräp. 10 a day, are they, like, childrens' dose or something? How does that make any sense?
Load More Replies...I understand the situation. Being pain free and able to go about your daily business is very addictive.
And yet, we're considered "High Seekers", which often is not true, and even if, it is morally judged, as if it would require something really bad being done, like killing an animal to make the pills off or so. The only useful function pain has is to warn you off from hazardous activities. Chronic pain is different - whatever the brain does most, it becomes most competent in. You learn math by doing math, and a constant pain signal will make the performance in pain perception grow. Slow enough that no day is different than yesterday, but never was last year as bad as this. I'd advise to act quickly, then, because you WILL act, and you will accept, at some point, every side effect. As the brain's performance can increase faster than tolerance in a well-dosed pain treatment, not taking any meds, or no opioides, can result in no other choice being left than taking strong opioides. After all, you'd likely exceed the amount (or strength) you would be using if you started at the beginning simply by waiting. I'd also advise to not rule out anything - including but not limited to opioides - too quick, as the treatment that is done with the medicine plays a crucial role in all outcomes as well.
Load More Replies...opiates are a double-edged sword. People who honestly need help with pain management can't get the medication they need. They don't a***e it. They need it to have some quality of life as they go through their day. Then you have the fakers looking to get high or get rich selling their prescriptions. There are no winners here and it makes life difficult for doctors as they choose to prescribe or not based on what patients are telling them.
Stories like this are what makes me question anything a doc or pharmacist says and outright mistrust the companies that sell these pills.
There's a lot of bad regulations and abüse in the medical field, but also, some very good regulations. At the end of the day, you are the patient and you have the final and last say about any therapy attempt of any kind. The Doctor is not supposed to decide on your behalf, but to inform you about options you have, and which downsides they might have. If a side effect is acceptable, ultimately, is up to you, as you're the one who will have it. Therefore, knowing and understanding your condition as well as any therapies that might, or might not, fit, is crucial.

Biggest worst mistake of my life going onto Tramadol... Y'know, besides deciding to go out with my violent ex but nuff said about that........ It's so difficult because I'd come off Morphine in the hospital, at my request, and I really didn't want to take these strong painkillers but I needed them for my spinal bruising. I was monitored by my doctors, the pharmacy, but only to an extent. Again, this was just after the Pandemic and Lockdowns so they were still stretched... I'm now free and clear from all opiods. I'm very, very lucky because the Tramadol sent me absolutely batcrap crazy as in hallucinations, delusions. I one day realised.... I phoned 999 and told them everything, was taken to hospital in an ambulance, given the "antidote" and I was still somewhat hallucinating when I was speaking to the d***s team. This little purple bug fluttered across my...

I will never knowingly participate in anything he is involved with anymore. That was a gross mistake he made that he can't undo. Resorting to violence and bodily harm to someone who make jokes for a living. I do remember the first time I saw him on screen in Made in America and thought he was so talented. No more.
He should have been hauled out of the facility at that moment. Go out on the street and do that to someone and you will wind up in jail.
He felt untouchable and entitled and it backfired bigtime. Arrogant a*****e.
The pilot that allowed his children to play around with the plane, it crashed in just 3 min k*****g all 75 on board,
Aeroflot flight 593.
My dad was a pilot. As a child I sometimes sat in the cockpit if there were no seats available on the flight (we flew standby). There are so many buttons and switches and controls that it was overwhelming. I would be terrified to touch anything. Apparently the pilot let his 15 year old son sit at the controls and he partially disengaged the autopilot, which then fully turned off and the pilot autocorrected when trying to avoid the crash.
My dad used to be a pilot too, so was my granddad, grandma and uncle (mom flied with glider and balloons). Only with smaller planes, but they took me flying pretty often with various types of planes. I basically grew up at the airport (working there currently too as OPS). One of the very first things I learned in life is that you don't touch any of the buttons, plugs, dials or anything in the plane (and the car) even if it's glowing pretty. Never even tried, I always kept my hands neatly on my lap. When I was bigger, there were times when my dad let me control the Cessna for short periods, but he was always keeping his hand on the yoke. I can't even imagine a pilot letting their kid taking over the plane, especially one full of passengers. fücking idiots.

I've taken them a few times, having visited Russia. I've never had a bad flight with them, even internationally to and from JFK. I will say I took a three hour flight within Russia that landed in one of the biggest snowfalls in decades in Moscow, and that pilot put that plane down in as perfect of a landing as I've experienced in decades of flying. But then the taxi driver almost killed us on the drive into the city, but that's another story.

Rightfully so. Most of Trump et al.'s activities are at best borderline criminal and, at worst, out and out criminal and treasonous. Moreover, if the ship starts to sink, Trump throws everyone else into the water and takes the only lifeboat.

Yes, he is, I looked into it. $2.3M awarded to the damaged party in June. My older brother had a pretty epic collapse. He was waiting tables at one of the best restaurants in our city and was promoted to bartender and was being fast tracked to management. I know waiting tables and bartending doesn't sound like a big deal, but he was making around $100k a year and only working about 30-35 hours a week. He bought a house, a new car, and had a dog. Then he got into d***s.
One week everything is great. The next week his roommate moves out abruptly. I'm guessing he had been spiraling without the family knowing, but she saw it all coming. She leaves abruptly, the car gets repossessed, and the bank seizes the house. He moved in with my dad, but after 2-3 days my dad puts him in the VA hospital. After a few days there he bounces out and declares himself a new man. Moved back in with my dad. After a couple of days there, he's back at the VA, then out to basically a homeless shelter. This is all within like a 2-3 week span. That was 15 years ago. He's been bouncing in and out of shelters in Baltimore and Boston since.
Wow that is sad. The grips d***s get people into. It may feel good at the time but then all hell breaks loose.
Banks and cars don't get repossessed in a matter of months, let alone weeks.
Depends on the bank. Wells Fargo is pretty chill. Title loan place... miss one payment and they show up with the repo guy. Houses get foreclosed if you miss 4 payments which is 4 months.

I had my younger sister light the match then I would light the firecracker and throw it. One time she lit the match but her hand was shaking. I grabbed her hand to steady her hand. The firecracker must have lit about halfway down the fuse or close to the firecracker itself because it went off in my hand. It didn't do any damage to my hand or fingers but it shook me up. I had to go in the house for awhile until I could calm down. After that I came back out and join back in celebrating 4th of July.
Greg Wallace
He presented MasterChef in the UK. Notice the past tense.
It came out that he said a few gross things to female contestants - including on the celebrity version.
Nothing actually horribly offensive, but definitely 'pervy uncle' territory.
But instead of apologising or even denying and playing down, he doubled down and having the gall to blame "women of a certain age" for complaining.
And a week later, his co-presenter John Torode was sacked for inappropriate comments about a contestant.
It was verbally offensive and mor3 than “creepy”, he also inappropriately touched women and was in a state of undress around them.
He's always been nothing but a gobby shite pushing his cockney barrow boy for all its' worth.
Load More Replies...I went to a food show a few years ago and MasterChef were doing a demonstration John and Gregg were there and 2 of the shows winners, one of whom was female. Amazing as it is, there are still many pervy/p**o/entitled types in most societies, and they are grossly irritating to most females, yet still seem to feel it is their role in life to insult women. Probably because they realize no woman in her right mind would spend time with them voluntarily!
Why do ugly men think fame and money make them irresistible to all females.
One of the judges on the Australian Masterchef was outed for underpaying employees, for decades (iirc). He lost his Masterchef job and many people boycotted his restaurant, plus he had to pay all those he hadn't.

Adam Osbourne, founder of Osborne Computers which made the first successful portable computer, made announcements about new computers that were still in the prototype stage. So people stopped buying their existing product, Osborne Computing failed by 1985, and they became a footnote in computer history.
But they did name The Osborne Effect after this blunder.

Anyone who fractured their neck, for instance by diving into shallow water.
Had a coworker decide to dive off a remote bridge despite many signs forbidding it. Came up completely freaked out. There was a forest of old rebar from a former bridge in the water. Said he missed being skewered by a few inches.
My Mom, who was struck by a drunk driver at age 16 and fractured her neck, and most of the bones in her body, leading to a six month coma. You would not know it now, except for the complete retrograde amnesia. She did have to start over, but made otherwise a complete recovery. They said she should have died at the time. But she was, and is, still a tough old bird 🐦🕊️
There's a saying, when diving into water of unknown depth, jump in feet first. That way, you'll break your back low enough that you'll only become paraplegic. Dive in head first, you'll break your neck and become quadriplegic.
Or just check out the depth first and not risk the injuries.
Load More Replies...Had a dear friend who, in an attempt to save another friend from drowning, dove into shallow water, hit his head on a boulder, and expired. We were in high school at the time.
Happened to a friend of mine. Dove into a swimming area at a lake. It was roped off and the rope held down by cans filled with cement. He dove into one of those cans head first (he didn't know that's how it was held down). Wound up paralyzed from the neck on down.
My friend Tim. Didn't realize they'd installed a below water launch and he's been in a wheelchair since he was 16.
I think that is what happened to a guy I knew in primary school. He was travelling overseas and broke his back. He was stuck in hospital in the other country for weeks, partly because of cost (people set up a go fund me), then airlifted back to Australia. He is paralysed from the neck down. He had been a star footy player who was being drafted into the reserves I think.
Feet first always. I had a patient paralyzed from the neck down after diving into her pool. 33 years old with children. One thoughtless decision changed lives forever.
A friend of mine decided that she was polyamorous. Her husband was supportive and she starting dating a married guy in another state, literally driving hours back and forth every other weekend to see him.
Out of the blue, after a few months of this, she says that she doesn't feel attracted to her husband anymore and might want a divorce. He is blindsided and willing to work on the relationship (he did nothing wrong and had been nothing but supportive of her), and her friends all beg her to try counseling before going nuclear for no reason. She ignores this and divorces him, ruining both her and her husband's life out of nowhere. She moves to the other state with the other guy and his wife, where she loses contact with her friends and family and basically becomes a mistress to him and watches the couple's baby for free.
The poor husband was devastated. We're still friends with him and he's remarrying to a lovely woman, but I still mourn the loss of my friend who just fucked up her entire life to go be miserable.
I'm wondering if the friend was actually a unicorn (female that becomes a third for an established couple). And just because you would be miserable in that situation doesn't mean the friend is. She could be living her best life right now.
Yeah, the end is either presumptuous, or made up. If she lost contact with all her friends, how's anyone to know what she's been doing and feeling? The husband may have been hurting for a bit, but he lost someone who didn't appreciate him and then he moved on to someone better. Seems a win for everyone.

I believe motor infractions, especially DUI and speeding and reckless driving, should be severely punished at the first offense, generally with prison time, loss of license, and impoundment of the car. Motor infractions are reckless endangerment of the public. It is ridiculous to wait until someone is severely injured or killed.

plenty of good answers I see already, one I think of is Otto Warmbier. Now its North Korea so how much of it was manufactured? That was the weird thing, there was nothing wrong with the pictures. Houses clean, streets clean, everyone smiling all the time, flowers all blooming, sleeping cats in the sun... Very uncanny, and a clever demonstration of the tight control the country has on everything coming out of it.
There is... I've forgotten exactly what it is now. A hotel, or a landmark, or a something... it's completely fake. It's known overseas as the 'propaganda (whatever it is)' because it's literally just there to make NK look better than it is.

My wife is Russian, so I've been there a couple times. There is part of me that feels guilty because my money is going to them. But now my country is barely any better, with probably worse leaders. At least Russia provides their citizens with health care and no restrictions on a woman's reproductive system.

She was understandably distraught by this and fled to Colombia. Totally mia for a few weeks. In that time this old buddy knocked up his neighbor. When his wife came home he said "see I'm not the problem". Oof
Edit: to be clear they removed a fallopian tube from her.
OMG the edit. People if you weren't taught basic biology go back to your high school and insist they finish your education. When there's only one man and one woman involved there should be no need to clarify who had a fallopian tube removed. That'd be like needing to know who provides the $perm.
It's the wife right? I feel like it's the wife that provides it

Fallopian tubes can maneuver from one ovary to the other in the body to find egg bearing cysts. So losing one doesnt mean infertile. The problem may have been just random chance.
Friend was married and she went through so much trying to get pregnant. Turned out he had a vasectomy just before the wedding and never said anything about it to her. He's gone and she's remarried to a great guy and has a child now

Yeah, because she was the only one of the two that had one? Or are we being hyper PC?
No, people on the original post just didn't know what a Fallopian tube was, so they were clarifying.

Kind of an old story, but Jimmy the Greek who used to be on the NFL pregame shows. Was at a dinner, had a few too many and, on camera, started talking about slave owners breeding “big blacks” with “big black women” to make “big, strong, blacks”. I’m paraphrasing, but it was career over pretty much overnight.
TBH, it’s one thing that the slave owners in the South did. They actually kept logs similar to what the AKC registry uses for dogs. The Antebellum South was an evil place.
I recommend reading some of greg iles novels on this topic. He explained many things pretty well and goes sometimes painfully deep into details you rather dont know. As a non american i find certain views americans have very strange and can not really understand how people are so ignorant. It was for me allways a very interresting read even if he had the unfortunate habit to leave some massive gaps in the storyline wich made it sometimes quite hard to understand. Sadly he died last month 😞

Remember, those who survived the trip were the most fit, those who were bought were the most fit of those, and then figure in the breeding that was done, and yeah. It was stupid to say it out like that, but from a historical perspective, he was correct
My favorite 'guy who failed the fastest' is this guy I met in El Monte, CA, arrived to CSULA from Brazil on scholarship for engineering, saved up working under the table to buy a mustang, drove it fast around the industrial zone we worked in, faster and faster each lap, went over the curb, over the grass, car ended up on top of utility box, while I was working at Starbucks across the street from the landing zone.

Azealia Banks. Released a song that was played on near repeat in every club in 2012. Talk about how big she would become.
Went absolutely insane in interviews and social media and destroyed like 95% of her following and blacklisted from mainstream radios so never got much real coverage again.
From what I know about her, it couldn't happen to a nicer person.
It's a shame. I know that she's done and said crazy, hurtful things, but I had her pegged as rap's next big thing at one point. She's crazy talented. There's an MP3 of her singing Interpol's "Slow Hands" out there which is just terrific. She could have really gone places. What a waste. Also, who the heck gets into a public beef with the Stone Roses, of all people, in the 21st century? C'mon, Azealia.
She is an *amazing* singer and rapper. Just she has an awful attitude and personality. Despite songs like 212 she's made numerous homophobic comments (I'd need to look them up; not sure of them off the top of my head) and yeah, her attitude generally just sucks. Apparently she went into rapping when she was young because she was trained more classically and decided it was a waste because she found it boring. No idea if that's true or not but she can fucking sing as well as rap. I still listen to her songs because she doesn't fall into the Lostprophets category for me, but it's sad to see someone do such a massive injustice to themselves (especially, y'know, if you do it in the area in which you want to succeed).

A patient I help treat sometimes. 5yo left unattended for a few minutes, proceeded to drink from a bleach bottle. Caustic burns destroyed their airway and oesophagus but managed to survive because of tracheostomies and feeding tubes. Parents penalised and the child placed into care. Child needs routine surgeries to fix the damage caused by the caustic burns, and because of their age all fixes are temporary because they're constantly growing.
I used to run with a dangerous crowd. Well, this guy was preparing his shöt of smeth. He also had one with bleach in it to clean it. He set his down and went to the bathroom and guess which one he fired upon his return? He made it but good God I hope I never see that shade of red on a person again. I just knew he was deäd. Had to call the ambulance on that deal. I look back now on my lifestyle then. I'm neither proud, nor ashamed. All of it shaped me into me today. My kids don't even know I have ever tasted alcohol and they're 12 & 13 :)
I had a patient like that , 2year old. drank peroxide with the destruction of his airway an esophagus, but he passed. the 80's didn't have the surgical techniques they have now.
This is such an awful tragedy and I hope that poor kid is able to have a decent quality of life. Of course those parents or whomever was responsible for this child, was negligent in having an accessible bottle of bleach, within the 5 year olds reach, but why do they drink it? Many people think just the smell of bleach is quite potent and harsh, definitely wouldn't want to drink it. I know that many young toddlers/kids, may not be aware that bleach is poison, but it definitely doesn't smell like juice or candy.

It's a not uncommon story; been going on as long as big win competitions have existed. There was a movie made about one of th earlier ones, woman who won a fortune on the Football Pools (look it up if you're not British) back in the 1960s and squandered the lot, much to the delight of the tabloid press.
Many people have won large amount of money in the lottery and blow it on things like these. Some people just don't know how to handle money.
Typical result of lottery winners. If I won the lottery, I know my head would be swimming with thoughts of freedom to do what I've always wanted to do, pay off debts, give some to those I care about, and then at some point realize I should take to a financial expert and see where I can store the money to build up more wealth, but then I know I would decline because it would be somewhere where I can't access it for a long while and then I would be heavily urged to access the money. This is the conundrum of those who are given large excess of funds but not by regular earnings.
Most of the big winners end up like that. They win $30 million and then spend as though they had $300 million. People look at somebody like Bezos, and think that, with $30 million, you can throw around money like somebody who had billions. So they buy five cars, each almost a million, a house worth $10 million, a yacht worth $5 million, spend another $5 million on jewelry , $5 million goes for taxes, millions more for upkeep on the cars, boats, and home, and soon the entire $30 million is gone. That's if they're not sued by people coming out of the woodwork claiming that the winner agreed to split the money with them. Some are easily ripped off by charlatans and con artists.
Howard Dean. Was well on his way to becoming the democratic nominee for president in 2004. He had a ton of momentum, polling looked great, the nomination was his for the taking. Then he gets on stage at a rally and in a fit of excitement lets out a awkward scream and overnight his campaign fell apart. It was one of the earliest “viral” clips on the internet. Late night hosts mocked it. Chapelle show spoofed it. He never came back from it. Poor dude.
I thought it was stupid that people held the scream against him. One involuntary reaction, versus his ideas and his capabilities. Just more proof that getting elected to political office in the U.S. is sort of like getting elected prom king or queen in high school.
That pales in comparison to what politicians do now. Like a s**t head repulsive president.
I watched the clip and I dont understand why it was notable. I was expecting some crazy scream like a werewolf howling at the moon, but his voice just kinda cracks a little.
I find nothing wrong with the sound he made. It wasn't a scream. It was a whoop, which is a perfectly ordinary sound for people to make (in many cultures, including American) when they're excited. My problem with my fellow Democrats is that they always eat their own people instead of the enemy.

Gotta say, I only know her as one of the many silly women that slept with Musk, but it's sad that she had a promising career tank for her poor choices in men. I mean; lots of people make bad choices and don't have their career ruined/themselves publicly humiliated because of it.

went on a strict vegan diet in my teens and stayed on it for 20years, had resulting chronic fatigue for 10 years could barely walk 1 minute before needing 10min rest.
slept 12-14hrs per day.
then it slowly improved a tad however i was still greatly nutritionally deficient by living maunly on just a little fruit for so long.
took me having life threatening issues before i finally tested meat again and then it went away.
however by that time already in 30s having wasted 2 decades.. am still far from recovered and battle ptsd anxiety attacks fatigue neurological and brain issues that made it impossible to work hence became homeless (this will be my 7th winter)
although i had to resist the overwhelming urge to unalive 1000s of times am still here with little hope but it is what it is. life isnt always roses, grace and angel dust however it sure grants us great lessons that hopefully others can learn from to enjoy a fuller life 🌼
You can do veganism and be healthy. However, you have to be smart about it. I’m not vegan, but my brother and his wife are and have been for 40 years. They’re 70+ and just completed a 2 month bicycle camping trip of France. As I said you have to know how to do it. Especially how to get high quality protein
*Some people* can be healthy on a vegan diet. Not everyone. Some people have malabsorption issues or serious allergies, or problems with FODMAPs, irritable bowel of the kind that needs a low-fibre diet, et cetera. It's easy to be vegan when you're 22 and healthy. Not so much when you're not.
Load More Replies...Sorry this is just simply not taking care of yourself. Before changing diets talk to your provider or a dietician to ensure you're doing so in a healthy way. When I was inexplicably tired I saw my doctor. Anemic so started with an iron pill. Eventually figured out how much iron I needed from diet to stop the pill. I was still growing (a teen) so it kept changing until I reached adulthood. Now I don't need the pill. OP surviving on a little fruit tells me they weren't on a nutritionally safe vegan diet.
My friend was a vegan and careful to get a nutritional balance. She often felt exhausted and had brain fog. I suggested she introduce eggs and some chicken into her diet. Eventually she did after having a blood analysis. She started eating eggs, some chicken and added red meat too. No more brain fog and the exhaustion has gone.
This is just dumb. Clearly they weren't eating properly. Veganism had nothing to do with it.
Living on fruit is a fad diet, not veganism. There's a book I found helpful, Diet for a Small Planet, which tells you how to combine amino acids to get the most protein. Never skimp on protein. But it doesn't have to come from meat.
That book was published in 1971, which tells you all you need to know about modern, fad diets.

A guy from my high school beat his mom to death. Not sure if you can say that was the moment his life was ruined because he was already arrested for playing with a gun in the house and grew up just as immature, but killing his mom was the point where he truly resigned all hope for a future.
I mean... I guess he had some explanation for doing this, justified or not. (Arguing not, because I don't think taking the life of another is ever justified, no matter how much I might make dark jokes etc). As others have said in so many other posts though, explanations aren't excuses. I'd be curious to interview him in a few decades and say "is whatever you killed her over still worth it?" Fast forward half a year later and he was arrested with those friends for robbing 3 liquor stores with guns. Well, that and I got him a lawyer who frequently represented organized crime members and got 99% of them off with a slap on the wrist. Him being white we were targeted by my brothers friends family and we were stalked, menaced and had weak molotovs and bricks thrown at our house. We were blamed for being racist and that’s why he got off not understanding that he didn’t even hold a gun, had no priors and his friends were known gang bangers who’ve been known to pressure others into doing things.
Well, anyway he now has a record that will follow him everywhere now.
Actually, the record won't follow him (unless he is again arrested for something serious), because he was a juvenile at the time. It's my understanding that these records are sealed.
So was your brother white, or was it his lawyer? Not sure of the significance of this.
You're not sure what the significance of being white is in the penal system? Are you stupid?
